B, K, M, N, P? <3
thank you!!!! ^_^🖤🖤🖤
send some letters?
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
my friend yuuri got me interested in yusuke/ann as a qp relationship 👀 they got some really cute takes and fics abt their dynamic it's so nice!!!!
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
kageyama tobio my beloved..... askljfldhg maybe it's bc i just told a friend abt him so he's fresh in my mind but. he really does have such a beautiful development and it's so touching to see him not only be loved and appreciated and growing from his past, but keeping these connections for years and seeing how he learned to work in a team...... my baby. so proud of him 🖤
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
yu narukami. hands down. he's my bestie actually we meet up every third saturday for some tea and catching up
ok this is where i started rambling so n and p under the cut!
N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
reading comprehension. amen
aslkjfdgh fr tho:
i wish people were more open minded when it comes to nuance and duality and depth. like i talked with a friend today abt how ppl just refuse to read goro in a nuanced way and take him and everything he says at face value and obviously he comes off as unlikable that way aksfjg but like you also just took away everything that makes his character interesting?? so obviously you can't enjoy him that way??? anyway. i have some rage abt that
polyshipping 👏👏👏👏👏 true abt every fandom tbh. i want more trios quartets and whole ass groups being in romantic relationships. i'd say p5's fandom is generally better at that than others but it's still lacking with anything that isn't like, some basic trios or just polythieves and it's a bit disappointing. so lemme tell you abt my ship of akira/goro/haru/yusuke-
more honesty and genuine creation. like don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of it, but there’s also so much cynicism, like with how meme drawings become more popular than actual serious fanart, or how on certain social medias posting genuine creations, opinions, or pure enjoyment just comes off as cringey and something to make fun of
honestly these are true abt any fandom not just persona akjsdhg but! yeah
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
i honestly really wanna see some superhero aus for persona ngl. like i read a fic like that abt p4 + p5 but they still sorta fought against shadows and such and! no! i want super villains!!!
i think when it comes to powers it’s just. basic mutants shit really. if anyone’s interested i might think up specific powers for everyone but like that’s not the focus rn so!
since i brought up both p4 and p5 i’ll just. go ahead and make one for both. not at the same time tho bc i kinda want it to mirror the games, in a sense
so p5’s obvious. the actual villains from the game, their shadows can even be their villainsonas and their goals as villains are related to that, they just work through different methods that are more sci fi than realistic, and they get beat by the team (who are still vigilantes ofc) in real life
for p4 tho! i think instead of a murder mystery it’s like, a mystery of someone kidnapping people and creating clones for them to sort of replace them? and that’s what their shadows are! and yu starts as a hero (with maybe teddie as a sidekick) to first save yosuke and then he adds people to the team as they save them. when a person beats their clone they get a superpower through that, something abt radiation or w/e, this is how the clones were created and having the same person twice creates a cosmic imbalance and this is how the universe corrects it idk.
i think it would ultimately bc namatame who created these clones, like he got some divine message about society being impure and having to replace the people in it with new ones to save them
no idea how adachi and mitsuo will be involved yet (if you’re reading this you’re welcome to chime in with your own ideas!!!) but i do know dojima is the cop in charge of the investigation and he gets so frustrated with this team of vigilantes who do his job for him because they’re possibly putting humanity in danger by messing with forces none of them understand yet and all those basic superhero tropes aksjfkhgd

hey i heard you have an ace yosuke headcannon. i'm ace and i never got that vibe from him so i would like to hear more about this please and thank you
idk if it was intentional but this sounds kind of... accusatory...? you don't necessarily need to have reason to headcanon a character as identifying with a certain sexuality or gender
I see his whole performative "i like girls, see?!!" thing as trying to convince himself that he's "normal" which can ofc be attributed to his clear attraction to men (i definitely see it as comphet too) but to me it displays an indifference. He always seems to go over the top in trying to affirm his attraction to women (mostly Rise) as if he has no real understanding of sexual attraction. He usually says she's cute, which can absolutely be aesthetic attraction, and I definitely do think he's attracted to women (sorry @ all the gay yosuke truthers) but it seems a little like he's misconstrued his feelings on the matter and acts the way he's seen other guys act, rather than displaying his genuine feelings. It's hard to put it into words but it makes sense in my brain.
It's just the disconnect between things he'll admit to with Yu, versus the way he acts in front of multiple people, like how he's planned out this romantic idea of his first kiss without anyone actually in mind, and how his attraction to Saki was mostly because he felt she understood him rather than physical attraction. You could argue that looks can still be a factor ofc, but the relationships he seems intent in seriously pursuing (Saki and Yu) are more of an emotional connection than say, Rise or Yukiko, which he jokes about and feels like he SHOULD be attracted to them (both are unattainable, which is definitely the "safe" comphet choice for a female crush; Rise's an idol and "out of his league" and Yukiko's clearly not into him and is notorious for turning guys down, hence the Amagi challenge). A lot of it just feels familiar to me. Having to play up a crush on someone widely seen as attractive by other people to fit in with friends is both a gay and ace experience to me.
