Hi! Can I get some headcanons for yandere Van Zieks and Kazuma dealing with a darling who's ignoring them or being as apathetic towards them as possible

Sure thing anon!! I'll tell you I was a little stumped with this one for a while, its definitely hard to write about such an uncooperative S/O, but I really enjoyed the challenge and while I definitely didn't lose my wick as much as Van Zieks and Kazuma would have, I was getting there 😂😂

Also I didn't know if you wanted me to write for DGS 1 Kazuma or DGS 2 Kazuma because I feel like he has a lot of character development, so I'll write for DGS 1 Kazuma

🍷 Barok van Zieks 🍷

🍷The idea of S/O ignoring him is a sure-fire way to test his patience and if S/O thinks that complete apathy would somehow make him change his mind and let them go, they are sorely mistaken.

🍷He understands that there has to be some kind of “settling in” period, but no matter how hard he tries, he cannot understand why S/O has resorted to such immature behaviour.

🍷At first, he might just think that S/O is just a little quiet. He’s sympathetic to the fact that it’ll take a little time for them to get situated.

🍷He would try to converse with them, to make them feel more comfortable around him. He’d discuss the estate, his childhood, his feelings, and of course he would be quick to bounce questions in relation to S/O too.

🍷But when S/O blatantly ignores his attempts at conversation, that’s when he starts to feel a little frustrated.

🍷It seems that no matter how hard he tries to play nice, S/O isn’t going along with it so he eventually resorts to scare tactics in order to create any kind of response.

🍷Barok truly loses all dignity during these attempts. He’d burst into S/O’s room in the foulest of moods, ranting and raving directly at them as he searches for any kind of reaction, in these moments of desperation he would rather invoke fear within S/O, just so he can get any sort of ledge in.

🍷Much to his disappointment, S/O would just continue to give him the same blank stare and neutral expression and it would only feed his fury further.

🍷He’d give up eventually, trying to scrape together any remainder of his dignity and self-respect, only to then (in his eyes), completely emasculate himself before S/O.

🍷He begs S/O to talk to him, to give him any sign that they are even listening to what he’s saying.

“My lamb…Please, I beg you. Could you not give me any kind of recognition? I am truly trying my hardest to maintain your favour.”

⚔Kazuma Asogi⚔

⚔While Kazuma isn’t too happy with this outcome, he definitely handles it a little better than Van Zieks would. 

⚔He feels a strong sense of duty to protect S/O, whether or not S/O wants to talk to him or acknowledge his existence won’t change this fact.

⚔Of course, he would far prefer to have S/O’s favour, especially if they are also a member of the Imperial Yumei University. 

⚔He would ask S/O why they ignore him, if he has done something to offend them then he would do his utmost best to earn their forgiveness. However, when S/O’s response to his line of questioning is to pick up the pace and leave him in the dust, he’s going to panic.

⚔Chances are, S/O is trying to ignore him because of the rumours they’ve heard about the fights that he has with other people to defend their dignity.

⚔If things don’t get any better, Kazuma might enlist the help of his dear friend, Ryunosuke to find out why they aren’t too keen on him. 

⚔After learning about S/O’s reasoning, he would be far more careful and calculated in his attempts of “protection”. 

⚔The rumours of his fighting would be quickly overshadowed by his accomplishments, he is still an exemplary student afterall.

⚔Only time will tell as to when S/O will eventually forget about the rumours they’ve heard and begin to speak to him once more, and if all else fails he would definitely not be above pulling some strings to have S/O be invited to travel to London with him.

Barok, the tsundere or kuudere:

(Pre-Professor he was more easygoing and carefree, but for the sake of this game, let's just go with kuudere because every otome game needs to have one.)

You have heard the stories surrounding him, but something tells you there is more to discover behind that seemingly cold, untouchable facade. Sholmes, the bakadere:

Hello, may I request Barok with s/o after he's had them kidnapped?

You didn’t specify a scenario or headcanons so I’m just going to go with headcanons!

I’m answering these out of order but I just wanna dip my toes in the water first but I’ll try and get back into chronological order based on when the request was made ASAP.

