4: What are your OC’s minor fears?

tbqh, part of my difficulty with answering this one is just "how many of my kids do I want to do this with"? So, to keep myself from making a response with TWENTY-EIGHT different entries (twenty-nine since one of them is a package deal), I'm going to keep to the ones relevant to the 1st Arcane Exchange arc ONLY (...which is still just under half of them, hehe lol); -------------------------------- INSTRUCTORS/OTHERS

Sir Shy: Germs/Disease, stemming from a "prank" pulled on him by Ambrose LXIII when they were schoolmates. Ambrose's only response to this day is "well it served you right, sulfur breath."

Solfilius: Scissors, stemming from him being extremely protective of his hair. Unknown to most people aside from Alan and a few of the other Corlux Key Seminary staff, this is because Solfilius's hair is intrinsically linked to his Signature Spell.

Alan: Explosions such as fireworks, stemming from how the sound reminds him of a pompous ex who was an avid sportsman and hunter. Let's just say the young lad insisted on volunteering as a chaperone for the student exchange program his mother Maureen's workplace is embarking on when he found out one of the instructors there was that very same ex.

Maureen: Wolves, stemming from an incident in her son Alan's youth where the curious lad had gotten cornered by the beasts when his curiosity brought him far further off the path than he had intended. If it hadn't been for a strapping young lad hunting nearby, a lad Alan would go on to date for quite sometime before they had a rather spectacular split for reasons unknown to Maureen, who knows what could have happened?

Saul & Carnelian: The sound of a dog growling, stemming from a series of run-ins they've had with various canines over the years. Luckily for the brothers, they happen to share a best friend who knows just how to handle 'disobedient pups'.

Babur Shah: Trick candles that relight themselves, stemming from his major fear of fire. Sir Shy loves to abuse the tiger beastman on this by sneaking at least on either on his birthday meal/dessert or just somewhere he's going to see it.

Godehard: Pure white horses, stemming from this one horse from his home kingdom that Godehard swears had it out for him for no damn reason. What an unfortunate coincidence that a very fashionable ex-boyfriend of his and a strict older gentleman Godehard is hoping to make his new boyfriend(despite said gentleman having ABSOLUTELY no interest) are both connected to a young lady who owns & adores such an animal~

Augustus: Carrots, stemming from his minor-but-infuriating allergy to them. The more impish Corlux students have snuck them into his bag or office enough times that Augustus is almost always wearing gloves just in case he has to suddenly dispose of one.

Salma: Spider webs, stemming from sensory issues she has. She makes it very clear that she doesn't mind spiders; it's specifically their webs, and even more specifically when she somehow ends up walking into one.

STUDENTS

Fiamma: Mousetraps, stemming from the early days of her adoption into the Trein family due to the hostility from her "new sisters". You seem, Fiamma has a small collection of pet mice that she has trained to help her with chores as well as with strong emotions. They were gifted to her by the kind elderly woman who fostered her after the tragic death of her parents. Those sisters...were not nearly as sympathetic to Fiamma's plight, viewing the creatures as vermin that were invading their house "led by the giant soot-covered rat queen that brought them here".

Kentigern: Squirrels, stemming from an incident of his youth that he absolutely REFUSES to talk about. It's honestly kind of comical amongst the Corlux students regardless of whatever the context might be.

Penny: Dust/pollen, stemming from her incredible sensitive nose. She hates how much this kind of stuff makes her sneeze.

Ruby: Mousetraps, stemming from getting her tail caught in one several times during one year of middle school. She's convinced that someone was setting them up on purpose, but that literally makes no sense since she lives on a great big plot of land with her parents and her sister, all of which adore the fox beastman and would have no reason to do such a thing.

