thoughts on how the Liyue Archon quest went [9]

LAST ONE I SWEAR.

i feel like the Rite of Parting takes place a day or something after the Northland Bank confrontation, but again i'm too lazy to check. either way, Lumi and Kaeya ARE still kinda injured from the whole fight w/ Childe, so they DO have to rest at least for like a day??? idr the timeline in the actual game, but i. Do. what i. want. these scars are prolly gonna last, too,,,,

the rest of this is just my personal h/c of the Rite of Parting. specifically the bit where Keqing asks Lumi what they can do in thanks, and Lumi's like 'how about some missing persons posters?'

and this time i feel like it's fine if they do just do missing persons posters here. like genuinely Lumi's like 'well, so far i've got the companions i need, so there's no biggie', but even then Ningguang and Keqing prolly have eyes all over the place looking for her brother. but still, Lumi strolling up after saving the harbor from an ancient god and just being like 'how abt helping me put up posters' is just so FUCKING FUNNY???? LIKE GIRL,,,

anyway i think it's the literal coolest, literally the silliest goofiest thing. meanwhile Kaeya's like 'well dw i can at least utilize ur hero status to do my job as an envoy', which he does.

the conversation with Zhongli is a little less tense, since time has passed since their confrontation w/ him and Signora in the Golden House (and also b/c neither Harbinger is there at the moment, fyi).

i feel like Lumi is a little more open to hearing his side of things and how he explains things, and Kaeya's mostly just wary of Zhongli (but still empathetic b/c man, this guys been alive for an unfathomably large amt of time). i like to think that the conversation starts out pretty tense, but then they get to the topic of Mora and Lumi and Kaeya are once again amused by Zhongli's complete and utter Mora blindness. Kaeya's a little concerned abt the whole 'no more Mora' thing, until Lumi points out that the Leylines blossoms kinda give up Mora so maybe it'll be fine.

also i feel like Zhongli probably tries and gets them to go rest after a little while, b/c again,,, they're still a bit injured,,, and he is Concerned(tm),,,

(side not: speaking of Leyline blossoms, i genuinely have a thought abt this. b/c Mora is both money and a catalyst, so when u use it to upgrade things, i feel like it's just put into the Leylines and u can just obtain it that way??? but idk how much stock ppl might put into that)

anyway, this is the end of my h/c's for the Liyue Archon quest, but trust me when i say that the Adventuring Rambles are silly :)c

also Inazuma IS next, but,,, again,,, curse that damn place,,,, (no offense to Inazuma lovers)

so Lumi and Paimon go to inspect the Sigil stuff, while Kaeya meets up w/ Zhongli and essentially just chats w/ him while they wait for Lumi, right? i feel like Zhongli, at this point, totally sees this as an opportunity to learn more abt them, since Kaeya's a primary source. definitely feels like he'd make a comment about Kaeya's pupil being a unique shape—but i also feel like this would put Kaeya on edge, b/c i feel like Kaeya,,, knows? like he probably knows the Archons destroyed Khaenri'ah, and since Zhongli's very clearly the Geo Archon (and also once a War God), it probably puts him on edge a bit? Very much like 'ur not gonna kill me if u find out i'm Khaenriahn, riiiiight?'

and then when Zhongli notices him dodging the question, he probably just pivots to asking abt traveling w/ Lumine and Paimon b/c he recognizes that yeah, Kaeya probably knows. idk, i think abt this conversation a lot, b/c it's essentially just the unspoken acknowledgement between both of them that Kaeya knows who Zhongli is, and Zhongli knows who Kaeya is. it's just interesting to me.

and then Lumi shows up and they're both kinda relieved b/c MAN was it getting a lil bit awkward haha—and then Zhongli hears abt the Sigils getting reproduced by the Fatui (this is like the ONLY thing i remember from the Sigil bit ngl) so he's like 'mmm be on your guard around them.' i personally think this is when he kinda starts developing a desire to protect these people, which is,,, incredibly precious.

it only gets better when Lumi has to sing to the Glaze Lilies??? b/c listen, guys, LISTEN ok, i feel like Lumi is a decent singer. like she's not Pro(tm) but she's definitely a lil above average yk??? anyway i like to imagine Lumi singing to the Whopperflowers and for like the brief moment of her doing it, both Kaeya and Zhongli are like 'oh,,,,,' b/c who doesn't love a pretty song????

