Many say “oh youre higher needs higher lv autism? you just communicate differently n that valid!!”
but, often see ppl often walk around or boil down to “if communicating At All then good”, what if cant? what if when Yom isnt thinking, communicating differently, or expressing At All?
unable to communicate doesnt equal less value. doesnt mean less human. often for self, we dont feel conscious. we often stare off or look at nothing and nothing at all in brain. lot of times we dont think, and other times think and daydream lots, but still no respond. lot of times cant even use own aac when needed most.
dunno how to describe for us, it just nothing
and not responding or doing anything at all doesnt equal ignoring you or “no”. often do want something but body does Nothing, so it assumed “no”.
For Yom, we often Are in our own world. perception of world so different. no less human. Not made for your world. Dont think or breathe same
still deserve love, even if not pleasing you. Been told many bad things because brain don’t communicate at all lot times. been assumed “bad person” because dont respond
This is all the time, not just selective mutism for I
everyone different, we are not fact for all. always ask when comfortable.
for us, it best to not force us to do anything, or keep asking “what wrong? what u want me to do?” when not responsive, cuz often can’t respond at all. it best to just make us feel safe n comfortable. so sick of ppl talking so much
[plz reblog]

🚨EMERGENCY! PLEASE READ!🚨
Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and baby Maria are set to make the dangerous journey from Gaza City in the north to Rafah in the south. From there, God willing, they will enter Egypt.
HOWEVER, the money they had allocated to procure shelter and food while in Egypt was utterly depleted by exploitative fees and hidden costs, which we break down in this post. Moataz speaks more on the situation in this post and on his own blog @moatazart, which we ask people to follow and boost. They have a fund going to raise the remaining money, but the fund only has a week and a half left before it closes! They are not even halfway to their goal!
Please share what you can with Moataz’s family so they can find safety and security in Egypt! They have no one in Egypt with whom they can stay and currently nowhere near enough money to secure shelter! After all they have survived, please don’t let this young family be left vulnerable! If they cannot procure food and shelter, they will be extremely vulnerable not only to the dangers of homelessness, but to groups and individuals who prey on refugees!
Safety for Gazan refugees does not end with leaving Gaza! If this campaign is not finished in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, they will be homeless in Egypt! They are so close to a fresh start, please don’t let all the risks they are taking to find safety be for nothing!

I’ve seen Palestinians refer to their homeland as Occupied Palestine and “Israel” as the occupation, to better illustrate the settler colonial history of “Israel” and deny it legitimacy. As “America” is also a settler colony, would it be accurate to refer to the so-called “USA” in general as Occupied Turtle Island/the American Occupation or is that terminology specific to Palestine?
Turtle Island is the name given to North America by the Anishinaabe, though it's certainly not the only indigenous name. The Anishinaabe/Ojibwe/Chippewa just happen to be one of the largest native group so a lot of our terms are more easily popularized.
Tumblr media
And I'd say yes and no as for it's accuracy tbh.
Like with Palestine, you have to be Very Clear when differentiating the people of Turtle Island and our wants from the US government and the people who support the US government.
You can't support Palestinian liberation and the existence of the state colonizing them. In the same way you can't claim to support Native liberation and Turtle Island but still want to remain our colonizer.
It's one thing to say you support native sovereignty, it's another entirely to realize that support in practice would mean calling & working for the US to be dismantled; it means Choosing to be a person from Turtle Island instead.
So yes, call it Turtle Island, but say it with the understanding and gravity of it.
Start by learning 5 medicinal plants and 5 edible plants in your area, figure out how you can support local tribes. Learn how to be from Turtle Island instead of the USA. Find values and principles to believe in that are your own and not just moralized propaganda.
The less dependent you are on the US, the less freedom you realize you have within it.

