DAY 1: ULTRAKILL

Ultrakill has recently become one of my favorite games, and I have put well over 50 hours into it since November. It is hands down one of the best FPS games I have ever played, but I also really, REALLY love it’s music and art style. But in my posts I plan to go into the story of the games, rather than the gameplay itself. There are thousands of reviews for Ultrakill, this is not one of them.

Ultrakill has probably the best introduction to a game I’ve ever seen. Past the opening options and setup, you get 3 lines that sum up all you really need to know, and is so damn memorable:

You learn more and more about the game’s world by playing through it, but also through the terminal between levels - allowing you to learn the history of all the enemies you’ve encountered - and even your weapons. I absolutely love the subtle worldbuilding these terminal entries have. They are superbly written and explain the subjects place in the world, why it exists, and even some details that really aren’t even necessary - but function to make the low-poly layers of hell that more fluid and alive. 

Take the entry for the Revolver for instance:

“ A weapon created during the Final War for medium-to-long distance combat. Uses electric pulses to fire microscopic pieces of metal at incredibly high speeds.” That’s very literal and basic, right?

“-its ammo is not actually infinite, but it would take weeks of non-stop firing to run out and refilling is as easy as just scraping some flakes from scrap metal or even the gun's surface. In fact, a rough, uneven surface from scraping flakes is considered a point of pride for wielders of electric guns, as it shows the weapon has been reliable and used for a long time. Many users even shave off flakes just for this reason, rather than for actual ammunition, making "unflaked" electric weapons an outlier.” Now that? That is excellent worldbuilding.

If FNKI is going to show up in v7, what do you think they'll react when they'll met again with team RWBY, in particular Yang and Weiss?

I think Neon would probably start flirting with/insulting Yang again and Blake’s protective girlfriend instincts would kick in 😂

And I kinda lowkey ship Flynt and Weiss, not gonna lie, so I would really love to see some more interactions between them. Like, with the backstory of her father putting his dad’s Dust shop out of business but him still admitting Weiss isn’t so bad at the end of the fight in V3 I see real potential there and I’d be here for it.

I think yang having a family is the perfect ending for her. But the only person that would be able to fulfill it is Blake. I see no one else who can. Also the only couples I see having a family in the future of Renora and Bumbleby. Sun and Weiss would be that traveling couple. Also I see sun not wanting to settle down his wanderlust is too strong.

Oh total yes to all of this.