Spoilers: Dai Gyakuten Saiban (The Great Ace Attorney)

🍷Kidnapping Headcanons: Barok van Zieks🍷

🍷I’ve mentioned this in my original yandere headcanons, but Barok wouldn’t kidnap S/O himself. He would use some shadier contacts and hire two thugs to break into their home and kidnap them. 

🍷He would emphasise that no harm was to come to S/O, in fact he would far prefer for S/O to be taken without a fight. He places a lot of trust in the people he hires to do this job, but if S/O was delivered to him with a single hair out of place then he would make sure that they didn’t escape without consequence.

🍷Barok would stay in the room that he places S/O into until they wake up. He’d keep a solemn watch over them while they slept, he would have already ordered his staff to keep away from the room.

🍷Only he gets to indulge in this moment, after all.

🍷When S/O wakes up, he takes a patient and logical approach to his explanation for the circumstances that they are in. It would be more than obvious to S/O that Barok had been behind the countless letters that they had been receiving.

🍷Naturally, S/O would find themselves in a blind panic, especially once they realise that they have been tied to the bed they’re in with some rather sturdy leather belts. While Barok promised that they would be free to roam around the room once they calmed down, it would not ease S/O’s furious response to his actions.

🍷While he would most certainly be frustrated by S/O’s initial panic once they realised that they weren’t able to leave, he wouldn’t be surprised. As much as he despises the fact that S/O isn’t grateful for the fact that he saved them from the immorality and cruelty of society, he knows that they must be in shock from it all.

🍷Obviously, this all depends on how you imagine S/O, but there would definitely be a big communication issue right from the start. S/O wouldn’t want anything to do with Barok, while Barok would want to spend all the free time he has away from his work with S/O.

🍷Barok wouldn’t really try to fully understand or empathise with S/O’s feelings, he sees them as immature and hysterical. Instead, he would stick his heels in and persist with his own fantasy as S/O’s provider.

🍷It would take a long time of persistent pushing on S/O’s part for Barok to externalise his frustrations, as a member of the nobility he knows how to save face and keep his true feelings pushed deep down, but if S/O struck him where it hurts then he would really lose his temper and S/O could expect to find themself having to dodge a bottle of wine that he’d throw towards the wall behind them.

Imagine phoenix always having to keep his thoughts in check because the player does have direct access to them

Ot maybe perhaps payne simply doesnt exist because edgeworth/whatevee other prksecutor there is depending on the game wants more time to be around them.

In the 3d games perhaps theres a lot more sprites per se since a rig is much easier to manipulate a bunch of pixels and conveys a lot more

Phoenix cant be left alone akdhaks curses of being the player POV

One of my favourite things about slef aware aus is the yandere lads pulling a giffany and taking the player into their world, or perhaps pulling the opposite and entering their reality. Tbh im not quite sure what'd be next after that but it would be certainly quite the event to go to bed and then see characters in person

Miles/Klavier/Simon/Nayhuta really just up and delete Payne from the game, none of them even get a look in

good, I hate those guys they are all so annoying

Something else I think might happen is you know at the start of cases they have the cinematic bits to show the crime and sometimes reveal who the killer is, I think that someone would censor those bits, who would is up to anyone's interpretation but whoever it is would do it to try and spare S/O's feelings.

And I completely agree that in the 3D games, characters are just going to up and deviate from their set sprites, it must be quite hard to have to move every single pixel when with 3D rigs, as you say its a lot easier because fluid movements are already made for the sprites.

I think that in the 2D games, each character would be able to force themselves into one deviated sprite, so they'd really have to make those sprites count.

Phoenix would be LIVING the life though, but in the rare occasions where we get perspectives from other characters (for example, Maya in Justice For All or even Mia's case or Edgeworth's perspective in Trials and Tribulations) Phoenix would definitely still interfere where he can, just so S/O doesn't forget that he's there (much to everybody else's disgust of course)

AND AGJGHGHGH MORE CASES YES PLEASE, honestly if the cost of a crap ton more cases to play is being obsessed over by pretty much everybody in the game series I really wouldn't complain too much.