Hey, Yuri, do you think Yuu would ever run the risk of being put in danger by having a romantic relationship with any of the more high-profile members of the cast? I mean, we’ve got royalty, nobility, celebrities, and the very wealthy attending this school. I’ve just been rotating my brain about how these relationships would work out and Yuu is a pretty vulnerable target without NRC’s security. - 🦐

Hmmmmmm. I have a bunch of thoughts about this actually... I tried ranking them from least to most dangerous if that makes sense? But don't read too deeply into the bullet point placements they were mostly just a stream of consciousness thing.

Not that Risky (surprisingly)

Leona- we don't really have details about his brother's marriage, but I don't think his family has been shown to be overly keen on forming alliances with outside countries, the Savannah seems more concerned with itself. I don't think his family would be too fussed with his partner being a magicless person from outerspace, if anything this might be seen as a plus to the councilors that are always mocking Leona behind his back as his partner's lack of royal blood makes him even less fit for the throne. Not to mention Leona himself is more than enough to protect Yuu, he's the only royal at the school without a proper retainer (which you could argue is because no one at home likes him) but I doubt his family would let him do that if he was genuinely in danger.

Rook- he's Rook. His family does sound rather sweet from the very very very little we know about him (he also seems like he was kind of sheltered as a kid, something I should chew on sometime) so I doubt they would allow anything too bad to happen to Yuu.

Vil- his main issue is his contract, the Japanese Idol industry is cut throat and often sees things like bans on relationships as part of the contract. Vil doesn't want to risk his career or reputation, he mentions that he himself is a brand and I can't see him wanting to put that pressure on Yuu if they're not up for it. But... there are also celebrities who have really private personal lives and I sort of get the sense Vil is like that? And I don't think he would be too bothered if Yuu didn't want to be super public, it would certainly make it easier to keep you safe.

Idia- S.T.Y.X. might be a gloomy place but no one knows where it is

Medium Danger (danger is real but can be managed)

Jade and Floyd- we don't actually know what their family does, just that it's probably sketchy and that Mama Leech calls them every day, taught them self defense, and just generally seems to worry about them a lot. The danger is very real under the sea, but I also sort of get the sense that messing with the Leech family is skipping the fuck around and going straight to find out.

Azul- his business is going to make him enemies sooner or later, but at least during school Yuu should be more or less safe. Azul's able to keep on top of the students who mean Yuu harm, and Yuu is able to politely ignore their boyfriend's business (or maybe they have a knack for helping?) When you get older I can see Azul's need for a security team expanding, but he'll have money to get the best.

Riddle- ok so. I don't think his mom would try to kill you. But god she would be such a toxic person to manage. I'm actually working on a (very old) request atm that involves discussing what Riddle's mom might do if she finds Riddle with a partner instead of his studies (which I assume she's paying for) especially during his internship. She'd go full scorched earth and get very confused when Yuu doesn't back off like Trey did.

Huston We Have a Problem

Kalim- the amount of assassination attempts my poor boy has already canonically endured... I imagine there are probably going to be more in his future. I can see Yuu needing their own retainer (which could be a fun concept for an oc) to protect them and test their food. When Grim becomes a great mage I'm sure he could help with that actually, wouldn't that be cute?!

MALLEUS- acceptance of humans is virtually non existence in Briar Valley AND his mother hated humans so much she "blessed" her child to only be loved by fae. We don't actually know how the senate works but I imagine they would lose their ever loving shit if Malleus brought home a human as a friend and now he wants to make them his spouse? No. They say no. Time to show them what an absolute monarchy means I guess.

Assuming Yuu isn't in a relationship with Malleus I could see their friendship actually sort of being a boon to them, especially if Yuu was with Kalim or Azul. Pissing of the merchants is one thing, but the King of the Abyss? No thank you, they'll just take their losses and go.

Agatha!

In the event of book 2, she hated Ruggie due to his behavior and attitudes following Leona's orders but after a while, she began to realize how Ruggie was in fact, his skills, humor, responsibilities, intimidation and even his cute side. In love with the hyena boy? 100% yes!💗💗💗

5/ Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

YES Ruggie!

