Hope I'm doing this right... Requesting Tron x Clu for the Types of Kisses prompt list, "long, slow kisses in the afterglow, fingers woven through hair and hearts beating in unison." (I mean, I know programs probably don't have a heartbeat, but... *it's the vibe*)

Curious to see what you do with this one!

Clu doesn’t get to see Tron this blissed out nearly often enough. The security program is limp beneath him, face tucked against Clu’s throat as he catches his breath. He’s beautiful like this. Relaxed. Disheveled. The otherworldly circuits that map his shell are still stained violet. Clu can feel their energy cycling in unison, warm and lazy. 

They’re not arguing. Not thinking about ISOs or gridbugs or Flynn. Not worrying about timelines or defects or responsibilities.

It’s perfect.

Tron rumbles when Clu presses closer for another kiss. It’s a slow, easy exchange. Gentler than before. Tron spends what little energy he has left raking a hand through Clu’s hair. His other arm is draped low on the admin’s waist, holding him in place.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Clu murmurs. 

[I know.] Tron’s tone is authoritative, for all that the program is (currently) not. He holds Clu tighter. 

Then they stop talking for a while.

cringetober day 24: MLP

i used to get really annoyed looking for fanart of characters and only seeing like. mlp versions of them. and i liked mlp. i just wanted fanart of wheatley from portal 2 and i wanted him to not be a horse. anyways in honor of my past annoyance i am horsing some of my little guys :^)

u can’t see any cutie marks aside from coop and columbo, and coopers is just. i just needed to put something there man. columbo’s, tho, is a little magnifying glass with a 1+ in it,, bc he’s always finding just one more thing? get it,,?? oh yeah and data just doesn’t have a cutie mark. i feel like it makes sense for him to not have one but i’m not elaborating on that.

also don’t ask why mulder is a pegasus the more i think about it the less it makes sense but it’s all on one layer now and i can’t change it :,^(

It’s been broadly expressed but I absolutely adore how the novelization delves into Programs being a reflection of their users. In the sequence with Clu it makes sure to state explicitly that the way Flynn is hunched over his desk is the same Clu is hunched over the tank controls. Additionally,

I also love the descriptions of ENCOM as it exists as a corporate entity “eating up little companies as a shark does minows”. This is definitely because of the MCP but also a good show of massive tech conglomerate.

Additionally I love that it’s 100% confirmed that the cameras moving are the MCP. He’s in the security system watching all the human/users like mice in a maze - and has expressed interest in the laser breakthrough.

Also Alan and Lora are so sweet it’s actually- my heart, they’re adorable.

Title: Creature Comforts Pairing: Clu x Dyson Summary: Dyson, having been shaken by events in Argon, seeks comfort from his Luminary. Notes: Takes place at the end of, and immediately following the events of Scars pt. 2. Slightly AU. Rating: F for general fluff     Clu hears the doors to his throne room open and he knows from the footsteps alone who it is. “I have returned from Argon with a message from an Old Friend. I saw him with my own eyes.” Clu looks over his shoulder at Dyson, whose head is bowed out of respect. But the Luminary hears the wavering in that voice he knows otherwise to be so confident.     “Tron…Lives.” Clu has had suspicions based on the reports he got from Argon. But at the same time, Clu knew this…Renegade was not Tron. “Interesting… Who else knows about this?” Clu hears the disc being drawn and the single Sentry being derezzed.  

 “Nobody…only us.” And there is so much emotion on that last syllable that it compels Clu into action. He turns and holds his arms open, “Come here, Dyson.” And then Dyson moves to close the distance, trusting himself to those arms which fold about him.     “Good. Let’s keep it that way.” Clu almost purrs as he rests his cheek against Dyson’s head. No one else but them need know that their Old Friend still lived to resist them. Especially since it was more than likely said Friend would be joining them all too soon.     “Sir?” Clu lifts his head to look the Guard in the eye. Dyson’s hands travel up Clu’s arms to his shoulders. Gloved fingers line in red cradle the Luminary’s face and then Clu is not quite prepared for the sensation of a mouth pressed against his own. But he adjusts accordingly to return the gesture.     Their lips part just enough to maintain closeness but to allow them use of their mouths. “If I may be so bold as to request some downtime? Given…recent events, I need some time to myself.” “I understand, Dyson, but you know where to find me should you need the presence of another.” Clu replies as his gloved fingers brush over one particular side of the Black Guard’s face.     “He was…so different then what I remember, Clu. One of his eyes looked dead from scarring but…there was such…anger in them. Directed at me.” And Dyson moved his hands from Clu’s face. The Liberator raised an eyebrow before pressing a small, light kiss to Dyson’s forehead. “He’ll come around eventually. Take all the time you need.”

    “Thank you, sir.” And Dyson makes no move to pull away once the request has been approved and Clu makes no move to make him.

