He used to be so shy around people. You probably met when you were shifted into an animal so he actually approached you. Telling him you were a shapeshifter was definitely a shock but he accepted it pretty quickly. It didn't take him long to grow accustomed to all your shapes. He's someone who gets bored easily but because of your ability he never gets really bored. He might say that he gets bored of you, but you know that's just his way of saying he wants to try a new shape. When you are starting to get him horny he won't tell you what he wants. He'd rather have you shift until something strikes his fancy. You can never tell if he wants claws, wings, a tail to pull, a knot to stuff him, or if he wants to play with a size kink. It all depends on his mood. You have gotten really good at reading his eyes to tell you what form he wants. As long as you pick “the right form” he'll let you do whatever you want.

Blade

No matter how hard you try you can not find a form that Blade doesn't think is adorable. It's super endearing and god he's so cute. You show off new forms like how most people show off a new shirt and he has stars in his eyes every time!

You have tried shapeshifting to surprise him before but it never works. Apparently your scent gives you away before you can even get close to him. You can still try to sneak up on him, but he already knows you're there and he's very happy about it.

He's super bashful when he asks if you can shift into something with a fat knot for him. It's so cute how he asks with his tail nervously wagging behind him. Of course you say yes and give him a fantastic night.

Karu

He thinks you're interesting and like him. He's kind of surprised your shapeshifting doesn't come with a personality shift like when he and Garu switch. He gets used to your shenanigans and likes to play along. He likes watching you shift rather than you being in 1 form all the time. To see you shift he will tease you like “I bet you can't turn into X”. You know it's a ploy but he always has the cutest awestruck expression so you don't mind.

He wants to “fight” you all the time. It's mostly playful but he wants to win before he ‘allows’ you to fuck him. He loves getting fucked but he doesn't want to feel dominated. If you can stick with a form about his size and 4 limbs he's happy. Well that and a fat cock is good too.

Dante

Going to be honest he has stumped me for like a week. He knows all his staff by face so when he first sees you he immediately raises red flags. Once he realizes you're a shapeshifter and forgot to put the right face on he calms down. He warms up to you if you offer to be a spy and find bad guys in Solaria.

He doesn't have much experience in bed but will never admit your ability overwhelms him with options. He's kind of vanilla by default but if you ask him to try something he won't say no. In fact he's open to pretty much anything but is too unsure to ask you directly. Take the lead or drop hints if you want to have some real fun.

Rei

Property started getting interested in you because of scientific curiosity, but that slowly morphed into actual romantic feelings. He half thinks you hexed him, but also doesn't think you have that kind of ability. So congratulations your mere experience forced him to confront his real people emotions. He's not happy about it, but he is happy to have you as a partner.

…He keeps a notebook next to the bed to document every detail about every shape you take. You aren't allowed to look at it so you can't “taint the results”. If you ask what he wants he'll just say something like “surprise me” or “anything new”. I have no idea what he would actually like and neither do you.

Eiden

You may not be the first non-human (Blade, Garu, Kuya) he's been with but you are his favorite! He likes to ask you to help him play jokes on his clan members. You're not allowed to shapeshift into Eiden anymore because the clan members got really mad.

He's someone who will try anything once, and with you he can try literally anything! You of course are more than happy to oblige. Whether it's swelling a fat knot in his ass, or triple penetration with tentacles he's going to love experiencing it all with you.

Aster

I hope you don't mind becoming a living doll every once in a while. He's cried using you as a mirror once “do you really see wrinkles by my eyes!”. Honestly, I feel like this is one of the only situations where the yandere version of the characters would actually be nicer and potentially even healthier, at least for Jade.

So consider yourself warned.

Bargain, would they just accept a break-up? Do they mope around or try to fix things? How would they attempt to get you back?

Honestly, I could easily see Floyd going either way. He's definitely not the type to start crying and clinging onto someone as they leave, but he's also definitely not the kind of guy that just lets someone leave either. So if Floyd's getting kind of bored or if he can tell you're just trying to play mind games with him? He'll let you go with zero fanfare. Or, if he's actually annoyed, he'll start rubbing it in and use every one of your closely guarded insecurities against you to ensure your faux tears turn real. Honestly, it's your fault shrimpy, for assuming he wouldn't notice just 'cause he's a little moody. Floyd is eerily perceptive, he just rarely utilizes it for anyone else's gain. Well, besides maybe Jade and occasionally Azul, if he compensates him enough.

But if he doesn't want you to go? You don't. Period, end of story, capiche? Try to leave and suddenly everyone you've ever cared about is either under contract, got the other twin's fist wrapped around their throat, literally and figuratively, and the trio already has several lists worth of blackmail ready to send to everyone's employers and landlords. Whether it's actual evidence, falsified, or both is up to you and your loved ones. So do be sure to make a wise decision, won't you?

Trying to get the police involved means getting the family involved, and while they don't have as much influence above sea level, it's still more than enough. You're in this for life, or y'know, until they get bored of you. Which isn't all that unlikely, although chances are if neither has gotten sick of you a few years in you're probably stuck for life. But who cares about the fine print when you're living in the moment? You're having fun, aren't you? Aren't you?

Jade is a bit trickier, as his behavior can change quite a bit depending on your own. Even in a relationship, you can never be quite sure how honest he's being. Although honestly, I can't see him being the kind of person to truly chase after someone, and he's certainly not the kind to beg or plead with any kind of sincerity. Well, romantically that is, he very much loves to chase people in the literal sense. Especially when they let out those delightfully high-pitched shrieks humans are just so full of. Regardless, chances are if you want to break up it's most likely because he's already started to lose interest, otherwise he would've already prevented that. Or tried his best to, anyway. But, in the rare case that you saw something you shouldn't have or you start to want to stray for whatever inane reason, I could see Jade pulling his usual schemes to get you back.

Though, there is an extremely high chance he's only winning you back just to gouge your heart out and ruin all of your future relationships instead. You do remember what he said back in Scarabia, right? "If I were betrayed by someone the way you were, I'd lash out with a torrent of unmitigated abuse to break them mentally, then bind them and drag them beneath the waves."

In the even smaller chance that he actually wants you back… Yeah, you're still getting much of the same. If anything he's even more likely to isolate you and carefully lash out at any support systems you may have. Not because he's under any real delusion that they caused this and you're just an innocent little guppy, but because Jade believes in an eye for eye and you've left him awfully blind. Or rather, Jade believes in an eye for an entire shattered skull, at the very least. Jade is aware that he's a rather complicated man. He adores chaos and unpredictability, but delights in squashing the weak and innocent under his boots, one inch at a time, controlling every aspect of their life. But don't you feel flattered to catch his ever wandering eye? You should you know, he can count the number of people who've entertained him this long on one single, spindly hand. Do take care to keep that up now, won't you?

Outrageous, how do they react when you get yourself into trouble? Do they bail you out or are you on your own? Do they expect you to get them out of trouble?

Honestly, both Floyd and Jade probably find it funny, or at least entertaining. So long as you're not in mortal danger of course. They'll give you the chance to get yourself out of whatever trouble you've gotten yourself into, just for the sheer joy of watching you struggle, but neither of them would pass up on the chance of getting you indebted to them. It'd be incredibly hard to get to the chance to actually save Jade, and honestly I think he'd find it very disconcerting at absolute best anyway, especially since that would typically mean neither Floyd nor Azul had been able to get there first. Jade wouldn't dare act ungrateful though. He'll immediately start paying you back, but he's putting at least twice as much effort into finding some way to gain control over you in turn.

Floyd would also be slightly uneasy at first, but mainly head over heels for his beloved shrimpy! Your spine will be shattered by his sheer adoration and excitement instead of the usual reasons. He'll still pay you back, but he's nowhere near as concerned about it as Jade is. Who still tries to get you under his control, just for his brother's sake instead of his own this time.

Emergency, what would they do if you needed them? Do they drop everything? Do they panic? What do they do if they need you?

