Mikaelsons Black History Month

First off, I’m starting by saying that even though it is no longer Black history month it will always be melanin everyday and black people every day. And everything else under the sun, and if you don’t like it then the exit is to your left. Everything you own in the box to the left

Being part of the Mikaelsons is very fickle business and be some bs. Like really, you’re here with supernatural beings who are over 1000 years old. Who have traveled the world, gained endless knowledge, seen a lot of bloodshed, but you know what they haven’t seen? Their token human (black ofc) being ignant for black history month, I mean who even fully celebrates? How does one even celebrate?

Granted, they’re not racist. But with the writing Julie Pleck did she was playing honestly. That was the worst writing I've ever seen since who knows when. Maybe the nine lives of Chloe king or something? But in my originals universe they were probably racist in the beginning to an extent then grew out of it.

Anyways, they never met someone who celebrated until they met you!

Now…. picture this: A moderately quiet day in the Mikaelson household. Kol is minding his business for once, Rebekah is trying to find the perfect pics for her next instagram post, Elijah is enjoying a good read, and Klaus is organizing his art materials. But then here comes you, the human, opening the door and walking right in like you pay bills (none of them do but you get the picture) in the midst of the most deadly people. Walking in and greeting everyone, walking in with the most hotep, Dr. Umar bullshit getup they ever seen. Coming to America headass.

They recognize your footsteps from a mile away, so when you walk into the kitchen and no one really looks up at first it’ll be a sight to see a whole ass pelted lion on your back. The kente cloth hat (no idea the actual name for it, sorry babes), a saber tooth necklace (for my mans T’Challa), and the red stiletto nails with the afro out here banging.

Once Elijah is done with his page he looks up to greet you, but then stops… Bitch, fuck is you wearing? This was worlds away from the sweats, and skinny jeans you wore on the daily.

“Greetings Y/N you look…. Fashionable.” Mans didn’t know what to say. Did he miss something about your Africna roots? Was there a holiday he hadn’t heard of, doubt it, but what else was there?

“Thank you Elijah.” You fluff out your lion pelt for added effect, if there was ever going to be one time you outdo the Mikaelsons’ especially Elijah in being dramatic with a coat or cloak of somesort, it would be now.

At this point the Kol and Rebekah have already looked up and were confused. Why are you dressed like that?

Kol is the first one to speak up “Darling, Rebekah likes a fashion show more than anyone, but why do you have a lion… on your shoulder.”

Lifting up your large ass shades you supplied an answer: “Black History Month”

They all looked at each other… they didn’t get it. Like they know what it is, but never actually understood how to celebrate and all that nor did they ever actually give it mind. When you saw that they weren’t making a connection, you started phase 1.

“Alexa, you know what to do.”

LMFAOOOOO you got the white people shook. Klaus just dropped one of his expensive ass bottles of art sealants and is vamp speeding to the kitchen to figure out what the hell is going on. Elijah having a mid century crisis on how tf they even found you and deemed you worthy of being in their presence so casually. Kol is having fun in the back, still laughing at your get up. And Rebekah wishes she went to the mall instead, she wanted a girl bestie and got you instead rip

“WHAT IN BLAZES- Y/N WHAT ARE YOU DO- WHAT ARE YOU WEARING! ALEXA STOP THE MUSIC-” And the big bad wolf has arrived. You put your finger to Klaus’ lips which stuns him bc… you’re still HOOOMAN like damn, death wish much? And you look this man, straight in his mit and say “Looks at, look at me” and pause for dramatic affect, “I am the captain now”

Room silent as hell till Kol starts cackling

You’ve made Dr. Umar proud, the ancestors are shining on you once again

With that you lead into a whole speech about the black struggle and black history month, bottom line: REPARATIONS. Because being the only nigga in the Mikaelsons (we don’t claim Marcel) is exhausting, white people shit everyday that you complain about in their faces

TBH at this point they’re indulging you in this escapade.

First victim is Elijah, you ask for his wallet. He gives you a look, I mean he does technically give you what you want and whatever (when y’all dating, refer back to my dating Elijah post), so he ask you why. Reparations sis why, but then you stop yourself. This man gives you his wallet every other day, half the time you not even asking. What could you rob this man of…. Ah. You ask him for the deed of one of his estates in Prague, why? Because you bitches can’t even spell Prague. And under section S line 45 subsection Y it does state that estates are eligible for reparations. Fuck 40 acres and a mule, you got 300 acres, some stallions in the back, a quite possibly haunted mansion, and a heavy dicked (yeah I said it, a sis been trying to reality shift) original who will turn you out by the end of the day and the end of the month…. But you know who else what about it? Kol (tbh mans had nothing but time, and he claims you so why tf not.) he out here NY stomping on her and coming at her for badly glued extensions. Cheap ass bitch, ain’t even blend in correctly.

