Synopsis: Alex and Thomas spend New Year's Eve at a Charity gala.

This incredibly gorgeous portrait of my OTP is by the amazing ArtbyAinna (Insta). I've been holding onto this art for almost 2 years. I can't even begin to express how much I love this piece. It is one of my favorites of them ever. It's so tender and soft and romantic and it's so very, very much them. I truly can't thank Ainna enough for bringing this vision to life.

The ballroom gleamed with soft hues of gold, set against brilliant black. Flickers of gold twinkled like stars in the night upon the ceiling. The shimmering decor exuded elegance, while the subdued lighting provided a warm, inviting ambiance for the luxurious New Year’s Eve charity gala. The event began with a cocktail reception, followed by a charity auction, and finally, a countdown to the New Year celebration.

While most of the guests let loose near the bar or on the dance floor, moving to the beats of a famed DJ he had never heard of, Thomas and Alex found themselves drawn to a quieter corner, avoiding the boisterous revelry. The strands of lights behind them warmed them with their golden glow, a serene environment for the pair to lose themselves together while the year ticked away.

Their movements were slow and graceful as the pair swayed to a melody of their own. Thomas held Alex close in his gentle embrace, his hands resting softly on the small of her back. Alex’s arms circled around his neck as she nestled her head on his shoulder. Her eyes closed, relaxing in the comfort of his arms. She knew if it were up to him, he would have left the second the auction had ended, perhaps even before, had they accepted his offer to purchase a few pieces before the event. But still, he was here with her—because of her. A radiant smile spread across her lips; there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her, but that feeling was mutual.

“I love you,” she whispered softly. She tipped her head slightly, her gaze meeting his.

His lips brushed gently against her forehead, placing a tender, lingering kiss. “I love you, too, my Alex.”

The cheers of celebration grew louder, the countdown to the New Year beginning.

“Would you like to join in?” He questioned, though his arms remained warmly around her.

“I have everything I need right here.”

“I could not agree more.”

They leaned in, their lips meeting in a tender kiss even before the countdown was completed.

As cheers of “Happy New Year” filled the space, the pair stayed together, locked in a loving embrace. No matter what the future held, as long as they were together, they would make it through.

“Ready to go?” Alex whispered when they parted. She held her hand toward him.

"Almost." He couldn't resist stealing one more kiss. It was the first of many kisses to follow, but it was enough for now “Happy New Year, my love”

"Happy New Year, Thomas!"

He laced his fingers with hers, guiding her out of the ballroom, without a glance back toward the party, still in full strength. All they needed was each other, their children safely asleep at home, and their beloved black lab.

As much as I'd love to hold onto it, I feel like it's time to share it with the world. I know Thomas and Alex aren't a popular pairing but I appreciate any and all support of them now and always.They will always be the couple that I hold closest to my heart.

"What's this?"

"What's what?"

Ellie fished in the back of his closet, pulling out a black and white collared shirt that caught her eye. "Uh, this."

His eyes widened, jaw-dropping at the discovery.

"Do you bowl? Were you—were you in a bowling league?"

His face fell in his hand, shaking his head to the sides. "I forgot I still had that."

"I can't even picture it. Ethan Ramsey in a bowling league!"

"It was med school," he offered reluctantly. "A way to relieve stress."

"I don't think I've been bowling since I was like ten at a birthday party." Ellie marveled, staring at the shirt, a wide smile growing across her face. "Med Zeppelin?" She chuckled as she read the team name drawn across the back of the shirt. "I didn't peg you for a Ledhead."

He sighed grudgingly, "Needless to say, I didn't name the team."

"Oh, yeah. How about this? King Pin?" She arched a brow at him, reading the nickname embroidered on the chest. "Really?"

"It was that or Mr. 300, which I must admit was preferable until you score less than 300 and never hear the end of it," he lamented.

"Really? You bowled a 300! This I've got to see!"