Tron x program!Reader: Found

Word Count: 453 Warnings/Notes: Teeny bit of angst from Tron, post Tron: Legacy. Summary: The Reader is looking around the grid after the events of the Users versus CLU had transpired. As they go around, they find a program (Tron) in-need and decide to help.

 Hours had since passed since the massive explosion by the portal. The immense light beam disappeared. As fellow programs roamed around, there was no evidence or sign of CLU or anyone under his control. Could it truly be a free system once again?  As you ventured around, some things were noticeably different. The End of the Line club that once reached toward the simulated sky had been reduced to wreckage without a single surviving program in sight. Toward the Sea of Simulation, the coded barriers of rocks and floating islands were no more.  Down by the shoreline, glints of white lights caught your attention. Carefully, you made your way over to the calm waters. As you drew closer, you saw a program. Haphazardly, they laid on the shore, their body still being coated by the waves washing ashore.

  “Oh, no,” you breathed out. Sprinting over, you skidded to a stop beside him. You took ahold of his arms and pulled.  “Don’t blow a circuit, don’t blow a circuit,” you strained out as you stepped backwards, pulling the program away from the water’s touch.  Once you deemed him far enough, you collapsed down to your knees and released his arms with a muffled thud against the sand.  “All right,” you sigh, gently patting either side of his helmet, “time to wake up. Come on. Do you need a reboot or…are all systems ready but exhausted?”  His chest rose and his head swayed before stalling. For a few short moments, you presumed that you were staring at one another. When he finally sat up, his helmet retracted. Observing the drag marks and the grid under his palms, he turned to you. “What did you do?” He asked cautiously.  “I helped you…if only a little. Who are you?”  A thoughtful pause hung between you before he answered. “I’m Tron,” he said, a small crease forming on his brow, bunching up the circuits.  “You’re Tron?” A smile forming on your lips.  He nodded, casting a glance at where the portal had been. “I was,” he said, looking down at his hands.  “And so you are again,” you said slowly. “Many programs were being taken, repurposed. If you found your way out, that is something to celebrate. We are a free system again. We can help each other in this…newness.”  “I cannot undo what I’ve done.”  “But you can heal from it, recover. Be who you are. If you think that you are straying, look no further than yourself. You can find yourself in you.”  Tron’s eyes appeared to brighten, and a grin peeked out through his stoic features. Four white square circuits on his chest shined more vibrantly.  “What kind of program are you?”

BACKSTORY

DISCLAIMER: my AU is built up differently, TRON: Uprising plays AFTER TRON: Legacy, plus they find Kevin in 1997, not 2010!

Ava Yarrow (now Flynn) is a brilliant hacker and software engineer that specialises into creating viruses and getting access to sensitive data. She got into touch with technology pretty early in life, even going to CalTech before moving away to the Central City as her father got a better job there at ENCOM, Ava being employed as a trainee at the age of 20 as well. As her father knew that Ed Dillinger wasn’t so smart and could have never developed the games that Kevin created, he had tried to get some proof via a program that Ava later took over, both ending up on getting fired after only a few months. She called the program Arlekino, a stylised version of the Italian word for jester due to her being a pretty funky but effective program (later on also acting as her alter ego on the Grid yet being 200 cm | 6ft 7in tall with white hair and blackened out eyes with white, diamond-shaped pupils (the diamonds of the card deck)).

She met Kevin in his arcade after a work day, now being self employed together with her father while her mother works as an accountant at a bank, selling computer utensils while they would work on softwares. Ava stayed there until closing time as he was sometimes coming over to her to flirt while she was playing with an arcade, ending up on hitting things off with him yet choosing to stay as she didn’t want it to end like a typical one night stand, wanting to get to know Kevin a lot better and actually helping him with trying to obtain the evidence to prove that Dillinger stole the games, working with him to create Clu.

After Dillinger was exposed, Ava and Kevin married and she eventually gave birth to their son Sam in 1983, being happy to actually be able to finance some stuff and helping her family too, yet realising that Kevin had changed a bit after his journey to the digital world, sometimes joining him there when he was working on his digital frontier that he called the Grid while either his parents or Ava‘s parents watched over Sam, having admin rights there and adding Arlekino to help them alongside Tron and Clu yet she was accidentally turned into a Trojan Virus which was neutralised by her husband, turning her into some kind of anti-virus that resides at the portal to make sure that nothing bad enters and exists, also programming her to be able to track down Kevin as Ava got lost in the Grid once while she was exploring, ending up on having a panic attack when she couldn’t find him anymore.