After that Kol and you left with some groceries, a new story to tell, and a chopped cheese.

With Klaus, he frfr wasn’t finna do shit. Being ordered my a human? Lmfao, go find another simp sis. But… once you suggest that his art skills may not be up to par on what you have in mind as a new family room piece for your house he’s all ears. He knows what you’re doing, but… he still wants to prove you wrong. But anyways, you give him a theme… reverse racism. IK y’all, it’s not a thing, but mans has ideas. And he outdoes himself. That and the recreation of the moorish chief bc that man...mmmmm that man was giving.

Rebekah tbh wants no part in this, but I feel like she’d gave when you ask her to give you all the finest dresses bc it’s an excuse to exhaust Klaus’ money.

Through the month you give the Mikaelsons a run for their money, and maybe sanity. Klaus is in the back trying to research who tf Dr. Umar is and why is he your inspiration

So I watched TVD during quarantine last year, and even though I swore to never watch another Julie Plec show again, I’m watching TO! I thought I’d share my thoughts, let people read my clueless predictions or my feelings about Klamille. You can find my reviews of S1 and S2 on my blog.

how does jeremy feel about the originals? specially klaus.

SO, since you specifically pointed out klaus, i’ll start with him, because jeremy actually has a lot of conflicting feelings in regards to them all, and a lot of them don’t even really make sense to him, despite the fact that he’s the one who feels them. in general, though, it’s important to note that jeremy... is not actually afraid of any of them? it’s not because he doesn’t recognize them as powerful, not at all - it’s much more along the lines of he’s just... dumb. and the fact that, in general, because he’s died multiple times, he isn’t... afraid of death in the same way most people are. it’s largely focused on the fact that i believe that the biggest threat the mikaelsons pose is the fact that they are incredibly strong and can overpower you easily, all while being virtually unkillable (or, rather, incredibly hard to kill, but that’s besides the point), and.... jeremy looks at that and kind of just, “what’s the worst they can do? kill me? been there. done that.” he’s no longer afraid to die, so someone whose fear is based on that, isn’t going to scare him the way they scare normal people. it’s ALSO important to note that jeremy quite literally walks through life under the belief that he’s got nothing left to lose. family, friends, they’re all gone in his eyes, and losing his life isn’t something he’s worried about, so there really isn’t anything they can take from him. he acknowledges that the originals are powerful, but when you’ve got nothing to lose, what power could someone hold over you? there is, of course, always the idea/threat of torture, but THAT is not something jeremy has ever come into contact with, surprisingly, so he doesn’t even consider it. it’s POSSIBLE, but not something he thinks about.

i will also only be writing about the Main Four ( klaus, kol, elijah, & rebekah ), bc jeremy doesn’t really know/has never met the others.

for KLAUS, jeremy... largely doesn’t really have an opinion on him. in the early seasons, he appreciates that klaus wants intends to kill elena in the ritual - mostly because jeremy holds a resentment for her that means he wouldn’t exactly cry if she died. but after that, the ritual is done, and...? after klaus turns into a hybrid, jeremy doesn’t really have any reason to spare klaus a second thought - at least not as far as canon is concerned. he does very much hate klaus because it’s klaus who sends kol to denver to spy, and kol and his betrayal is something that negatively impacts jeremy for quite literally the rest of his life, but even then, his anger and hurt is very much focused on kol, and not so much on klaus. so in a lot of ways, he just doesn’t care about klaus. now, rp-wise, for a long time i’d sort of had this running joke that klaus was the only mikaelson that jeremy wasn’t sexually attracted to, BUT THEN CLAUDIA CAME ALONG, and now he’s like “you know what... i’d be into it” so it’s not really a Thing anymore. so... yeah, that’s jeremy’s thoughts on klaus.

now, KOL... is a bit of a traumatic sore spot for jeremy. i do believe that in denver, regardless of whether or not anything happened between them, jeremy had begun to form a crush on kol. and this is, probably, the ONLY genuine crush jeremy has ever had. they were friends - or at least, jeremy thought they were - first and foremost, and it was something that gradually grew into the beginnings of a crush, the first time it was actual emotion that led to that point for him, and not just an infatuation. so, not only was discovering kol’s betrayal the loss of a friendship for him, but it was also the realization that this guy, the first guy he’d ever had a Proper Crush on, was someone who was only using him, that really messed him up. BUT, i do not adhere to the idea that jeremy and elena teamed up to kill kol in the kitchen of the gilbert house. point blank, no matter how upset he is about discovering kol’s true intentions, he would never do that. he still looks back at their time in denver as a friendship, and even if they are “no longer friends” he would never betray a friend like that. so when i get to that part in my canon rewrite, it will either be written out entirely, and saying that someone else helped elena, OR jeremy will tell kol about elena’s plan and they’d team up to fake kol’s death.

