I don't know if you're still going on the Jacob frye gush but. I see Jacob as the kind of guy to kiss hands.

Young, he's got that charm and tends to lean down when doing it. Mostly teasing or getting his flirt on with someone he fancies or whatever.

When he's younger, in addition to what you said, I can also see him peeking up from under his dark lashes and giving a cheeky, little wink right after brushing his lips against someone's knuckles, grinning when he notices the blush he gets from them in return. Even as he continues to court his beloved and gets past the initial "politely kissing the hand as a greeting" stage, he never stops doing it. He loves doing it so much, in fact, that even if he's doing something ordinary like taking a stroll or having dinner with his significant other, he'll just link his hand in theirs and bring it up to his lips to leave a lingering kiss, smiling against their skin with happiness in his eyes.

As for when he's older, I can totally see him doing the other thing you suggested, as well - his soft breath making the contact against that person's skin as he just barely glosses his lips over their hand, especially more so in public. In private, I can also see him being the sort to gently kiss his beloved's palm, when they reach to touch his cheek, just basking in the comfort and present warmth radiating from their hand. Those different types of contact, no matter how subtle, are just what he needs to bring himself back to the present - especially after the tragedy of 1888 - and get a good, daily reminder of how much he is loved and how in love he is with the one he is with.

When the location arrangements for you and your fellow Jedi knights are released you are still at the temple on Coruscant.

And the moment you see your assignment your heart free falls a fiery crash down into your stomach.

“Monoma please, you have to switch with me! I don’t even care what you have.” At first you thought maybe it was a mistake. But when you asked two other mentors at the temple they only confirmed your fears.

And now, here you are.

“I can’t stay here.” You try not to beg but the desperation bubbling feels too tangible.

Monoma dramatically looks off to the distance in faux deep thought. “Hmm…what’s in it for me?”

The temptation grows stronger to shake his shoulders like you used to do when you were both younglings.

“Neito!”

“Alright alright!” He laughs and effortlessly hands you the transmission with all the information on it.

“You’re not worried if the council finds out?” Monoma asks and the underlying worry from your closest friend is easy to catch.

“No and worst case is they’ll just switch us back.” This switch is nothing compared to more serious offenses. There are worst thing to be expelled for after all.

“Troublemaker.” Monoma sing like replies, coyly and amused. His stupid grin makes you glare at him.

“Shut up, and like we haven’t broken any rules before. I’m sure the council would be thrilled if they found out about how many cakes from the mess hall we’ve taken over the years.”

Monoma shushes you loud and you try not to laugh.

“Don’t know why you’re so upset with staying here.” He recovers fast and now sounds so casual. “The council would probably give you training duty with the little brat padawans or maybe make you go to a couple of senate meetings.”

You can’t even argue with him. None of those assignments were bad and truly, they would have not been bad. But thinking of those assignments, of staying here, felt as if you had slipped on the wrong size robes not fitted for you. Why would the council keep you here when you could be useful elsewhere?

Coruscant has been the only home you’ve known. Yet for being a planet covered in every inch of stretching cosmopolitan, adventure has been tugging so fierce in you recently that it was getting harder to swat away. It scratched at you to spread your wings and leap to discover what more the galaxy, the force, had waiting for you.

“Why are you okay with switching with me?” You now have to ask Monoma who shrugs eased.

“I have my reasons.” But his eyes catch a gleam of something mischievous and the answer hits you.

“…You really just want to show off to all the Jedi elders here and have them all to yourself like the annoying teacher’s pet you are.”

His face gasps horrified and so dramatic again.

“What?! How could you ever think that about me?!” This reaction of course meant you are probably right and it makes your eyes roll.

“Eh, sure that’s a good reason why. But really it’s because you’re the one asking.” He truthfully admits. “We’ve been covering for each other since we were kids and I know you’d do the same for me. So yeah, why not?”

A fondness forged in a deep friendship spreads throughout your entire chest. The Jedi taught you caring for all, holding deep compassion, was the root of everything and you are reminded of that right now.

“And besides… once I saw my assignment I was already kinda dreading it so I’m happy to let it go. Knew it would’ve been a total pain in my ass.” Until Monoma adds and you stop dead in your tracks.

“Wait…” you suddenly ask your fellow knight who stares at you a bit bored.

“Where is your assignment?”

Monoma suddenly grins. A piece of you starts wondering if maybe you misread, misinterpreted, the tug in your heart. Maybe the force had been warning you that you were meant to stay and not leave.

Because when you finally check the transmission of your new placement information your spirit rushes out of you.

Hmm as for Home Zone, I don't want to spoil anything but I can give some environmental fun facts!

There exists a blueprint of the apartment, and though things get wonky the layout remains the same (or mostly, sometimes walls just need to grow haha). The Home Zone was named by a commentor and the name works in multiple layers!

Other fun facts about the Home Zone (speed round! I have so many thoughts!!)