Floyd may not seem like it at first, but he's very protective, territorial even, when it comes to his darling shrimpy. A dog bites you, tearing out a piece of your flesh? Well, you'd better find something to bite down on yourself, because Floyd is going to be gouging it out with his own needle-like teeth soon after. Don't whine too much, alright? Azul can fix that right up. But not before Floyd bites you first, for... reasons. Eelmer reasons. You may uh, also want to keep any Mr John Wicks away from the area depending on the circumstances and how bad your injuries are. …Okay, yeah. Realistically whatever animal that attacked you is getting beaten to death in a way that'd make his usual go-to of being gutting something alive with his claws or snapping a spine in two seem merciful. The owner is likely getting their ass handed to them as well, especially if they did nothing to intervene or even blamed you, regardless of how high up they think they are.

People living under the sea, especially in the deep, dark trenches where eelmer usually live, don't have the same luxuries as those living above it. If something, whether that be another predator or simply another unknown mer, gets too comfortable around their pod, then they must be destroyed for the good of the group. Open, bleeding wounds are a one-way ticket to a feeding frenzy, and although mer may not be anywhere near as protective of their young as most of the other sapient races, they would still rather kill any predators their children have no hope of surviving. Besides, what kind of mate would he be if he allowed you to bleed out? From something he didn't even do himself at that? Humans are awfully pathetic creatures, aren't they? Good thing you have him to protect you then, like any other good eel protected their beloved shrimp. (Even if it is very a bit reminiscent of a protection racket.)

Jade, for all his efforts to appear oh so controlled, is actually not all that dissimilar once his instincts kick in. You'd never know it just listening to his voice, but get him riled up enough and it'll be shockingly easy to mistake him for Floyd with the way he's wailing on your assaulter, one broken bone at a time. Though you do have to wonder if Floyd was ever this cruel as he somehow manages to avoid knocking them out, prolonging their suffering even further. But don't worry. Once he's done with that he'll ruin them financially, if they're even still alive that is, as well as everyone else they've ever loved as well.

Vacation, Do they have vacation plans? Where are they taking you? For how long?

Floyd would love to take you back home! It's where he can laugh at all of your pathetic attempts to keep up with him as you beg to not be left behind. It sure does feel nice to be wanted, doesn't it? Where he could scare you by hiding in the kelp forests and dragging you into them, show you all of his favorite spots, the cute wildlife he imagined you cooing at, and show off his fighting abilities in a form even stronger than the one you're used to. As much as Floyd loves to seek out new experiences, he does seem to be the most homesick and comfortable in his natural form out of the three of them. Besides, having you come along with him keeps things fresh and exciting! And mama's been dying to meet you! Don't be shy, she doesn't bite. Without good reason to, at least. Unlike her (two) son(s.) As for how long? Probably not too long, but as is everything with Floyd, it's rarely consistent. Even when he's already agreed to a specific date.

Jade, on the other hand, would love to bring you to the mountains with him. He's surprisingly patient with you, even if you keep stumbling and asking for breaks, so long as you're willing to let him ramble on about the wonders of nature and show at least a little excitement for him. He's maybe a little too excited, especially when you (un)knowingly bite into the love(mysterious mushroom)-packed lunch that he made just for you! But why wouldn't he be? Are you really so cruel as to accuse your poor "little" heartbroken boyfriend of having some ulterior motives? He would love to stay longer, (and see how long you could last out in the wilderness,) but alas, duty calls. Jade can rarely stay for longer than a weekend, but he'd love to leave Friday night and come back Monday morning if he could.

X-ray, what are some of their thoughts when with you that they don’t say aloud?

It'd be easier to list the things that Jade did say aloud, in front of or about you. Honestly, I don't think Jade would be all that into romance on his own at first. He'd probably think of your relationship as more of an experiment at first, in the psych study kind of way, until he finally started getting attached. Not that he would've just done it with anyone though, that would be a colossal waste of his time and effort. No, you were still special to him in your own way even before that. Enough for Floyd to notice his interest in you and consider interfering even. For his brother's sake of course, what kind of an eel do you take him for?

Floyd on the other hand hardly ever keeps anything to himself, regardless of how that might make you feel. He absolutely loves the cute little faces and complaints you make when he says something a bit too crass. If he thinks you should be wearing something more flattering or acting a bit smarter? He'll tell you. If he thinks you look really good in public? He'll definitely tell you with zero care of who's watching. Or especially so, if it means offending someone like Riddle. Floyd does whatever his black little heart desires at the time, regardless of (most of) the consequences. The only real exceptions are things that Jade doesn't want you to know, (Azul's usually fair game though, especially if it gets him all huffy,) and classified details about the family business. That's not to say he can't be incredibly sneaky or plan things out however. Remember Bean Day? As Floyd himself said, Morays are cowards at heart. He won't go in for the kill until everything's set up just right, even if the waiting is killing him, and he's certainly not averse to bringing Jade or Azul into his plans. You may not even notice he's planned anything at all however, as Floyd's behavior is so erratic that all of his carefully laid plans and suddenly bossy behavior as he pulls you along don't stand out at all. Your only hope of noticing when he's going to pull you into something particularly dangerous or permanent is the excited gleam in his eyes, and how much of his undivided attention he's been giving you for hours on end. So yeah... Good luck with that.

Honestly, I've just never really abided by the popular fanon characterizations.

I wasn't active in the fandom at all until book three had been released on the English app, and still rarely sought out anything until after book 4, so seeing them being characterized the way they are on tumblr left me feeling like I had read something completely different.

At least one member of the octatrio is always in my top 3 specifically because they were some of the only "truly evil, unrepentant villains" in TWST.

Especially because I only really got into TWST when I was feeling frustrated about OBM! losing almost all of it's edge and seeing nothing but fluff & lighthearted humor 24/7.

ft. idia and jade (separately) — headcanons.

As a roommate, Idia is unintentionally extremely messy. Though he tends to stick to his own half of the dorm, so upon entering the room there is just a visible line down the middle between your neat part and his... Which is usually full of empty energy drink cans and wires. He's messy, but tolerable messy, as he would never dare leave his gear in your territory, being somebody who deeply values his space and privacy himself.

He plays games until the sun comes up, and occasionally has his mic on to converse with his fellow teammates while doing so. But he can get quite loud when he starts trash-talking the sloppy players down the mic, even despite how he tries to keep the volume down after you once fiercely ranted at him for precisely 87 minutes after he woke you up at 3:53 one night before a final exam. He never wants to torment the final boss while being severely underleveled ever again. He does try to be quiet out of respect for you, but he sometimes forgets and ends up waking you up anyway.

Taking out the trash comes down to a game of pure chance, that you're like 99% sure is probably rigged in his favor, with how he tends to win quite literally every time. If he does end up losing, he'd probably forget to take out his highly-stacked collection of cans, which even you tend to avoid. Taking the trash out is a weekly task, but taking out Idia's energy drink empire is a monthly one. Honestly, it's a surprise he hasn't suffered a heart attack yet.

But hey! If you have an hour or two that you wanna burn before going out, then he's always down to play a good game with you! Whether electronic or a board game, he isn't picky. As much as he'd never admit it, playing physically with somebody is a lot nicer than playing with somebody online. But then he'd get all salty when you've gotta leave for whatever was planned, and try to persuade you into ditching the normies and playing another (or twelve) games with him. What can he say? You got him in "the zone," and surely playing games with him is more fun than whatever you're leaving him for... right? RIGHT?

It may seem a lot like he becomes dependent on you, and to be honest… yeah, that's most definitely the case. Over time, living with him renders you becoming as close to him as his younger brother Ortho. What once was him unable to speak a word to you without choking up turns into you becoming the person he turns to in order to rant. Turns into him giving you special permission to play his consoles if you're bored and he's away from campus to visit home. He's probably got another of the same one there anyway, so don't be surprised if he messages you from home demanding you turn on a specific game to play together when he notices you come online.

Overall a 7/10 roommate. He's always there so there isn't much potential alone time, but you could totally let out any frustrations you have and he'll put his headphones on and pretend he doesn't notice.

Compared to Idia, Jade is exceptionally neat. The room would be practically spotless at all times, which you would assume he does when you're away from the dorm, considering you've never actually seen him clean with your own two eyes. There will not be a single speck of dust on the windowsills, nor a single hair on the carpet. Not that you're going to complain about it. It's much nicer to have somebody clean like Jade rather than somebody who would be as lazy as Leona. If anything, he would make you feel like you don't do enough. Even if you most certainly do, he just goes above and beyond.

