my top 8 so far hehe
I think I'll stick to Rafael for Briar
For Minji I'm not so sure- in my sims story she's childhood friends with Wakuu so he's a possibility. Luke too since she's originally supposed to be paired up with him.
For Theo I already have a farmer for him- her name isn't decided yet but in my mind she heads to Coral Island after a huge scandal and all she wants is a break.
I don't really know for the rest yet, I'll probably just decide once i actually create a new save file to marry them hehehe.
After these 8 my next top 8 is Surya, Aaliyah, Zara, Noah, Denali, Semeru and Yuri

Likeable Characters: a variety of genres to read
Mermaids in Paradise by Lydia Millet
On the grounds of a Caribbean island resort, newlyweds Deb and Chip—our opinionated, skeptical narrator and her cheerful jock husband who's friendly to a fault—meet a marine biologist who says she's sighted mermaids in a coral reef. As the resort's "parent company" swoops in to corner the market on mythological creatures, the couple joins forces with other adventurous souls, including an ex–Navy SEAL with a love of explosives and a hipster Tokyo VJ, to save said mermaids from the "Venture of Marvels," which wants to turn their reef into a theme park. Mermaids in Paradise is Lydia Millet's funniest book yet, tempering the sharp satire of her early career with the empathy and subtlety of her more recent novels and short stories. This is an unforgettable, mesmerizing tale, darkly comic on the surface and illuminating in its depths.
The Marriage Clock by Zara Raheem
In Zara Raheem's fresh, funny, smart debut, a young, Muslim-American woman is given three months to find the right husband or else her traditional Indian parents will find one for her--a novel with a universal story that everyone can relate to about the challenges of falling in love. To Leila Abid's traditional Indian parents, finding a husband in their South Asian-Muslim American community is as easy as match, meet, marry. But for Leila, a marriage of arrangement clashes with her lifelong dreams of a Bollywood romance which has her convinced that real love happens before marriage, not the other way around. Finding the right husband was always part of her life-plan, but after 26 years of singledom, even Leila is starting to get nervous. And to make matters worse, her parents are panicking, the aunties are talking, and she's wondering, are her expectations just too high? So Leila decides it's time to stop dreaming and start dating. She makes a deal with her parents: they'll give her three months, until their 30th wedding anniversary, to find a husband on her own terms. But if she fails, they'll take over and arrange her marriage for her. With the stakes set, Leila succumbs to the impossible mission of satisfying her parents' expectations, while also fulfilling her own western ideals of love. But after a series of speed dates, blind dates, online dates and even ambush dates, the sparks just don't fly! And now, with the marriage clock ticking, and her 3-month deadline looming in the horizon, Leila must face the consequences of what might happen if she doesn't find "the one..."
By Book or By Crook by Eva Gates
Get bound up in murder in the first Lighthouse Library mystery! For ten years Lucy has enjoyed her job poring over rare tomes of literature for the Harvard Library, but she has not enjoyed the demands of her family’s social whorl or her sort-of-engagement to the staid son of her father’s law partner. But when her ten-year relationship implodes, Lucy realizes that the plot of her life is in need of a serious rewrite. Calling on her aunt Ellen, Lucy hopes that a little fun in the Outer Banks sun—and some confections from her cousin Josie’s bakery—will help clear her head. But her retreat quickly turns into an unexpected opportunity when Aunt Ellen gets her involved in the lighthouse library tucked away on Bodie Island. Lucy is thrilled to land a librarian job in her favorite place in the world. But when a priceless first edition Jane Austen novel is stolen and the chair of the library board is murdered, Lucy suddenly finds herself ensnared in a real-life mystery—and she’s not so sure there’s going to be a happy ending....
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
In a corporate-dominated spacefaring future, planetary missions must be approved and supplied by the Company. Exploratory teams are accompanied by Company-supplied security androids, for their own safety. But in a society where contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder, safety isn't a primary concern. On a distant planet, a team of scientists are conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied 'droid—a self-aware SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module, and refers to itself (though never out loud) as "Murderbot." Scornful of humans, all it really wants is to be left alone long enough to figure out who it is. But when a neighboring mission goes dark, it's up to the scientists and their Murderbot to get to the truth.

Fashion’s biodiversity problem
Tumblr media
Nature is declining at unexampled rates, scientists complete this year. though it’s the results of several tributary and sophisticated factors, fashion may well be one amongst the foremost unmarked.
