Today, I was asked by my childhood friend to be a Godmother to her son. Needless to say I am grateful and excited but I have no idea what a good Godmother needs to do? I would hate to be an absentee Godparent and would love to actually be involved.

The #Cablecar system in #SanFrancisco is awesome. I was able to take the cable car twice as an actual mode of transportation instead of just for tourism purposes.

A Thankful Post

I wake up everyday recognizing that I am blessed and for that, I am extremely thankful. I am thankful for everything I have, but this weekend, I especially feel grateful for having the opportunity to meet so many people from different parts of the world and listening to their amazing life stories.

This year, I've had the opportunity to travel to new places and rekindle old relationships. Every story I've heard has reinforced my belief in the resiliency of the human spirit and every situation I've experienced has contributed to a richer sense of being. Because of this, I carry away a readjusted sense of normalcy.

My ardent hope is for everyone in this world to be kinder. I've also witnessed some unfortunate times in my travels and no, it was not just moments lost in cultural translation. Kindess and recognizing everyone's worth, no matter how big or small of a role they play in life can work wonders. Saying "please" and "thank you" to a server, holding the door open to a stranger, helping a mom push a stroller over a gap.. these are little things anyone can do. It doesn't cost anything and when someone is having a crappy day, validating their existence becomes such a priceless gift. My parents taught me this lesson very early in life and for that, I am also extremely grateful.

Visiting a city's #Chinatown is something I love doing. I find that Chinatown usually encompasses an area of town that's not just representative of China, but also of other Asian cultures. However, #Sanfrancisco's Chinatown definitely felt more distinctly Chinese and it was heart-warming for me to see older Chinese men and women playing traditional Chinese musical instruments just at a street corner.