No but the idea of half of the characters showing up one day after climbing out of the console is uh 😳👉👈 yes please

Especially if we are dragging literally every character out, I'm talking faces like younger Mia, Feenie and Bratworth. The interaction with their "older" counterparts would also be absolutely brilliant to be honest.

I have no idea what sort of harem I'm building here oh god 😂😂😂😂

I think characters from later games would heavily protest against S/O being pulled into an earlier game, there'd probably be a situation like in that AA6 DLC Court skit special where characters from earlier games would show up in the 3D games.

I mean if Oldbag can do it to try and get to Edgeworth, half of the Ace Attorney harem can do it to get to S/O. For that reason I think that everybody would have to settle with living in S/O's world, otherwise SOJ Edgeworth is just going to end up banishing any old sprites that come through straight to the shadow realm.

(Self aware au) An idea just occurred to me so I thought why not telling you? :D idk how the yandere characters would react to the player simping over characters from other games, especially otome games :0 Take me for example - Simon and Maya are my biases yet now I'm playing The Arcana and simping over its awesome characters >_< (Suzume anon)

Yandere barok will time to time put his blood on the wine his darling is drinking

Yandere narhoudo can't handle cold so darling always bring a second coat that's their's, yandere narhoudo, doesn't sniff their coat but time to time he has the temptation to do so

Yandere miles/ Simon will buy a romance manga that has the love interest look like their darling

Yandere godot will always give his darling his personal blend of coffee cuz it's their special:)

Probably would cause S/O a great deal of stress if he ever let slip he was putting his own blood in the wine, they probably aren't of the blood drinking variety after all.

and AWWEEEEEEEEEEEEE Ryu would be so tempted to sniff the coat for sure, even if its only by hunching his shoulders so the coat tucks under his nose.

He'd make S/O hold his hand to keep it warm too!

Miles definitely subconsciously associates S/O with the Pink Princess, no matter how they identify. He's the Steel Samurai so S/O is obviously the Pink Princess 😎👍👍

Simon absolutely would send S/O a ton of manga as well, bonus points if S/O also loves manga and anime.

As a coffee lover, the idea of literally anyone making me custom coffee blends is actually just 😩🙏 so I think that Godot would literally spend days thinking about what he wants to go into this blend based on S/O's flavour preferences and how they like to drink coffee.

Oh and no doubt about it Kazuma and Ryunosuke are going to write poetry for S/O.

I'm torn on whether Kazuma would probably stick to English when writing poetry or write in Japanese but avoid any difficult tongue twisters but I think Ryu could throw out poetry in English or Japanese.

I'm not one for writing yandere darlings so I'll just consider the effect that S/O channelling Klimt would have on Barok.

I think that he'd absolutely be grateful for the closure that S/O can provide him through these means, although, he'd probably be very sceptical about spirit channelling until he can see it with his own two eyes.

But ah...S/O wants to return back home? Well that just won't do. How could Barok let someone as rare and special as S/O slip away from him just as quickly as they came.

While he definitely wouldn't use them solely so he can talk to his brother (his brother's time has come and gone as much as it pains him to say), he would definitely want to keep them around. They're special after all. If he can't get Stronghart on side (if Stronghart is still around that is), then he'd definitely take matters into his own hand to keep S/O in London where he can keep an eye on them.

He'd definitely make his gratitude towards them clear though. Whatever they did, he got the closure he needed by saying goodbye to his brother.

When they first stayed up so late, he passed it off as a natural reaction to the transpiring events.

Change was difficult, even if it was for the better, and outwardly they accepted it. But the initial... move still would put stress on many, so he let them do as they will regarding their sleep schedule, reasoning it'd only be a matter of time.

A week or so, they reasoned, but as every day dragged on past those inital sweet seven and they got sicklier and their skin started to have an undertone of silver compared to their former vibrancy, that's when enough was enough.

