DOOM - a micro fiction
“Wait! Listen to me!” The giant, ebon skinned man rumbled out beneath the inhuman screams and collapsing buildings, “If you want to live through all of this - listen to me, damn it! You need me!”
The far- too- experienced- with- this- bullshit man finally stopped and turned, dutifully ready to continue on his way and get shit done. “Whadya mean, ‘you need me?’ Whadya - ”
“Listen carefully, marine: this has nothing to do with your skills and abilities to fight and survive, so check that ego,” the giant mans’ custom to his specifications military armour glistened alive with each dancing flame, every explosion that shook the earth, and he popped off a quick shot of his plasma rifle, the bright, soothing blue energy devouring a floating, grotesque head behind him. All teeth, claws and unholy screeches collapsed to the broken ground in a rancid heap, and the sanguine sky above showed the giant man to be far more menacing than he already was. “Some on the human side want you dead. They believe that the sooner this is all over, the sooner they can extinguish you and act like none of this ever happened.”
The younger marine rolled his eyes, “Oh. I know. UAC.”
“Precisely. Which is why you need me. You’re important and they can’t touch me.”
The massive, dark skinned senior marine slid a white toothed grin. It was an alarmingly genuine and unusual smile. Maybe it was all the death, destruction, and these hellish half automatons… Demons? Monsters?
The young marine surveyed the catastrophe around him. The invasion had reached Earth before he could ever stop it, and still gargantuan, horned, half mechanical demonic creatures, some just as large, mechanical spiders like something out of an 1980’s nightmare, commanded nearly all current life on this planet. Less and less of it was human. Not much of a reason to smile these days but out of madness, and this was all clearly insane.
The young marine decided to match the persistent mans grin, “Alright. Let’s say I do in fact need you: What makes you s'goddamned special?”
The giant man was instantly less than inches away from his HUD visor, the same grin cracking his unreasonably aged and battle ridden face, “I am UAC.”

"DON'T WANT TO KNOW"
“DON’T WANT TO KNOW”
No need to fret
No need for concern
Or cause alarm
Inclination to worry is
Overridden by primal foundation
Inside, you record numbers of ticks
Errors in that coding
Become seconds to meltdown
Hack that base program
And you deny your own work
Each incarnation of flesh
Self prescribed
self medicated
Sweating from the glow of illusion
Or do they creep closer
Out of the setting dawn?
Forever in circles
Infinite sources
flavours of the years
Though no one cracks smiles
Your adamancy to stir up dust
Now fails to obscure
secret documentation
Files exposed
Yet no one’s surprised
You’re as invasive as
The men you fear you hear
A cure’s then presented
As a means to cope with collapse
Your plan to infect came into effect
Spoiled on fairer sides of immorality
Even demented intentions
Akin to the rush from your mothers
Your life spans mere minutes
Before then blind with disease
The cure that you needed
Cancer blacked virus
You snorted and spit out
into replicant others
You place the bottle on the shelf
Golden rays of filtered immunity
Detoxify phantom limbs of all lovers
Receding panic
yellow lights
Peppermint memories
Nature chemicals
Structure and company never felt so cheeky, yet clean
Catalytic Fatalist
Opiation Sisters
Run way with dopamine mistresses
twilight looms forward;
rose veils don’t seem to sharpen truth anymore
Just don’t take off your glasses
You’re just another shell
Dwell within company’s hell
Gotta make sure someone breaks your fall
Self reliant fantasies
Green with envy orgies
Ones with rhythmic blood
Prevented from recall
You’re just another shade
Blur of schizo type hate
Enemies rally for
first place possession
Steele like mentality
“Everyone’s just fucking with me”
Won’t care away endorphin absolution
The curtain’s torn open
Reveal every hidden stranger
You could have sworn
they were laughing with you
Those eyes that feed you
Sweet kaleidoscope nectar
Ward off illumination from logic salvation
Mothers of the others
perfect degree of curves
Heaven sent orgasms
That succubi masqueraded phoenix innocence
And proposition obtuse excuse
To avoid and accuse
Coz as long as your under covers with needle thighs and whispering eyes
Your reflection can’t complicate
Apathetic cysts in your skin
Every vice is a sin
You were meant to win
And declare from the mountains
Echoes even twist genuine undecayed intention
What you prevent for a second glimpse of cure
Is locked away like secrets
Twice darker in the light
Reminder’s escaping
Submission on her knees
To suck off Addiction
You deserve to be pleased
Break her jaw to starve her
Of information acting free
False promises keep her leash short
taut, to you -
temporary concubine obsession
Motions defiant in spite
She mirrors all the way
Head first into your arctic recession
Until she trips from petty play
Still, Resisting all compulsion to flee
Her shell shock demeanor resurfaces
As you place her in microscopic cages
You
Beacon of Light
A sincere request
you threw away the keys
With a smile of comprehension
You simply react with heart felt lies
You, in perpetuate statistic,
rearrange all puzzle pieces
Won’t deceive the minds’ eye
The company involved excavating the ruins
Knows somewhere dying parallels
Converge influence on chaos
Like a supernova orphan
You manifest the day
Encouragement becomes Hypocrite
Acknowledgment is Prophecy
Existential surrender plays upon your mortality wheel
“Every body’s fucked but,
Everyone is so real”
Convenient you found her in a state of more disrepair
Souls in her eyes stare combative contagion;
admonishes your pride like the poison of sixteen
She knew
Never demanding
your jade mask be at once removed
In spite of all other things
This one was pristine
You offer no condolences for the suffering you emanate
Conversion
Assimilation
Replication
Isolation
Every day is exactly the same
No one truly knows yet only you have forgotten
“What place have I to care beyond myself..
mother’s instinctively feed their young, could they not provide for themselves, therefore?”
Pluto became a planet again
You shot off for the UV stars
How many scars leave a trail never mattered till they’re yours
One abandoned
bugged
and rewired
Still you can’t see past the habits
Traumatically
Subconsciously
Metronome with your form
It’s impossible you’ve now since realized control was never truth
Coy methods presume
They’ll perceive you whole
Always true
Lack of attention to the devil in the details
Stunned you slack jawed; dizzy
Moments that she recites historical accuracy
So then was she…
A spectre voyeur haunts you
That’s not an entire fact
Still, you’ll avalanche down
To the shadows on the fence
Replaced from reality
Would you conceive then,
You are the same calamity
As all the maelstroms of yore
Mutated cells fated to pretend
You are the same before metamorphosis
Besides..
Everyone should beg down on their knees
You are the one true god
And you’ll always do as you please

