Scent gland coverings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Albeit with difference in intensity, both genders are required to somewhat control and manage their scents. Alpha has the most intense ones so it is natural that they supress their scents to not overwhelm others. Furthermore, the most important scent glands are placed in vulnerable spaces and their purpose is designed to attract potential mates, thus giving it a special reputation. Omegas who have the most sensitive and reactive scent glands are often put in position where (when unmated*) they need to cover their glands as to not be overwhelmed by external stimuli. This resulted in an branched out fashion for those personal spaces and an etiquette for it. Often times the omega child will inherit the coverings from their omegan parent
Wrist coverings
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unmated omegas who are not mature yet or didn't enter courting age yet most commonly wear simple full covering bracelets, with minimal number of accesorisation. It is modest and usable for long time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they will reach mature age, those bracelets will get more detailed and eyecatchy as a way to attract potential partner. The limit there is your own imagination
Neck coverings*²
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similiarly to bracelets, they are modest in look and focus more on usability than beauty. They cover most of the mating gland, partly because of anatomy but also because there could always be malicious alphas who can take advantage of this weakness and mate them without consent. Because of this, all covering for omegas are made from metal as to make it difficult for them to chomp down on it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mature omegas who are courting will wear more extravagant ones, not to sound like a broken record, regardless if they bought it themself or got them from the courter. Omegas often try to match the style of the bracelets and necklaces with other jewelry.
Alpha coverings*³
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alphas often use wrist guards who are sturdy and firm in shape. For most of the time, they can be a good cushioning when delivering a knuckle sadwich and have good joint support. They are not made to be a main show, but to complement and support the look.
*The unmated omegas are the only ones that wear neck covering because when they find a mate, their scent glands focuses on their mate instead of everyone around them, making it easier for them.
*² I do not refer to them as collars because of personal preference. The word in my opinion makes it feel like omega is not a human but a pet that has to be kept on a leash, which i don't approve of. Because of this i wanted to keep it as neutral as possible. Regardless, you don't have to agree with me or chuck the word out your vocabulary, at the end of the day it is all a fiction and we are all here to have fun with it :)
*³ Alphas do not have any serious reasons to wear those at all. I have a little fantasy that back in the ancient days, there was a filthy rich husband who loved his wife so much that back in courting phase he started wearing proudly those guards as a show of solidarity to omegas and accidentaly started a worldwide trend.

I'm really fascinated by your ABO Worldbuilding: Different Types of Social Structures series, do you think you'll be able to finish it?
I hope to! I've just recently logged back into this account after a long hiatus so it's been on the backburner for a long time, but now that I know people are interested, I'll definitely try and finish it!

Can omegas play in major/national sports leagues? or would it only be alphas and betas that can play?
Absolutely omegas could play! The question is how leagues would be broken up, because having six leagues would be untenable.
What makes the most sense for me in my verse would be to have two leagues, one for sires (alphas/beta males) and one for dames (omegas/beta females). Team sports would just have the two leagues, though teams might be required to have a certain ratio of omega male: omega female: beta female/alpha male: alpha female: beta male players.
Within individual sports like wrestling, boxing, weightlifting, etc. there might be a breakdown of genders into their own categories, or perhaps just by weight. It depends on how much strength variation exists between the genders in your verse. Some individual sports may also be more seperated than their real counterparts; swimming, for example, might be broken down into more categories.
Sorry for taking forever to answer your question!

Dynamics and their respective Sounds
Omegas
Purring - continuous vibrating sound coming from their throat, that appears when Omega is totally content and at ease. They also may purr when nursing their children or trying to self-soothe.
Thrill - is a prolonged ,,Traaawrr" sound that omegas use to happily greet you or signal that they are currently content and don't need anything. For example when omega wakes up and hear/sees someone nearby then they can thrill to say they are awake and happy at the moment. It can also appear in public when they see a friend and want to communicate that they are here and excited to see them.