for ELIJAH... jeremy laid eyes on him in season 2 and went “that is a Man” and has sort of had this insane attraction to him ever since. as far as personality wise, jeremy literally does NOT have an opinion, because he doesn’t know elijah that well (i honestly don’t think they ever spoke to each other on the show? not that i can remember at least), so he’s just... very, very attracted to him. do i think it’s really funny to imagine elijah walking around mystic falls with this 15/16 year old boy absolutely Simping over him every goddamn time he sees him? yes, it’s hilarious to me, i love it, 10/10. but yeah, he doesn’t really know anything about him. i DO think, because of his Simp status, he would be the first to call elijah like “hey you said you’d keep my sister alive and she’s about to do some Dumb Shit again” solely because he wants brownie points?? he just wants elijah’s approval, okay, because no one he knows really gives it to him, and elijah doesn’t really know him, so he hopes he can get his approval BECAUSE of the fact that he doesn’t really know him. but yeah, there’s not a lot to work off of in canon, ngl.

for REBEKAH... it’s always been my personal headcanon that if jeremy had gotten the chance to know rebekah, he would have developed a crush on her. from the little he knows about her, he does feel for her, and has a genuine desire to be kind to her in a way that no one in mystic falls really is when she enrolls in school with them and everything? and i think there was a huge missed opportunity to see that dynamic on the show, because it certainly would have happened. and, objectively, he can look at her and go, “if i got to know her and i found her personality appealing, we could be happy together” because he finds her attractive in a way that doesn’t happen very often for him. he thinks she’s strong, and someone who received a lot of hate that wasn’t really deserved, from his sister and her friends. and i will ALWAYS welcome a rebekah coming at me to write something to do with it, because i’ve never gotten the chance and i’d actually really like to tbh. but yeah, that’s really all i can say about rebekah because, again - they didn’t really interact all that much on the show.

I’ve actually been wanting to do a break down of this for a while so lets START. Oldest to youngest!

FREYA MIKAELSON

Elijah’s relationship with Freya started off a bit rocky, but she’s come to be one of the people Elijah trusts the most. They’re team ‘do it for the fam’ together. Ignoring how s4 and 5 really reduced their actual screentime to nearly nothing.... Elijah really cares about Freya, and wants to protect her. He doesn’t really see her as his BIG SISTER, considering she’s a baby and slept for most of her 1000 years. He sees her as another younger sibling, but he also shares with her stuff he wouldn’t share with any of his little siblings.

FINN MIKAELSON

Elijah’s relationship with Finn is... complicated, to say the least xd Growing up, Elijah looked up to his big brother. They grew apart at some point once the other little siblings started to come along. And initially, Elijah did not approve of leaving Finn daggered. Klaus convinced him that it was for the best, to keep Finn safe. To keep Finn away from Mikael; as Finn clearly despised living as a vampire. Who knew what he would do. As the centuries went on, Elijah knew that keeping Finn in the box was wrong - so he started justifying it to himself. Once Mikael was dead, there was no more justification available so he undaggered them all. Of course that didn’t go really as planned. Currently, Elijah KNOWS that he fucked up leaving Finn in the box, and that it was a betrayal. For verses where Finn is still alive, he is trying to repair his relationship with Finn, and make it up to him. Through a very long and very slow process.

KLAUS MIKAELSON

Elijah loves Klaus but he also hates Klaus ngl. Elijah is greaaat at forgiving and pretending everything is fine, but there’s a deep resentment towards Klaus. One he actively ignores - unless he’s pissed at Klaus. He’ll still protect Klaus of course, but Elijah has been hurt by Klaus, daggered by Klaus, betrayed by Klaus, lied to by Klaus, too many times for it just to disappear. Elijah will fight for his brother, protect his brother, fight WITH his brother - but he’s getting to the end of his very very long patience with Klaus.

KOL MIKAELSON

Elijah’s relationship with Kol is also complicated. Elijah loves his little brother, but he knows that by siding with Klaus to dagger Kol has hurt their relationship (even if his justification was because kol’s killings would bring mikael to them). He also finds Kol’s needless slaughters a bit on the garish side, and his utter disinterest to learn control a bit frustrating - but he does love and care about his brother. He wants to work on fixing their relationship. However, he is aware that his hand in Davina’s demise will not make it easy for Kol to forgive him. BUT ALSO; in late and post S4 things - Elijah is hurt by Kol’s actions that nearly ended up with not only his soul being destroyed altogether, then leaving without seeing if he was okay, but also nearly resulting in Freya and Hayley’s deaths as well. He’s not sure how to proceed from that (or if it is even worth trying.)