We know that Ruggie is canonically shown to be insecure and sensitive about his origins!

Several times and we also know how busy he's, with extra work, campus activities, studies, and Leona's chores. So he would be hesitant to accept his own feelings for all those reasons and also time! A relationship is a serious thing that takes a lot of responsibility and he knows that soon he can hesitate until his mood upsets some others or Leona so he gets momentum and realizes for himself that this is what wants and he's just worried. But he accepts quickly!!!💗

6/ If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?

I imagine they would be in shock for a while? It's just a little scary to think that your soulmate belongs to another world ( :'D ). Discovering this suddenly even before or in love with this person, it would be fun to see the two nervous, fidgety, and fumbling around each other.

But I think that Ruggie already accepting his own feelings for her, he would immediately think of sharing spaghetti and meatballs, a belief as he said right? With a beautiful meaning T^T/💗

💆how do you relax?

"Well, let's get right into it then, shall we?" Yuu clasped her hands together, a sly smile spreading onto her lips, "Relaxation... well I guess listening to music would be my go to. Genre doesn't matter to me mostly," The woman tapped her chin, lightly humming as she thought, "Though I suppose my definition of 'relaxing' isn't exactly universal... I often enjoy getting up and around and even dancing a bit, maybe having a quick chat as well... it helps me center myself. Too many thoughts in this big brain of mine sometimes!~ A way to focus is most definitely what relaxation is to me. Some people find it chaotic, but I don't care about some people. It's fun to me. Besides, it's not like I never sit down and rest."

🏘️where's your happy place?

"Huh... some of these questions are rather deep, aren't they?" Yuu cleared her throat, doing her best to keep a neutral expression, "Much like a lot of people, my happy place isn't an actual PLACE. It is more like a state. All that being said, I'm... not quite sure. Not to say that I'm not happy, of course! There are hard times and good times, but I suppose I'm still trying my best to find such a 'place' for me in this new world. Let's call this one a work in progress, yes? I'll get there eventually, not to worry. I have my plans, of course~"

✏️What are your hobbies?

"Oh! This is a fun one. I'm a musician. I have been taking band and theater courses my whole life," Yuu lifted her head triumphantly, gladly taking the opportunity to brag, "Singing, acting, playing instruments... I managed to get into a pretty prestigious performing arts school back home, and what more could one ask for than to spend their life doing what they love?" Her peppiness suddenly dropped, resulting in a roll of her eyes, "Not that it's useful now that I'm stuck here though. Damn Crowley."

🥣what's your favorite food?

"Bungeoppang!" The prefect chirped, leaning forward in her (imaginary) seat for this (imaginary) interview, "Or, ah- taiyaki, or bread with a sweet red bean filling. I was trying to learn more about my ancestry, and came across this pastry thanks to my father. Originally I didn't think I was the biggest fan of sweets, but, wow~ Only then, after I fell in love with it, did I learn it wasn't even a traditional dish from my father's home... figures. Nonetheless! You'll have to try some!"

"Ah, Here's a fun fact for you, I learned the language a long time ago along with trying to learn more about my family's history, but no one here seems to recognize it, which... makes sense, I guess. It was a bummer at first, but then I learned I can simply say whatever I want without them understanding me. What a breath of fresh air~"

The woman momentarily giggled, "...배고파요"

🙂where do your morals lie?

"Hmph. What a complete 180 of a question..." Her lips pursed into a pout. She offered up a quick glare, but it didn't last very long at all, "I'm just trying my best to exist and let others exist at the moment!" She beamed with the flip of a switch, her suspiciously innocent smile nearly blinding. She kept this one brief. Barely an answer.

🥰do you think you're attractive?

