I'm such a big fan of immortal cas endgame but he's not an angel, not fully, not the way he was when he came to earth, the righteous man his charge, when the apocalypse was still the most terrifying thing in the world and there was hope of keeping it at bay. but he's not human either, because he can never be, because the body that is his — his — is still not really his. the soul he's grown can't fit in it quite right, not the way a human's is supposed to, anyway.

where does this leave him? somewhere between heaven and earth. with his clipped wings, and his crooked, cracked halo. he'll never quite be human, but he's human enough for his little family of misfits. and he's never going to be an all-powerful angel again, but he's angel enough to teach his son the things he needs to learn, to heal the hurt when he is able, to cross the boundary into heaven when he's called. it's an odd, uncomfortable, terrifying, wonderful place to be. and maybe it's not exactly what he wants, and maybe he longs for his wings and his grace and the power of heaven at the tips of his fingers sometimes, but it's enough, he thinks, considering. he's happy. isn't that kind of the whole point?

It is kinda funny seeing people talk about Seungmin lately because he definitely has gotten more bold and confident for sure. He's also just getting opportunities to be perceived as an individual on his own as well for the first time in a while but it's still jarring to see people be like Aw he was always such a quiet goodie two shoes little nerd and it's like...... he was the one to leave and seek out his own vocal coach and blatantly talk about it, which of course lead to I.N and Lee Know also doing the same, he was the one to go on bubble and tell off sasaengs who used to camp outside their old dorm for invading members privacy but also because it effected other residents and staff at the complex, something that i'm certain upper management wouldnt have been happy about, and he wasn't curt or nice about it either. like he's never actually been a wallflower, he's always had a pretty strong backbone and seems to stick to his principals, its not really new.

Well. Everything) which to be fair was Very Bad and potentially fatal in the moment, so he had to be placed back in his body and was medically forbidden to leave it until his soul healed (which. for the purpose of the fused au is also how Ichigo figured out about the able to turn into a ghost on command thing-the combination of being forced to transmit spiritual energy through his physical body while he was healing+learning that his goddamn old man was. a shinigami actually shifted his worldview enough that when he was okayed to leave his body he just. Transformed instead). Alas, on account of his soul barely holding together with spit and determination and the teensy little detail of him being part-Hollow (and actual-Zangetsu being the only one awake to frantically try damage control) meant that some wires got crossed as his soul was healing itself, and well, instead of re-solidifying in it's previous state some elements from (both of) his Hollow form(s) filtered in accidentally to his new base state. Which. Yk. Is a super fun thing to find out and absolutely not at all horrifying to learn to live with.