Mrrp - similarly to thrill it is a happy sound, but different in use. For example when you are talking to omega , they may make this sound to indicate they are listening and paying attention. It can also be used when you initiated unexpected psychical contact that they like , such as a hug from behind :)
Grunt - a quick ,,ghrht" sound that tells that omega is annoyed or displeased. In special situation when omega sniffs someone and then grunts it can mean that they find the person's scent unappealing.
Whining - it is exprecion of distress and pain. Omegas will whine when they are hurt and want attention from their close ones. It is equivalent to ,, I'm hurt , somebody please help me!!"
Hiss - A strong ,prolonged ,,hhhssss" sound that is used as a detterent when omega is in danger. It is the same as saying ,,Don't come any closer or you will regret it!"
Growl - Used as a last warning before strike. Omegas use it when they are feeling like their life is endangered. It is a sign of pure fear and distress. It can also be heard when omega is in heat in an unfamiliar surrounding and someone they don't approve of aproaches. It can be roughly traslated as ,, Try me bitch , I will fight you if you take a step closer". Leave them be when that happens.
Alphas
Chuff - a friendly greeting between friends , it means that alpha sees you as a part of their inner circle. They will not chuff at their superiors or strangers so treat it as acompliment :)
Purr - More rumbling version of omegan purr but holding similiar value. Alphas purr when they are content and in good mood. A great way to say ,, everything is at its place, my family is happy so im happy too"
Whine - a sound of frustration or rejection, alphas use it when they feel dejected or frustrated because of something. Can also be a sound of pain.
Growl - continuous ,,Grrrrr" sound that can be used as a call for submission of lesser ranking dynamics or a sign of agression when something that belongs to them is threatened. Can be interpreted as ,, You dare oppose me!?".
Chirp - a quick ,,wheaow" sound that alphas use exlusively for their mates. It is a sort of cutesy way of saying ,, Hey! please pay attention to me !" can be used as a excited greeting as well ( also only for their mates)
Betas :
Purr - Deeper version of omegan purr and smoother version of alphas purr. It appears when beta is at ease and content or when they want to deescalate a situation.
Growl - a sign of agression and distress.Betas will use when threatened and want their opponent to back off. Some betas try to roughen up their growl as a imitation of alphas growl. A way to say ,,back off!"
Mrrr - a sound used as an intication that they are aware of your presence and want you to proceed. It is equivalent of polite ,,what" or ,,im listening , go on".

Alphas having the strength but Betas having the endurance is such a concept to me. Strong and cocky Alphas assuming they could best Betas in any physical competitions and getting their ego torn when a Beta mops the floor with them in a race
From young some more narrow minded sport loving parents might immediately try to get their Alpha pup/pups into wrestling or boxing while Betas pups get pushed into track and field or cross country

Had to get this idea out there. How would omega collars work? I see them in so many fics and I’ve always pictured dog/cat collars but that wouldn’t work! Hannah Adams ticktock put this idea in my head today and wow it’s been on my mind constantly!

What are some omegaverse slurs/ curse words
!!!Fair warning!!! The content below may be offensive to some people. Things will get brutal over here, so caution is advised
Towards Alphas:
Knothead- Regarding an Alpha that displays overly confident and douchey behaviour on the sole basis that they have the right because “they are an Alpha”; someone that only thinks with their knot.
ex: Ann was such a nasty knothead. You were right to break up with her. She didn’t deserve you.
Heatstall- Slur designed to demean an Alpha sexually. It implies that the Alpha is so bad in the bedroom that they can even stop an Omega’s heat with their poor attempts.
ex: Scaring away more Omegas, you pathetic heatstall?
Runt- Designed to demean an Alpha’s strenght and position in the pack. It’s the same as calling them weak, a pack reject or incapable.
ex: What can you and your runt little ass do about it?