"Yes," The woman answered... almost too quickly, "I like how I look. I spend a lot of time on myself, so it's only natural to get a bit of an ego boost from that, yes? Confidence is a healthy thing! I spent a lot of time carefully crafting my sense of style, it makes me feel... like me." Yuu momentarily fluttered her lashes, accompanied by laughter through a rhythmic tease, "Come onnnn~ you get it, right? You know I'm just a sweetheart? Completely innocent and well-meaning? Aren't I just like a princess? Of COURSE I'm attractive."

😍are you a romantic?

"....Hm," The woman paused, thinking deeply about the question in a moment of silence, "It depends on what your definition of 'romantic' is in this case, but I'd say I'm rather neutral. It's been awhile since I've been in a relationship myself, so I can't really say for sure..." Yuu tilted her head, crossing one leg over the other as she leaned back in her seat. Striking a pose to simply ponder.

"I'm not a hopeless romantic, but I highly value romantic gestures. Does that make sense? I particularly value physical touch along with gift receiving as far as love language goes. At least, that's how it used to be with my ex-girlfriend. I don't think that has changed too much. So, hey! If you're interested, feel free to just hand over your credit card as a gift, I'll get back to you," The woman finished with a joke, attempting to turn the mood away from being sour.

"ALSO HELLO YUU SHI YOU ARE GORGEOUS HELLO LIKE ARE YOU AN ANGLE FROM HEAVEN??? CAUSE YOU'RE A-CUTE"

The prefect blinked, leaving an uncomfortable amount of awkward silence as she read the words on the page of (imaginary) interview questions.

She held back a snort, doing her best to hide a guilty grin along with her horrible sense of humor, "Wh-Who wrote this? Who wrote these questions?" She giggled to herself, setting down the page in finality, "Sevens, that's awful... I love it. I'm well aware, but thank you. I needed the laugh today."

Synopsis: Twst boys response when you ask them to dive into your soul.

Context! To ensure the mental and spiritual safety of a Reyvateil is not in jeopardy, someone(usually the hero/assigned bodyguard) would go through a psychological dive usually via a Diving Machine. This will allow the consciousness of the Guardian to enter the Reyvateil to remove any of the conflicts/ noises that are hazardous to the Reyvateil's health.

Hello anon! This prompt fitted Ace so perfectly! You could tell that I was having a bit too much fun with this (it has the basketball club). I hope that you enjoy! 😁

Prompt: 05. I’m a pro-athlete at a press conference and I make a comment to my buddy about you because I forgot my mic was on

Note: Modern au, aged up characters, twst basketball club are pro players, Floyd being chaotic, and Jamil dealing with it. FLUFF.

"Ace, what are your thoughts about tonight's game?"

Ace smirked and confidently looked at the reporter. "You could say it was teamwork that helped us beat Noble Bell, but my winning shot was where I scored that 3-pointer."

Floyd, who sat next to him, merely rolled his eyes. "Neh Crabby, it was really me scoring that awesome dunk." He made the motion of a dunk, causing the reporters to laugh. Ace laughed along with them as he turned off his mic.

It was Jamil, the team captain's, turn to speak when Ace recalled back to the game. It was the semifinals, and although Noble Bell was a formidable opponent. They were not as tough as RSA, their opponent at the finals. RSA was filled with talented players, but they were snotty, pampered princes that made Ace want to barf. 

"Psst."

Ace could not wait to return to the hotel room and watch the replays. He needed to improve before the next match. He could imagine watching the ball as it goes through the hoop and-

"PSST!"

"What?" Ace hissed under his breath, his daydream gone. His eyes briefly glanced at Jamil, who was still answering his question, and Floyd, who looked at him with a pleased look.

"I'm bored. Let's play I Spy," Floyd whispered like a kid. 

Ace blinked. He would never get what goes through his teammate's mind. "What are-"

Floyd grinned. "I'll go first!" His bi-colored eyes scanned the crowd, looking closely at the reporters. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he leaned towards Ace. "I spy someone wearing a shrimp-patterned blouse."