As much of a little shit as he can be, even Jade appreciates his space, and he will value yours too. He isn't always in the dorm outside of classes, being a big figure in the Mostro Lounge he will most frequently be seen there until the late hours of the day, but he will try to not associate his presence with Floyd and Azul. Not that he will be very successful in that endeavor. Whenever Floyd is bored in his own dorm he will seek out Jade's, and flop onto your bed drilling on about how haplessly dull life is, and refusing to leave until he wants to. As for Azul, he appears at the most inconvenient of moments requesting Jade's input on a thing or twelve. You might as well just call all three of them your roommates already. Sometimes even Jade wants a little bit of time away from them.

Despite Jade ensuring the dorm is as clean as can be at all times, you somehow end up finding various different kinds of mushrooms in the strangest of places. One time, after coming back from the dorm extremely tired due to a long day and wanting nothing but to sleep, you moved your covers to find a single mushroom beneath it. To which Jade quietly remarked: "That's where you went," before promptly removing it and apologizing. He never acknowledged that strange moment afterward, and to be honest you half suspected that you hallucinated it.

Or at least, until you accidentally found the questionably large mushroom farm hidden beneath his bed. The situation was similar to when you find a giant stash that a small child is trying to hide. He tried to play it off like it doesn't exist. Or perhaps he is just pretty good at not mentioning or acknowledging it. He still hasn't answered your question of whether he put that mushroom in your bed on purpose or not, though. You never expected that sharing a room with Jade would prompt you to be gaslit because of a fungus.

You swear, in a sleepy haze, you once heard Jade telling a bedtime story to his mushrooms, but when you fully opened your eyes to take a look he was seemingly sleeping.

Overall a 8.5/10 roommate, would be a 9.5 if his presence didn't constantly demand either Floyd or Azul's, and they stay until pretty late too. The mushroom thing, you suppose you can get used to. Plus he cooks you stuff sometimes so that's pretty nice.

Being in a poly relationship with Xdinary Heroes would be quite eventful. From all the music to the kisses, the cuddles, the dinners, the dates, the fun, and everything else. You would simply never have a second to yourself, one of your lovely boyfriends would always be beside you. Whether it be playing games with Jooyeon, cooking with Junhan, singing with Jungsu, watching movies with Gaon, shopping with O.De, or having random photo sessions with Gunil, you know you’ll never be alone or bored.

Days at home with all 6 of them would be nice. O.De and Jungsu would have prepared matching outfits for everyone, the outfits could range from pajamas to something fit for the red carpet. Junhan and you (if you know your way around the kitchen) would prepare the food, some days it was expensive food while others it was cup noodles, it all depended on the energy of everyone and the theme for the night. Gunil would have bought snacks, he always buys too much but he just wanted to make sure that there was enough for everyone and something that everyone liked. Gaon was always in charge of choosing either the movie, the drama, or the music for the night. Jooyeon was, in a way, in charge of the mood, his energy set the pace for the night, if he was sad the mood was sullen, if he was excited and happy (like most days) then the mood was bright and fun.

While Junhan is the calmest of the bunch, he is still very committed to the relationship. He might not be loud and clingy like Jooyeon or Gaon, but he compensated for that with his calmness and his attentiveness. Junhan always made sure to stay by the others’ sides, so that no one had to be alone. He memorized everyone’s favorite dishes and cooked them at least once every two weeks, and if someone didn’t like a certain component of a dish like a vegetable Junhan made sure to not include it in the food. Everyone appreciated his efforts and understood that he did these things because he loved the others, so he might not be the one to hug all the time but he has his ways of showing his love.

O.De is always ready to go shopping or just relax and watch a movie. He always wants to do whatever would make his partners happy, if that means doing something he doesn’t really like he would still do it. O.De and Jungsu are the fashionistas of the group and they love coming up with matching outfits for everyone, while some people think it’s corny and stupid these two thought it was cute so therefore the rest of the partners did too. If you have long hair, O.De would love to play with it. Brushing it, running his hands through it, and he would practice on Jooyeon’s hair to learn how to do braids and cute hairstyles for you.

Jungsu, as previously mentioned, puts together matching outfits for the group with O.De. He will also serenade you all, every day. He will 100% dance with you if you like to dance. Just say “Jungsu can we dance [insert dance]?” And he will already have pressed play and begun dancing. Jungsu will also, 100%, be one to tease the younger members by pinching their cheeks and saying that they look cute, and he will do that to you too (even if you’re older than him). Junhan and O.De will find it annoying, but let him do it just because they know Jungsu likes doing it.

Gunil will be clinging to one of you all the time. If you see Gunil on his own, he’s either 1. out buying snacks for the group or, 2. his partners have hidden away from him to have a minute of personal space. He will be hugging, kissing, holding, and just touching his partners in any way that he can as often as he can. He will just like Junhan, have his partners’ favorite snacks memorized and he will make sure that those snacks are always available in the apartment. If you’re in the car and you’re tired, Gunil will gently lean your head against his shoulder and tell you to sleep.

Jooyeon has a lot of energy to put it lightly, but he also knows exactly how to use it. He will drag all of you along with him to play soccer and/or basketball or other games, really anything that allows him to use up some energy. Clingy member #2. Jooyeon will, just like Gunil, hug and kiss his partners all the time. Jooyeon will become sulky if he goes 2 minutes without being close to his beloved partners. He’s the mood-maker of the group so as said earlier, if he’s happy, the group is happy, if he’s sad, the group is sad. When Jooyeon and Gaon are in their mischievous mood, you know there’s going to be trouble. You never know what they’re going to do, one time it was dying Gunil’s hair, another time the rest of you came home to the apartment full of bouncy balls. In short, it’s never a boring moment with them around.

Gaon as just mentioned, is one of the two troublemakers. He is also teaser #1. Jungsu may tease the younger members and you, Gaon teases everyone. It might be teasing touches or words, it’s loving, but he teases a lot. He’s still very loving, he makes sure everyone drinks enough water, and Gaon, just like O.De, is always up to chill and watch a movie. Whatever you wanna see, he’ll watch. Gaon is always really eager to show his partners whenever he comes up with something he can use for a new song or just play guitar to accompany Jungsu’s singing. Clingy member #3. Gaon is another one who will latch on to one of his partners and not let go, it’s part of his teasing, especially toward Junhan who isn’t the most touchy person. He does it with love though, Gunil and Jooyeon don’t mind it so sometimes those three end up in a cuddling pile with or without you and the others.

So to sum it up. There would be a lot of cuddling, kissing, hand-holding, eating, laughing, and shopping.

We’re not going to go full on how the sex would be, however, we’re going to be bringing up some things.

There would be times when the intimate moments happen between you and just one of them, other times it’s two or three of them and you, or finally, all of them and you. The times with just one of them would be the most hectic, you might think otherwise, but when it’s just one of them and you, there is more room for experimenting. When it’s all of them, they’re all too worried about overwhelming or hurting you so it’s mostly on the softer side, with a lot of aftercare cuddles. When it’s just two or three of them and you, it depends on who it is.

Gunil + Gaon and/or O.De = oftentimes, on the harder side. These three like to experiment, also, Gaon so has a marking kink - he leaves a lot of hickeys on his partners, especially on you. Gunil has a bit of a domination kink, he likes bossing others around, while both Gaon and O.De are more on the dominant side too, they rarely ever go above Gunil unless Gunil allows it.

Jungsu + Junhan = soft, worshipping sex. These two will do everything they can to please you. They will treat you like a god/goddess.

Jooyeon is a bit of a joker, it depends on who he is with. As said earlier, he has a lot of energy. So, the man can go for a long time. If he’s paired up with Gaon, expect a lot of teasing, and for things to be on the harder side. If he’s paired up with Gunil, he’s going to be on the submissive side and softer. Jooyeon + Jungsu and/or Junhan will be on the softer side however with them he can take on a more dominant role. Jooyeon + O.De = teasing, mixes of hard and soft, overstimulation, and much more. In this dynamic, Jooyeon is on the submissive side but he can sometimes take on a more dominant role depending on O.De’s mood.

And as mentioned earlier, sex with all of them will be very soft. Kind of how it is when it’s only Jungsu or Junhan or the two of them together. There’s going to be a lot of kisses and soft touches. Massages and comforting words. Praise to the maximum.