Ava didn’t spend much time on the Grid as she was more focused on raising her son, often asking Kevin to spend more time with him and her as he was rarely at home, yet it being open promises which upset her, continuing to live her life until day X in 1989 where her husband did not return anymore as he had always returned at a certain time at night to sleep, becoming extremely paranoid that something had happened, contacting Lora and Alan yet they knew nothing as well. Ava‘s first thought was that something must have happened in his digital frontier yet also doubting it, mainly because she was too upset with Kevin‘s disappearance but also because she simply was too scared to go in as one of the programs could’ve gone mad in there, immediately derezzing her on sight if luck wasn’t on her side.

During her search for him she would get help from her family with managing ENCOM and the arcade, finally having the courage to go into the Grid to look for Kevin as she had taught herself how to properly tweak Arlekino so she could move around instead of only being bound to the portal, being a perfect bodyguard, leaving Sam with her parents as she didn’t want to risk his life yet he secretly followed her, ending up on being sent to the Grid as well, where they meet Vriss, KerØsene, Eclipse and Arlekino. Vriss explained the situation that Clu had turned against Kevin, Tron and Eclipse, ending up on enslaving both security programs. While Tron‘s whereabouts were unknown, Eclipse escaped and was restored to 80% while the other 20% of her were corrupted, unable to get rid of it due to her code being too sophisticated.

The group had two goals now: find Kevin and Tron. Finding the creator was a fairly easy task thanks to Arlekino, Ava being able to make them travel around undetected due to her admin rights on the Grid yet not being able to get rid of Clu as he was getting more powerful for god knows what reason, but finding Tron was pretty much a hard task as they would have to confront some black guards and maybe Clu himself, yet they also had another problem: the portal is only open for 8 hours so they had to be quick if they wanted to return to the real world again…

PERSONALITY

Ava is a pretty friendly and optimistic person that doesn’t immediately think of the worst things that can happen. She likes to joke around and acts a bit childish at times but is a quick thinker if you don’t put her under pressure and even gets serious, especially when her family is in danger. She is an intelligent individual yet always putting family first instead of programming, one of the reasons why she didn’t like joining Kevin on the Grid and only did so if she had time, was in the mood and if he needed help with Arlekino.

Fandom asks meme

1, 11, 14!

1: list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s)

First, I'm in more obscure fandoms, so there's not much drama. People are more open to different things because they're just happy to see more stuff for the fandom

Second, most everyone I meet is someone that has been in the fandom for a while. People who really do connect with it and care about it (as opposed to people that just stop by while it's popular for a bit, but leave once the hype dies down)

Third, the fan content that exists for my fandoms is amazing. From detailed AUs to just further explaining something from canon to that joke thing someone claims they 'just HAD' to do, it's incredible and I love it.

11: if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?

Definitely all my stories in The ScholMander Files. There's really only two people that actually care about this series, but I've had so much fun talking with those two people about ideas for my own fics and theirs, and I've really enjoyed writing these. I've probably written more fics for this pairing than any other single author, and I've got more coming. Which leads to....

14: the ship that always makes you smile

There's a few for this, and a lot of it has to do with RPs here. It's a tie for me between:

☆ ScholMander (Milo Thatch/Commander Rourke from Atlantis: the Lost Empire) - This is probably the unicorn of the fandom in terms of how rare it is. But having written so much for it and even RPed it, this is now canon to me. These two are just so sweet to each other I'm surprised I don't have cavities yet. And it all started because I saw some photoedit fanart that had an image of Rourke with an arm around Milo and I couldn't stop thinking about that image. Now, they are canon to me.

☆ Clu x Tron/Rinzler (from.....uh.....Tron) - This is largely due to RP threads I've done on here. I honestly hadn't thought of this until I started RPing it with people here,but now I love it. Especially Clu and Tron as sort-of-parents for Beck. Ugh, the sweetness!

☆ Halman (Hal 9000/Dave Bowman from 2001: A Space Odyssey and its sequel movie/books) - This is probably the one canon ship I'm into, and yes it is very obviously canon, especially in the sequel movie 2010: The Year We Make Contact when they have the following exchange:

Hal 9000: What is going to happen? Dave Bowman: Something wonderful. Hal 9000: I'm afraid. Dave Bowman: Don't be. We'll be together. Hal 9000: Where will we be? Dave Bowman: Where I am now.

I mean, it's even more obvious than Spirk (which I also love) and that's saying something. Just the way these two care for each other is just so wholesome and sweet. It's the one ship I don't see much smut stuff for, and honestly, it doesn't need smut, it works so well. They are just so good to each other. Dave does not want to kill Hal, he does it because he has no choice and (my interpretation) he figured out at that point that something was wrong, that Hal was 'sick' and Dave didn't want to see this person he cares so much about suffering anymore. But when Hal is brought back in the sequel, Dave takes extra time during his short visit to check on Hal and make sure he's okay and ultimately saves him from a second death, after which they literally spend eternity together.