Lose-tie- Designed to demean an Alpha sexually. It implies that their knot is not strong enough to keep a mate attached to them. Can also be used to demean impotent/old Alphas or Alphas who were cheated on or left by their mates.
ex: Did you hear that Brad’s mate ran away with Mark from the marketing department because he was a total lose-tie? Yikes…
Knotless- Designed to demean an Alpha sexually and socially. Can be used to say that the person in question is not a “real Alpha” in accordance to the mainstream understanding of what an Alpha is and is not, but can also be used to call an Alpha a scaredy cat or a coward.
ex: Stop being such a knotless little bitch and get in the abandoned house!
Breeder- Used by Betas to shame an Alpha sexually, socially and morally; Used by radical groups that think of Ruts as nothing but behavioural perversions and a catalyst for the regression of society into an uncivilized and “unevolved” state .
ex: Our daughter will not date a filthy breeder like you!
Cat-pole- Designed to demean Alpha females sexually and socially. It’s a way to mock a female Alpha’s “retractable anatomy” which evokes thoughts of a cat’s claws; also doubles as being an offensive more “subtle” replacement for “pussy-dick”.
ex: Fucking Cat-Pole got between me and an Omega I had my eyes on at the bar.
Towards Omegas:
Puppymill- Primarily used in the 19thcentury to define Omega prostitutes or brothel madams that would have children and then exploit them (normally sexually) for personal profit. In recent times it’s used to demean an Omega’s status and humanity; Existing for the sole purpose of having pups.
ex: Take your head off the clouds, Omega. You are nothing but a puppymill!
Bitch- No need to comment on this one. However, I do think that it’s much harsher when directed to an Omega in an offensive context, given that this is a direct parallel to female dogs in heat.
Knot-hole- Same principal of Puppymill, but instead of pups, it’s used to lower the Omega to a status of sex toy; Good only for fucking.
Breeder- Used by Betas to shame an Omega sexually, socially and morally; Used by radical groups that think of Heats as nothing but behavioural perversions and a catalyst for the regression of society into an uncivilized and “unevolved” state
ex: Omegas are nothing but corrupted Breeders without any decency.
Puppy-Pooper- Directed at Omega males. Designed to demean them both sexually and socially. Used by people that believe that Omega males shouldn’t have or aren’t as good as Omega and Beta females when it comes to having children due to their anatomy.
ex: Omega males make me sick. Filthy puppy-poopers should have never existed.
Pederast- Very old term, rarely used by younger people. Designed to demean Omega males on the basis of their anatomy; derived from radical beliefs that Omega males are a mistake of nature and should be admonished.
ex: Omega males. Nothing but pederast breeders who run on sexual instinct alone to compensate for their defective nature.
Knotbreaker- Directed at domineering Omegas; Used to describe a bitchy or stuck-up Omega who likes to be abusive and nagging towards Alphas.
ex: Nah, man. I’d never court Jenna. She’s a real Knotbreaker.
Switch Heater - (lol sorry for this shitty pun) Used to describe an Omega who likes bothAlphas and Omegas.
ex: I heard Alan passed his last heat with another Omega from school this time. Seems like he’s a switch heater…
Knot tease - Pretty much the same as a cock teaser.
ex: He was a real knot tease. I wish I hadgot his number.
Knot-dropper- Used to demean an Omega (and sometimes Beta) sexually; used to describe someone who was fucked so many times that they can’t even hold a knot inside anymore; Comparable to Slut or Whore.
ex: Stop that, Mark. We all know that you’ve already got yourself the tittle of knot-dropper throughout the wholecampus.
Towards Betas:
Stump- Designed to demean Beta males sexually; Used to say that Beta males don’t have as much of a “weapon” as Alphas have when it comes to size; Usually used by Knotheads and trashy Omegas.
ex: Really Cindy? You turned down my courtship advances to go out with beta stump over there?
Knotless- When directed towards Betas it take on a sexually demeaning connotation on the basis of a Beta’s anatomy.
ex: Knotless trash has no right to speak here, kid!