Also not to get too into it because I don't really like talking about a fictional teen's sex life but because this is ALWAYS brought up as an argument; libido and sexual attraction are not necessarily connected, you can be ace and still be sexually active, asexuality is JUST the absence of sexual attraction, so him owning porn doesn't disprove ace hcs.
But at the end of the day, it's really just because I'm ace and I like ace Yosuke and Yu. 🤷‍♀️

For the character question, Yosuke??
give me a character and I’ll say some stuff about them
YOSUKE!!!! :D answers under read more
do I like them:
I LOVE YOSUKE!!! he took me a while to warm up to (on my first playthrough, I got him to rank 4, and then I got to Kanji’s arc, and then I didn’t touch his s. link again until January), but NOW he’s one of my favorites
5 good qualities:
compassionate!! he’s always checking on how his friends are doing and wants to make sure everyone’s okay. one of the things I really liked about PQ was that they focused on this character trait more and had members of the team POINT IT OUT TO HIM. he deserves that
he’s a huge dork, it’s so sweet when him and Chie get really into something and just start goofing off together (like how excited they are to do a stakeout!!)
Yosuke is very smart and analytical. other than Naoto, he’s the one that consistently makes the most headway on the case. especially in the beginning, since he’s the only one who connected the TV world with the murders
sentimental, but in a good way. he wants to make memories with everyone he cares about, who also care about him. it’s so sweet that he gets so excited planning the ski trip… just wants him and his friends to have a good time ;-;
extremely responsible. he takes Teddie in and takes responsibility for him as an older brother???? and gathers everyone to help look for Nanako when she runs away????? I love him
3 bad qualities:
gets stuck in his head a lot, which leads to him overthinking and making things issues when they really shouldn’t be
doesn’t let himself be himself. he tends to suppress his excitement when he starts to get a little too dorky. also a cause of his treatment of Kanji when he joins the team
look we ALL know how awful it was that atlus took out his romance route, but I’m mentioning it anyway. the two characters flaws I listed are directly related to his internalized homophobia and insecurity / inability to acknowledge his sexuality, and taking out the romance path is insulting to him and his struggles
favourite episode/etc: social link rank:
I ADORE his rank 9…telling Yu that he’s special to him while overlooking the town… hhhhhh he’s so sweet
otp:
Yu / Yosuke. there is SO MUCH THERE for so many reasons. they’re both lonely kids from the city who found each other in a small town, and help one another grow and accept themselves and learn how to have genuine friends ;-;
brotp:
Yosuke and Chie because I love it when they’re dorks together!! they’re both very sweet and responsible, and they have fun together when Yosuke is letting himself be genuine! I also love the idea that Yosuke will call up Chie late at night for no reason, and then they just talk on the phone for a bit
Yosuke and Kou and Daisuke. Kou and Daisuke (especially Daisuke) mention how cool they think Yosuke is multiple times throughout the game, and they think he’s nice, too!! it’s just a nice, friendly group. also, The Magician is the only persona manga I’ve ever read, and I like that they’re friends in it
ot3:
he’s one of those characters that I have a difficult time shipping with anyone outside of the one pairing I really like, so an ot3 doesn’t come to mind
notp:
Yosuke / Chie, it makes me very uncomfortable. they’re just platonic bros
best quote:
everything he says when he’s trying to convince everyone to throw Namatame into the TV tbh. I LOVE that this scene is in the game at all, since the investigation team isn’t a brutal group whatsoever. even though they’re dealing with life or death situations, their general tone is more lighthearted. so to have Yosuke, Yu’s BEST FRIEND, the first social link of the game, give this speech about how the only way to ensure that no other innocent people die is to kill who they think is the perpetrator?? it is so heavy, and emotionally charged, and raw… and is such a great example of how traumatized he is by everything that happened that year. my favorite quote from it is when he says, “someone close to me died… her killer can’t be convicted… and now I’m gonna let the same thing happen again?” holy fuck. it’s powerful and convincing
head canon:
he makes mixtapes for everyone on the investigation team, filled with songs that remind him of them. he hands them out when Yu comes back for summer vacation during his third year
also, he’s bi

Seeking to Seize Chapter 2

Igor calls him a Wild Card
Yu knows he should have more issues with this whole situation than he does. He’s sitting, immobile, in a limo he’s never seen before. The interior is covered in blue velvet and barely lit, making the whole thing even more mysterious than it already is.
He signs, ‘What does that mean?’
The pretty blonde woman holding a book relays this to Igor. There’s a pause, and Yu assumes Igor is speaking, though he can’t tell. It’s similar to the Teddie situation—Igor’s mouth doesn’t move normally, so Yu can’t read his lips. He’s grateful for the interpreter.
Igor replies with, “Your power will come from your heart. To strengthen your heart, you must establish bonds.”
‘Bonds?’
“Connect with the people around you. Force meaningful relationships. These relationships will translate to benefits.”