Aftercare is always of high priority for all of them. The boys are on it whether it be cuddles, a bath, a massage, food, or anything else. Especially our dom boys, Gunil, Gaon, and O.De.

As for whether or not they would enjoy the gameplay style

I think Shuuji would have fun with the tactical rpg element. He has the energy of someone who enjoys strategy games. The only one in the group that wouldn't employ the "random bullshit go" tactic, he actually reads what the equipable items do.

I think Miu, Aoi, and Takuma would like the story part and going through the different dialogue.

Lowkey I had the same hc from the time I was talking about the kids playing kh but like,,,Miu handing the remote to Kaito whenever she hits a boring grindy part. I think he might actually also enjoy seeing all the different ways a conversation can go depending on what dialogue option you pick. Local idiot learns the importance of phrasing and tone from a video game.

Idk if the rest of them would enjoy a game that's 80% reading lakdja. Maybe if they played it together and could use funny voices.

As for like,,,the actual game Digimon Survive itself

I would like to see it as a startlingly accurate retelling of their adventures in the kemonogami world where the moral, wrathful, and harmony routes are hypothetical "what if" scenarios alkdfjak

In which case they'd probably all hate it. I mean okay I think finding out some of each other's thoughts and feelings when everything was going down and realizing what the events were like from each other's perspective would be neat but I do not think a soul alive would enjoy having all their cringe moments thrown in their face and replayable for their loved ones to see. random OC ask: what is an alternate life path your OC might have gone down? how different would their life be if they'd made those decisions instead?

ohohohoho. ohoho. oh boy

i think there are two biggest "branching off timelines" moments in solli's life, at least so far

1. running away with astarion VS staying with cazador

this moment, to be more exact. in the good timeline, solli comes down to the kennel, frees and heals astarion, and runs away with him

if solli hadn't come down to the kennel that night, cazador would keep astarion in there and torture him for another week, maybe even month, however long it takes for astarion to learn his lesson and never even think of approaching solli again. the cazador in my story enjoys making the distinction between his half-vampire heir and the spawn who are beneath him.

then cazador would rethink his approach so far and inject solli's sterile environment with more and more of his lordly venom. he will say that solli is about the right age to really learn, and start to mould solli into a second version of him.

solli is young, obedient and attached. he actually really loves his father, even in the good timeline, never mind here. he has always hung onto cazador's every word. i think once solli gets over the trauma of having to brutally beat astarion who is someone he cares about, the innocent child will truly be gone.

in this timeline solli will become a full-fledged cazador 2.0, and what he lacks in true vampire power he makes up with sadism. he will be an artillerist artificer who also makes torture device on the side (godey hates it; automation might take away his job someday!). he is cazador's second in command, often seen by his side during social gatherings, and he preens in that position. the spawn, especially astarion, hate him a lot. he doesn't care because he thinks they're beneath him

he doesn't know that he's also a sacrificial lamb when the time comes, just a little more special. he might or might not survive cazador's ascension, depending on how it goes

2. convincing astarion not to ascend VS helping astarion ascend

(this will be towards the end of the story so i haven't written it obviously lol)

this fork in the road assumes that solli did previously run away with astarion and was by his side for years before they come back to szarr palace to face cazador (like in the game).

this is basically the ascendant ending but because solli's relationship to astarion is a bit different from tav's, i still wanna talk about it a bit (also bc i've thought about it A Lot)

i think ascended lord astarion would really double down on gloating about having "stolen" cazador's heir. it's kind of sad because it's been years since he stopped thinking of solli as just a trophy and a fuck you to cazador; he's come to love the kid. but, with time, ascension will bring out the worst in him.

he has solli grow his hair out long again (so he looks more like cazador than ever), dresses him up all prettily, and keeps him locked in his beautiful chamber. solli is returned to exactly where he was as a child: a pretty doll in a glass case, to be displayed but never touched. lord astarion treats him pretty much the same way as cazador.

in my lore, solli can't really be turned into anything other than a half-vampire – he can't become a true vampire OR a dark consort. he was born being able to walk in the sun, so in return he can never have anything more than that. as such, astarion grows bored with him after a while and leaves him isolated for longer and longer stretches of time as he finds amusement elsewhere.

i'm ambiguous on whether astarion would torture him for fun at any point in time. it's possible, considering solli can look A Lot like cazador especially if you're like squinting to see that. maybe lord astarion would do it when he's feeling extra vindictive or resentful (or bored), i'm not sure

regardless, solli will just wither away in solitude and eventually die alone

So this is actually kind of hard for me to answer depending on whether you base your metric on “how much fun were they to play” “how much do I think to explore the themes / writing / think about the game in general” or “how well written do you think they are”. This might be kinda surprising to some people considering what I talk about on this blog, but honestly my opinions on these games changed drastically after I had time to ruminate on them. Here’s some explanations if you’re curious!

AA1 very well could be at the top because it was the first game in the series and I was going in fresh— while Turnabout Samurai was a bit of a slog, I managed to get through all of these cases in a day each and just could not put down Turnabout Goodbyes. I don’t think about it as much anymore because it was so foundational and all the things it introduced have been explored by other games, but this game really is the reason I fell into this series with such ferocity.

AA3 was much of the same, and I don’t think I had as much fun with a tutorial case as I did with Turnabout Beginnings. The characterization present in this games and the nonlinearity of the narrative is genuinely fantastic, and my opinion of it has only increased over time.

AA4 is ranked a little lower because I actually wasn’t vibing with the game when I first played it— it was only after Turnabout Succession that everything fell into place and the game skyrocketed up my favorites list. Once I’m finished with all the spinoffs and have some time to chill I actually plan on revisiting it with fresh eyes because I think a second playthrough has the potential to be soooo much better than the first. Also APOLLOOOOOOO he’s my little guy :)

I thought justice for all was fine, but boring. Big Top made me feel some emotions that were less than positive, but generally speaking all the cases were fine but didn’t leave a big impression on me. Also I don’t like Farewell My Turnabout nearly as much as other people— I still like it but it didn’t totally blow me away or anything. Game is still like an 8/10, but it didn’t leave a huge impression on me.

Dual Destinies was confusing as hell timeline wise and it made it kinda difficult to figure out what was even happening, and for that same reason I struggled to attach myself to the plot. The game had some moments that really were stellar but the sheer length and layout of the cases kinda made me wanna cry

I literally only finished this game so I could get to Investigations. Characters were great but it was so. Damn. long.

This part of the list actually has very little to do with how good I think the games are or how much I like them, but sometimes a game’s themes just Captivate you.

If you’re reading this you’ve probably seen this blog, and you know how I feel about Dual Destinies. I am OBSESSED with this game. I love the characters, I love the themes, and I am fascinated by every part of the writing process and how the game ended up the way it did. I think about this game an unhealthy amount actually. Don’t let my complaining make you think I don’t love this game to pieces. Bc I do. So much.

I love expanding on things. The media I blog about? KIrby and Pokemon, stories that practically beg for you to fill in the gaps and work with their vagueness. So when Takumi handed me a game with half a dozen hanging plot threads and massive time gaps just begging to be filled? You can bet I would never shut the fuck up about it. AJAA my absolute beloved

I could probably talk about Miego for hours. This game is incredible I think about it on the regular. Ough.

This game slams but all the ideas introduced by it have been expanded on and talked about and worked with in a hundred different ways so it’s hard to me to really go back other than to say “wow Turnabout Goodbyes was so fucking good”

Literally the only context in which I think about this game is “this should have been a spinoff” but honestly it barely crosses my mind except when I purposefully try to ignore it

JFA is good and makes me feel absolutely nothing

Ok this is really REALLY tough because I think AA1 and AA3 are tied. They both have their moments and I think the themes are incredible, but for the purposes of this list I’m putting AA1 above AA3 because BttT is a little bit absolutely batshit insane? Turnabout Goodbyes is TIGHT. Sorry Godot you’re still my favorite prosecutor ily kitten

I’ve never seen an AA game whose final cases elevates the entire game quite like AA4. I thought the game was good, but the Turnabout Succession hit and oh my GOD. I think about this game constantly it’s so, SO good. Also helps that Apollo really shakes up the series, he’s my favorite species of insect

These cases were fine, Franziska is a solid prosecutor, the whole “chooses death” thing was fresh, and Farewell was some of the best character writing this series has seen. I don’t honestly have much to even say about it bc it’s super solid

The difference between DD and SOJ is that I think DD had a really good story that it failed to tell effectively while SOJ succeeded in telling its story but that story fucking sucks. Jokes aside I don’t like SOJ but the story is cohesive at least. It had a plot. It was Fine. DD failed miserably but oh my god what you could have been. Ily. Mwah.