"It was a long time ago." The corner of his mouth turned up at the memory.

"Doesn't have to be!" She jumped up and held the shirt up to his chest.

"Ellie."

"Yes?" A mischievous glint glittered in her eyes as she found the shirt would still fit.

“I’ve seen that smile before—"

"And?" She fluttered her eyelashes at him, feigning innocence.

His gaze narrowed at her. "It means...trouble."

"No trouble. Just a new way to stay cool and enjoy our day together." She leaned forward on the balls of her feet and pressed a kiss to his cheek. She patted his chest. "We leave in 10 minutes, and yes, you must wear the shirt. I need to see you in your full glory... my sexy King Pin!" With a wink she skipped out of the room, getting ready herself.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading. I was thinking about ways to stay cool and have fun during our heatwave and I had this random idea about going bowling. Then, decided it would be a fun fic for someone and I chose Ethan and Ellie. When I went to make a cover image for the story, I found these perfect pictures and videos of Gandy that fit.

Alex Spencer (Thomas Hunt's fiancee in my Hollywood U au) is friends with Ethan and Ellie as established in my Love & Scotch series which I promise to finish one day.

I also headcanon that Ethan in my AU only has 3 followers on Pictagram: Ellie, Alex, and Thomas Hunt. He denies everyone else.

And so Dani cries over HWU has ended (but will it ever really?). *sigh* I will always adore the app and the love of writing I developed because of Thomas Hunt. I know I don't need the app to keep Thomas alive, but it was nice knowing it was there if I ever wanted it. (Clearly I wrote this when I actually thought the app was leaving 🤷‍♀️)

I can't thank those of you who support Thomas and Alex's story enough. I love all the pairings I write for, but these two will always have a special place in my heart. I honestly believe writing for them saved my life, and for that I will always be grateful to them and to you for keeping up with their story and their adventures. I hope to keep writing them whether in the HWU universe or RCD or even another AU I've yet to explore.

"Once Zach finishes, Professor Withers will introduce you." Holly explained.

She peeked out towards the auditorium.

"It's a full house tonight. They've even got people standing along the sidelines."

Thomas nodded as he briefly reviewed the notes he'd written for his lecture on character development.

He knew it was an honor to be invited to lecture as often as he was. There were moments where he missed teaching when he was away focusing on various film projects. At the same time when he did take time off to teach for a full semester, he missed the creative freedom film making gave him.

Being a guest lecturer gave him the best of both worlds. Plus it allowed him to keep his mind busy when he wasn't able to be with a certain duchess.

Thomas pulled his phone out of his jacket pocket. He scrolled through his notifications, frowning fiercely at the lack of response from Amanda. His texts and calls from the day before had yet to be answered.

He knew she was busy with the latest diplomatic mission she'd been sent on, but he'd hoped to at least hear from her before stepping out on the stage. It wasn't that he was nervous, but rather hearing her voice or reading something sweet from her typically made his day go better.

"Thomas?" Holly prodded when she noticed how disgruntled he was.

"Hmm?" He slipped his phone back in his pocket. "Is it time?"

"Not yet." She nodded her head behind him as she left the shadowed area. "Someone though was hoping to have a quick word with you."

Thomas turned around. He expected to see an eager film student.

His eyes widened when he saw the one he'd been missing the last month.

"Hello." Amanda smiled at him.

Thomas met her halfway, taking her in his arms. Their lips met in a desperate kiss that turned tender the longer it went on.

His lips curved as hers moved down his throat.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming to town?" He whispered, meeting her mouth with his.

She hummed in the midst of their tongues tangling in a deep kiss.

When he kissed along her jaw, she wrapped her arms tighter around him.

"I wanted to surprise you." She sighed softly into another kiss.

Their eyes met.

"In case it isn't obvious, I'm glad you did." His hands drifted down her body, gently grasping her rear to press her close to his body.