A huge share of the article of clothing starts out on a farm or during a forest. Its production has caused not simply associate degree transaction in carbon emissions, a tributary to temperature change, however conjointly a decline in diversity — the opposite environmental crisis facing the earth and therefore the focus of associate degree horrifying report the world organization issued earlier this year.
"If no action is taken, fashion brands can notice themselves probably squeezed between falling average per-item costs, deeper discount levels, rising prices and resource deficiency on the worth chain,” the world Fashion Agenda and therefore the state capital Consulting cluster wrote during a joint 2017 report evaluating the industry’s impacts on the surroundings, as well as diversity.
Leather associate degreed viscose — that is commonly touted as an eco-friendly fiber — square measure among the foremost damaging materials, a tributary to deforestation in precious ecosystems as well as the Amazon. regarding eighty percent of land-based diversity depends on forests, and once a forest is cleared, gone with it square measure the plants and animals that known as it home. Cotton, too, has broken natural habitats by exchange native vegetation, whereas intensive use of pesticides has caused insect populations and diversity within the soil to plummet. Wool and cashmere square measure likewise driving environs loss and soil degradation at a dangerous speed.
An imperative crisis
Impacts vary by class, however out and away the largest is environs loss, that is pushing species “to the brink of extinction”, says Nicole Rycroft, founder and decision-maker folks environmental organization cover. Across the earth, populations of vertebrate animals have plummeted by regarding sixty percent since 1970 — and fewer than twenty percent of the world’s ancient forests stay massive enough to take care of the biological diversity that’s there.
In 2016, the International Union for Conservation of Nature highlighted associate degree “urgent need” for the attire sector to require action on its role in diversity loss. The trade didn’t quite jump into gear, however, this year diversity did feature collectively of the 3 main pillars within the Fashion treaty, the set of property objectives free at the G7 Summit in August with signatories as well as Zara parent company Inditex, H&M Group, Kering, and Chanel.
The first step brands take as a part of their diversity commitment is to live their impacts on key species and ecosystems.
The results may be stunning. Kering, for instance, learned once it compiled its Environmental Profit & Loss statement that albeit its brands don’t get greatly cashmere relative to different materials, it had associate degree outsize environmental impact and was degrading ecosystems. (It has since modified its sourcing strategy — a lot of from Kering in our next installment.)
Stella songwriter reportedly off a procurement of viscose once learning the provider didn’t adhere to the standards of not sourcing from ancient or vulnerable forests.

Cotton is that the commonest natural material utilized in an article of clothing, creating up a 3rd of all textile fibers. It uses 2.4 percent of the world’s cropland, however a full sixteen percent of the world’s pesticides, in step with chemical Action Network. “When you spray everything chemically, you destroy all the life,” says Helen of Troy Crowley, World Health Organization heads property sourcing at Kering. (She is presently on sabbatical and serving briefly as senior authority for resilient provide chains at Conservation International.)
The impacts of this intensive agriculture aren't distinctive to fashion — abundant of the world’s food is fully grown during a similar manner, with similar impacts. whereas elements of the food trade have begun to shift practices in response to public pressure, it’s not quick enough for conservationists, World Health Organization would love to envision forceful changes across the board, as well as on farms that offer fast-fashion brands, luxury homes, and everything middle.
“The undeniable fact that there's diversity — or accustomed be diversity, even worse — on farms is admittedly invisible,” says Julie Stein, decision-maker of life Friendly Enterprise Network. particularly on farms that square measure a part of international provide chains and grow only 1 crop on an outsized scale — a system referred to as monoculture — the life is already gone. “And then our cultural memory that there accustomed be life on farms is additionally gone, and it becomes the new tradition that life isn’t a part of that equation.”
Evolved farming practices will facilitate
Because of what quantity of the world’s land is employed for farming, this has profound impacts — however, there's the conjointly profound chance. life typically lives in protected areas, however, it doesn’t, and can’t, exist there completely. “Agricultural lands square measure Alaska for life,” says Stein. “Species ought to be ready to move out of their very little protected island at some purpose, particularly with temperature change and every one the threats that bring to life. they'll need to migrate for mates, for food, for shelter.”
Her organization works with farmers to form their lands accommodating for life — with selected stress on massive predators due to their importance not solely within the organic phenomenon, however within the ripple effects that chain has on things like water quality and carbon storage in soil. “If you don’t have apex carnivores within the system, everything from the highest down is affected, all the way down to the microbes within the soil,” she says.