Omg thank you so much, it really means a lot to me that you think so, that's a huge compliment with the effort I put into understanding his character and it makes me so happy that you ship us! I'm glad you enjoy my posts and I hope I can continue to deliver 😊💜

I have a lot of different first meeting scenarios that I like to daydream up and write, so I have multiple first encounter ideas of different times and ways it takes place (like depending around/during what game's events I imagine it taking place for example) so I don't set a single solid timeline or plot in stone overall. All the what ifs are endlessly fun to explore!

But there's always the same basis at least which I've talked about a bit throughout my blog but it's been a while and it could've been told better, so I'll happily share again. I like to make my s/i as accurate to me as possible, so I base it on how I came to love him in real life, biggest difference is I'm in the universe the beautiful man exists in for real!

So here we go:

I lived in a small place with a simple life that I found boring and eventful, I longed for adventure and to see more of the world but didn't have the means nor the confidence to get out there if I could. So instead I'd learn about the outside world, admire it from afar, dream of a more exciting life and just hope that it would somehow come one day.

When I was old enough to understand, I'd hear stories about Eggman and his past crimes and the latest news through my desire to learn about the world. But for as long as I'd been alive, he hadn't targeted the place I lived because it was small and insignificant, and it hadn't been caught in the crosshairs of him targeting anywhere nearby either.

But the things I heard from others with experiences before I was born and stuff he was still doing in the present and how common he was in the news caught my interest. I started keeping track and learning of his terrible crimes and atrocities in the past. I knew I should be horrified and disturbed but instead I was moreso curious and fascinated.

The way he'd seemed to have been everywhere and done everything and made such an impact on the world, as negative as it was, was impressive to me. He was the exact opposite of myself living in the middle of nowhere, never doing anything that interesting in my life, and nobody ever knowing who I was and being an outcast and it pulled me in.

I started collecting news coverage that existed and closely following all new stuff. My favorites were photos and footage, whether photos of him during his schemes or videos from when he'd broadcast himself onto devices while making threats or just to mess with people- which isn't something he'd done on a global scale since I'd been alive.

When exactly this took place and what it specifically entailed varies in my multiple concepts but at some point, I do finally get to see him on TV live when he hijacks it! I know I should be scared, it certainly is startling to see him suddenly pop up, make demands and threats, and talk about a world under his control. I know it's very bad and dangerous.

But I couldn't help but be excited to finally get to see him live and finally feel like a part of what's happening to the rest of the world too after years of just hearing about it! While I don't fully acknowledge and admit it to myself, my heart isn't just racing from fear, it's uncontrollable excitement too and I'm mesmerized watching him do his thing.

There are things I can't help but find fascinating and impressive, admirable even. Such as his theatrics, confidence, and crazy desires. Even though he was terrible, dangerous, egotistical, and greedy with it, he did it in such a unique and fun way. He was entertaining to watch and everything he was capable of was as impressive and exciting as scary.

His determination to keep trying and following his dreams and his enjoyment in his terrible crimes shows passionate devotion. The way he builds robots with awesome crazy designs and theme parks, carnivals, circuses, casinos, etc is so fun and cool despite how malicious it is. It's charming how he'll be himself and follow his dreams no matter what!

While I don't admit it to myself, I find him very handsome too. I subconsciously have a big crush on him and I'm admiring him more by the days. I know he's bad all along but he's so charming and entertaining about it, I can't help but be hooked and he makes me feel dizzy! He lives such a crazy, fun, eventful life and I wish I had that too.

Eventually after the broadcast hijacking, Eggman visits multiple locations and deploys his robots to scour areas for useful resources. I live in a place with lots of land and woodland in universe too and I go there a lot for walks and to just wander around and think and dream of traveling the world far beyond this, since I don't have much else to do.

When walking through the woods I hear the sound of a motor and mechanical noises. I peer through trees and bushes and see a Motobug driving along the grass! It's looking for animals and trying to round them up for Eggman to use because he needs a very big army for his new plan. I'm so delighted to finally see some of his tech in person!

Despite the danger, I get as close as I can for a better look and admire how well designed, creative, and fun it is, and how well made it is with such high quality. It's clear that he's very smart and imaginative and I see it for that instead of just "stupid silly toys" like others do. It's cute for a dangerous killing machine and that's part of the charm to me!

I enjoy it a lot for it being the closest I've ever gotten to him a sense, as it's something that he's created and I've finally been lucky enough to see it in person. And after getting to witness him on TV live too, dreams of mine are coming true. I'm finally a part of something he's doing and it's bringing so much more excitement to my life!

And knowing how unpredictable he is, one can never know what he might do next! And that's thrilling to me, though I should be afraid with the terrible things he's capable of, I'm instead always eager to find out because this is huge, finally being one of the locations on his radar for the first time since I've been alive. I finally get to experience it!

I'm very pleased with that encounter with a robot of his. I don't report it even though I should, I just let it go and do its thing. Nobody else finds out his robots were scouring the area to report on it and I like keeping the secret, knowing something about Eggman the rest of the public doesn't. And I didn't want them ruining it before it's truly began.

At a later date, news breaks that Eggman is attacking the city that I live just on the outskirts of and I'm in disbelief! Before I can even properly hear all the details of the report, for the first time I don't wait to hear every precious detail like I usually do and instead rush out because it could be a once in a lifetime thing and I can't miss this!

I don't even worry about the danger nor not having confidence to go out when there's probably a lot of people despite usually being uncomfortable, I just need to get there and see what's happening, that's all that matters to me. I manage to approach the scene as closely as possible while still keeping distance from the danger and heart of the chaos.

I climb a building and hide behind a tower on the roof and can see there's fire and shooting and explosions in the distance as robots are attacking, the action is gripping and gets my adrenaline up. But what makes my heart race faster is when I hear something in the sky and look up to see the man himself in his Egg Mobile watching it all!

I barely get to see much of his face as his back is to me watching it from a distance himself too, but closer than I am. But I can see enough of him to see that he has a big smile on his face, looking very smug and laughing. Just that and the fact that he's really here has my jaw drop in awe and then smile uncontrollably at his infectious joy!

After standing there watching, I don't expect him to look over his shoulder, he must've been looking for the best area of escape when he was done and he looked into my direction! He actually sees me and just as he notices and perks up in curiosity to why I'm there on my own, I run. He puts it down to me being scared and I didn't look to be enemy forces coming to stop him in my casual wear.

That moment was so small and brief but it stuck with me for weeks after. I keep replaying the sight of him admiring his robots wreaking havoc and the sound of his laughter. It was deeply precious to me to finally get to see him in person and be so close to him, albeit still many feet away but we were really there together in the same place!

I start to imagine how things could've gone differently if I'd stayed. Would he have questioned me? Would he have attacked thinking I was going to try to stop/report him or just for fun and to make sure nobody goes unscathed? I would've found all of those potential scenarios cool! But unfortunately I ran because I felt I had to. Still, I treasure it.

For a while I think that's the last of being lucky enough to get to catch. I mean getting witness a broadcast hijacking, then seeing a robot in person, then the man himself? That's way too much luck! I'm appreciative of what I got to see and will treasure it forever. Things seem quiet for a while after all the chaos and it looks like he's done with the place.

It's been a while since I last went to that certain woodland area for a walk and decide to go again and at night because it's been hot and because I'd like late night peace and privacy in my quiet place. Part of me hopes to see a robot or something even though it's unlikely they'd still be around when he's seemingly done with his work here.

I'm walking, listening to music, entertaining myself with my thoughts to avoid disappointing myself and- suddenly I bump into something and fall back. Never in million years would I ever expect to look up and see none other than Eggman! My glasses fell off when I fell and when I put them on and see him clearly, I still can't believe it!

We both didn't notice each other in the dark, with me looking down and Eggman's shaded glasses making it even harder to see in it. He squints and looks down at me through the darkness and teasingly says "What are you doing out here this late, little boy?" He has a playful approach and smirks because I look stunned and he's amused.

