the way i like my Vlad!Redeption au is where vlad is still an asshole, but he's a lonely asshole. he doesn't do things out of love or the goodness of his heart, he does them because he's a lonely little man with 20 years of isolation and trauma he refuses to unpack and the thought of letting go of the one person who could possibly understand him physically hurts him in every emotional way.

so it's not really a redemption so much as its a one-sided codependency issue

You and Vladdy had been dating for about two years now and he had just asked you to move in with him. You were ecstatic and started packing your stuff quickly. It now has been a couple weeks since you moved in together. You had to admit, living together was a whole experience, yet you couldn’t be more excited.

But it had made you more conscious of how you looked. Vladdy and you had done it loads of times and he had therefore seen you naked countless of times, but now he saw you as you changed clothes or walked out the shower. And when you two are having sex your both in the moment and he wouldn’t notice it so much. What? You wonder? Your love handles. Before you were dating you didn’t mind them that much, you’d always say everyone had them, it’s normal. But now? You were way more focused on them.

You’d take showers when he would work out or when he’d take a nap before a game. You always found the perfect time so he wouldn’t see you. But it seems that he had taken notice of this.

“Why don’t we shower together anymore?” He asked you one day.

“What?” You started, “Oh it’s just easier for me. Showering together takes so long.”

“No, It doesn’t.” He said confused. “In fact I've barely seen you naked at all these past couple of weeks.”

“We’ve had plenty of sex.” You stated.

“Sex, yes. But your beautiful body, I have not seen in forever.” His remark made butterflies appear in your stomach. Yet, you couldn’t tell him what was actually wrong, he would never understand, he might even break up with you.

“Just explain it to me.”

“Just leave it.” You protested.

A couple of days later you checked in on Vladdy. He was sound asleep taking his pre game nap which made you decide to take a quick shower. You washed your hair, lathered your body wash on to your body and finally rinsed off. Stepping out of the shower, you were careful not to slip. You dried yourself off then looked into the mirror and immediately felt disgusted as you saw yourself. You pinched the extra skin between your fingers.

“Is this what’s bothering you?” Vladdy asked carefully. You looked up shocked, your hands flew to your hips and you made every possible movement to cover yourself up.

“Baby, stop.” Vladdy bagged, taking your hands in his. You squeaked. You were fully on display now.

“Do you really feel this insecure around me?” He said, holding you tight, his hand on the back of your head.

“My body… It’s hideous.” You sobbed.

“Don’t ever say that, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on.”

“But, but….look.” You said as you pulled away from Vladdy, pointing to your hips. “Look at these love handles.”

“They're called love handles for a reason. And I love holding them.” He exclaimed, rubbing your hips.

“I love every inch of your body. Please don’t feel bad about it. I love you…��He said and kissed you deeply. “All of you.”