Less than twenty percent of the world’s ancient forests stay massive enough to take care of the biological diversity that’s there.

The soil has return below its own spotlight. It’s one amongst the foremost biodiverse ecosystems on the earth — with microscopic life most of the people can ne'er see, nonetheless is directly connected with the range of life on top of the ground. however it’s below threat: scientists have the same if current practices persist, the world’s soil will solely support another sixty crop harvests. “We’ve simply been pounding the soil. But soil, it’s just like the skin on our earth. It’s an animate thing,” says Crowley.
Unsustainable agriculture and deforestation square measure culprits, however, therefore, is overgrazing by animals. A majority of Mongolia’s grasslands, for instance, are degraded and square measure slowly turning into a desert. Overgrazing of eutherian — cashmere goats particularly — is answerable for quite three-quarters of the decline, that is elaborately connected with wearing away.
But it’s not on the subject of grass and soil: those changes threaten the vary of life that inhabit the realm, several of them already rare or vulnerable, as well as snow leopards, ibex, golden eagles, and boreal owls. Elsewhere, overgrazing for wool and different fibers will shift the vegetation balance — increasing grass-like plants and decreasing woody shrubs and trees, whereas conjointly eating away soil.
Plant-based fibers will have negative impacts, too
Viscose and different cellulose-based fibers square measure directly driving deforestation within the Amazon, Indonesia, North America et al.. quite a hundred and fifty million trees square measure logged for these fibers annually and use of the material has been ascent quickly, in step with cover. It’s particularly difficult, says Rycroft, as a result of viscose could be a “very inefficient fiber”. It takes up to four.5 heaps of trees to form one ton of viscose. “In a resource-constrained world, I simply don’t assume we will afford that level of unskillfulness.”
A growing range of brands have wanted a lot of property sources of viscose, however, it’s not forever a simple switch. Frank Philip Stella songwriter, a partner of CanopyStyle, off a procurement of viscose once learning the provider didn’t adhere to the standards of not sourcing from ancient or vulnerable forests, in step with Rycroft. (Stella songwriter declined to comment.)
Leather and fur square measure escalating the harm
Leather is one amongst the foremost profitable merchandise of the eutherian trade, which could be a major explanation for deforestation and uses regarding eighty percent of agricultural lands globally. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has the same the eutherian trade is additionally probably the biggest supply of apparel-related pollution, inflicting “dead” zones in coastal areas and degradation of coral reefs, among different environmental and human health issues.
While a little share of sourcing, wild animals killed for his or her skins and furs square measure direct hits to ecosystems. Removing predators like massive cats cannot solely threaten that species, however, shift the relationships between all the animals below it on the organic phenomenon. Trappers conjointly catch unplanned animals, which then has its own unpredictable system impacts.
Then there’s the difficulty of packaging. no matter what garments square measure made from, the packaging they're shipped in is another driver of deforestation, and one thing the trade has to reckon with.
On the entire, there’s been some movement.
LaRhea Pepper, the decision-maker of Textile Exchange, says quite sixty brands that her organization partners with have committed to finding a lot of property solutions for a hundred percent of their cotton by 2025. whereas that’s important, it remains a call the ocean. “It’s regarding about to vital mass, about to a hundred percent of brands having totally accountable solutions across the board.”

Cuba - Day 6.
The last Cuba post! This day was dedicated to being a pure beach bum. It's always nice to just fully relax on the last day of a holiday. So, outfits as follows:
Che Guevara oversized t-shirt in red. I got this from the hotel we were at in Havana. I used it as a beach cover up. I wasn't planning to but it matched my red lipstick so why not! For the evening I wore a red gold chain maxi dress from Zara. This dress is truly beautiful! The material is soft and smooth, the shape is a gorgeous fit and flare and the chain neck looks divine! My black velvet box clutch is also from Zara. I wore coral coloured flip flops with the dress instead of heels since you couldn't see them and also because why not!
Cuba has been unreal! I was so sad to leave, it's been my favourite holiday for sure! From the busy streets of Havana to the pristine beaches of Varadero to the charm of the small cities of the island to the colourful town of Trinidad. I loved every moment and will never forget this place! Make sure you visit this magical island! You won't regret it!

As well as killer heels, thigh-skimming dresses and plunging necklines, the event is famous for its display of flamboyant headgear.
Soldiers of the Irish Guards were seen marching through the grounds as day 1 of the Grand National Festival 2019 at Aintree Racecourse kicked off.