"Pray forgive me, S/O, but you can't keep going on like this." Barok had sighed as he just barely caught them from halfway walking into the wall. Yet, the smaller figure merely laughed

"What? Why not?" They grinned, the bags under their eyes curving up with their grin. "I'm making tons of progress with my novella!"

"At the expense of your health? For goodness sake, A rose can't wither at the expense of a daisy." Exasperated, he pulled away to allow them to collect the streen papers across the tiled floor, dropped out of surprise.

"...Can it?" They drawled, grogginess temporarily catching up before their wit returned. "Besides, i do believe my piece is prettier than a daisy. Didn't you claim as such ehen you first reviewed my draft? I think you said it was... a..." they yawned big and widemuch like a snake unhinging its jaw save for the lacking predatory intent."crnation..?"

"That is not the point, S/O." Barok half growled. "If you don't get proper sleep soon so help me i will burn your prior drafts."

"Please do..." impossible as ever, they rubbed their eyes without a care for the steel gaze overlooking them. Yawning once more, they turned away. "Now, if you'll please excuse me..."

They would be, for today, but one would not expect the other to be brewing ideas in their head aswell..

It took a week for the delivery to arrive, and how many times had S/O slept properly?

Once, bent over their desk like an overworked bobby. So, not properly, save for their transferral over to the bed so kindly provided for them but barely touched.

That'd change though, as barok oversaw the food sreved for the night's dinner and took out what'd finally get them to rest properly.

It looked like a salt or a spice when powdered upon their meal that they always ate when provided, making him wonder why they not sleep if they ate so heartily?

Again, that was going to change.

So the meals were set and they ate like usual. S/O noted how the steak tasted oh so slightly differently, but paid it no mind. Maybe it was their mind. Maybe it was a new treat, even if they didnt like the bitterness. Perhaps it was something exotic? Strange that barok didnt comment on it though...

They did note how much more jovial the other man at the end of the table was in the part of their mind that was still coherent. No more fretting over their sleep, but rather he just asked about their book.

How strange, but barok van zieks was quite the aloof one, so again, they paid it no mind.

They also noted how much more they were yawning, but the pursuit of art was too important, so again, they paid it no mind.

Maybe they simply coulnt, a half way dead diredness permeating theough their veins sprinting up to them

Only halfway up the stairs back to their chambers, when their legs wavered and gave out, and their grip weakened on the ornate baniser did any semblance of something wrong cross into their vision, but...

Well, at least barok seemed to arrive just on time, scooping them up into his arms.

"What did I tell you, S/O? You're lucky you only gave out a few steps up. You're lucky you didn't get hurt sooner."

...why did that sound so off? And what was with that glint in his eyes, the one thing they could focus on as their mind entered a shadowy haze thicker than the london smog?

"But fret not. I'll make sure you'll be well taken care of."

He smiled a chilling smile, and before any manner of slurred confusion could ask what was going on...

the world went black.

Perhaps the grim reapers curse was useful, if in small doses.

(I just started the end of chapter 5 in DGS so i apologise for any potential OOC-ness of barok or medical innacuracies)

I'm gonna correct here a bit, the history nerd has awoken and they are here to clear up some misconceptions regarding the Witch trials.

Good news for Witch darling!!!!! It was made illegal to accuse someone of Witchcraft in 1735 when the Witchcraft Act was passed. This act was later repealed in 1951 and replaced with the Fraudulent Mediums Act but DGS takes place before then.

More good news for Witch darling!!! They actually stopped burning people at the stake in the 1790s because they realised that it was just a little bit immoral to burn people alive.

The Victorians DID love their Supernatural stories though. Barok is no stranger to these rumours regarding his status as a Grim Reaper so if he heard rumours about S/O being a witch then he might think that they are just receiving similar treatment to him, which would fuel his protective nature towards them. Cue his surprise when it turns out that they are in fact a bona fide witch.

Once he gets over his official disbelief and shock, he'd want to make sure that they were being careful with their craft, but he would never dream of handing them in, especially when it turns out that their powers are actually very useful in investigations.