He thinks I might be scared but I'm actually just frozen in awe that he's really right there in the flesh in front of me. I finally pull myself up but still feel stuck in place, unsure of whether I should run or not. I also don't know how to answer his question and just manage to mumble that I was out walking and my breaths sound shaky.

He strokes his chin in wonder with a "hmm". Something about me is familiar. It quickly clicks with him as he connects the dots, not only did he catch me watching during his attack on the city, he also saw me in a Motobug camera when reviewing the footage to see if it saw good land to build on and that's how he knew this was a good place for it.

He points this out to me and says we finally meet at last, then asks if there's any reason he keeps seeing me around. I don't want him to get the wrong idea and think I was trying to spy on him and gather information to try to stop him so despite the shyness, blush in my cheeks, and small smile, I say I'm a big fan and have admired from afar for a while.

He's smart enough to still be wary in case it is a trick but at the same time he can't help but smile at that as he says "I'm pleased that you recognize my brilliance." His confidence and happiness from the ego boost he gets from that is precious to me. There's a funny warm feeling in my chest seeing the pleased grin that slightly tugs at his cheeks.

He's just as handsome in person as the videos and pictures. He has a gleaming white smile, cute big pink nose, and big magnificent fluffy mustache with soft round cheeks hidden behind it. He's so big and tall with his big round belly that looks soft and cuddly, big bear paw sized hands and feet, and long sleek legs. He looks like a big bear of these woods!

He looks stunning and I can't help but admire it. Eggman can certainly tell that my admiration is genuine by the way I look at him as I get lost in his beauty and don't realize how obviously I'm gawking. And there's no way I would've known of the hidden camera in the Motobug but I looked so happy and fascinated while trying to get close to it to admire it.

He can't let me roam around after all that I've seen in the past few encounters of him and his creations. Sure I didn't report it before but he'd rather assure the chances of it happening are zero. So he asks me to come back with him and says that if I enjoy his work so much then I should come serve him. I can't believe my ears and accept immediately!

He's surprised that it was that easy and is used to having to make demands and threats, so he's happy to see such enthusiasm. While I know I should be afraid to go away with such a dangerous infamous man, it would be a dream come true! I'm instantly ready to go away with him and don't need any prep. I get in his Egg Mobile and away we go.

The idea is that I stay with him while he works on the land by the woods that he took an interest in after seeing it in the Motobug footage. It's a good place to find animals for his robots and build a new base as it would be well hidden. I'm useful to keep around because I know when people are unlikely to be around to potentially stumble upon the site.

His first impression of me is that I'm a funny fan of his and that my admiration is pathetically cute and most importantly useful and ego stroking. He finds my eagerness to help him, keep him safe, and make sure he doesn't get caught very valuable for him, and how I become a servant in happily bringing him things he needs whenever he asks.

My feelings on him don't just remain the same as when when I first started to take an interest in him, they get stronger. Getting to know him for real and finding he really is as charming and admirable as I saw him is a delight. And it gets harder for me to escape the fact that I find him very attractive for his strong personality and beauty.

He still keeps a lot of secrets from me he can't have me knowing just in case but getting to learn anything and seeing around his base and his creations is a great joy. Especially when the man himself is proudly showing them off to me. He likes how I share multiple of his interests, love to listen to him talk, and gush over it and praise it all highly.

Eggman was ready to entertain any delusions that made me a fan but is pleased when he finds I know exactly who he is, what he wants, and how terrible he is but specifically admire and support it. I love him as he is, want him to succeed in his selfish goals, and get everything he wants. It feels good to be understood and loved for the real him.

My loyalty and enthusiasm making me useful to him and boosting his ego makes him consider keeping me around for longer, after he was initially planning on letting me go eventually. It would also be best to make sure I never have the chance to tell anyone else about him after going to know him on this level. And I don't want to leave anyway!

I have to keep proving my worth so he knows he made the right choice and that my admiration is real for sure and not just a really convincing agent, though there's no way it could be faked to this degree. Despite his caution we get along well and get closer and he's more certain and likes having me around to serve him and stroke his ego.

Things progress from there and I start faller for him harder and he enjoys having me as his assistant and servant more over time. It eventually leads to point where we first become intimate, when he takes the last step in assuring that I'm definitely not an agent and 100% real in my love for him- by asking for me to kiss him hehe 🥰💜

• OC Hunger Games!!! Either 1x1 or mumu; either will be okay ☺️ starting with the first movie and building everything from there with our own characters and directions to agree on and plot. The world is our own.

• Misery loves company but the company loves the misery type of plot. Toxic as ever. Maybe digs into abuse for a dead dove aspect. They’re addicted to each other like a bad habit. This requires switches or dom/dom. Muse A and Muse B have the WORST jealous ex syndrome when it comes to each other. However, when something goes wrong, they’re going back to each other with tails between their legs while the other soaks in the attention. It’s the worst aspect of “I’ll always be here”. Their friends want them separated but there’s too much history to erase to let it all go. Fighting to the point of screaming at each other but not all the time. When it’s just them, it’s like candy land and sunshine. It’s when others are around that things begin to get rocky.

• Power imbalances or statuses. Bosses son ready to take on the company & an intern or lesser position meeting his future boss. Could also be age difference too 👀 I’d prefer to play the younger submissive in this scenario. They could have went to school with each other or the older man could be a family friend. It’s just kinky and secretive with threats of reporting everything to the big boss man.

• Michelin star chef & his staff or the restaurant bartender. Things aren’t going well for my chef. He’s stressed from everything and perpetually grumpy. He’s gotten cattier, more demanding and strict with previous rules, and he seems to be taking shots on the clock. He’s staying at work late and often sleeping there. Then Muse B pokes around the corner to find a drunken star stumbling in yesterday’s clothes. Where to go from there? We can plot!! I have ideas but throwing out inspo 💞

• You type plot. Stalking, anonymous calling, kidnapping, etc to be in play. Muse A would go to any appearance Muse B made. Whether it’s a concert they’re performing in or attend or a convention or vip section or after party or whatever Muse B is in, Muse A stays until they leave. Muse A talks to Muse B so casually. They start a relationship. Later, dots start connecting and Muse B eventually finds out about everything. Whether it turns to kidnapping that leads to Stockholm Syndrome or finding a way out, Muse A is trying to stay ahead of the game.

1.) Describe their first date.

Ooohhh weirdly enough, this isn't something I've actually thought about before. And it sort of depends on what we're calling a date here-- if we're being tongue-in-cheek and calling any outing where the two of them do something they enjoy a date, then you could argue their time in middle school beating people up and gathering blackmail was a sort of date lol. BUT I'm going to go with like, a proper date that was planned as such, presumably after they get together.

Hmm. Agon would plan it, considering he's the one with (oodles of) experience when it comes to planning and going on dates. I could see him low key doing it as a way to stake claim on Hiruma lol, like as marker of a legitimate relationship. Trouble is ofc that Agon's never cared about any of the people he's dated before (if he even considered what he did before actual 'dating'. From what we know, it kind of seemed like he did it to stroke his ego and get laid and leech off of them financially), so his past experience might not be all that helpful lol.

And if it's a first date, it probably happens while they're keeping their relationship on the down low, during uni. I don't think Hiruma would care that much one way or another if people find out they're dating, but Agon definitely would care (✨homophobic bi boy✨), so he wouldn't want to be seen doing anything stereotypically date-like anywhere they might run into people they know.

Lol maybe they go out to eat and catch a movie in a different city, then end the night doing something ~romantic~ like walking through a light show or something. Hiruma is very obviously bored the whole time and doesn't try to hide it, and Agon gets pissed at him for being an asshole but he's secretly also really bored, and in the end they coincidentally run into a rival football team, or maybe a gang, and mutually have much more fun terrorizing them. That sounds about right tbh.

4.) Who initiates affection? Why does the other not initiate affection as much?

Definitely Agon lol. Not that he's some sweet, affectionate guy or anything, but simply because everything is relative and Agon would be the clingier one.

But really, neither of them would be all that affectionate. At the very least, not at first lol. As they get more physically comfortable with each other throughout their relationship though, I could see Agon initiating more casual physical contact (like throwing his arm over Hiruma's shoulder) as well as like, 'casually' cuddling up to him in more intimate moments lol. And Hiruma returns the affection by allowing it, which is saying a lot for Hiruma who seems to avoid affectionate physical touch like a prickly cat.

