Eri is said to be the original legendary cultural head of the Umu-eri groups of the Igbo people. Eri established a community in the middle of Anambra river valley (at Eri-aka) in Aguleri where he married two wives. The first wife, Nneamakụ, bore him five children. The first was Agulu, the founder of Aguleri (The ancestral head of Eri Kingdom clans) (the Ezeora dynasty that has produced 34 kings till date in Enugwu Aguleri), the second was Menri, the founder of Umunri / Kingdom of Nri, followed by Onugu, the founder of Igbariam and Ogbodulu, the founder of Amanuke. The fifth one was a daughter called Iguedo, who is said to have borne the founders of Nteje, and Awkuzu, Ogbunike, Umuleri, Nando and Ogboli in Onitsha. As one of the children of Eri, Menri migrated from Aguleri, which was and still is, the ancestral temple of the entire Umu-Eri (Umu-Eri and Umu-Nri). His second wife Oboli begot Ọnọja, the only son who founded the Igala Kingdom in Kogi State.

Eri is the founder of the Umueri and Umunri clans, both of whom were some of the most influential and powerful dynasties of priests and diviners in Igboland and adjacent areas such as the Bini and Igala/Idoma areas

When Eri was sent by Chukwu from the sky to the earth, he sat on an ant-hill because he saw watery marshy earth. When Eri complained to Chukwu, Chukwu sent an Awka blacksmith with his fiery bellows and charcoal to dry the earth. After the assignment, the Awka blacksmith was given ọfọ as a mark of authority for his smithing profession. While Eri lived, Chukwu fed him and his people with azu-igwe. But this special food ceased after the death of Eri. Nri, one of his sons, complained to Chukwu for food. Chukwu ordered Nri to sacrifice his first son and daughter and bury them in separate graves. Nri complied with it. Later after three Igbo-weeks (12 days) yam grew from the grave of the son and coco yam from that of the daughter. When Nri and his people ate these, they slept for the first time; later still Nri killed a male and a female slave burying them separately. Again, after Izu Ato, an oil palm grew from the grave of the male slave, and a bread fruit tree (ukwa) from that of the female-slave. With this new food supply, Nri and his people ate and prospered. Chukwu asked him to distribute the new food items to all people but Nri refused because he bought them at the cost of sacrificing his own children and slaves. Nri and Chukwu made an agreement. According to M. D. W. Jeffreys (1956:123), a tradition has it that:

"As a reward for distributing food to the other towns, Nri would have the right of cleansing every town of an abomination (nso) or breach, and of tying the Ngulu (ankle cords) when a man takes the title of ozo. Also he and his successor’s would have the privilege of making the Oguji, or yam medicine, each year for ensuring a plentiful supply of yams in all surrounding towns, or in all towns that subjected themselves to the Eze Nri. For this medicine all the surrounding towns would come in and pay tribute and Umunmdri people then could travel unarmed through the world and no one would attack or harm them" 

Another legend holds that Eri was one of the seven sons of Gad, who was himself one of the twelve sons of Jacob. He left the area together with his brothers Areli and Arodi and settled in the west bank of the Niger river in the present Anambra state, where Eri had a son called Aguleri who became the father of most of the Igbo clans

The event is poised to draw dignitaries from across the Country and Businesses. Enyimba Economic City and Geometric AIPP are jointly financed by African Export Import Bank, Cairo, Egypt, at the back of each other. Geometric AIPP is the Bank’s recognized power partner for Enyimba Economic City, with which it has signed a 90MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for First Phase of Enyimba Economic City. This momentous occasion therefore, not only signifies the launch of Geometric Power operation but also marks the significant step towards the take-off of $288.7 million, first phase of the project. Enyimba Economic City is located in 3 local governments of Abia State, Ukwa West, Ukwa East and Ugwunagbo with growth sectors in Manufacturing, Logistics, Healthcare, Entertainment, Education, Innovation and Technology Hub, Commercial, Lifestyle Residential and Aviation. First Phase of the project is 1,499 Hectares of land that includes First Industrial Township and Logistics Park with Full Origin and Destination (OD) Inland Port connected by rail to both Port Harcourt and Onne Seaports. On November 14, 2023, the Board of Afreximbank approved $201.7million syndicated debt for the project with Afreximbank underwriting $150million. Currently, the loan legal documentation is ongoing. The two (2) interstate highways that are vital for connectivity for the project, Enugu – Port Harcourt (200km) and Onitsha – Owerri – Aba (161km) are also concessioned to a Consortium led by Enyimba Economic City Development Company FZE that includes CCECC Nigeria Limited (EPC), Escher Silverman Global, UK (Technical), Instatoll of South Africa (Operations & Management) and Afrinvest (WA) Limited (Financial). Route Survey, Redesign, Traffic Studies, Revenue Modelling, Willingness to Pay Studies, are currently ongoing on the roads. With the planned 82km highway from Azumini in Abia State bisecting the A3-Enugu Port Harcourt Highway to Obinze in Owerri, the intervention on the external connectivity makes Enyimba Economic City 90 minutes driving distance accessible to the 11 states of Southsouth/Southeast of Nigeria and connected to economic activities of the whole Nigeria. The intermodal logistics, road, rail, airport and seaports is also planned to make Enyimba Economic City “The Strategic Global Business Hub in Africa” and African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) compliant. Biafra Sovereignty: Panacea to Igbo Hatred in Nigeria.