Day two of the event three-day event, is famously Ladies Day, where female racegoers get out their best outfits and put on an array of daring displays, with the ‘best-dressed’ receiving the coveted award.
According to racecourse bosses, there’s no strict dress code for the festival as there is for Royal Ascot.
Guidance on the course website reads: ‘Although there is no official dress code, smart is preferable and is often adopted.
‘Aintree is a spectacle of colour throughout the year, with many using their trip to the racecourse as an opportunity to showcase their favourite raceday outfits. Hats are optional too, but are frequently worn.’
Fancy dress and ‘offensive clothing’ also make an appearance on the list of banned items this year.
Going for nude: Elsewhere guests opted for a nude palette, wearing beige coats, pale pink frocks, tan sandals and sand coloured suits
Ladies arrive ahead of the Ladies Day: A group of women looked chic in monochrome outfits with one lady standing out in orange

Actress Amy Jackson looked chic in a black trouser suit embellished with heart-shaped buttons, teaming it with a monochrome hat and heels
However, in recent years event organisers have been trying to encourage a more conservative approach.
In 2015, an optional ‘style code’ was released in an effort to smarten up the event and encourage more sophisticated fashion.
The guide was devised by fashion writers from Vogue and Tatler in conjunction with Justine Mills, owner of Liverpool designer boutique Cricket – a favourite with WAGs such as Coleen Rooney.
It was inspired by the Coco Chanel quote: ‘Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.’
At the time, John Baker, the northwest regional director for the Jockey Club, which owns Aintree, said he hoped to help give the event a facelift.
Making the street their runway! Female racegoers arrived in a flurry of frills, glitter and towering heels as they prepared for a day of festivities
Turning heads! A group of ladies injected a splash of colour to the dreary day as they arrived in a flurry of bright dresses, polka dots and head-turning fascinators
Feeling blue! Posing against a flowerwall these ladies certainly made for a pretty picture as they posed in sky-blue frocks and pretty bags
Lots to talk about! Two women in transparent heels were seen arriving at the venue in white blazers and pale pink dresses, left, while  two others enjoyed a drink as they admired the fashion on display
Security officials were seen making stringent security checks on Friday morning ahead of day one of the much-anticipated racing event.
Racegoers have always been subject to strict security procedures brought in after the IRA bomb scare in 1997, with only small handbags allowed to be brought into the event.
Bets will be placed on the top racehorses getting in on the action, including Clan Des Obeaux and Bristol De Mai in the Betway Bowl.
Hold on to your hats! One lady  teamed her bright sequin-encrusted frilly frock with her hat as she beamed during her arrival to the festival
Others battled the high winds with skill as they arrived in an array of colours for day two of the three-day Aintree races on Friday
Pretty in pastels! An array of guests opted for different hues of blue and pastel frocks, matching them to their colourful heels as they arrived
More than £1.5million has been invested in trying to protect the welfare of horses, following the recent deaths of horses Sir Erec and Invitation Only at Cheltenham, which sparked animal welfare protests.
Aintree has said it has ensured the safest ground is available to be raced on at all times, regardless of the weather and climate conditions.
The grass is cut to precisely four inches for the whole circuit to provide plenty of cushion. Even the species of grass, make-up of the soil and measured watering is considered to ensure the ground is safer for horses to run on while the take-off and landing areas around the fences have been created with greater spring in the ground.
Jockey Leighton Aspell, who won successive Nationals in 2014 and 2015, said: ‘There are two things particularly that have changed for the better. Firstly the core of the fences is now much softer and safer and secondly the bypass of the fences, particularly for the loose horses. Every year, Aintree takes another step in the right direction.’
Veterinary teams assess the health of horses as soon as they arrive to certify they are safe to race and not a danger to themselves or other horses.
