“Make way for the prince!”

All heads in the medical tent turn at the cry, hands pausing as they nurse the wounded to observe the man who is brought in by a collection of broad, well armed knights. They flank him on either side, iron armor splattered with blood and viscera and rushing between the injured soldiers as they rush their liege towards the back of the tent. 

You follow them at once, wiping your bloodied hands as you catch sight of the man in question. His odd hair marks him apart from his fellows, slick with sweat as it drapes across his forehead. He’s pale, lips devoid of color and eyes fluttering as he tries to rouse himself with little success. Someone has dragged his kilt aside to reveal the arrow protruding from his left shoulder- the feathers streaked with blood. 

Outside, the battle rages on. 

He’s laid on a blanket as you dart to his side, chest thumping wildly as his blue eyes catch yours for only a moment before rolling away. 

“Help him.” One of his knights pleads beside you, brown eyes fearful and desperate as he tugs at your sleeve. “Please.”

You nod numbly, wiping your hands with a wet cloth before falling to your knees beside the young prince. His chest rises shallow under your hands, and as you fumble with his shirt a second pair of gauntleted hands tears it apart so you can place your palms against his hair, blood soaked chest. 

“I need space to work.” You tell them hoarsely, chest clenching at the thought it may be your head if you are unable to save him. 

“I’m not leaving him-” The knight from before gasps, wild eyed and distraught before his older fellow places a hand on his shoulder.

“Gaz.” The knight captain warns. “We’re still needed.”

Gaz stares at his liege in distress, looking to your own gaze desperately with a wordless plea. 

Save him.

“Ghost.” The knight captain says, and the larger, dark clad knight lingers at the foot of the blanket, fists clenched and jaw clenched as he regards the feverish young prince mumble something in his barely lucid state. The look he offers you have you swallow hard around the fear in your throat, promising a tumultuous and uncertain future should you fail your duty. He too vanishes, leaving you alone with the young prince. 

You work quickly, ignoring the impending threat should you fail, the shaking of your hands as blood continue to spill forth. You press hard on the wound, feel blood gush around your fingers until it mercifully begins to stem, all while he trembles beneath your fingers. 

He chokes on the pain, the young prince, eyes rolling and skin slick with a cold sweat as his body tries vainly to recover itself from the arrow that was lodged deep into his chest. You whisper the prayers of saints as you bend over him, tongue narrowly avoiding the rotes of the dead as the prince whimpers from the agony of his wound.

He rouses at one point, head rolling towards you and examining you through lidded eyes. His lips move, trying to form words as his brow furrows, blinking slowly as observing your frightened eyes. 

“Càr-aingeal.” He slurs, and his head falls backwards once more. You recognize his tongue, blinking at the delusional rambling of “Guardian angel.” and reminding yourself the warmth on your face is only that of exertion.

You panic when his heartbeat begins to slow under your hands. He’s no longer bleeding, but the sudden steadiness of it has you pressing an ear to his bloody chest to listen to the thrum of it inside the cage of ribs. Yet his breathing has calmed, chest rising strong and steady despite his sickly pale complexion. 

You thank the saints that he is as strong as he is.

It takes time to wipe the blood free, to stitch his wound closed with clean thread, and you watch his sleeping face contort with pain as you work, face warming with the realization that despite the grimace, the prince is handsome.

The battle has begun to quiet outside, but wounded still flow into the tent. You refuse to leave the prince’s side unless his health suddenly turns. His skin is cold from blood loss, and in your desperate attempt to warm him you find yourself laying beside him, praying and attempting to imbue some of your own warmth to him. 

It’s dark when you awake. 

There’s a hand stroking your cheek. 

You raise your head drowsily, scarcely avoiding a gasp when you discover the weary, gaunt gaze of the prince regarding you with fondness. 

“Wondered if I dreamt ye.” He tells you quietly, his other arm limp at his side, bandaged and bound. “Thought maybe ye’d come to collect my soul or summat.”

You gasp some sort of flustered excuse, trying to move away, only for his arm to keep you close. 

“Stay.” He pleads, rather than demands, eyes tired and soft. “You’re warm.”

That’s likely true, if only because your face feels aflame.

Still, you obligate his request, tucking yourself small but hesitant against his bare side. 