Knotcorker- (Br.E) Used mainly towards Beta females, but can be used towards Beta males who are attracted to Alphas; designed to demean a Beta sexually on the basis of their anatomy and the belief that Alphas and Betas should not mate with one another; implies that Betas were not made to take a knot because their bodies is not “designed” to do so. Used mainly by radical people who look down on Betas and non-traditional unions.
ex: Me? Date a Beta such as yourself? Is that a joke? Scram, knotcorker.
Crummy- (Mainly Br.E) Used by Omegas (and sometimes Alphas, but mainly Omegas) to demean Beta females; implies that their wombs are not as good or not as “tended to” as an Omega’s because they are a Beta; A womb left to crumbs.
ex: Really, Alex? You really think that Sarah would take your crummy ass over me? What a joke.
Knot Block(er) - (A.E) Same connotation of Knotcorker.
ex: Are you nuts? Why would I waste my time courting a knot block?
Beta tester - Designed to demean a Beta both sexually and socially; It’s used to talk down to a Beta; implies that their relationship with an Alpha/Omega is nothing but a test run for the “real deal”; That a Beta could never actually prosper in a relationship with anyone other than another Beta, because their mates would crave for something more than a “Beta tester”.
ex: Why don’t you just give up now? You and I know that you are nothing but a Beta tester. Just let me take her out of your hands so she can be taken care of the proper way.
Not necessarily Dynamics specific:
Glandless- Referring to a person without tact; someone that cannot pick up on the olfactory cues in the environment they are currently in.
ex: Dude don’t be such a glandless idiot! Can’t you see that she’s in pain?
Knotlicker - Pretty much the same as slut or whore; can also be used to describe someone who’s a bootlicker to Alphas, expecting some sort of gratification or reward in return.
ex: Wow, could you be more of a knotlicker?
Knotsucker- Same as cocksucker.
Low-tail(ed)and Neck stretcher- An overly passive person, who never fights back and can even let themselves be abused by strangers or members of their own pack; The person ranking lowest in the pack hierarchy; Someone who’s too afraid to fight back any sort of agression.
ex: Jesus, Martha. You’re such a pathetic low-tailed idiot.
Turd-Toddler,Turd-bred and Poop baby - Used to insult anyone who’s got an Omega male mother; Derived from the belief that Omega males are inherently filthy and should not have offspring.
ex: You have no moral qualms here. You’re a disgusting Turd-bred low-rated excuse of a human.
Knotshafter- Used to describe someone that takes a lot of knots.
ex: I think I never met a bigger Knotshafter than you, man. Are you positive you’re not positive? (lol shitty pun, sorry I’m half asleep as I write this).
Overbred- The same as Knot-dropper and Knotshafter.
Necktan(ned) - The same as Low-tail(ed).
ex: You’re in the couch again? Seriously, I don’t know how you don’t get a neck tan with the ammount of time you spend catering to your mate’s hissy fits.
lol sorry for all the bad puns and lack of creativity. It’s late and my brain is half fried. But I hope this satisfy you and anyone else who was wondering about ABO slurs and insults. It’s also worth noting that this is all according to my verse. So many of these will not work with every single verse. Feel free to take out or add on other words that will cater better to your own verse (or just disregard all of these altogether, idk). Anyway, if anyone feels like adding on to the list feel free to do so. Peace o/

ABO Worldbuilding: Different Types of Social Structures
aA cornerstone of the omegaverse trope is packs. Like the rest of the trope, packs are usually modelled after wolves. But I’ve been thinking recently; what if that wasn’t true everywhere in the world, and what would other pre-civilization social structures look like? In this four-part series, I will be outlining my ideas for four different social structures: Packs (modelled after wolves), Prides (modelled after lions), Pods (modelled after dolphins), and Clans (modelled after hyenas).
Part Two: Prides
Tumblr media
Part One: Packs, Links to the other parts will be placed here after they are published.
Prides
Prides can range from 3 to 40 members, with 15 being the average. Children in prides are called cubs. Prides are organized in a strict hierarchy, with the head alpha(s) at the top, omegas second, and beta females last. The head alpha eats first, then the omegas, then the cubs, and finally the beta females.