"I was hoping you would be." She kissed his cheek.

Her hands moved along the hard planes of his chest, smoothing his jacket lapels and crisp white shirt.

They both were simply enjoying being able to again touch the one they loved.

Holly cleared her throat to get their attention.

The couple turned towards her.

"Professor Withers is at the podium." Holly told them. "You're on next."

"Thank you." Thomas mumbled.

He stole one more kiss from Amanda before stepping back.

He cleared his throat, his dark eyes meeting hers in the shadows.

"Expect more of that once I'm through."

She laughed, her smile brighter than when he first saw her.

"I expect nothing less, Mr. Hunt."

He winked at her then turned to walk out on the stage.

The applause was deafening and drowned out Holly's whispered shriek for him to wait.

Professor Wither's eyes widened as he shook Thomas's hand.

The head of the film department leaned in to whisper that Thomas had lipstick marks on his face and collar.

The famed director gingerly touched his cheek. Lipstick coated his fingers. Taking out a tissue, he wiped it off along with the marks on his lips.

He glanced over to see Amanda with a hand over her mouth. Tears of mirth swam in her big hazel eyes. The corners of his mouth curved in response.

Clearing his throat, he leaned closer to the microphone.

"That is just one example of how you can show a character in your film is in a relationship without any needed exposition."

Here’s Why Everyone Is Talking About A Pirate Drama That Ended In 2017

Black Sails has been described as Game of Thrones with pirates

If Black Sails kicked off in 2020 instead of 2014, it certainly would have thrown fuel on the raging fire that was TikTok’s sea shanty obsession. The reality is that this TV series aired on Starz from 2014 for four seasons, coming to a close in 2017. So why is everyone talking about it now, a decade after it began?

Black Sails is coming to Netflix very soon, triggering its fans to emerge from the woodwork and promote the show online. ‘I am SO excited for people who’ll be watching this show for the first time,’ one user wrote, with many others recommending the series to fans of Game of Thrones. With House of the Dragon still a few months away, here’s why you should tune into Black Sails this month.

New To Netflix: Black Sails

What Is Black Sails About?

Black Sails transports us back to 1715 – aka the Golden Age of Piracy. Set in New Providence, an island in the Bahamas, we meet the feared Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) who brings a new younger crew member into the fold (‘Long’ John Silver, played by Luke Arnold) as his crew continues to fight for survival and negotiate their space on the island.

Is Black Sails Based On A Book?

Black Sails was written as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel, Treasure Island (1883).

Is It Based On A True Story?

While Black Sails isn’t based on a true story, it does trace real events. The first season focuses on the hunt for the Spanish treasure galleon Urca de Lima, a real ship that sank in 1715 near Fort Pierce in Florida (where it still lies). Season two traces the fallout of Urca de Lima’s treasure being stranded in Florida, strictly guarded by Spanish soldiers while pirates prowl the shores. The subsequent third and fourth seasons then look at the war for the control of New Providence between the pirates and the British Empire – a la Pirates of the Caribbean.

Likewise, some of the characters are based on real people. Real pirates fictionalised in the show include:

Anne Bonny (Clara Paget)

Benjamin Hornigold (Hakeem Kae-Kazim)

Jack Rackham (Toby Schmitz)

Meanwhile, Captain Woodes Rogers (Luke Roberts) – who represents the British Empire in seasons three and four – is based on a real English sea captain and slave trader, and subsequently the first Royal Governor of the Bahamas.

Was Captain Flint A Real Pirate?

Captain Flint is a fictional character who was first created by Robert Louis Stevenson in Treasure Island. He has since appeared in multiple works of fiction, including A. D. Howden Smith’s Porto Bello Gold (1924), John Drake’s Flint and Silver (2008), Pieces of Eight (2009) and Skull and Bones (2010), and J. M. Barrie’s Peter and Wendy (1904).

Where Was Black Sails Filmed?