Grand! A group of ladies were seen putting on a classy display in elegant frocks and hats, while another lady opted for a purple ensemble and matching hat
Matching in red! Two ladies posed alongside a soldier who posed with his Irish wolfhound
These ladies turned heads in their form-fitting drocks as they navigated the damp pavements ahead of the festivities
A grand display! These glamorous guests brought a welcome splash of fluorescent colour to the festivities
An early bird couple were seen arriving at the venue in their best attire, with the female racegoer matching her pink heels to her dramatic dress
Stylish in shades! Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams turned the fashion stakes up a notch as they donned some chic sunglasses for the event – despite the chilly weather conditions
Security officials were seen making stringent security checks on Friday morning ahead of day one of the much-anticipated racing event
Dancing al fresco! The ladies made the most of the milder weather and enjoyed a dance on the grass during the races
Racegoers arrive by train to attend Ladies Day on the second day of the Grand National Festival horse race meeting at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool,
Turning heads! Two ladies put their best feet forward as they made their way across the pink carpet and enjoyed a tipple
More than £1.5million has been invested in trying to protect the welfare of horses, following the recent deaths of horses Sir Erec and Invitation Only at Cheltenham, which sparked animal welfare protests – the race seen today

The 3 Golden Rules Of One-Night Stand Etiquette
In high school, I vowed to never have a one-night stand. “I don’t do things like that!” I would prudishly show off to all the skater boys I sat with at lunch.
Even though I was a closet lesbian, I still wanted all of them to want me. I was at that age whenI needed incessant boy validation to feel pretty (I still enjoy it, even though straight men are entirely irrelevant creatures in my life).
I have a lot of older, very pretty sisters and a gorgeous, blonde-haired, ex-supermodel mother. I grew up in a collective of man slayers. They were the kind of girls whocould bring men to their knees with one bitchy smirk and bat of the lash. They broke fragile boy hearts all the time, recklessly played with boy feelings and always made sure they were just out of reach of boy.
“The trick to getting a MAN is to be entirely unavailable,” my older sister, Audra, would tell me. I would sit on her pretty pink bedspread mesmerized as I watched her get ready for dates in complete fascination. She would pile on loads of mascara, spray her entire body down with Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance (the coolest fragrance in the late ’90s) and pout at her reflection.
“No matter what happens tonight, I’m not going to have sex with him. I MIGHT give him a blowjob, but I’m not going to f*ck him,” she would say to herself, repeating it like some sort of yoga mantra.
“Z, you can never have sex with boys until you’ve got them LOCKED in. Drive them nuts, and then, when they’re about to explode, you can have sex with them,” she would dutifully lecture me as she sipped on her pre-date “personality drink” of vodka and crystal light (“less calories” she would say, as she mixed coral-colored powder into her cocktail).
“Us Barrie girls don’t do one-night stands,” my mother would instruct me when I asked her what the rules were about sex, her posh English accent loudly emphasizing “BarrieGirls” for dramatic effect. It’s a lot of pressure being a BarrieGirl.
I was taught that a woman’s sexuality is the most powerful thing in the world, and you should use it to get what you want. I know, sweet kittens, a twisted and a dated mentality, but I didn’t grow up with sex-positive feminism likesome girls did.
So naturally, I followed mypretty sisters’ and mother’s lead. I dressed provocatively my whole life. I kissed boys for hours upon hours upon hours, but I never slept with them. Ever.
I mean in hindsight it was sort of a sneaky lesbian move, I guess. The thought of sex with men repulsed me (Sorry boys, I love you; I just don’t want to f*ck you.) — but it was deeper than that. I wanted to be a girl who was wanted and desired like my sisters. And those bitches held out.
Of course the rules get harder to follow when you leave home and alcohol, and clubs, and bars are suddenly thrown into your life mix. No one ever told me how different life is when you leave your parents house and enter a new world where the good ol’ bad decision-making-power of booze plays such a HUGE factor.
And eventually, I had a one-night stand.
It was one of the last men I ever slept with. No, he wasn’t creepy, or old, or awful. He was a cute blond boy who had pretty girl eyes, the kind of eyes with endless lashes that tickled his dewy brow bone. (I will spread my legs for anyone with a good set of eyelashes.)
We met at a faceless bar on Santa Monica Boulevardand somehow ended up in a heated discussion about our mutual love of the smashing pumpkins — I believe I recited all of the lyrics to “Zero,” (Emptiness is loneliness, and loneliness is cleanliness, and cleanliness is godliness, and GOD IS EMPTY JUST LIKE ME!) which hugely impressed him.
I drank cosmopolitans because I was too young to know it wasn’t cool to drink cosmopolitans.
The next thing I knew, I was in his smelly bedroom at his sh*thole apartment in Venice Beach. There werebongs everywhere, and his bedsheets werebedazzled with inexplicable holes.
“I’m not going to have sex with you — I came OVER TO CUDDLEEEE,” I slurred to him, attempting to be prim and proper. Note to self: When you’re wearing nothing but a leopard-print bra, reek of Marlboro Lights and cheap vodka — it’s a little too late to play the prim card.