And beyond the physical, they'd show affection for one another through bantering and spending time together. I can imagine Agon arguing with Hiruma over some stupid bullshit because that's what they do, but as soon as someone else tries to butt in, they're a united front. (Or at least Agon attempts to be a united front, whether Hiruma goes along with it is entirely dependant on his whim lol) Including each other in stuff, doing schemes™ together, that sort of thing, I think would mean a lot to both of them.

34.) Do they have any inside jokes?

Probably! I imagine they would have had quite a few from when they hung out in middle school, but that all would have been soured during the intervening years after their Break Up™. So if one of them brought up an old inside joke between them post-canon, once they'd buried the hatchet and were tentatively hanging out again (ESPECIALLY if the inside joke came from Hiruma, I think), it would be kind of a big deal lol.

As to the flavor of their inside jokes, a lot of it would probably be referencing people they've terrorized in the past, lets be real.

39.) When and how did they admit that they loved each other? If they haven’t yet, why?

Hmmm admitting to each other or admitting to themselves?

I think it'd be sort of a gradual thing for both of them, though in different ways. Agon, for instance, would deny it both inwardly and outwardly at first, insisting that they're just hooking up, but once he gets comfortable with the arrangement and the closer proximity, I think he'd forget to deny it to himself so much lol. And then eventually there'd be a moment where Agon's feelings are just so blatant that even trying to deny it would seem pointless and more importantly, a pain in the ass, so he doesn't. He'd absorb it into how he sees himself and fuck anyone who has a problem with it.

With Hiruma... he's the kind of guy who will quite abruptly make a decision and then stick with it through thick and thin. Not to say he'd 'decide' that he was in love with Agon all of a sudden, but the way I imagine their relationship going is they tentatively reconcile after the world cup, and then start hanging out more, and then start hooking up in uni. Hiruma wouldn't have actually seen it coming when Agon first comes onto him, but then he chooses to go along with it probably because it was unexpected, and he finds that interesting.

Eventually though, I think it'd really sink in that Agon is actually invested in this relationship, in him, and he's not just fucking around on a whim that he can ditch once he gets bored, and that would shift Hiruma's perspective on things. I think he'd be more willing to relax into their relationship at that point, and then ~love~ would gradually but comfortably sneak up on him lol.

That being said, I don't think there'd be any dramatic declarations of love from either of them. tbh I feel like they'd date and continue sharing their lives in what more or less seems like a committed relationship to everyone else (and of course there'd be plenty of ups and downs during this time because they're both allergic to expressing their feelings), but they've never said 'I love you' rip. Then years down the line during a totally mundane moment, one of them (probably Agon) would casually say it, and Hiruma would laugh and say something like, "you only just realized that now? keep up dreads". And that would be that!

Boston deserves his “friends” back (this is the BostonMew portion)

Mew it’s finally your turn to hop in the brain soup pot with our Chaos boy Boston. No drowning allowed.

Disclaimer: the reason I don’t talk about Mew is because he reminds me of my ex. I don’t want to go into deep detail because it’s not necessary. However I think it colors my world against Mew in general. But I’m going to talk about Boston’s relationship towards him.

Boston and Mew both have this photo and I think this is an indication that to both of them their friends are their Chosen family. There isn’t a photo of Mew and his moms next to this. There isn’t a photo of Boston and his mother or father he does have a little Statue of Liberty but that’s about it. I believe to both Mew and Boston their bonds with the other friends feel alot deeper than acquaintances. Mew depends on Boston to drive everyone home. Mew and Cheum can’t drive and Ray is a drunk. Mew also likes to have Boston about to live vicariously then judge. I think mew did enjoy Bostons persona. Boston did love Mew. He didn’t want Top to sleep with him initially. Boston wanted Top again not for Top to take Boston’s “sweet virgin” friend. Boston tells Top when things fall apart Boston will be there for Mew. Boston also tries telling Top not to get Mew too drunk.

Wont it benefit Boston for Mew to be drunk? Make it easier for Boston to steal Top. Speaking of that I know you are saying no friend would fuck their buddies boyfriend. But I’m going to make some assumptions about their friendship buckle up Boston is Besties with Ray and I feel like they have been friends longer maybe it’s just because Boston takes care of Ray from time to time but for this let’s say BostonRay are old friends. When Mew and Cheum joined their friend group Mew immediately started passive aggressively started judging Boston tries to get him to change. To Boston this is fun. He’s never going to sleep with Mew but he likes a game. Boston likes the competition with Mew it allows him to play like Mew is his annoying older brother. When Top chooses Mew over Boston things get a little too real and Boston second guesses himself. On top of all of that Bostons own emotions are…. Strange because he’s been sleeping with the same guy and not getting bored of Nick. I think this also pushed him to want to get plowed by Top. Sleeping with top was to boost his own confidence and hopefully speed up the inevitable breakup of Top and Mew so Boston can comfort Mew and have their group go back to normal. But this failed. So Boston tried to pretend that him and top never happened because it’s embarrassing and Bostons feelings for Nick are increasing.

I think from Mew’s stand point he had trusted Boston to some extent. He gives Top a dating time limit after Boston told him Top hasn’t dated anymore for more than 3 months. Mew also probably thought Boston does approve of Top since he brought Top to work on the hostel. Mew does care about Boston more than Ray I think because of him also considering Boston part of his chosen family. He is hardcore pushing for BostonNick to happen more so than Sand even. Mew wants BostonNick to happen because Nick is useful and sweet. Mew can see a future where TopMew BostonNick go on dates because Boston will always be part of Mew’s life whether Boston wants it or not.

When Mew used Nick he 100% knew what he was doing. What could hurt Boston the most? Using someone who had melted that outer shell to find out secret details about Boston. Mew KNEW what Boston had told them about Nick was a fucking lie. Usually Boston nails and bails but Nick was special so the perfect tool for Mew to manipulate. Nick was the only person who knew Nick better than Mew in mews mind.

I think Mew was incredibly hurt by Top specifically cheating with Boston because Mew had viewed Boston as his brother who at the end of the day did care about Mew, Ray, & Cheum. Even after Mew gets his revenge on Boston and blackmails him back into his friend group it’s not the same. Boston is held at arms length.

Not even supposed to go a party being thrown by his friends Boston is just there to be controlled put away because Mew only needs Boston in his “friend” role as man for Mew to judge. I do find it interesting Boston doesn’t attack Mew here. He just quietly leaves then Runs upstairs to see Ray when shit goes down. Boston cares about his friends still he misses them. I think he’s hoping eventually Mew will forgive him. That he will have been punished enough to be apart of the family again. But if ep9 and preview of ep10 are anything to judge by Mew and Ray are going to continue to be shit “friends” until Boston makes it up to them. Only going to get more complicated if Atom speaks out about him hooking up with Boston. I do hope Nick helps get Boston back with his friends. I want chosen family date nights to be a thing all 8 of them.

I hope that soup made sense and I wasn’t too mean to Mew. Let me know though.

Spoilers are about to exist in this headcanon.

I've been thinking about the moment in the manga (and anime) this icon is from. Depending on the translation, Mahito tells Todo "I improved it for you" or "I made it prettier for you" after using his Idle Transfiguration on Todo's arm - forcing him to cut it off. While it's very like Mahito to just be a jackass and mock someone like that, it got me thinking further.

Outside his fellow curses, I think individuals he finds more interesting are those who are similar to him. They look human but there's something different. With Mahito, he has deep stitches that are normal to him, but if a human bore them there would be a perspective something happened or was wrong. On the lighter note, his heterochromia isn't common among humans and is a trait that could make a human more of an outlier to what society considers normal. We're not getting into his hair because anime hair means nothing, lmao.

Everything about Mahito is meant to disrupt and go against the norm. Obey within a certain limitation what is acceptable to society - he'll tell you to do what you desire (Junpei). He accepts what kind of curse he is, acting as a mirror for humanity and curses alike. He is what humans don't want to acknowledge about themselves a lot of the time (Yuji). If he is hatred and mistrust between humans, then it means that he represents those very things they reject in themselves (also Yuji).