Black Sails was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, mainly inside at Cape Town Film Studio. Because the real city is so different today than it was in the 1700s, Nassau – the capital of the Bahamas, located on New Providence island – was built from scratch in a studio over a period of four months, as were two large water tanks to house the series’ two ships. Some scenes were filmed outside in and around Cape Town when new terrain was required, but most of the series was filmed on set.

A/N: These are just some fan fiction ideas that I had in my head (some are more fleshed out than others), I don't think I'll write them out tho so I put them all here because I like said ideas

-Being his sugar baby or partner, either living with him and him spoiling you or him basically buying you your own house(he would still spoil you)

-maybe the Fatui take a keen interest into his personal affairs and he has to act as if you're really nothing special, you overhear this conversation and this miscommunication leads to fights, you end up storming off and being put in harm's way

Dottore:

-this little shit

-reader running away with a baby they had with Dottore scared of whatever the doctor might do if he got his hands on said baby

-"I don't trust what you would do them." "You trust me with your own body yet you won't trust me with my own creation?"

-running through some snowy woods late at night in Snezhnaya as he calmly with a smirk on his face hunts you down, it's a little game of Hide & Seek, at the end of the day though he's probably the victor

-fem!reader is the daughter of an Inazuman noble family, reader has made and caught feelings for an oni friend/acquaintance she knew from childhood and they start a secret romance as her family would never approve

-one day her family comes to here and excitedly proclaims that she is betrothed to Kamisato Ayato and are so happy about the honor and status it's brought her family

-reader is obviously devastated and entrusts with Itto what happened, reader is married to Ayato and although he was kind and didn't force her to do anything she didn't want to, he didn't seem all too invested in this marriage either

-itto and reader continue meeting up in secret and reader low-key feels guilty that she's technically cheating on her husband and even if she didn't want this in the beginning no one deserves to be betrayed like that

-reader makes a decision to tell Ayato about her relationship with Itto, only to find him and Thoma being romantic with each other (this is awkward)

-eventually everything is talked through and there are apologies and laughs about the whole ordeal(no hard feelings and everyone understands the feeling of being scared to be open about their relationships due to public opinion, head commissioner with a lowly housekeeper?! the disgrace!)

-Ayato explains the reason behind such a rushed marriage was because with (insert national/international conflict here that he has to partake in) and Ayaka not being interested in marriage at all(which is perfectly fine in his eyes) it's up to him to make sure there's an heir for the Kamisato clan as his life is most definitely going to be in danger

-Childe finds himself getting romantically attached to a prostitute he frequently spends time with, however the last thing he wants is another personal relationship put in harm's way

Itto again:

-reader and Itto being discriminated against cause he's an oni, he feels awful for being the cause of reader having to go through this

-reader explains how they don't mind and they knew what they were getting into, how others bigoted minds aren't his fault etc.

-a big fluff fic

Yae Miko:

-Modern AU

reader has an on and off relationship with Miko and is very flirtatious, they like to see Miko's reactions when she gets jealous

-one day either Miko has enough or reader goes too far in their "make her jealous" attempts and shit hits the fan

Kazuha:

-the friend trio was Tomo, Kazuha, and reader

-reader and Tomo were very close, practically lovers at the time of his death

-Kazuha has to relay the terrible news to them and they breakdown, Kazuha hides out in Inazuma for a bit trying to stay on the down-low, it's during this time that reader and Kazuha start getting closer

-Kazuha starts to get feelings for the heartbroken reader and feels guilty because they were Tomo's partner

-Kazuha eventually has to leave the country and reader is left alone in Inazuma

-Kazuha returns during the Irodori Festival and sees a familiar face in the crowd of civilians hanging out with Yoimiya

Kuki Shinobu:

-inspired by the song "Jenny" by Studio Killers

-fem!reader is best friends with Kuki, reader has started going out with Itto

-Shinobu and reader later runaway together leaving behind the cares of the past knowing they would probably be figuratively crucified by those they were close to

September MC & OCs of the Month - Special Edition: Ales Spencer Hunt

Help us in welcoming September's MCs and OCs of the month! That's right, plural! Most months, CFWC highlights one randomly selected MC or OC from our Meet My MC / OC List. (More info here.) But this month, we're doing something different.