Is it true that many early zionists were intellectuals? Or is it just Zionist propaganda? I know kafka wasn't a zionist despite flirting with the idea and Zionists have been trying to reclaim him in some way
a lot of early zionist leaders (like herzl) were from the same assimilated middle and upper class austro-hungarian and german background as a lot of other well known european jewish intellectuals, so some of them were intellectuals but that doesnt really mean anything. there were also a lot of conservative intellectuals in europe at the time. if youre asking whether well known jewish intellectuals like kafka were zionists: a few of them were somewhat interested in zionism as a spiritual or ideological movement. as zionism started to become a political reality through early settlements in palestine and collaboration with colonial governments many more became critical of it and rejected it. some were against it from the start. to be clear there were zionist intellectuals and writers (gershom sholem and martin buber for example) but it was not remotely a consensus among european jews, and (not all but) a lot these zionist intellectuals had beliefs more similar to calls for a binational state than what zionists today believe. and yes kafka specifically was not a zionist, despite some of his zionist friends trying to convince him of it
heres some of my posts about this, and also judith butler wrote an article about kafka

"I didn't know my government could do this" is a wild statement to me not only because I've grown up being aware of many war crimes and genocides done by the USA and other such countries, but that information is really not that hard to find. People complain about their education system a lot but there are thousands of books, documentaries, essays, articles- hell, even videos -about the numerous atrocities committed by the USAmerican government that they should be looking for. The main thing people tell others to do is educate themselves. I'm just.

From the Freedom Flotilla, April 27 2024:
On Thursday afternoon, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition was contacted by the Guinea Bissau International Ships Registry (GBISR), requesting an inspection of our lead ship – Akdenez. This was a highly unusual request as our ship had already passed all required inspections; nevertheless, we agreed. The inspector arrived on Thursday evening. On Friday afternoon, before the inspection was completed, the GBISR, in a blatantly political move, informed the Freedom Flotilla Coalition that it had withdrawn the Guinea Bissau flag from two of the Freedom Flotilla’s ships, one of which is our cargo ship, already loaded with over 5000 tons of life-saving aid for the Palestinians of Gaza. In its communication informing us of this cancelation, the GBISR made specific reference to our planned mission to Gaza. It also made several extraordinary requests for information, including confirmation of the ships’ destination, any potential additional port calls, and the discharge port for humanitarian aid and estimated arrival dates and times. It further demanded a formal letter explicitly approving the transportation of humanitarian aid and a complete manifest of the cargo. Again, this is a highly unusual move from a flagging authority. Normally, national flagging authorities concern themselves only with safety and related standards on vessels bearing their flag, and are not concerned with the destination, route, cargo manifests or the nature of a specific voyage. Just like when you register your car, the authorities don’t require you to detail to them every place you are going to go with the car. Sadly, Guinea-Bissau has allowed itself to become complicit in Israel’s deliberate starvation, illegal siege and genocide of Palestinians in Gaza. Israel is showing the world the extent to which it will go to deny Palestinians the aid they need to stay alive, in direct contravention of International Humanitarian Law, UN Security Council resolutions, and two orders of the International Court of Justice. [...] without a flag, we cannot sail. But, this is not the end. Israel cannot and will not crush our resolve to break its illegal siege and reach the people of Gaza. The people of Gaza and all of Palestine remain steadfast under the most horrific, unimaginable conditions. We take strength from their incredible, inexplicable ability to maintain their humanity, dignity and hope when the world has given them no reason to do so. It is our responsibility to keep that hope alive. WE WILL SAIL.
The Freedom Flotilla, which was set to depart from Turkey on the 27th of April with 5000 tons of life-saving aid, has now been delayed because Israel and the United States has pressured Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from the Flotilla's lead ship.
Seeing as how their tactics worked on Guinea Bissau, organizers now fear that Israel and the US will exert the same pressure on whichever country the Freedom Flotilla attempt to register their ship under next.
To help the Freedom Flotilla reach Gaza, please keep an eye out for further updates from the organizers. Right now, as of April 27th, they're asking people to help boost their visibility, and to donate to their member campaigns.
For more info, see their webpage.
