no but what the fuck i said it back in January when Jack dislocated his shoulder again that he shouldn't have come back, that that boy wasn't fully healed and came back because people kept pressuring him considering the way the media was talking about how his injury was the devils downfall and i don't doubt someone on the team was like you can play through this right, and he's an athlete, athletes are conditioned to play through pain, and hockey is so much worse on that point, and you look at him and you know all he knows is hockey, but he's also a 22 yo who people keep expecting to be this saving grace when he's human and injured but of course he's gonna say, hell yeah i can play and keep his scoring average high and do everything he can for the devils, he's been moving less smootly for weeks, he wasn't shooting as much as he would before, he was playing like someone whos scared to be injured and i was saying his shoulder didn't heal fully thats why Lazar went for the fight after a completely legal hit that threw him on the floor but made him land on his shoulder now he has a ligament tear on the thing that fucking holds his shoulder in place when you could've just let that boy heal when he got boarded the first time in November, but noooo we need Jack, put him in, now were not making playoffs anyway and the boy is looking AT SIX MONTHS OF REHAB FOR A SURGERY HE SHOULDVE GOTTEN DONE IN JANUARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR FUCKS SAKE I HATE THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
While Saint was in the Infinite Forest, the vex would simulate his father dying horrible deaths and Saint would never know if it was really his father or a simulation until the next appearance and then rinse and repeat. :3
OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH hhh I was not expecting this when I got the notification 😭😭 this is so sad! But also we need more of it! More exploration of Saints relationship with his dad 😭😭😭😭😭
these motherfuckers knew what the fuck they were doing when they titled the episode “The Sunken Tomb”, prompting all of us who knew to go “oh shit, this is the episode where Vex dies, but also the one where she comes back and Vax makes his vow to the RQ, and at the end of the episode we’ll see all that happen! right?”
and then the episode kept going and they hadn’t found the sarcophagus yet and my dumb ass didn’t even PAY ATTENTION to the timestamp.
and they ended the episode THERE.
like, fuck me, guys, you really had to pull the rug from under us by ending the episode NOT on Vax storming away after he’s made sure his sister is back but on VAX SOBBING OVER HIS SISTER’S DEAD BODY. like FUCK YOU TOO.
(also it’s fucking brilliant script work on the CR team’s part - what better way to hook in new viewers and those who genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen by ending the first week’s cliffhanger here. brilliant, outstanding, i’m in so much pain)
Okay I'm adding a disclaimer to this post: 1. I only have a passing interest in FF7 and FF7-related material and no horse in this race; 2. I thought I was not as easy as this but apparently I am; 3. I could not care less what other people ship.
That out of the way: Mean quiet man with a code of ethics functioning best within his station and nursing a secret love??? I didn't realise how stupid I'd go for Rude/Tifa - maybe it hits like a sort of courtly romance spot. Moar please. Naturally it is a rarepair of the fandom lol.
One of the reasons I hate love triangles is that I want the love interest to always be the first choice - I find them twee and immature for other reasons - and I think what sort of heightens something which wouldn't normally even inspire me to make a post is that, well, in this instance *gestures to the ship war*. Rude isn't the type of man you'd expect to nurse a secret love, but he has a troubadour's heart, and I think one enduring theme I seem to love is kismet unlikeliness. Then you've also got the Shinra/AVALANCHE thing, he loves a warrior working against his corpo boss 🥺 it really does write itself. He probably admires her tenacity and bravery.
Okay I'm getting carried away now. It can never be.
Just sitting here remembering Bonnie and Twill from Catching Fire…
… and how sad it is that we never see them again. We don’t know what happened to them. Which means they probably didn’t make it. It’s realistic for a war-torn, dystopian country. So I understand the choice as a writer. But it’s so sad.
And now I’m relating their story to Prim’s and it hurts.
Oh, that was done really well. We hear his real phone number earlier in the episode which 1) it's a fairly easy one to remember (obviously on purpose) and 2) it's said very loudly to ensure that we take it in. So in this scene when the switch-up happens, he gives the number so slowly that we remember the previous scene and unconsciously follow along with it, giving an almost instant realization that he's lying. Impeccable foreshadowing and storytelling.
the last episode of Only Friends deserves a comment in polish cause damn: odjebało się. Mew you cold blooded sukinsynu, gratulacje za ta akcje, bo ja genuinely ujebałabym Topa na miejscu.
my final from last semester that i made into a zine. cooked this one up in a couple hours before the critique (the ink was still wet!), so it's very raw and kind of sloppy but the sentiment is there. i love you trans people of color. we are the backbone of this community 🌟
rewatched goncharov last night and im down on my knees foaming at the mouth bc in the market sofia said 'all memory is treachery' and the last thing katya says to her is 'i wonder how you will remember me'