In August, @lilyoffandoms hosted a Writers Appreciation Month, and we announced the September Writer of the Month would be selected from its participants. But all participants agreed - Lily deserved the honor! Still, we wanted to do something nice for the eleven writers who elected to participate to help uplift other writers in the fandom. So, this month, each of the eleven participants will have one of their MCs or OCs highlighted.

We will introduce each MC / OC individually, and once all eleven have been highlighted, a masterlist for the month will be created. We hope you enjoy getting to know all about them!

In your own words, tell us what you like most about your MC.

Alex was the first MC I wrote about in the PB universe. Alex got me writing again. She got me interested in fan fiction again. She brought this whole world into my life. I had lurked in the Choices fandom before, but it wasn’t until I started writing for Alex (and Thomas) that I really stepped out of the shadows to join. I love Alex and Thomas more than I can express. They have my whole heart. They inspired me to take a chance to join a community, to try writing again, and to make new friends. Without them, I probably wouldn’t be here today. What I love most about Alex and Thomas (because they go together) is they saved me and gave me something to aspire toward. The life she created is absolutely beautiful, and I hope that I can be even half as lucky as her! Alex gives me hope.

Do you feel your MC is like you at all? How are you alike or different?

Alex and I definitely have several similarities. Our biggest similarity is her love of coffee and all things caffeine. Alex sometimes carries 2-3 coffees with her just in case, and I may… also do that… I mean, can you really have too much coffee? No. No, you can not! Alex also loves animals, like I do. She rescued a black lab, Bogart, who is the most precious, goodest boy ever. I also have a black lab mix that I rescued. She believes in leaving the world a better place than she found it, even if it’s by doing small things, like picking up a piece of trash or pushing a shopping cart back. We both enjoy quiet moments at home with family. We also enjoy watching movies snuggled on the couch.

Alex is more outgoing and social than I am. I definitely struggle more with making friends and taking control of situations than she does. I am far more of an overthinker than she is. She can get in her own head, but she also knows how to get out of her own way; I definitely just get stuck in my head sometimes.

What is most important to your MC? What is their motivation in life?

Alex’s family is absolutely the most important thing to her. She loves Thomas, and her whole heart belonged to him until the day she met her twins. Felicity and Vincent are her entire world. She would do anything to protect them and keep them safe. Thomas and Alex decided that they would alternate projects between them so only one of them would work at a time so that they could be present parents. They love their careers, but with the demanding hours on set and the travel anywhere in the world, they never wanted to be apart or have their children raised by nannies, so this was their solution. The twins are their first thought in anything they do.

What are their biggest pet peeves/dislikes?

Alex has an irrational fear of frogs (another thing we have in common 🙈), so that is definitely her biggest dislike.

Some of her pet peeves are paparazzi (especially once the twins are born), bad coffee (it’s the worst), and unrealistic beauty standards. Alex refuses to have her photos highly photoshopped/edited because of the unrealistic beauty standards set by the industry. If a magazine does edit her photos, she always releases the unedited ones to show the world what is real, especially after the twins are born. She hates that mothers are embarrassed by their post-pregnancy bodies. Everyone is different, and everyone is beautiful!

If your MC could change one thing - anything - what would it be?

Alex would probably want to save her father. He died when she was 12 of a heart attack. He was in good shape, so it was completely unexpected. However, after years of wishing to change the past, Alex has realized that it is both the good and the bad that help define us. She desperately wished her father could have walked her down the aisle at her wedding, or met Thomas and their children/his grandchildren, but if she saved her father… then she may not have turned to acting as a source of comfort and to explore her feelings and then, she may never have met Thomas, and her world would be less whole without the life they built. So, in short, she wouldn’t change a thing.

