I just like, ??? What if choppers devil fruit seems so fucking weird cause it was a like prototype way to combo a fruit, but approached from a medical science perspective instead of a like chemical and robotics science perspective? Again, these are distincted as two fairly intensely separate sciences in the op world, not a whole lot of overlap. I am fascinated by how the quarterfinals of @captainsvscaptains seems to be four match-ups of

(1) one person who is, in theory (I think) part of a structural system and get their title of captain from their status therein (Star Trek)

(2) and another who is anti-structure or ambiguous (pirates, space, taking out slavers*) and get their title of captain more (maybe?) from an acknowledge by others/by choice

So, mostly the bonds between women* are important, diversity of temperament is common, growth (going from one point to another through character growth and connecting with others) will be important in some capacity at some point, if there is any romance, it will be additional, and if you're going to die, everyone gets to die tragically/brutally.

*this includes non-human "women" (how does that work? you can't call a wolf-dog a woman, right? because she's not a human?? and neither is a flower-maiden in a way...)

Am a little baffled by the “haven’t kept in contact” = “drifting apart” interpretation that I’ve seen on tumblr.

Like, I get it (I think) from a conceptual POV, but as an adult, I will say it *is* possible to be friends and have a significant bond with someone without keeping close contact all the time. Sometimes you might not speak for a year but you still care when you do. Least that’s been my experience.

Also, both Sasha and Marcy were aware of what Anne was doing generally; sometimes you know what a friend is doing but you don’t know what they’re doing week by week or even month by month in a daily life kind of way. That’s what getting together is for. Because sometimes there’s something called life that takes up your time.

The OPLA was pretty good (not great but I wasn't expecting that). It had good and bad points. And while I can't imagine if the show will ever reach Water 7 there's a very distinct difference from the original that breaks my heart thinking about a certain Water 7 event.

Spoilers for OPLA episode 3

Luffy literally meets Usopp through the Going Merry. The first time Luffy hears Usopp talk, he thinks Merry is talking. Usopp then proceeds to tell Luffy all about how she's the best ship in the shipyard owned by Kaya's parents.

Can you imagine? Not just the having to get rid of Merry or Usopp's insecurities but a shared love for this caravel was the foundation of their bond. And that's going to get all torn up.

All I'll say about the live action One Piece is I'm not expecting it to be good (though I am excited) and I'm not expecting it to be the same as manga or anime.

But I AM very interested in seeing how it adapts One Piece. Since this version will have a lot of background information that wasn't available for the anime. Also, I'm hoping the live action starts with Chapter One, unlike the anime.

Also-also, I'm totally okay with kicking Krieg out. He was always the East Blue antagonist I thought was the most useless. (Sorry Gin.) But there's gonna have to be another way for Sanji's kindness about feeding people comes up. (I'm wondering if this'll tie into the fishmen somehow, which might be interesting???? mostly cause we see Sanji kicking Kuroobi and it made me think of when Krieg arrives, eats, and attacks. \(:|)/)