Barok will allow S/O to grow whatever ingredients they need in his gardens and if they want crystals then he'll do his best to provide. As long as they don't leave him or try to use their magic against him then there wouldn't be much of a problem.

Mod Miles, I think your art style looks reeeeally good and I like it! And... it's an honor that you went out of your way to draw for my previous ask ☺🙏 I myself love drawing AA characters so seeing a variety of art styles is refreshing. But it gives me a thought: If s/o also drew them and saved their art works in their electronic devices... then sentient characters would certainly see them! (In my case uh....*cough cough* Miles Edgeworth wins, I have a good 200 saved images of him in my phone)

If S/O happened to be an artist, then each character would absolutely lose their mind if S/O drew them, they'd be so flattered but if S/O drew anyone else it would frustrate them to no end!

What do you think would be s/o's method of defence attorney torture? They are a prosecutor, after all, which in AA means that they assault DAs with a weapon or smth, improvised or otherwise. And I'd like to hear your thoughts Mod Miles:)

Oh! Just imagine them in Barok's suit, Sherlock's coat and with some details to their outfit traditional for their home culture-

Oh! And while I absolutely love to torment characters, I feel like it would be cute if from the inner and outer turmoil s/o found themseves in they had a healthy retaionship w/ Sherlock and friends w/ Barok--X)

On the other hand, their death at the British gallows with controversy surrounding it would be cool and dramatic! Albeit a bit sad.

Also, not DGS, but just imagine what Fulbright's s/o would go through when at first he was discovered to be dead, then, a few years later came back, and then that twist in DD trials was revealed-- I feel like they'd be at the vey least very shocked-

Defence Attorney torture huh.....

I think S/O would be a calmer prosecutor, I mean they are in a foreign place so they might not want to make too many enemies.

A lot of their "torture" could be in the form of passive-aggressive comments, nothing too provocative because they don't want to rub anyone the wrong way but if the Defence Attorney is making a nonsensical point or trying to draw the trial out to no end then S/O would feel as though they are the only one who can bring the trial back onto the right track and for that reason, they'd make a couple of digs at the Defence Attorney.

I am imagining and I can see it vividly. I can definitely see some of Barok and Sherlock's clothing hanging off of them a bit, they are rather tall in comparison to pretty much anyone else after all. S/O might have to do some of their own adjustments to just get the clothes fitting exactly right. But until that time, Sherlock would definitely be fangirling about how S/O looks wearing his and Barok's clothes.

I think it'd be sweet for them to eventually form healthy relationships with Sherlock and Barok, I feel like it would take A LOT of work though because the foundations of their relationship with the two is built on blackmail and a power imbalance. But oh the angst once S/O is eventually caught, prosecuted and sentenced to death 😖😖😖

Especially if Sherlock and Barok were forced to absolve themselves of any and all knowledge of S/O's secret. That could be a good lead in for a great betrayal and I'm here for it.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH FULBRIGHT. Man what happened to him genuinely saddens me so much. I think that it would definitely be enough to give S/O a seat in the car to therapy. Finding out that their boyfriend was dead, only for him to come back and be the same but not. Then that reveal, when they realise that the man they've been with was a fake.

Imagine yandere barok obsessing over darling who has a clan, barok is trying to court them but darling says that, they have an arranged marriage and can't get out of it they really really like barok yet they can't escape the marriage plus that have to do it for the sake of their clan

hooh boy, 🐸 anon you are on fire with these tricky situations for Yandere Barok to try and overcome.

S/O might be quite torn about even being this close to Barok, they know that they have a duty to fulfil for their family's honour and love marriages really weren't that common during the Meiji Restoration period.

Should S/O's suitor ever come over to London to bring S/O back home, Barok would definitely wish to meet them.

There'd definitely be a duel.

S/O would definitely stand firm in their decision though, especially if they were the oldest or only child in their family, but Barok would do his absolute damned hardest to get S/O out of this marriage, and it would definitely go on to further sour his opinions of Japanese traditions, although if we are being accurate here, he really has nothing TO complain about seeing as arranged marriages were still prominent in the British Empire during this time.

He's genuinely looking for any excuse at this point.