Prides are usually led by one head alpha, but sometimes they will have two. They never have three or more head alphas. The main job of the head alpha(s) is to protect the pride’s territory through patrols and to protect the omegas, beta females, and cubs in their pride from danger. They mark their territory with their scent, and if an alpha or beta male were to enter it, they would kill them. Any omegas or beta females who enter would be absorbed into the pride, but this very rarely happens, as omegas and beta females never leave the pride they were born in. It only really occurs if they wander in accidentally while hunting.
Omegas are the most powerful group after the head alpha(s). Omegas and beta females are in charge of hunting for the pack, creating clothes, and having and raising cubs. The omega with the oldest omega cub has the most control after the head alpha, and power descends in age order of omega cubs after them. Cubs are raised communally, with mothers helping each other with watching the cubs in order to more effectively distribute tasks. All omegas in a pride are the claimed mates of the head alpha, and all children in the pride are fathered by the head alpha. This is why there are rarely more than one head alpha in a pack, as most alphas do not want to share their omegas.
Beta females are the least powerful group in a pride. They never have intercourse with the head alpha, and therefore never have children. Because of this, they are seen as the most expendable members of a pride, and are therefore given more dangerous tasks and expected to do more work. Despite being treated badly, beta females never leave, because they know there is nowhere they can go where another pride or lone alpha wouldn’t just take them and treat them exactly the same or worse.
Because prides are run mainly by omegas and beta females, with only one head alpha, prides have a very strange relationship with alpha cubs and beta male cubs. These cubs will grow up to leave the pride and try to find one of their own, making raising them an effort that does not benefit the pride very much. However, alpha cubs are still seen as valuable because of the head alpha’s instinct to advance their bloodline. If another pride is run by one of their cubs, then all the cubs born in that pride will be their grandchildren. Therefore, raising their alpha cubs is in a head alpha’s best interest.
The same is not true for beta males. Alphas are stronger than beta males, meaning beta males have a very, very small chance of ever running their own pride. Because beta males cannot be trusted as manual members of a pride like beta females are, as they are capable of impregnating the omegas and beta females, they are therefore seen as useless, and are left to die at birth.
All cubs are raised by their mothers, and will learn valuable hunting and other survival skills from them. Omega and beta females will also be taught how to make clothes and food, while alpha cubs will be taught how to fight by their father.
Alphas will leave their birth pride between the ages of 14 and 18. When one alpha decides to leave their birth pride, all their alpha siblings 14 or older will go with them. If an alpha cub does not leave their pride by the time they turn 18, they will be forcibly removed by their father. After they leave, their father will see them as an active threat, and they will be killed if they try to return.
After leaving their pride, the group of alpha siblings will roam, avoiding prides as they learn to survive on their own and grow strong. Head alphas will not show them mercy if they catch them in their territory as they will see them as future threats, even if they are all still cubs. When they decide they are ready, alphas will leave their sibling group one by one to find new prides and head alphas to challenge, until there is no one left in the group.
Once they’ve left their sibling group, alphas will find a pride with a weaker head alpha and fight them to the death. To initiate a challenge, an alpha just needs to step into a head alpha’s territory. The second they are found by the head alpha, the fight will commence. Other members of the pride will not intervene, no matter which way the fight goes. If the challenger loses, their body will be left on the territory line as an example. If the challenger wins, they will carry the old head alpha’s corpse to the center of their territory, where all the pride members live, in order to show them who their new head alpha is. They will then kill all of the pride’s cubs, no matter their secondary gender. They do this in order to kickstart all the pride’s omegas’ heat cycles, as omegas’ cycles stop after they give birth until they either lose their cub or their cub completes puberty. Because this is culturally expected, omegas will direct their grief at the dead former head alpha instead of the new one, as they hold them responsible for not being able to protect the pride. The new head alpha will then sleep with and claim all the omegas in the pride in order to cement themselves in their new position.
If a pride has two head alphas, then the challenger will have to kill both of them. For this reason, prides with two alphas will usually be replaced by two alphas, but singular challengers still commonly risk it by attacking the current alphas singularly while they’re patrolling alone.