“That’s totally fine. I’m down to cuddle, with you, Zara,” this boy creature slurred back at me, a bemused twinkle in his ice blue eyes. I guess this wasn’t his first rodeo.
But it was my first rodeo. I didn’t yet realize that cuddling with a stranger in a lace thong and leopard-print bra when you’re wasted will almost always lead to sex. What can I say? I was green.
Of course we had sex. We had detached sex. He just pounded himself inside me, and BAM, it was over in five minutes.
I woke up at 8 am the sunlight penetrating through his curtain-lesswindows, his naked back to me. I scanned the room with sore, hungover eyes.
It was full of filthy socks, and dirty weed, and half-drank beer bottles. Is this how boys live? I thought to myself, wishing to the higher power up above that I was in my pretty petal pink West Hollywood apartment.
I searched for my underwear feeling like a Hollywood streetwalker.
I felt cheap, and used, dehydrated and disgusting. I snuck off to the bathroom to call my older sister to pick me up. The bathroom looked how I imagine the bathrooms at Riker’s Island look: bare. dirty. piss-stained.
I’m never doing this again, I though to myself. I’m such A WHORE. Why am I SUCH A WHORE? Why do I want to cry?
Of course I did it again, with a man or two, but mainly with women. And the experiences with women weren’t nearly as traumatic as that first slut-walk of shame.
“Well that’s because you’re a lesbian!” you’re thinking to yourself, eyes rolling out of your head.
Well, yes, I am a giant, mega lez, but that’s NOT why I’ve been able to have one-night stands with women without feeling like the scum of the earth the morning after.
It’s because my sex partners had firmly followed proper one-night stand etiquette. Women are much better at one-night stand etiquette. (For the most part, anyway. There are definitely a few lesbian f*ckgirls who are sh*tty at it too.)
If you’re going to have a one-night stand and want to make it a pleasant experience, you need to follow these three simple rules.
1. This is obvious: CLEANYOURAPARTMENT.
There is nothing worse than going home with a person (guy, girl, whatever!) and waking up in TRASH. You’re already going to feel vulnerable after a one-night stand. That’s not what you want me to say, but I refuse to lie to you.
Sex is awesome. We love sex, but sex is definitely vulnerable. Someone is inside of you. There is nothing more intimate than that.
You will feel twice as vulnerable the next morning when you wake up in a room that smells like socks and BO. You can’t help but feel cheap when there aredirty dishes everywhere.
You want to know a secret? The whole reason my apartment is always looking so fierce and clean is because I want it to look good in case I meet a hot girl and decide to bring her home. I don’t want to bring someone home and have herwake up feeling horrible because she’sin a wildly disorganized mess. I have too much respect for womento do that.
When shewakes up from a one-night and opens her eyes to a beautiful apartment with fresh flowers that smells like Windex and incense, she’llfeel empowered. She’ll be like, “Yeah, I HAD A ONE-NIGHT STAND. GOOD FOR ME.”
You always want your one-night stand to leave your apartment feeling empowered.
2. You don’t have to have breakfast, butSHE/HE GETS TO STAY THE NIGHT.
“So, I f*cked this guy, and afterward, he was like ‘You should probably leave because we’re just f*cking,’” my friend Marissa* lamented during our mid-week wine/bitch session.
I nearly spit my $18 glass of white wine out of my mouth. (I’m basic. I know.)
LOOK. Just because it’s “casual sex” doesn’t mean it isn’t still SEX. You just participated in a deeply intimate act with another human being. Fluids were exchanged. You can sleep next to each other for Christ’s sake.
There is no feeling more demeaning than having raw, naked sex and being told to exit the premises right afterward. Don’t have sex with a personif you can’t handle him or herspending the night.
If heor she wants to leave — that’s totally fine. But you don’t kick people out! It’s rude.
However, you’re not obligated to have breakfast together. Just lie if they suggest breakfast and you’re not feeling it. I fully endorse lying to protect the feelings of a fragile-hearted one-night stand.
Say you have a meeting, you’re having lunch with you’re oldest friend, you signed up for one of those ClassPass workout things and you’re running late, you’re on a deadline for one of the 1,500-word articles you pump out every day or you’re off to a funeral.
No one questions a funeral.
3. Make sure to usea condom. Please. A CONDOM.
I know I don’t have sex with boys, but if I have to purchase “Plan B” for my panicked straight girlfriends ONE MORE TIME, I’M GOING TO JUMP OUT THE WINDOW CLOAKED IN VINTAGE CHANEL AND SPLATTER ACROSS WEST 24Th STREET.