Ace raised an eyebrow. "A shrimp-patterned blouse? You must be seeing things."

Floyd shook his head. "Hah? It actually exists. See for yourself." He jutted his chin to point at the crowd. 

Ace rolled his eyes but decided to look anyway. Jamil was going on about the game, and it would take a while before they moved to the next question. Ace leaned forward slightly and scanned the crowd. One reporter had a solid-colored shirt, and another had a simple patterned one. None of them matched Floyd's description. He was ready to dismiss Floyd's claim, and then he saw it.

In the middle of the crowd was a girl patiently waiting her turn with her list of pre-drafted questions. Ace was too focused on her outfit to notice the same face staring back at him.

(Ace would later learn from his future girlfriend that he was not subtle at all). 

"That is the ugliest blouse I have ever seen."

It was like someone scratched a record. Jamil's jaw dropped, and the team stayed silent. All eyes turned to the girl, and Floyd burst out in laughter. 

"Wow, Crabby! You really messed up there!"

Ace's eyes widened, and his ears turned red. He didn't know his mic was on! It was not supposed to be on in the first place!

Jamil, trying to save face, chimed in. "What he means is that your blouse is very unique. He has never seen that before."

Floyd, while still laughing, turned his mic on. "I like your blouse! It's very cool, Shrimpy. Let me take a closer look!" He suddenly jumped over the table and maneuvered through the crowd to get to 'Shrimpy' while repeatedly asking, "Can I?" The press and NRC's PR team immediately ran to him to stop him from hurting others or squeezing the poor girl too hard. 

Meanwhile, Ace covered his face in his hands and groaned. Of course, the mic also picked that up, but Ace was too embarrassed to care. 

Jamil rolled his eyes and leaned back. He was not bothered by it because this was how chaotic a typical press conference would go anyway. At least Floyd broke his personal record of how long it would take for him to jump over the table and go to the crowd. Jamil was grateful for that.

After Jamil's stern lecture about when to shut up and how to treat women, Ace had no choice but to find the girl and apologize. 

"Can I watch? I want to see my new friend slap Crabby!" Floyd had said before proceeding to be dragged away by Jamil. 

Ace had found the girl near the stadium's entrance finishing up her notes. He sighed and made his way to her. He stopped until he was a few feet away from her and cleared his throat to get her attention. The girl looked up, and Ace felt his heart stop. The girl before him was beautiful, especially with the big gemstone-like eyes staring at him. Of course, she still wore the shrimp-pattern blouse. 

"It's you. Ace, right? Do you need something?"

Ace ran his hand through his hair. He looked away, and a blush formed on his face. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier."

The girl smiled. "I forgive you. I didn't mind the comment anyway."

Ace turned to the girl, his eyes wide. "What? What do you mean?"

The girl laughed and picked at the collar of her blouse. "This blouse is a gift from my friend. He thought it would be hilarious for me to wear it since it would make me stand out. Which it did." 

Ace could not believe it. He expected her to yell or slap him. He was not expecting this. "If you didn't mind the comment, then you should burn that blouse. I'm pretty sure it is all over Magicam right now."

The girl grinned mischievously. "Oh, I know it is. In fact, I might wear it on the red carpet of Vil Schoenheit's next big premiere. My friend, Epel, the one who bought me this, would love to see his reaction." She finished it with a laugh. 

Ace laughed with her. "Well, I want to see that. I would love to get pictures of it."

"How do you plan on doing that? You don't have my number." She asked slyly, and Ace played along. 

"How about I give it to you? That way, you could send me the proof."

The girl hummed in thought. "Well, I could do that, but how about I do that after you take me out on a date? That way, we both benefit from this." 

Ace grinned boyishly. "There is a bakery nearby that I've always wanted to try. I heard it has good strawberry tarts and cherry pie."

The girl smiled. "It's a date." She turned her papers over until she found a blank one, ripped part of it out, scribbled some stuff, and handed it to him. 