Gas Light
They said it’s just a game
Who can stay most sane
They want to play again
No one knows when rules change
Moonlight offers little cover
In the spotlight of this hell
Welcomed to the side of others
This is where we fell
Frequency voices echo loud
UV stars dot the ground
Crowd control for only two
What becomes of us when they are through?
Moonlight offers little cover
In the spotlight of hell
Welcomed to the side of others
This is where we fell
Descent in chaos’ catastrophe
Couldn’t be anywhere else but inside me
Never trust their eyes - only what you see
Gas light alters reality
(Repeat)
Do they want us in chains?
Do they want us to take the blame?
When all is said and done
what did they gain?
Will they come again?

"Monachopsis"
“Monachopsis”
Their faces are on fire
Their faces pitch black
I strain to see their features
That’s exactly what they lack
Their bodies torment me
With fluid movements
This realm of red and hate
I can’t help but contemplate
Do I belong here
Do I share the same fate
They loom before me
Enticing tragedy
Whispers silently
Entrance me further
With violent fury
And lustful fervor
They keep beckoning me
To dig in deeper
I sever all my ties
I’m now their keeper

"Mission Status: Failure"
“Mission Status: Failure”
All I see are lights flashing in an ocean of black
If you wish, think of me now but I can’t come back
I’m lost and
I don’t remember what it cost me
Drifting, floating, seemingly free
How I got here remains to be seen
The endless void surrounds me
I only hope you forget me soon
It was a mission to be redeemed
Instead, I lie in chaos and pray for doom
All I see are lights flashing in an ocean of black
If you wish, think of me now but I can’t come back
I’m lost and
I don’t remember what it cost me
Drifting, floating, seemingly free
How I got here remains to be seen
Lack of entropy suspends me in this current state
Yet, where I am, fills all of space
Perhaps I do deserve this fate
No one can save me, its far too late
I can’t wait to die tonight
I can’t wait to die tonight
To embrace the white, embrace the white
Look for me in the past to see my life
I outlast the others
I slowly waste away
What cruel jokes the gods play
must I live another day?
I can’t wait to die tonight
I can’t wait to die tonight
Maybe I’m to blame
I couldn’t see through the flames
Every second their screams repeat
I admit defeat
I admit defeat
Maybe I’m to blame
I couldn’t see through the flames
Every second their screams repeat
I admit defeat
I admit defeat

Akeldama Masomphenya with DMJ (he’s ready to shave that beard… and I’m going to help…!)
He looks sad, and he’s been through a lot, both self inflicted and external bullshit (both of us, really, more than we should have put up with;) we’ve also seen a lot of people’s true colours.. but things can only get better when you’re at rock bottom, right? I can only advise and encourage. Actions are his to make. The same goes for me. Positivity is difficult to strive for and achieve but it’s always worth it in the end, no matter the end.