That sounds kind of artificial to Yu. He doesn’t think many people would want to be friends with someone whose opening line was, “Hey, I want to be your friend for my own benefit!” But somehow Yu gets the feeling Igor knows more than he’s letting on, so he keeps those thoughts to himself. ‘How will I know which relationships are the right ones?’ he asks instead.
Igor says, “You will know.” Then, before Yu can ask another question, he says, “My assistant is Margaret. She will be of invaluable help to you on your journey. The Velvet Room is open to you whenever you have need of it.”
The world lurches, and Margaret and Igor look up. Igor says, “It’s time for you to leave us for now. I look forward to seeing you again.”
Yu closes his eyes, and when they open again he is in his room, having been shaken awake by Nanako.
For a while, Yuu wonders how much of that encounter was real. Then, while he’s walking through the shopping district, he sees an ethereal blue door that everyone else ignores. The key in his pocket grows heavy.
Yu runs into Hanamura on the way to school. He’s a little surprised when Hanamura holds his hands out and bends his index fingers towards each other, mimicking a bow. “I looked up how to say hello!” he says, proud.
For the first time in a long time, Yu’s smile feels genuine.
Despite Amagi’s disappearance hanging over their heads, Yu and Hanamura still meet on the roof at lunch for a JSL lesson. Yu starts off easy, teaching him how to finger spell, and suggests a basic conversation as practice.
Slowly, his hands moving in a way Yu can only describe as a stutter, Hanamura signs, ‘How did you learn to sign?’
‘I’m mostly self-taught. After I got out of the hospital, I got a bunch of books about JSL and practiced in the mirror. I also watched a program on TV where people would play news headlines and sign along with them.’
Hanamura looks like he wants to ask something else, but he suddenly stiffens and his head swings towards the door. Yu, feeling a pull in his chest, does the same, and is only mildly surprised to see Yuk-senpai standing at the entrance to the roof. The third year raises a lazy hand in greeting and says, “Yo.”
Yu and Hanamura both scramble to their feet, lesson forgotten.
Hanamura and Satonaka do their best to relay Teddie’s information to Yu while he nurses his injured hand. He whips his phone out and types, So he doesn’t know if Amagi is in there?
Hanamura shrugs. “That’s what it looks like.”
Satonaka frowns. She looks nervous, and she’s bouncing from one foot to the other in an anxious dance. “I’m going to go to the inn and warn Yukiko.”
“It’s going to rain tonight, right?” Hanamura asks. “Let’s make sure to watch the Midnight Channel. We can decide on our next move from there.” He looks to Yu, his eyes searching for approval, and he only relaxes when Yu nods in agreement.
Chie absently agrees and takes off.
Amused, Yu types, She should just confess to Amagi already and shows it to Hanamura, who turns red.
“You think she—?”
Yu nods.
An odd look crosses Hanamura’s face, like he’s never thought about that before. Maybe, Yu thinks, he hasn’t.
The thing that surprises Yu the most about the Midnight Channel is the subtitles.
They’re stylized to match the absurd get-up Amagi is wearing, pink and bubbly and sparkly, but still clear enough for Yu to read, even at the speed at which they crawl across the screen. He’s pretty sure whatever is causing the Midnight Channel is connected to the Velvet Room, so Yu tells himself to ask Igor about it next time he’s there.
His phone buzzes.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: Did you see that?
[Hanamura Yosuke]: That was Yukiko-san for sure!
[Hanamura Yosuke]: And she looked like she was on some low-budget TV show…
[Hanamura Yosuke]: What’s going on?
[Narukami Yu]: You should try to contact Satonaka.
[Narukami Yu]: She said she was going to see Amagi, right?
[Narukami Yu]: Maybe she saw something.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: That’s a good idea.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: Meet at Junes in the morning?
[Narukami Yu]: Sounds good.
[Narukami Yu]: Try not to worry too much.
[Narukami Yu]: We’ll figure it out.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: Yeah.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: Thanks, Narukami.
[Hanamura Yosuke]: Good night.
As Yu plugs his phone in to charge for the night, he hears Izanagi’s voice in his head. You’ve grown closer to your Magician. Well done.
Why do you keep calling Hanamura a magician? Yu asks. Does this have something to do with those bonds Igor was talking about?
Izanagi sounds amused when he says, Yes, it does. Each of the important links you can forge are associated with the major arcana. Hanamura Yosuke is your Magician. The closer you get to him, the stronger your bond with that arcana will be.
Yu sighs. Looks like I have some more stuff to research.
He falls asleep to the sound of Izanagi’s laugh. Traitor.
In another house in Inaba, four sets of eyes stare at a now-blank television screen. “Well,” the younger girl says, voice deceptively light, “that means it’s starting, doesn’t it?”
The boy next to her huffs. “Those guys have even more problems than we did. All we had to do was deal with a tower and some cancer patients. They have a serial killer.”
The older woman, with platinum blonde hair and piercing yellow eyes, says, “Margaret will take good care of the new Wild Card. He has nothing to worry about!”
The older man stays silent. His only response is to tighten his hand on the younger girl’s shoulder. She doesn’t know if it’s to reassure her or himself.
Good luck, Narukami-kun.