The MC has multiple photographs they've taken up around their apartment. Originally the deer picture scene also had a description for warped photos of birds, a sail boat off in the water, and of a sunset! I'm a big fan of Deer Horror so I kept that part in, but the rest are part of the story in my mind haha. Because it is You, You can imagine any photo being warped in that scene

The dragon statue in chapter 16 being warped is a Charizard @:)

I don't know if anyone cause it, but the odd Duck Bowl in one of the earlier Home Zone chapters (I forget exactly which one, but it is likely chapter 12 to 14?) is a reference! It is Duck Guy from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (in strange uncanny bowl form, I thought it was funny @:p )

The wires from the ceiling is based off of what electrical wiring can look like in an unfinished space. I've lived in many under-construction places and the electricity is shut off so the wires are safe. It looks funny though!

The atmosphere of Home Zone is heavily impacted by the non-physical environment of all the ""characters"" in the story (is this a spoiler? I don't think so? I think people picked up on that(?))

It is also called Home Zone (to me, to me. This is a Silly Thought you now know!) because I think Wally calls the MC's apartment home because anywhere his Friends like are a part of his home. Because he thinks Home means something like Safety and Care, and he Cares about his friends (home is where the heart is, etc etc. I don't know if I explained it well, but he is just a Silly Little Guy!)

Additional fun fact: Wally is the MC's height for a reason! I cannot share because that would be a spoiler, but there is a reason!!

I could ramble a LOT about The Consequence of Imagination's Fear (I think about it a lot!) But i shall limit it to that. Thank you for the ask, this was really fun to answer!!

Seeing a steady rise of people using the library as we carry through summer break, so here's a quick thread from a staff member on little things you can do (for free!) to make life easier on staff. Let's go!

If you want to put a book back, DON'T put it back on the shelf! Put it on the return cart or bin, or give it to a staff member. Not only does this make it MUCH easier to catch misfiles and gather abandoned books in one trip, our budget is literally based on returns. Putting it on a cart gives us more money!

(To expand on the above: not only do we get paid more based on more returns, our book-buying budget for next year is based on what titles seem popular. Even if you don't check out a stack of books, putting it on the cart lets us know there's an interest so we can order more in that genre and support that author.)

Conversely, if you see a cart already full of books being pushed around by staff, PLEASE don't yank books off it or loiter around it. Carts are unwieldy and returns can build up quick, so let a shelver have space to move around and do their job.

(Again expanding on the above, especially please don't yank books off a staff person's cart if you see them pulling books off the shelf instead of putting them back. Books are pulled for a reason--hold requests for another patron, damaged, need to be relabeled, etc--so taking one can really throw off our list.)

If you rent a DVD and notice it's scratched or doesn't play, please tell us! We don't have the time or resources to watch every returned DVD, so we rely on patron feedback. Even a note tucked inside the case helps it get flagged for damage inspection when we're processing returns.

Pay attention to news related to your local branch! The VAST majority of book-banning demands we get are bulk lists from only one or two people--which means contesting them (or requesting a challenged book) also only takes one person.

Remind your friends that most libraries don't do late fees anymore! We want to be a safe haven for low income and disabled/nd people, so don't let being late or disorganized or poor or anything else discourage you. Bring your books back whenever you can, or just mention to a librarian if you lose it, and you're always welcome to come back.

#there'll always be wolves among the sheep and obviously fuck your fandom if it hurts people yada yada #idk what to believe but it is apparent something is not right with ang beyond drawing sick cartoons #i've seen them get harassed and bullied years ago and they were toted as a fandom martyr #but i don't have a reason anymore to think the alleged abuse accusations about them is false anymore #and perhaps their victims did retaliate in such a way to ruin their life and have them lose their job health insurence #but by not taking the end of life care and persist to taunt them and play victim ang has made their case look worse and indefensible #that no matter how you slice it no matter what ang has went through and what they did or didn't do to these people they created bad optics #i predict we're going to get another monster ballooned into a bigger monster here and no apology or accountability #this person is like if chris chan had gotten nearly as far as john k. in terms of legitimacy and cult of personality #i'm not being glib if the full story is true #they were exposed time after time but kept muddying the waters like an abuser does by calling their victims the abusers #and people eat it up as lies spread around the world before the truth can put its shoes on #and then leave truth freezing in the rain when it's already not welcomed as lies makes itself at home with your hot cocoa and blanket #i was never invested in rek as i knew od rhen as a person like i saw so many in fandom were #but i see what looks like a bullying campaign and condemned that #but now i have to question if they staged the bullying and exit for sympathy points to fit a narrative #because no former child turned adult would doggedly follow around their abuser from account to account #because they stumbled upon or hacked their adult account and were traumatized to vengeance and decided they need to ruin lives #no it is because ang or rek or whatever couldn't fucking disappear for real and stop bothering these people and prey upon some new ones #again allegedly and just my opinion #idk the real facts than the they said she said of it all