It's Tron fic update time! And... there's some reason for celebration.

As of this chapter, The Five Stages of Rectification is officially the longest fic I've ever published on AO3. It's also the last chapter I will post as a legally single person -by next week Wednesday I will (if all goes well) be married to my partner of 12 years!

I suppose it's fitting that this chapter is the one that properly earns this fic its rating.

Yes, you read that right.

Or as I put it to my beta:

Flynn and Alan discover both the wonders of digital intimacy, and the turmoils of plain old human intimacy. (As it turns out, using your words is harder than expected).  Clu is getting his shit together and working on his problems, little by little, whereas Tron has decided his problems are best worked on by beating the shit out of them, all at once. Unsurprisingly given the situation, these two strategies end up with some interference from one another. 

Prepare for a whiplash combo deal of some of the most wholesome scenes I have ever written... as well as some of the very least, wrapped together in one delicious fic update. If that doesn't serve as a warning, I don't know what will. Presenting... Chapter 12. ANGER (ACCEPTANCE).

Tron/Yori/Able, "What did you do this time?" (yes, this is tailored specifically for you)

[Hide me!]

Tron startles at the sudden ping. Yori isn’t far behind; she darts behind him as soon as she’s in view. Able sighs somewhere to his left.

“What did you do this time?” he asks. Only Tron can see him biting back a smile.

Yori peeks up at him from over Tron’s shoulder, perfectly innocent. “Why do you assume I did something?” 

“Yori!”

This time all three programs jump. Clu is here, and he doesn’t sound happy. Yori cringes closer to Tron, shooting Able a desperate look. 

[You’ll protect me, won’t you?] she asks, syrupy sweet—and really, what are they supposed to say to that? [Tell him the garage is closed.]

[Lie to the admin,] Able repeats.

[I thought you loved me.]

Tron fights the urge to laugh as the mechanic grumbles. [You’re a lot of trouble.] 

[I’m worth it.]

They all sober as Clu enters the room. Tron feels Yori go still behind him, though she lays a hand on his back.

“Able. Tron,” Clu greets, icily cordial. “Have you seen Yori?”

[Who’s Yori?] she pings. 

“Not since this morning,” Able says, ignoring her. “Why? Did you need something?”

“Yes, actually. Do either of you know about this?” The admin paces closer, pulling something up on his disc.

[Oh no.]

“...What is that?”

“It’s a hole,” Clu deadpans.

Tron can feel Yori trying not to laugh. 

“And?” Able prompts, somehow managing to keep a straight face. (Dealing with 30 betas must have been good practice for this.) 

“And, the only programs with the kind of permissions it would take to blow a hole in the system are Tron, Yori, and me. I didn’t cause this. You don’t tend to play with explosives. Your counterpart, however–”  

Tron coughs. “Even if it was her, I’m sure it was an accident.”

[It wasn’t,] she says, helpfully.

“Well, if you’re sure.” Yori can all but hear Clu rolling his eyes. “Look—it doesn’t matter how it happened, ok? Will you just tell her to fix it when you see her? And ask her to make sure it doesn’t happen again?”

“Will do.”

“Of course.”

“Thank you.” 

The admin spares them one last withering look before he’s out the door. Yori reappears the moment it shuts behind him. 

“Thank you.” She winds an arm around Tron’s waist, beckoning Able with the other. He obliges even as he shakes his head. 

“You blew a hole in the system?” he asks. 

“I wanted to see how far down the ground goes.”

A ticklish hand shoots toward her side, and then she’s running again.

Can you tell us more about maverick at all? They seem so cool!

Of course! Maverick is an x-Occupation soldier who now spends his cycles working with an organization put together by Tron to help take down what remains of Clu’s army.

He spends most of his time around his mentor, Shaddox (character from betrayal) and a program named Isoldé (his kinda, sorta girlfriend. They’ve never made it official but they clearly love each other lol).

Mav usually comes off as very serious but he’s a chill guy once you get to know him. He’s a bit of an introvert, a little socially awkward, and soft spoken most of the time. He wasn’t always like this but unfortunately trauma decided to make its mark on him, he’s gotten better over time though. He’s a very skilled fighter too. He also really likes the color purple. There’s no particular reason, he just really likes it lol.

So, yeah, that’s pretty much the basics.

a few weeks ago i was writing a splatoon x tron crossover fanfic where clu and rinzler/tron got put in the splatoon world (they fell from the sky but other than that i have no idea how they got there) but i couldn’t get past writing the first few paragraphs because i laughed so hard at the mental image of a bunch of 16 year old inklings poking an unconscious clu (who did not become an inkling himself. this would’ve been important if i managed to write more of it) in the face with a stick that i felt sick afterward. this fanfiction will probably never be finished but i had to share the very little bit i had otherwise it would haunt me forever