Hey there, my wonderful fans,

I just wanted to take a moment to send some love and inspiration your way.

Can you believe this small-town girl ended up on this incredible journey? Being a mom to Felicity and Vincent (and I can't forget Bogart,) wife to the one and only Thomas Hunt, and living my dream as an actress – it's like a whirlwind of amazing! On the outside, it may look perfect, but that doesn't mean it's without its challenges. Every one of us has our own struggles to overcome.

Remember, life might throw you curveballs from time to time, but that's just a chance to swing for the fences. I've learned that settling is like saying, "Nah, I'm good," to life's adventure. And who would do that? Not me, and I hope not you! Your dreams are just as important as mine! Your best life is out there. If you haven't found it yet, keep searching, keep fighting, and keep believing!

4. What detail in a map of the broken world are you really proud of?

I like the lore I invented for how Callie from yellowjackets got her name:

Calliope: revered muse of poetry, and verse, and separately truth-telling, the one deity who had power over the shape of stories and fiction. Mom always had an appetite for Greek tragedies in her small inventory of literary references, next to Virginia Woolf and Thomas Pynchon, from the chthonic to The Bacchae, and Dad had let her choose Callie’s name at the hospital.

14. Are there any tropes you would only read if written by a trusted friend or writer?

off the top of my head, I don't usually seek out setting-change or mundane AUs myself, especially high school/college AUs (though gritty grad school AUs that spotlight structures of precarity in higher education are my jam 👍), or fic revolving around raising children, marriage (written as an uncomplicated phenomenon), and pregnancy -- the latter three form my trifecta of personal squicks around conventional romantic milestones -- so those! also not such a fan of (conventional) saccharine domestic fluff writing, despite my best efforts. but I'm also willing to read anything once!

the real answer i'm forgetting is that a lot of m/f tropes played straight would fall into this -- but I once read an m/f captivity trope subversion fic by a friend that would've ordinarily squicked me to hell and back and yet was well-written, and ENJOYED it, which is the one notable example I can remember!

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

THIS IS A QUESTION i'm curious about the answer for as well, if there is such a thing as ~a settled answer... I don't think of myself as the kind of person who tries to project anything onto characters or use them as conduits to work out psychological issues (not consciously, anyway, ignoring freudian slips of my subconscious that everyone can see through in 10s flat). though I heartily respect anyone who does it and think they should be proud of and own it. that makes sense to me; real life influences are often indirect and come through via your 'metaphorical constellation', as rebecca mcclanahan puts it in word painting: what metaphors haunt your writing?

to be a less coy, though, I think themes of grief/mourning, (the impossibility of) atonement, historical memory, and the costs of perfection (+ perfectionism, not as an individual problem -- I dislike most 'gifted child' discourse -- but related to wider environments and ecologies of society, class, biopolitical regimes, etc.) form the fretwork of interests that hang over my writing. very cheerful, I know!!

on a more literal level, in real life i have a casual interest in... makeup and fashion (osmosed from an ex-model sibling), geology, critical theory, ecology, and birds, so any time you see gratuitous details around that in fic, that's my self-indulgence talking.

41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”

oh, where do I begin. I feel this way about any fic from the MANY TALENTS I’ve had the good fortune of crossing paths with, whether as a reader or writer-I-admire-turned-friend. instead of linking fic i'm just going to throw their names out here. 100% non-exhaustive list: i read montparnasse’s fic at an impressionable age and her influence tracks a long subtle path over my writing — her ability to pack in metaphors that mix the beauty, cruelty, and raw pain that comes from a willingness to chafe yourself at the edges of human experience, risk and reward included, was formative for me. she's also refreshingly agnostic/indifferent to the usual constellation of "writing rules" that I see haunt new writers and which, in my grumpy opinion, sometimes hold back creativity

I’m an unabashed cordial (fka cordialcount) fan and I will forever rec her fic to anyone who shares fandoms/pairings with her. her prose has all the 3B’s: brutal, brilliant, and beautiful.