I get it. Condoms SUCK. But look, it’s a one-night stand! You don’t know this person. No matter how textbook “pretty” she is or how clean cut his dweeby sweater is — it doesn’t mean he or she isn’t riddled with a laundry list of STDS.
And there is no morning-after pill for an STD, babes.

It’s Better in the Tropical Paradise of Bali
Tumblr media
The tropical paradise of Bali is an oasis within the diverse country of Indonesia, filled with tourist hotspots and breathtaking views- life is better in Bali.
Differing from the majority of Indonesians who identify as Muslims, Balinese culture supports the polytheistic religion of Hinduism. Much of the culture within the Indonesian island is unique due to its traditions, art, and religion.
This is a traveler’s paradise, as a popular destination Bali can accommodate budgets and interests of all travelers. Here is a list of some of the best places to discover within the island that allow tourists to take on a tropical state of mind.
Things to Keep in Mind about Bali
The first being that the traffic is absolutely awful. Always schedule extra time to travel to places, what you think is a 15 or 20 minute drive is more realistically an hour, especially if you are travelling during rush hour.
The second thing to know is that Bali is home to some of the worlds most unique coffee, Luwak coffee. As on the of most expensive coffees in the world it is worth visiting a plantation and seeing first hand what the fuss is about. Using partly digested coffee cherries that come from the feces of the animal the toddy cat, the coffee is surprisingly delicious.
The third thing to know about Bali, is that this island is so beautiful almost everywhere you go there will be an incredible beach, waterfall, mountain, or volcano. So go and explore the island, because each town and city will have a different vibe to it, making this an amazing tourist destination.
Ubud
This is the perfect place to visit for tourists that are looking for an easygoing area that has a mix between small town and big city. Differing from the craziness of the capital of Indonesia called Jakarta, Ubud is surrounded by nature and rice paddies.
Within the town there are many local markets, local craft shops, restaurants, and coffee shops, in contrast directly outside of Ubud are rice paddies and jungle.  This combination allows tourists to visit a place with a good mix between tranquility and city life.
There are a variety of things to do in the areas surrounding Ubud such as the Monkey Forest, Puri Saraswati Temple, Mount Batur, Batur Natural Hot Springs, and the Pura Tanah Lot Temple. The Monkey Forest is literally crawling with monkeys; it is an exciting experience to get up-close to these animals. However beware that these furry rascals might run off with your belongings.
The Puri Saraswati Temple is an absolutely stunning piece of architecture surrounded by a pond filled with lotus flowers and lily pads. The elegant temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess of the arts and knowledge, named Saraswati.
Another beautiful place worth visiting is Mount Batur, this 2 hour trek up the volcano is exhausting but beautiful. To summit Mout Batur, it is recommended to go with a guide, especially to view the sunrise. The views from the top are absolutely incredible yet be sure to bring a sweater because the top of the mountain is freezing because of the wind and the high altitude.
A fun place to visit after an exercised filled morning are the Batur Natural Hot Springs, these are various pools and fountains beside a lake, which offers views of the volcano. There are many different pools with various temperatures; making this a place everyone can enjoy the water.
Near Ubud is another very popular temple called Pura Tanah Lot, it is built on a rock formation directly on the Indian Ocean. Tanah means, “Land in the Sea” in Balinese, and the temple is though to be protected by venomous sea snakes that live in the coral reef below the temple. It has beautiful architecture but is famous for its stunning view over rocky cliffs and with white sand and palm trees. It is unique and can only be visited during low tide; yet the best time to see the Pura Tanah Lot is during sunset.
Ubud is a fun place to visit; it has many different things to do within the town and is a great hub that is near by many naturally beautiful spots. Yet expect a lot of insects because of the rice paddies that surround the town.
  Kuta
This beach town is a backpackers paradise, as one of the most westernized parts of Bali. It has a carefree and upbeat vibe. This is a place to visit if you are looking for a more Western area that is made for tourists. Some people absolutely adore the vibe of the city and others really dislike it, it really depends on what you are looking for as a traveler.
Kuta once was a small rustic and simple fishing village but has quickly transformed into a tourism hub and is known for its hotels, shopping, and dining options. This town even has a McDonalds, Starbucks, and a variety of western foods and clothing brands such as Zara.
