Penny for your thoughts?
oh shit R$0,04... sick...
Y'know, I miss Turok. Turok is one of those games that I've known, I've played, didn't actually get as much enjoyment out of it as I thought I would, but I still hold immense fondness for purely because of how it is... Incredibly charming to me.
The big open forest levels, all the enemies and guns you find, the tight controls, the music, oh my god the music.
Game isn't even that good. I think I played up untill we got to the lava area, that's when I just stopped. But it's so like... Nice! It is nice. It's so Turok. It is Turok.
I recommend to everyone that likes video games more than the average 40 year old to get a game you like and research into what video games could have been inspiration for that to exist. And then I need you to go play that.
Turok was not necessarily a pioneer of the FPS genre in anything but it was still one of the first big ones I can think of, and it's a good example of early FPS games. There's a big map, there's a lot of weapons, ammo and health packs lying around, there's secrets everywhere, there's strafing, etc. It's just a nice little adventure for a bit.
Otherwise, I'm just sitting at work thinking about love and poetry. I like rereading my own work sometimes.
Thanks for asking! ^^