Ace grabbed the paper and found not only her number but a name too. "I'll text you the details later, Yuu."

"I look forward to it."

Bonus:

"Wow, you were right! These strawberry tarts are good!" Yuu moaned. She had messily eaten her tart, and her mouth was covered in strawberries and filling. 

Ace laughed and picked up a napkin. "Here, let me get that for you." He said and wiped Yuu's face. The two maintained eye contact long after Ace was done. They both felt an invisible pull and began leaning forward. Ace placed his free hand behind Yuu's chair, and Yuu grabbed Ace'a arm. The two were only a centimeter away from each other when-

"SHRIMPY!!!" 

Yuu and Ace immediately pulled away to find Floyd running towards them at top speed. Ace instinctively grabbed Yuu and pulled her towards him, using his body as protection. Suddenly, Jamil appeared, looking like he ran a marathon, and tackled Floyd. 

"No fair! I wanted to stop Ace from kissing my new friend!" Floyd cried out, causing the other two to blush. 

"You are ruining their date!" Jamil gritted out as he grabbed Floyd's shirt. He gave the two an apologetic look and dragged Floyd away.

Ace and Yuu watched the two in silence. They had no idea what just happened, and the atmosphere they once had was gone. 

Yuu turned to Ace, a concerned look on her face. "Is that normal?"

Ace sighed. "Sadly."

Author's Notes: "Yuu" is a character who has been around as an idea for a long time, approximately just as long as Jocia, but she wasn't anything more than a plot device until around 2018. I finally fully developed her and gave her a set design and personality that was more than just "Jocia's twin." Previously she acted as a goal to work towards in some of my stories, but now she often takes on the role of antagonist or a foil character.

I love reading source material for disney movies. I just read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and it's just like. "Holy shit was that a heartslabyul reference? Is that where twst got it from???"

Haven't watched the movies in years but I love the book. You know why I really love the book? There are charcters that didnt show up in the movie and I can make OCs!

In the book, the one who escorts Alice to the "who stole the tarts" trial (refrence) is a gryphon. Which is kind of like the queen of hearts pet? And I like him, so I made an oc.

His name is Geode, he's a (held back) third year in heartslabyul, and he's from the queendom of Roses. He got held back because he found lessons dreadfully boring and thought they took to long, so he never payed attention and got held back. He likes to sing, dance, and tell stories, as long as they don't get boring.

He's 19 years old.

He's a gryphon fae.

Tall. Tall as hell. About 6'4.

Literally eagle eyed. They're very pretty and would be a little scary his his personality wasn't. Like that.

His best friend is twisted from the mock turtle (I haven't really worked him out yet)

His hair is... he cuts it in the bathroom at night or he just pays Mock Turtle™ to cut it for him, but that doesn't really work out very well cause MT is always crying about something. It's layered but the layers are very choppy. His hair comes out in feather like tuffs though so it looks more artfully messy rather than a straight up abomination. It goes just beyond his shoulder blades.

Spend most of his day taking naps for chilling in the sun with MT, waiting for him to stop crying for 5 seconds so Geode can ask to copy his ancient curses homework.

He's basically a strange combination of leonas lazy habits and floyd attention span but it somehow all flies under Riddles radar. Mostly.

I've never actually read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, though I think I listened to an audio book of Through the Looking Glass when i was younger? It's on my list to read for this year though, I owe it to myself as both a Lolita and a twst fan. The idea of the queen having a Griffon pet is interesting σ(￣、￣=) Poor Mock Turtle I hope he has access to tissues. I feel like Geo is getting collared on the daily, maybe he and Ace can have a little competition to see who gets away with the most shit.

He looked too soft and pretty until I drew his eyes, then he actually got a bit scary. I made his ears look like that since I thought a bird like fae would be similar to FFXIV Suzaku in her human form

I hope you do more with him! He sounds very fun!