Catering to tourists, there are a diverse spread of restaurants such as Mexican, Italian, and there are many unique cafes that serve vegan and vegetarian food. Along the main beach road of Jalan Pantai there are numerous shops for tourists to visit. Across the street at the beach, a surfboard can be easily rented and the calm waves create an amazing place to learn how to surf.
As the sunsets, the long beach is the best spot to see the beautiful colors from the sky reflect on the ocean. Following sunset some of the best nightlife on the island can be found in the neighbouring areas of Seminyak and Legian, which are notorious for their vibrant parties. Check out the Potato Head beach bar in Seminyak for an incredible nightlife experience.
Canggu
Similar to Kuta, Canggu is also a beach town and surfers paradise, however it is less touristic than Kuta. It is smaller and it has a nice combination of allowing travelers to feel like they are outside of the fast paced city life, yet it is big enough to allow for a vibrant social life.
There are many different villas and hotels, which attract expats from around the world to participate in the yoga, trendy, hipster beach vibe of Canggu.
The food scene is one of the best in the island and visitors could eat at a new café every single day on their vacation and not be bored by the diverse selection.
The ocean and rice fields surround this small area, giving visitors the ability to connect with nature while also enjoying the carefree vibe of island life. Come here for the art markets, to learn to surf, the friendly expats, and the ocean however it is more expensive compared to other areas on the island. It’s relatively pricier than other spots on the island, yet in general Bali is much cheaper for anyone on a North American or European budget.
Jimbaran
This little fishing village is another costal hotspot and is known for its amazing seafood restaurants and the tropical forest behind it. This is a lively place to visit with an array of colorful boats along the coast that bounce in the waves.
Here there is Balangan Beach, which is another surfing spot, really there is good surfing at almost every turn in Bali. There are many resorts and five star hotels in this area, and compared to other spots such as Kuta it is a lot quieter and more relaxed.
This is the perfect area to have an intimate seafood dinner on the beach, while watching the sunset.
The Gili Islands
Even though these islands are outside of the island of Bali, they are so amazing that anyone who visits Bali should boat over to these three tiny isalnds.
Gili Air, Gili Meno, and Gili Trawangan are stereotypically incredibly; they have white sand shores, tall palm trees swaying in the wind, coral reefs, and swallow, warm, turquoise water.
Each island has a different specialty, on Gili Meno, the smallest island there is Turtle Point, which is a heaven for any animal lover that wants to see sea turtles swimming. There is also a turtle sanctuary that has bathtubs and pools on the beach for baby loggerhead and green turtles. At Gili Trawangan, which is the largest island of the three there is a sunken ship Wreck that can be explored.
There is snorkeling and horseback riding offered on the beach and it is becoming more developed and has things to do for people of all ages. This is defiantly a great place to go to relax and explore the very slow paced island life.
*********************************
Bali is an incredible place that is truly a mix a culture and natural beauty, the diverse island offers many things for all different types of travelers. Life really is better in Bali, and is the definition of tranquility and relaxation.

Dhivehi Artists worth following on Instagram
This is a list of exceptional Maldivian / Dhivehi artists to follow on instagram. I've limited the list to artists with public accounts. Each artist chosen adds something unique to the landscape of Maldivian art. Some are professional artists, others are the kind of people who occasionally produce work that is so incredible that it makes you wish they were. I have tried to pick a piece that represents each ones style; although in the case of some artists this is more difficult than the others as they are so versatile. They are presented in no particular order.

The blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) is a species of requiem shark, in the family Carcharhinidae, easily identified by the prominent black tips on its fins (especially on the first dorsal fin and its caudal fin). Among the most abundant sharks inhabiting the tropical coral reefs of the Indianand Pacific Oceans, this species prefers shallow, inshore waters. Its exposed first dorsal fin is a common sight in the region.

I wonder what they were talking about .. i was tripping epic when this happened and could barely hear the argument; the wind and the clouds they play a harsh tune when you are that up high.. at least that day.. and no I wasn't a part of the quarrel.. invisibility sugar cubes!! I was just floating around looking for my shoes, left them by the sky centuries ago... and I needed them to finally stand on my own feet, may dad wanted his magic carpet back. He let me borrow it, he's nice like that. Anyways.. steer clear of these two unless you're geared up for stealth or combat... or some sort of wizardry I don't know., gtg.. gonna have sun biscuits dipped in the oceans of Venus 🌅

It’s Better in the Tropical Paradise of Bali