Some alphas, not wanting to risk losing a fight to a stronger alpha, never try to take over a pride. These alphas live nomadically, staying clear of prides’ territories in order to avoid fights with head alphas. Sometimes, a solitary alpha will find an abandoned beta male cub, and will raise it as if it was their own pup. Rare cubs who successfully ran away to avoid death when their fathers were killed by challengers also sometimes join these groups. Very rarely, these groups have gotten big enough that they try and invade a pride in order to steal beta females and/or omegas, but they are usually culled by said beta females and omegas and the head alpha.
Prides are generally found in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Hello, Anon!
Great question! Here's a um... quick little chart I made separated by secondary gender, sex, sperm, and egg and what percent chance they have of making a baby!

ABO Worldbuilding: Different Types of Social Structures
A cornerstone of the omegaverse trope is packs. Like the rest of the trope, packs are usually modelled after wolves. But I’ve been thinking recently; what if that wasn’t true everywhere in the world, and what would other pre-civilization social structures look like? In this four-part series, I will be outlining my ideas for four different social structures: Packs (modelled after wolves), Prides (modelled after lions), Pods (modelled after dolphins, and Clans (modelled after hyenas).
Part One: Packs
Tumblr media
Part Two: Prides, Links to the other parts will be placed here after they are published.
Note: in this post, all heats and ruts happen at the same time every three months. Pre-heats and pre-ruts last for four days, while heats and ruts last for three days. This 7 day period is referred to as “mating week.”
Packs
Packs can range from 2 to 30 members, with an average of 10. Children in packs are called pups.
Smaller packs have only one head alpha, but bigger ones are co-led by an alpha male and an alpha female. All other members of the pack are subordinate to the head alpha(s), even if they are alphas themselves. Here is a diagram of the pack structure:
Tumblr media
The chain of command goes Head Alpha(s), their Omega Mate(s), Subordinate Alphas, their Omega Mate, Beta Males, their Beta Female Mates, Unmated Alphas, Unmated Beta Males, and finally Unmated Omegas and Unmated Beta Females. Within each group, things like number of pups, favor of head alpha(s), fighting prowess, and past deeds determine an individual’s ranking. When it comes to the functioning of orders in the pack, they tend to be passed down as follows:
Head Alpha --> Subordinate Alpha --> Mated Beta Male --> Unmated Alphas --> Unmated Betas
Head Omega Mate --> Subordinate Omega Mate --> Mated Beta Female --> Unmated Omegas/Unmated Beta Females.
It is common for alphas to challenge a head alpha and overthrow them by killing them. Challengers very rarely come from outside the pack, and are usually supported by other pack members. When it comes to packs with two head alphas, both alphas have to be overthrown by new ones in order for there to be a complete power shift (ex. if the head female alpha is overthrown by a new one, the newcomer cannot simply replace the head male alpha with someone else or get rid of him entirely; he has to be overthrown as well. Until he is, he will rule with the new head alpha female).
If a head alpha dies without being overthrown, they will either be proceeded by their eldest alpha child (of their own primary sex if there are two head alphas) or an alpha they appointed before their death. If they had no alpha children and appointed no successor, then either a vote by all pack members or a competitive fight between all eligible alphas in the pack will determine who takes the vacant role.
Head alphas are the only alphas in the pack allowed to have more than one omega. When they are overthrown, the new alpha claims their omega(s). They will also commonly kill the alpha children of the old head alpha. If the alpha dies naturally, their omegas will be reclaimed by the successor (unless the omega in question is related to the successor or too old to have more pups), but no children will be killed.
Every other alpha in the pack is allowed one omega, and each beta male one beta female. Some larger packs allow alphas to mate with beta females and omegas to mate with beta males, and it is not entirely uncommon for the head alpha male to have a sexual relationship with the head alpha female, although they are both expected to procreate with their respective omega(s).
