So BOOTS has killed off BOOTS for good? 🤔

In a recent tweet, the singer/producer revealed three different songs from three different albums, with XENOPOP in particular described as his last under the BOOTS moniker:

‘These are three different songs from three different albums. I'll be releasing this year. XENOPOP My third full-length LP and final ever as BOOTS. (Spoiler: he gets killed off.) NIGHTDEATH The dreaded existential club LP. DAYLIFE A meditation.’

And the single in question from XENOPOP, 'Full Of Stars,' is pretty telling, a drowsy orchestral ode to regret that sees Jordan Asher Cruz lament: ‘I thought that Boots would guide me/It was a bad bad bad bad bad bad dog from Sirius/He got high on his own supply (he died)/He was the needle of my eye/Cuz we feel what we hate when we hate what we feel,’ almost driven to the point of madness.

Along with 'Full Of Stars,' Asher also unveiled 'Primordial’ (featured on DAYLIFE) and the house pop ambience of 'Language' (featuring RAYE and Deradoorian).

As a BOOTS fan since I first heard the Motorcycle Jesus OST EP back in 2015, I hope he reconsiders his decision. But, for now, it remains to be seen...