The prince, Soap as he would tell you in the coming days where you nurse him back to health, sighs in contentment, eyes fluttering. 

“An angel.” He whispers, as if to himself, and you raise your head only to watch his handsome face go blissfully slack with sleep. 

You find, as you drift to sleep beside him, that your hearts beat in sync.

Based on our whole headcanon that it’s more common to get applin themed accessories for your lover in modern days then to get an actual applin for them, I feel like Pecha jumps on this Galarian tradition with how hopeless romantic she is. Also Pecha, of course, wants to make it herself.

Since she wants it to be practical and useful for him to wear often, she settles on making a watch. Which is easier said then done as she’s never made a watch before but hey! She likes the excuse on how to make one (plus she starts months in advance in order to make sure its good)

She asks him to close his eyes and hold out his hand so she can put it on him and then goes “um…tada!” When she does ❤️

Since it’s Valentine’s Day and tickle Tuesday would any of our favorite boys have giggly valentines?

Oh, ABSOLUTELY. If any of the boys know you like it, they’ll absolutely use it to bring you pleasure all night.

This little tease would be allll over it, and not just at night. Raised fingers, deliberate touches that aren’t enough to actually tickle, little remarks- everything will be there, but he won’t touch you. Not until late at night after serenading you, then he won’t hold back until you’re screaming his name.

Same with this one, but on a very different scale. He won’t touch you all day- in fact, he won’t acknowledge it at all. He’ll lavish you with expensive gifts, take you out to the finest restaurants and wines, and then when you’re tied up for him at night he’ll make you beg. You’ll release over and over until you’re overstimulated and begging, and then he’ll use his lips to bring you to the edge again. The man is a master of your body, and he’ll always be sure to pamper you once he’s finished playing.

this valentine’s day i would like to profess my undying, ardent love for the callistephus chinensis (china aster)! the flower that contributed to me giving myself my name!!

not only are they a part of the (superior in my opinion) family of asteraceae, but also the genus’ (callistephus) etymology is derived from the greek words “kalli-” meaning “beautiful” and “stephos” meaning crown. they have beautiful chrysanthemum-esque blooms and come in all sorts of colours (my favourites being purple and white).

straying away from taxonomy a bit, asters in general are one of the birth flowers for september (my birth month!). they symbolise hope, faith and wisdom. and according to greek mythology, astraea (“star maiden”: goddess of purity, justice and innocence) cried because there weren't enough stars in the sky and when her tears hit the earth, they caused asters to bloom! continuing to follow the greek myth, she was the last goddess to live amongst the humans after the golden age, symbolising the decline of hope for humanity along with the decline of the ages. she left and became the constellation virgo i believe!

some more fun fun facts, asters have a most frequently observed number of n = 9 haploid chromosomes (2n = 18 for diploid). the numerology of the word “aster” also happens to be nine and guess what! september is the 9th month of the year! is it obvious i really like the number 9? almost as much as i love asters <3

Part of it would depend on who is partner is. He won't pop the question unless there is a 99.7% chance of success (with 0.3% accounting for unforeseen circumstances). However, he is capable of asking first and doesn't expect his partner to, but will be pleasantly surprised if they do.

Connor would love to get married, assuming the laws for marrying androids is passed. While one about two androids marrying is likely to be passed sooner than most, marriage between a human and an android could take longer and would be something Connor is willing to fight for if that is the case (and something he supports even if it's not). He likes the idea of being connected in that way, and as silly as a piece of paper might seem, being listed as family means he has more visitation rights should his partner be injured.

Connor does like some pet names. Nothing too crazy, but he does like to be called honey, darling, or love. Being called babe doesn't sound right to him, but in the right circumstances and with the right partner, he can approve it. Connor also isn't likely to be the first to start with pet names, in case his partner doesn't like them, but usually sticks with the basic three listed above, sometimes diverging if he thinks of one that fits his partner better.

Yes. It comes naturally to him, being a detective android, and his experience with people, both humans and androids, makes him worry about backlash from his own actions. Perhaps he's a little too paranoid, but in large crowds, he tends to want to keep his partner as close as possible and will sometimes scan the area, becoming distracted if his partner is trying to talk to him. It's purely for the safety of his lover, always wanting them to be safe from harm.