42. Have you ever received a comment that particularly stood out to you for whatever reason?

i've been the lucky recipient of SO many great comments! I can't possibly pick, what a cruel heartless question!! on a serious note, I treasure everything I get, but I think the ones that stand out are the ones I get on undernoticed fic that otherwise would have 0 - 1 comments and 0.0001 kudos, like the fiercest calm. I got three separate comments praising how bleak and yet desperately emotional it was, which was exactly what I was aiming for.

I haven't done a WIP or Sunday Six post in FOREVER... but I'm hoping maybe if I go back to it and share some snippets I'm working on, I'll actually have the motivation to finish any of them. So this is my submission for @choicesficwriterscreations's Sunday Six but also things I would like to work on for @wip-wipeout-weekend. I would LOVE to spend the weekend writing. I don't know if I can make the time, but I want to try.

The Bogart Diaries: Painter's Tape Challenge (working title)

Pairing: Thomas Hunt x Alex Spencer Book: Red Carpet Diaries Rating: General

Thomas followed the sound of her voice toward the kitchen. However, before he could inquire into the cause of the commotion, he darted backward, avoiding the path of Bogart charging toward an obstacle that he cleanly hopped over.

"Dare I ask what it is that you are doing?" He took a hesitant step forward once the path was cleared. His brow arched at the three strips of blue tape strewn between the kitchen island and a row of cabinets.

"Bogart's doing the painter's tape challenge," Alex offered. She scratched the black lab on the head before reaching once more for the roll of tape.

"Should I know what that means?"

Alex and Bogart shared a knowing look. Of course, their favorite Luddite would not be in the know of the latest social media pet challenges. She smiled inquisitively and shook her head. "Probably not."

Her determination not to cry on their first day in a new town was the only thing keeping the dam of tears from breaking.

"You can do this. You can do this," Laura repeated, gathering the last of Lily's school supplies that had tumbled from their bags. "For Lily." She drew in a deep breath, gathering the last of the objects that poured out.

With her head held high, she reached for the door to the coffee shop but found it open.

"Allow me."

"Oh, thank you." Laura moved forward hesitantly, trying to avoid the gaze of the handsome stranger.

●Hi again. It has been a while, I can only say life has kind of caught me in a loop but I'm back and Ready to continue my hobby of making fics once more.

《Some Pointers》:

I am a Sfw/Nsfw Blog, 18+ or older are allowed so minors beware!

This is an X Reader insert

I do small fictions, head cannons and Drabbles, any big fan fiction series will be written elsewhere.

•●Rules before Request●•

This is an x reader insert blog, anything to do with character x Character is completely out of the question for me unless it has to do with a poly relations with Said reader. Shipping has never been my thing and will continuously not be.

Reader will out of be gender neutral/Female. Writing for male readers have never been my strong suit and I best not make assumptions or lazily write how I think a man acts since I don't know how they do act in fictional situations.

No Oc or Oc insert, with doing oc it would be a long process of knowing every detail of the oc as well as their personality and then trying to insert it into the story. For Me that a bit of a Hassel to do and would take up to much time to do so I prefer to leave this out for now.

I do take sub or Dom readers, both are fine by me as long as you don't request anything to extreme. I will also let you know if the request is something to uncomfortable to write.

You can request up to 3-5characters or 1 dorms per ask. I wish to keep each ask nice an detailed as possible so I would like to only have a small amount to write for that way i can take time on each one without taking to long on it or half-ass writing it.

I will only write in 2nd person. 3rd or 1st person is a no go for me.

Dark topics are okay, I don't mind writing for them as long as you don't not request anything extremely serious or straight uncomfortable for others or myself.