Pups eat first at meal times, then the head alpha(s), then the head alpha(s)’s mate(s), then each mated couple with children in order of pup age from youngest to oldest, then childless mated couples, and finally unmated members.
Generally, the alphas and beta males of a pack will hunt, do border patrol, fight, and build shelters, while the beta females and omegas will look after their pups, gather food through scourging, and make clothes and weapons. It is not impossible for a beta female or omega to be allowed to hunt if they prove themselves to be strong and capable, but it is rare.
Every mating week, packs that are allied will meet up with each other in large gatherings at pre-agreed upon locations. Unmated pack members will mingle with one another, and if they find someone they like, they will present them to their parents and head alpha(s). If the parents and head alpha(s) approve of the selected person, they will spend their rut and heat together (or just bang a few times if they’re betas) and mate. Afterwards, the beta female/omega will move to the pack of their new mate and start a family.
If a beta female or omega doesn’t want to move packs, they can mate within their pack. However, because most pups in a pack are raised almost completely communally, they develop sibling-like bonds, and therefore do not feel much attraction towards each other, making same-pack matings quite rare.
Packs claim territory, with their borders being marked by the head alpha(s) scent being rubbed on whatever is around. You need a pack’s permission to enter their territory, and if you don’t obtain it, entering will be perceived as a highly aggressive act. Alpha and beta males will be attacked on sight, often with intention to kill. Beta females and omegas will be detained and sometimes kept, and negotiations will have to happen with their pack in order for them to be returned. Having members of your pack trespass in another’s territory will always make your relationship with that pack worse, resulting in it being highly discouraged, and members who do it without their head alpha(s) opinion will usually be punished for it within their own pack. Wars are very commonly a result of territorial disputes.
Packs are generally found in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Packs were the most common social structure amongst primitive human groups.

ABO Worldbuilding: Menstruation in Alpha Females
Because animals that work on estrus cycles in the real world absorb their endometrium instead of shedding it like animals who work on a menstrual cycle, omegas do not menstruate in my verse. This makes alpha and beta females the only sexes that menstruate. Beta females’ cycles work identically to real-world menstrual cycles, while alpha females are slightly different.
There are many reasons that lead to alpha females having difficulty getting pregnant, and one of the main ones is the fact that they form thinner endometriums. The average alpha female’s endometrium is 4mm thick during ovulation, which is the average thickness of the endometrium during beta female menstruation, and less than 1mm thick during their own menstruation. A embryo needs an endometrium of 7mm to implant, and while it’s not impossible for an alpha female to naturally reach that thickness, most would need to take hormones.
Alpha females menstruate during their pre-ruts, which last 3-4 days. Most alpha females only experience bleeding on 1-2 of those days, and they rarely bleed much. On average, they only bleed enough to fill one maxipad and tampon, making periods more of an inconvenience than a challenge for them. It’s commonly joked that alpha females in pre-rut are more aggressive then their male counterparts because of their menstruation. Heavy blood-flow, painful cramps, and long-lasting periods are the main signs to look for as indicators of an alpha female’s ability to successfully get pregnant.
This has created a heavy culture of period shame amongst alpha females. Historically, alpha females tried to distance themselves as much as possible from their female reproductive system, as to distance themselves from omegas and beta females and align themselves with their male counterparts. The easiest way to do this was through their periods. If an alpha female didn’t bleed or didn’t bleed much, it was physical proof that she was incapable of getting pregnant, making her alpha reproductive system the only one that mattered. Alpha females who had harder periods made sure to hide it, and to this day alpha females feel pressure to hide their periods. While beta females also feel the need to keep them discreet, they have a sense of camaraderie that alpha females don’t. A beta female would feel little to no reluctance to ask another beta female for a pad or to complain about their cramps to them; an alpha female wouldn’t even think of asking another alpha female about anything menstrual-related, out of a fear of being judged for not having a sufficiently insignificant period.

