Genuinely I have no idea how to read the long close-up shot of Logan following Morph's "I love you"--specifically the focus on him breathing.

Can he smell Morph, which means he knows the I love you came from them and not actually Jean?

Or can he not smell Morph due to the oxygen mask, meaning he thinks Jean is the one who said I love you?

Or are the writers just going to ignore it and the I love you will never be brought up again?

Also not to get into the symbolism of things but the fact that the waters explicitly represent the pain Magneto is drowning in and the vision of his kids appears on a lifeboat - as salvation - but at the same time they're also out on the waves, they're also subject to those waters. It's about the intergenerational trauma.

And so is Rogue, in ep. 5 she literally used the same metaphor: "But then I started seeing the hurt in him, like raging waters. There wasn’t enough room in our affair for his demons and mine."