I can and will delete ask that I straight up refuse to do, I have the will to do so especially it is something I don't agree with or not wanted on my blog. So be be aware of what you request.

Yandere ask are also fine. But be known that I may write them In the way I know them or prefer writing them.

I do take time to write my fictions so will take time for me to post. Since I have a life outside of my blog I will post and get request done when I have my free time, any spamming I will block on-site.

I only ask that each person send a max of 2 ask. As much as I love request everyone deserves a chance to put in a request, any more than 2 ask from the same person will be deleted and ignored.

Minors are out or the question.(unless characters of age 16+ i can count as a romantic interest but nothing more) Unless asking for platonic fic, you might as well not request anything from this blog cause I will not do it.

I do not go by cannon all the time, if I want to ignore cannon rules I will.

That is so nice of you to say 😭 This made me smile so much, that is unbelievably kind, thank you, thank you. 🥺 I'm very touched, there are so many fantastic writers out there, thank you for giving time to what I write 😭

As a student of English lit my list of favorite authors is waaaay too long, but I'll try to keep this short 🙈 One of my favorite authors is V.E. Schwab, she wrote the Darker Shade of Magic series and The Invisible Life of Addie Larue. She's a really fun writer, her imagination is insane, and I absolutely adore the way she writes. She has those sentences, oh my god... I have to pause and repeat them in my head, they're THAT good. I admire her a lot, in my delusion I hope one day I can write as well as she does, she's definitely someone I look up to writing wise. She inspires me a lot. She writes darker universes, flawed characters, about life and death, magic, the past... Her books are fascinating to me. If you're into fantasy series and magic, I really recommend A Darker Shade of Magic ❤️

For more recent fiction I also love Stephanie Garber and her Caraval series, it's lighter, so much fun, a real love letter to fairytales. She's absolutely magical in her descriptions and universe, and she's SUCH a sweet human being. A good YA duology I read was We Hunt the Flame. I am a big fan of the Six of Crows duology too (I like S&B as well, but my heart is very very very very soft for the Crows I love them so much).

I love reading Ruth Ware, I don't really relate to her characters but her plots are AMAZING. For thrilles, Paula Hawkins! Most people know The Girl on the Train but I actually preferred her second book, Into the Water. I have to read her newest. Who else... Emily Henry is really fun for romance (especially People We Meet on Vacation). For a class I read Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi and it really made an impression on me. I am a BIG horror fan and I usually, in my personal projects, only write ghost and horror stories so I definitely love those (Stephen King is a must, Joe Hill too).

Some of my favorite books include Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palaniuk, The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, every single book by James Sallis, The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy, Kurt Vonnegut is always good too, I also really like Eric Emmanuel Schmidt for French literature! And if I had to chose a favorite French Canadian writer it would be Patrick Sénécal. He is wild.

Since I study "older" literature I also have favorites in that category that might seem more obvious, but they still inspire me. The Brontë sisters are incredible, Jane Austen, Ann Radcliffe, they are great women writers who have really captivating female characters! Toni Morrison is amazing, and I really recommend her. Sheridan Le Fanu is a great Gothic writer. The Yellow Wallpaper is one of my favorite pieces of writing ever, with Poe's The Black Cat. Mary Shelley, Thomas Hardy, Elizabeth Gaskell...

I read a lot of manga recently too! Chainsaw Man is so much fun, Demon Slayer broke me into a million pieces (in a good way), Spy x Family is SO fun as well...

I think everything I read and see (I love movies and tv) inspires me. I'm really challenging myself with fanfiction because I usually write much darker stuff, so it's been really fun! I'm channeling my inner romance lover. I love authors who write with their heart, who own their concepts, who push themselves. I love it when the emotion is so raw you can feel it on the page. If things are too superficial I just can't get into it. Anything with angst and drama and complexity and flaws is what really gets me. I love to be challenged when I read!
