whys ygo the only fandom I’m in that’s really populated with crackships/rarepairs out the wazoo. Like there’s ofc A Lot of popular ships but no one looks twice at ‘weirder’ ones like ones where the charas never spoke. More fandoms could learn from this 😔

I really love Retatsu/Ryou as a cute little ship, and I've shipped rarepairs before, so I didn't mind it being small, especially with people like you making such great fanart and gifsets for it! And both the animes have great scenes of them I always loved to rewatch! Thank you for all the graphics you post! Your art is amazing and your gifs are so smooth!

(It really bums me out seeing other people lately go out of their way to hate on such a cute rarepair and accuse its shippers of "self-inserting" or not having good enough reasons to like it. :c It just feels so mean-spirited after I've loved this ship ever since I was a little girl to suddenly see people tear us down for no reason...)

Hello anon! It is so nice to see the fandom so active in these days! Thanks SO MUCH for your compliment on my art (and gifs too.. even though I am not a gif-maker-kind-of-person XD but every ship and character had their gifset so.. I guess I wanted to make my own too, so glad this experiment feels well done), I promise I won't abandon this fandom, even though I'll post also not TMM related art too.

Like you said.. it is a cute and little ship, I couldn't find better way to describe it <3 and for some of us, as you mentioned, it is something we grew up with, at least for me. It was my comfort ship and it is so nice to see that is getting more love these days, with new and old fans. Unfortunately with more love on the web, I can assume it also comes more hate. It is not a word that I like to use, but it happens. (As I said I am not so into this kind of dynamic, I am just here to share art, not for the drama, but It is not a nice thing when you feel teared down). As soon as something becomes more popular, (even a small ship like this one) the hate comes and, as you said, for no reason at all. It is not even a toxic ship, on the contrary, it speaks to out heart and teaches us about acceptance, encouragement and having more faith in ourselves. Not only romantically, we should always have someone who is there for us, or that at least tries to make feel us better. Of course people can like a ship more or another, that is the beauty of shipping, there's enough ships for everyone :D Well, I think it's up to us to keep the fandom more positive and to not let our ship sink XD so let's spread more love, art, gifs, anything that makes us happy! <3

A rarepair that’s only for me.

I just really think they could get each other! Like, high school age Lettuce would be post-Mew Mew character development, so she’d be confident enough to intervene if she saw someone being bullied like she was. And she’d also be able to empathize with sometimes having dark thoughts about other people, considering what happened with her first transformation.

Meanwhile, Mikan latches onto people who give her positive attention, and I think it’d be good for her to fall for someone who’s generally a nice and empathetic person as opposed to someone who’ll take advantage of her. I just think they could be cute!

Also, Mikan has a food name which means she belongs in the TMM verse

ALRIGHT!! What’s up, I’m Vennev, 18+, looking for a fun partner (also 18+) to roleplay with me! Tokyo Mew Mew: OCs✰✰ Okay, so I’ve been a long-time fan of TMM, and have admittedly never come across anyone who’s a fan as well. So I might as well try my luck, right? I’d loove to do something with a new mew team, maybe tossing in some boys as well; at the very least, I’d love to explore our characters interacting and adjusting to being magical girls/boys and the whole animal-like aspect of them that TMM didn’t shoot for all the way (like ur telling me Ichigo didn’t have the most unnerving unblinking cat eyes and uncomfortably sharp teeth as a mew in a way that made her look slightly inhuman/unnerving?? please). I’m also game for either making alien OCs as well or go for a new villain! (TMM A La Mode didn’t quite do it for me as far as the villain team went, with the exception of Duke) Steven Universe: Gemsonas and/or human OCs✰ I’d love to do something with gems with their own agenda separate from Homeworld and earth, or gems finding refuge on earth or another planet entirely, starcrossed lovers from different social standings running away together (sort of Ruby/Sapphire-y, but doesn’t have to be!), gems set during or after the war - anything really, haha. The idea of a gem and a human is interesting, too! I have a couple gem ocs, but I would kind of like to do something with a Lapis Lazuli gem I have. Haikyuu!!: OCs THROWBACK TO MY SPORTS ANIME ROOTS…Admittedly, I love a lot of sports anime (oofuri being my favorite), but this one just really gets to you, y'know? That, and I have a few OC characters for HQ, haha. Whether it be us playing out a team of our own or focusing on characters from rival teams, hit me with anything you’ve got! Magical girls/boys: OCs✰✰ Alright, so. Magical girls/boys. I was thinking more along the lines of a team of boys and girls, with them being magical protectors - as the genre goes! I’d really love to go into how being a magical boy/girl isn’t everything they thought it would be: you can’t save everyone, you and your teammates get injured, you fail missions, the people you love get hurt. I guess this is a little bit more like a superhero thing, in a way? Adjusting to new abilities/discovering new abilities, bonding with teammates. I'm all for that! But I do have a confession, which is I don’t…exactly have the most set plot/setting for this. It’s more of an inspiration from numerous things! Tokyo Mew Mew, Sailor Moon, Yuki Yuna Is A Hero, Power Rangers, Voltron - you get the main idea, at least. The last two would be interesting in a form of a different inspiration, though, that one being more super hero-y with a tie to space themes! Maybe something like Pacific Rim, as well? The idea of a team or characters making a strong magical/otherworldly connection with each other is cool… I have a small example (ft an oc wowie) of what I was shooting for in the general magical boy/girl genre with costumes and the like, so I’ll tack that on here too! UM ?? ryou/kisshu has no content but like (1) drawing ive made (unless u can find more content for it such as art/fics lol) mint/zakuro/ichigo has content but not enough, same w/ ichigo/mint. I ALSO like berry/ichigo but that has some good art so its not the rarest (I think pudding/ringo would be cute bc theyre the same age also)

(gay??) no but seriously I always fall into rarepair hell. for this series particularly theres a buncha good chances for the gay girls so. im actually not huge on alien/mew ships ?? and ichigo/masaya is basically the only ‘canon’ ship I like bc of the dynamic + half my headcanons abt the two of them (I mean mintkuro is basically canon too so that counts too right?? ppl say its not but like. its at LEAST one sidedly canon I like that ship a Lot too) maybe ‘crack’ ships. i love those.
