since the shawngela brainrot isn’t letting up let me talk about how the scene of shawn and angela at the boathouse on valentines day is one of my favourite moments between them. like i loveeee how angela never really let the repeated meddling from other people interfere with her behaviour towards him or their relationship in general. that’s one thing about angela, is that she always did believe in him, which is exemplified here when she completely disregards everything shawn's ex girlfriends have to say…

but i also love what shawn tells her here, about him wanting to take the time to establish a strong friendship in order to prevent himself from getting to caught up in the moment (or just the mere status of being involved in a stable relationship, something he’s craved for a long time), leading him to make a bunch of promises he couldn’t keep. it also makes a lot of sense that he feels this way, given that him and angela appeared to have met and begun dating in a relatively short timespan, as they developed feelings for each other pretty quickly. even though he really didn’t do anything wrong in regards to the whole situation, he still took the criticism into consideration. and the outcome really goes to show how much he cares about her and that he’s reflecting on his own journey to see how he can move forward.