Mahito looks at weakness as something useful to take advantage of. Whether it's with manipulation for a longer game or something shorter, a quick kill. But it's always useful in some manner to him because he understands human weakness and all the negativity they feel. Human fragility is amusing to him more than it disgusts him.

So when I say I think, on a physical and visual level, his interest leans towards people like him - what I mean is they are very human but something makes them an outlier, too. It can be they are so very plain they become invisible. They could be missing a limb or some other part of themselves, have scars, etc. It can be something they are born with or something that happened to them that resulted in a physical trait that would turn someone's head, make them squint at best or at the worst be bothered over.

Junpei with the cigarette burns on the one side of his face is a prime example. It's easy to see he covered himself for a reason. Why. Finding out is fun. Knowing is fun. Figuring out what to do with that information is fun.

Mahito is constantly comparing himself to curses and humanity because he's a human born curse. Something that would make a human go, "Why do you look like that?" is what will turn his head. We all know people can suck and even natural (and lovely) differences people have, like Vitiligo, will garner negative reactions from (ignorant or plain dickbag) humans. However, it's those people Mahito is more likely to have a conversation with or take an interest in.

Of course, I'm not saying just a visual difference is what gets his attention. If you don't have some personality traits to capture his interest, he's not going to last long and then you're fair game. You gave him a pause at best. This applies whether or not you can see him, as well. Sometimes he'll follow around a human who can't see him if they are curious enough, sometimes he lets them go on in life and other times he'll be the unseen force that kills them. It depends entirely on what he deems as fun. Though we know, if you can see him, you're elevated already when it comes to his interest.

I'm talking about this in a general sense, by the way. I used Junpei, Yuji and Todo (who is of age but still young) as examples so this is more of a general 'what interests Mahito' post than it is 'what would Mahito find attractive?' post. I think this definitely applies to the latter and it's why I don't have any JJK related ships with his character by default.

That being said, a headcanon for a different time: I don't think Mahito would immediately be able to tell if it was the latter. He'd have to do his creeping around, research and observations for a while to figure it out - regardless if it's a human or curse (or something else). Hence my inability to just make this post attraction-based only and why I find it more important to look at it overall with potential attraction as an inclusion.

All in all, these are just thoughts for my interpretation of Mahito's character. I think he takes an interest in noticeable physical differences in humans most of all. Strong personalities seem better for him to bounce off of, but he also values uncertain individuals and seeing how they process and move forward - because he's doing the same. If you're fun, that's all he cares about.

I'm sorry you've been dealing with this, and that it took me so long to answer. I've been thinking about this for a while honestly. I've been writing a bunch of drafts for this one, because my answer seems to change with the day or my mood. Some of my stuff have had some strange interactions lately that's made me question whether I should stay on itch myself. I mean, I don't think I'll ever leave... there are too many fun jams I want to participate and, you know, to force people to play my weird stuff. But I've been more anxious about new stuff or updates I share recently.

I don't blame you for wanting an out. Some users will poison one's experience of a platform, that even opening the site would give them anxiety. It doesn't take much to have events or projects soured. Often, just a few rude words is enough to make accounts disappear without a word. And many platform don't have good safety nets (blocking, moderation, reports) to temper or avoid these situations. Many will have half-ass solutions that, at the end of the day, still allows interactions from blocked users. It's easy to wonder if all of this is worth it...

Anyway, the very boring and short answer to your question: it depends.

The probably as boring and long one is a bit of a ramble:

It depends on the day, or the mood I have. It's easier to deal with comments when I'm confident and things are going find; but I'd feel more hurt or have a harder time dealing with them when I'm a bit more morose (I think most people feel this way). I'll disregard any (even barely) negative points some days, only to take it into consideration a few days later. <- this especially during jam/comps time, just need time to digest criticism of any kind.

It also depends on the content of the comment, their tone, and intent of the commenter. Not all negative comments are on the same level. I've had negative comments in the past where the commenter was genuine, and really gave my stuff a shot, bringing interesting points or important concerns. And though it hurt a bit, because being told you made a mistake sucks, those helped me grow. But those are the good kinds of comments...

On the other hand, I try to disregard the trolls, and the abusive comments (towards my work or me), the ones where the engagement was clearly not done in good faith... you know, the ones who will literally tell me I've made the world worse by uploading my games on itch. Doesn't mean that it doesn't affect me at all*. Some of them really hurt or made me angry and frustrated, some have lingered for hours or days in my mind, a few made me close to delete stuff as well. Words are not just empty things without meaning... *I've had to block a few people both here and other places recently because of it, they had become so insistent on wanting to engage with me while bashing most of my work, my values or the few aspects of my identity that I've shared online.

It would be easy to say I just don't give them the time of day or any of my energy, or that I pretend they don't exist, because, if I do, then the trolls win. But that would be lying. Obviously.

Screaming to the void/a pillow or ranting to friends have helped get rid of my anger and frustration. I've laughed with others about some comments I got (usually the bad faith ones, some of them are funny in how sad/bad they were). I think what worked best for me was just turn off the computer and go outside for a bit. Or turned off the internet and play silly games on my phone. Or picked up a book. Or watch a movie. Essentially, any activity that would distract me from it and force me to take a break. And when none of this worked, because some trolls are just that insistent, blocking/deleting stuff*. *unfortunately, it's not always possible, see second paragraph again.

It does suck that you're kinda forced to grow a thicker skin to enjoy or even exist in those spaces, and I wish those would be friendlier... but I don't think social platforms/the internet is going in that direction anytime soon.

Maybe not super helpful to your decision, but borogove.io hosts IF games (without ratings or comments, though people can download the files), so does the IFDB through the IFArchive (but there are ratings/reviews there, also can be downloadable). I've seen other peeps host their stuff on neocities (no ratings/comments). None of those platforms are like itch, in the positives or the negative. Or just be old school, and email stuff.

omg these are all such good hypothetical dynamics, i would love to see any of these characters interact.

firstly we have, yue and aang. both are human/spirit hybrids who were born already burdened with a destiny, a duty to the world spiritually and to their people culturally. they are both gentle and friendly and kind and want freedom. aang inspired yue during the siege of the north, and yue inspired and helped aang in "the awakening." the spiritual bond they intrinsically share, though understated, is very lovely imo.

i don't really see the logistics of how they could go on a roadtrip together, so i've decided to just not overthink it. they're both people who enjoy the journey as much as the destination, and would appreciate watching the world go by, making as many stops as possible, playing fun little roadtrip games, etc. they might make some questionable detours, and it's unclear whether either of them can read a map (yue has never had to, and aang....can't), but i think overall they'd have a good time.

yue and mai are both repressed noble girls with strict cultural expectations imposed on them as women in high society. they are expected to do exactly what reflects well on their fathers, nothing more, nothing less, and if that means being expected to marry a boy who doesn't even seem to see them as anything more than a decoration, then that's what they will do (even if their heart longs for another). they are secretly very funny and smart and kind and curious, and crave to see beyond the bars of their gilded cage, but few people actually bother getting to know them beyond their facades.

going on a roadtrip together would be a life-changing experience for both of them. immediately i envision them in that wistful atmosphere of driving down at empty street at night. listening to mitski. mai is funny and spontaneous, and yue is positively radiant, and of course they already have so much in common, so they'd absolutely adore each other. very chill vibes on this roadtrip, yet perhaps tinged with the sort of nostalgic longing that tends on fester on long, quiet drives through the trees while listening to sad, beautiful music (in a good way).

mai and aang have basically nothing in common. they come from almost diametrically opposed cultures, were raised completely differently, and have different personalities and behaviors. this doesn't mean i don't think they couldn't let along (aang can get along with anyone), but there seems to be very little common ground between them. that said, they both share a common desire for freedom and a need for constant stimulation. they don't like being bored, or being left alone with their thoughts, and they will do anything as long as it is sufficiently entertaining to them.

this means that the two of them hanging out with no other supervision would just be sheer chaos. absolutely no impulse control whatsoever. aang draws the line at murder, and mai draws the line at having to come in contact with any gross substances, but otherwise everything is fair game. aang helped katara blow up a factory for a good cause, but he'd do it with mai just because it seems fun. their roadtrip would absolutely be the craziest, to the point where it would be highly inadvisable. whether that's a good or bad thing, though, depends on your point of view.