REBEKAH MIKAELSON

Rebekah is the baby sister, who Elijah adores with his entire heart. If anyone even DARES to think about hurting Rebekah, he will not hesitate to feed them their own eyeballs. He wants Rebekah to be happy, to have a life she wants, but to also be safe. He loves Rebekah SO MUCH.

HENRIK MIKAELSON

Elijah loved his baby bro, and had looked forward to seeing him grow up too. Sadly, that never happened.

LEAH MIKAELSON

Although Leah can be a clear menace, Elijah adores his babiest sister. They may not always get along, and get into the most vicious of fights - often over stupid things too... Elijah adores her. He never likes fighting with her, and her leaving like she did hurt him deeply - but he does forgive her, especially when he understands why she left in the first place. He strives to keep their relationship in a good place. ( @beyondamaged )

Klaus - Klaus Mikaelson, the reason I jumped on this bandwagon like what, 6? years ago? Like from the minute Joseph Morgan walked out of that box thing and then stunned me the next episode I was like yup sign me up for life. I love how completely complex he is, so faceted, he’s trying to hard to change but it’s two steps forward and sometimes three steps back for him but he’s trying so hard to be better for his daughter, for his family. He’s been in his ways for so so so long but he doesn’t want to continue the cycle of abuse with his daughter. Don’t get me wrong, usually I’d rather villains stay villains and don’t always believe they need redeeming, but the fact that Klaus wants to redeem himself, and it’s not for romantic love, it’s for the pure love of his daughter is something that’s not often done and I’m so here for it. Also Klaus’ idea of torture being the very thing Mikael inflicted on him is fucking gold it’s so amazing.Rebekah - Rebekah my Queen. Again I love Rebekah because of how layered she is, the internal tug of war she always has with herself over finding a new life and staying with Klaus becasue he needs her (and she needs him too) I love her relationship with Klaus and how she’s the literal backbone of that family. Rebekah means to bind and she binds them all together and always will imo.

Ngl the order of the next three could change any given episode, but as it stands, like if you’d asked me at the start of s2 it would’ve been K/Fi/Fr, but then if you’d asked me at the end of S3 it would’ve been Fr/Fi/K

Finn - Caspar is the only one who pulled Finn off for me, whilst I adore Yusuf as Vincent, he never pulled off Finn in the way Maisie pulled off Rebekah. So s2 Finn was a big no no for me, but I loved the way they utilised him in s3, and I wish Caspar hadn’t retired from acting so we could’ve used him more, I honestly think that it would’ve been a great plot point had he survived, ended up in a house for 5 years with everyone but Klaus, and managed to actually work out some of his issues with his family, whilst having Freya as a mediator? I’m sad that’s not we got but I am grateful that we had Caspar whilst we did. I love his relationship with Freya, and I actually felt quite sorry for Finn at a time tbh, his family preached about always and forever and sticking together but literally kept him daggered for like 900 years because he was boring???? he was going through some serious shit man, and then you find out he had to lie to them all for years? And his mother manipulated him so fucking much man, now dgmw one of my most hated expressions is “He’s misunderstood” but I actually think that Finn is when you factor in how much Esther manipulated him and continued to do so, yes he was an ass for trying to kill Hope and helping to kill his family, but his reasoning is basically that of like what most people would be like if their family had shit on them for so long? Like y’all can’t honestly tell me that if your family had done the same to you you wouldn’t be like “Fuck yall”

Freya - I liked Freya up until this season? Like I’ve gone through a love/hate relationship with her because she annoyed me in s2 but then last season I loved her and now I feel like she needs to calm the fuck down? Like really? She needs to deal with her issues and stop projecting them onto hope and acting like she doesn’t know that Hope wont end up just as fucked up as her if she had her own way? But last season (and in general) I love how she was just so happy to finally have her family and how she’d do literally anything to protect them and how she’s more of a mikaelson than she thinks she is, because she still feels like she doesn’t quite belong but after all she’s done how can she not be a mikaelson? how can she not be one of them? So yeah... love/hate relationship with freya.

Kol - Kolv*na ruined him. RUINED him. The writers on TO have never really known what to do with Kol, ever. Despised him in s2 because I’m not a DS fan nor am I fan of this constant angsty Kol they have going on. I was actually discussing this the other day with Sahar/ @klausmikelsons about how angsty!kol just doesnt work. Give him humor, give him sass, make him the comedic relief! and you’ve hit gold, but giving him constant anger and angst just doesn’t work out, it’s eyerolling at this point and sometimes i consider him wasted screentime

Elijah - TVD Elijah? Yes. Sign me the fuck up. TO Elijah? Nah. Not so much. I hate what they’re doing to him. I really really do. I hate what he’s turned into. I hate the way they’re ruining him. He’s verging on a caricature
