A Câmara da Lousã entregou a várias instituições locais um novo ‘kit’ de material de proteção que inclui 2.000 máscaras produzidas por 55 costureiras voluntárias, anunciou hoje a autarquia.

Em comunicado, este município do distrito de Coimbra realça que esta é a segunda entrega de material às instituições particulares de solidariedade social (IPSS), “parceiras importantes no suporte social a famílias e grupos de risco” no contexto do combate à pandemia da covid-19.

As máscaras foram manufaturadas por voluntárias da Lousã, no âmbito do projeto de solidariedade “WeSew – Costuramos para proteger”, que nasceu de uma parceria da Câmara de Penela com a empresa ihCare – Innovation Hospital Care, de Coimbra, e a Penelarte – Associação de Apoio ao Artesanato Local.

“Reforçados em quantidade de equipamentos de proteção individual”, incluindo máscaras e produtos de higiene, os novos ‘kits’ contemplaram a Associação para a Recuperação de Cidadãos Inadaptados da Lousã (ARCIL), a Misericórdia da Lousã, a Associação de Defesa do Idoso e da Criança (ADIC) de Vilarinho, o Centro Social do Pinhal, o Centro Paroquial de Solidariedade Social de Serpins, o Centro Social de Casal de Ermio e a Associação Recreativa, Cultural e Social das Gândaras.

Na Lousã, o projeto WeSew (Nós Costuramos) envolveu cerca de 55 voluntárias que, “de forma solidária e gratuita, estão a produzir máscaras e cogulas com material adquirido pela autarquia”, presidida por Luís Antunes.

Este equipamento visa “colmatar as necessidades das entidades e instituições do concelho que, pela natureza das funções desempenhadas pelos seus profissionais, estão mais expostos aos riscos de propagação” da covid-19, segundo a Câmara Municipal.

Citado na nota, Luís Antunes agradece às costureiras que, “de forma desinteressada, estão a desenvolver um trabalho muito relevante”, ajudando a assegurar “melhores condições de proteção” àquelas pessoas.

Portugal contabiliza 973 mortos associados à covid-19 em 24.505 casos confirmados de infeção, segundo o boletim diário da Direção-Geral da Saúde (DGS) sobre a pandemia divulgado hoje.

Relativamente ao dia anterior, há mais 25 mortos (+2,6%) e mais 183 casos de infeção (+0,8%).

Das pessoas infetadas, 980 estão hospitalizadas, das quais 169 em unidades de cuidados intensivos, e o número de casos recuperados passou de 1.389 para 1.470.