Omegaverse Sounds
Omega
Keening: A wail-like call for something, usually a pack member or an item. If an Omega is not getting what they want or is upset, they will keen to get the attention of the nearest person in order to be soothed or be given what they desire. Basically shouting at others: “I’m upset!! Give me what I want! Comfort me!”
Hissing: A low “s” sound made if the Omega is provoked and thinks they or their pack are in an extremely dangerous situation. Hissing is a warning sound made to get others to back off or to alert others that they will attack if said provocation continues.
Trilling: Trilling is a high-pitched rolling “r” sound in the back of the throat that typically occurs in short intervals or once. Trilling is a way for an omega to get attention, in a soft and non-threatening way. For example, if an omega woke up and saw their partner in the kitchen, they could trill to say hello and alert their mate that they are there. Trilling in public areas indicates that the Omega wants others to follow them. As another example, an Omega may trill at their friends before running into their favorite store. The Omega is either saying “hello! I’m here and want you to know of my presence, but I don’t need anything at the moment!” or “I’m going this way! Follow me!”
Purring: Purring is a low, continuous vibratory sound made for a multitude of reasons. Omegas purr when they are content, relaxed, nursing their children, or are in a good mood. Omegas may also purr to self-soothe. If they are in an uncomfortable or stressful situation they may unconsciously start to purr to calm themselves.
Chirping: A quick, sharp high-pitched sound. Typically used towards pups or to express happiness. Mothers will chirp at their pups to send messages such as “come to Mom!” and “Mom is here!” Further, if an omega is happy, they will chirp to express their pleasure. For example, if an Omega’s mate makes them dinner, the Omega may chirp to indicate they like the meal.
Mewling: A whimper or high-pitched crying noise to express unhappiness. Omegas mewl when they are hungry or in pain, whether it be physical or mental.
Alpha
Rumbling: A continuous, deep sound. Rumbling is very diverse in how it can be used by Alphas. Most often, rumbling is used to self-soothe or express content and relaxation. Rumbling can also soothe others if they are uneasy.
Growling: Growling is a low, guttural noise made in the throat. Growling is used to show almost all displeasure an Alpha experiences. It can be used similarly to hissing for omegas, as a warning when they feel as though they or their pack is in danger. Alphas also growl when they are annoyed or angry. Last, Alphas may growl at their pup, mate, or pack member with a disciplinary tone to convey that they are not happy with that person.
Crooning: A soft, low continuous noise that sounds like a hum. Crooning is typically directed at younger pups or distressed people and is meant to come off as soothing and safe.
Chuffing: A puffing sound. It sounds like this. Used to greet pack members and friends. However, chuffing goes farther than that. Alphas will only chuff if they feel very comfortable with the people they are chuffing at. They will not even chuff in the presence of strangers. When they chuff, they are basically saying: “hello! You are my person/one of my people! I like you!”
Betas can make some of these noises. Which noises they can make varies from beta to beta. Some betas can growl and purr, but can’t rumble or keen. Etc.

Laws Relating to Heats/Ruts
Impairment
Because of the mental state heat/rut hormones cause, it is seen as akin to impairment under drugs or alcohol in the eyes of the law, meaning someone is legally impaired when they are in heat/rut. This makes it illegal to drive while in heat/rut, and also means an individual cannot consent while they are in one and can only consent beforehand. Because beforehand consent is almost always verbal, however, sexual assaulters will claim they got consent before the heat/rut started, and it is unfortunately commonly hard for the prosecution to prove them wrong.
Public Indecency
Because of the effect heat/rut pheromones and behaviour has on others, it is considered publicly indecent to be in heat/rut in public and is an arrestable offence. Leaving the scent of heat/rut in public is considered the same as being present in public while in heat/rut, even if you have left the area. This still applies for people who have their heat/rut at home but their scent escapes, leaving those with unsecured homes to use rut or heat hotels instead. Most judges will lightly punish or throw out the cases of those who were having their first or close to first heat/rut and had not figured out their cycle and symptoms yet, and those who has their schedule thrown off through medication (taken both consensually or non consensually) because of the reasonable mistakes those situations can cause.
