In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.

I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!

From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!

I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.

The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.

(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)

If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.

The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.

insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box

add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box

delete -> self explanatory

on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic

The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.

Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

If the drawings weren't clear or you need an explanation: (it's quite long btw)

Sun and Mountain - this refers to their names; For Hinata, 日向 means "facing sun". For Kageyama, 影山 means shadow mountain.

Summer and Winter - this refers to their birthdays. For Hinata, it's June 21, the summer solstice. For Kageyama, it's December 22, the winter solstice.

Sunflower and Hydrangea - this refers to their overall story in which Sunflowers refers to Hinata's adoration to the Small Giant and his loyalty to the sports. It also represents Hinata's personality. For Blue Hydrangea, this refers to Kageyama's regrets and rejection during his middle school and his gratitude to Hinata for being by his side. (Ngl, I'm just saying nonsense at this point, I have no idea what I'm saying) Sunflowers and blue hydrangeas also look good together as a bouquet.

Oranges and Blueberries - this is mostly for the colors and how often these fruits are associated with the duo. Though, another reason why I choose this is that they also taste good together ✨

Platonic Tsukishima and Hinata - Short Drabble

This is my first time doing this T-T

Tsukishima has never been a friend that can be leaned on. He was sarcastic and rude. Hell, he would most likely make everything worse. And yet for no reason, he was here in the cafe he often went to, sitting together with Hinata. The shortie who he envied and teased the majority of the time.

He doesn't understand why he even invited this guy. As far as he remembered, he was planning to ignore him. However, the depressing look he saw in Hinata was quite irritating to see, especially when the shortie was the sunshine of the group most of the time.

His fight with Kageyama earlier was stupid, he didn't even understand why it became such a huge thing in the first place. Tsukishima couldn't help but sighed. How did he even get himself in this position? He then looked up to the orange-haired and with reluctancy, he opened his mouth.

"You should try the strawberry shortcake, it's my go-to dessert whenever I feel down."

He exclaimed, startling the other. Well, he wasn't usually this domestic. Hinata, still baffled, finally nodded as a reply and began to look through the menu. At least the awkward atmosphere was now quite comfortable.

its funny to me when i remember how people like to discredit skk by saying “dazai died for oda he wouldnt do that for chuuya”

like yeah ure right. he wouldnt. do you know why? because dazai LIVED for chuuya. a person who did not want to live, did not care about anything in the world except for a painless way out of it bc he found the concept of living pointless, chose to continue to live after he met chuuya. dazai won’t die for chuuya. dazai would LIVE for him. And that itself to me is enough to show the love he has for chuuya.