There has been deep-rooted hatred against Igbo tribe (part of Biafra) in Nigeria since time immemorial. It is caused by jealousy and inferiority complex, on the part of Hausa/Fulani leaders, with Yoruba collaborators. They discovered the ingenuity of this group of people in Southern Nigeria, even before Nigerian independence. These Biafrans are very intelligent, creative, and industrious, like the Jews.

Therefore, they are hated and despised in Nigeria, just like the Jews by Egyptians of the old. Our people have been relegated to the background by our taskmasters. The latter are doing everything possible within their limits, to subjugate and kill our God-given talents. But, they are not the LORD who created us to be unique.

They have practically excluded us in the scheme of things: including governance and judicial appointments. We play second fiddle to them. Nigeria has been ruled over the decades by mostly mediocre, half-educated, ill-educated juntas, illiterates, as well as foreign impostors. They prefer a foreigner to rule over them than an Igbo man.

Biafra nearly succeeded to become a sovereign nation, during the civil war that ended in January 1970; but for the meddling of Britain, that imperialist nation in Nigeria. Britain supplied arms and ammunition, as well as personnel in exchange of our crude oil. Biafra soldiers were more tactical and fought gallantly. Before then, millions of Igbos scattered all over the country especially in the North, were massacred under the watch and tacit support, of Gowon-led wicked Government.

After the war which ended about 53 years ago, Nigeria ruling juntas came together, and resolved that no Igbo man would ever be allowed to rule Nigeria. That conspiracy has been sustained up to this moment. Peter Obi of Labour Party, was robbed of clear victory in this year (2023) Presidential Election. He is an Igbo man.

The last time somebody from South Eastern Nigeria ruled Nigeria was in 1966, in the person of Aguiyi Ironsi. He lasted for only 6 months, before he was brutally murdered and overthrown by Yakubu Gowon. It’s about 57 year now. No other Igbo man has ever governed the country.

We have been practically excluded from the scheme of things: including governance judicial appointments, industries and infrastructural development. There is hardly any federal industry in South East, to say the least. We have the least number of states among the six geo-political zones in the country. We have five, while others have six or seven. A lot of our communities were ceded to neighbouring geo-political zones after the civil war, in the name of boundary adjustment. For instance, Obigbo and part of Ukwa communities, were annexed to River State. These are pure wickedness orchestrated against us, by our occult rulers.

Nigeria is a lawless country under dictatorship. Nnamdi Kanu the Biafran leader is still being detained in DSS dungeon, despite several court orders to release him. World leaders, and almost all countries in the world, have called on Nigerian adamant ruler to release him. The LORD God we serve, will deliver us from the clutches of our own Pharaoh, and his idolatrous surrogates.

The recent stolen mandate of Peter Obi in 2023 Presidential election has proven that no Igbo will be allowed to govern this country. His labour Party won with a wide margin followed by People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the ruling APC can third. Fulanis have been holding sway as Chairman of Nigerian electoral body INEC for about sixteen years. They do the bidding of those who placed them there.

Isiguzoro said failure to do so will only deepen the discontent and exacerbate the grievances of the Igbo population. He listed the demands to include: “Creation of Aba State: Ohanaeze Ndigbo has long advocated for the creation of an additional state in the Southeast. The choice of Aba State has been carefully considered and is supported by the majority of the Igbo population. Immediate Release of Nnamdi Kanu: Ohanaeze Ndigbo insists on President Tinubu’s intervention for the prompt release of the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, before December. This act of clemency is essential to restore peace and harmony in the volatile Southeast, allowing our people to celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays without fear. Massive Developmental Projects: Ohanaeze Ndigbo demands the implementation of transformative projects, such as the construction of a Deep Sea Port in Azumiri Blue River in Ukwa East LGA, Abia State, and the establishment of standard gauge railway lines connecting strategic locations within the Southeast. These initiatives will foster economic growth and alleviate the hardships caused by the removal of fuel subsidies. Reconstruction of Federal Roads with Cement Technology: The dilapidated state of federal roads in the Southeast is an urgent concern. Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls for the reconstruction of these roads using modern cement technology, ensuring durability and improved connectivity for our people. Inclusion of Anambra, Enugu, Kogi States in Oil Derivation Allocations: Ohanaeze Ndigbo emphasizes the immediate inclusion of Anambra, Enugu, and Kogi states, recognized by the Buhari administration as oil-producing states from the Old Anambra River basin, to benefit from the 13% oil derivation monthly allocations. This inclusion is a matter of justice and fair distribution of resources. President Tinubu must recognize that the individuals advocating for more appointments in the Federal Executive Council are employing an old elitist strategy to defraud the Igbo people, which has been ongoing since 1999.