anyway the whopperflowers are assholes and interrupt the very cute moment, and then Ganyu shows up as a one-two whammy :( but it's fine b/c Glaze Lilies and also Zhongli warns Lumi and Kaeya abt the wear and tear of working. i love it a lot b/c Zhongli's whole thing is trying to relax, and it just feels like he already sees these scars growing on these two and he wants them to not earn any more.

unfortunately, upon their return and everything coming to a head, Lumine's like 'well we can't just stand by and do nothing'. i really love how Zhongli warns her to think this through and to be careful. i just think it's so bbgrl of him guys please.

pretty sure that from here, it's just the Golden House fight. that fight actually does leave scars on Lumi's leg and Kaeya's arms (b/c he blocked a nasty sword slash at some point), but generally the fight is over and done w/ pretty quickly (b/c Lumi a tough bbgrl and Kaeya's got her back <3)

They barely have time to like, bandage their wounds before they have to go and help the Qixing, and then they have to deal with THAT WHOLE DEBAUCLE. genuinely, that entire thing was just Lumi being a badass ok. i literally would do anything for her (and so would Kaeya b/c he was also incredibly awe-inspired by how much bad bitch energy she exuded in helping w/ the fight).

and then her being a mediator??? and then her being so wise and smart??? guys please let me gush abt her more i love her so fuckin much GUYSSSSSSS

which is why it sucks that Lumi and Kaeya have to see Signora again after Signora kinda traumatized Lumi a lil bit (yknow, attacking Venti outta the blue, sending Paimon flying away, knocking Lumi out, etc). personally feel like Lumi and Kaeya are a little wounded to see Zhongli just,,, willingly offering his Gnosis up to her??? when he explains it, it kinda makes sense, but also Lumi just,,, very much feels Danger from being around Signora, so she's still tense and wary.

it doesn't help that Zhongli couldn't tell her what the Tsaritsa promised him in return for his Gnosis. b/c that kinda just left a sour taste in Lumi's mouth for a bit.

the quest for the Cocogoat is 10/10, can i just say.

like it's literally just Qiqi: Cocogoat please Zhongli, who has never ever heard of a Cocogoat in his entire existence in Liyue: checks out, let's go.

when they fix up the Guizhong Ballista, the more Zhongli yaps the more Kaeya's like "oh, maybe i was wrong", but it's with the "we should focus on Qiqi's contract" that makes Kaeya go "oh, no, i was wrong. he IS the Geo Archon. whack."

also Lumi being a total Mom and having to sit w/ Qiqi and explain that coconut milk comes from coconuts and not a Cocogoat adepti beast??? 10/10. i love her sm, please

also??? Zhongli treating????

Zhongli: i've decided to treat you to a meal. Lumi: Zhongli. Treating. Kaeya: like paying for food. for us. and not the other way around. Zhongli: i won't forget the Mora this time.

i feel like at this point, Zhongli is kind of curious abt the Traveler Trio b/c he's a lil more focused. especially b/c, like, y'know, one of them is a Khaenriahn and the other two definitely aren't human.

obviously tho, he can't glean too much b/c, y'know, they're there to relax and then Ganyu shows up and askes the Trio to head to the Jade Chamber, and Zhongli's like "oh okay."

also speaking of the Jade Chamber, favorite bit has to be how Ganyu just,,, forgor to tell them how to get there. also, b/c of Keqing's spiel about the time of the Adepti passing, i kinda feel like Lumi and Kaeya kinda figure out like "oh, is that why he's stepping down?" and them being confused why he didn't just,,, step down.

current h/c for the Jade Chamber thing tho is Kaeya kind of nudging Paimon towards a very specific antique box from the Jeweler's b/c he's like 'I doubt the snacks will do shit, but this antique might be a different story'. also he and Lumi are incredibly impressed by Ningguang's reach in Liyue; very much a moment of "wowwwww, lotsa power u got there" meanwhile Paimon's freaking out b/c "OH U CAN JUST,,, KNOW THINGS"

and speaking of knowing things, Lumi and Kaeya figured that, w/ all of Paimon's yapping, Childe has already moved to betray them. i mean, this happened in Kaeya's quest for a reason, so they're not unaware, yk?

anyway, after the whole thing in the Jade Chamber and getting steered towards the Sigil stuff, i feel like Lumi sends Kaeya to meet up w/ Zhongli and essentially buy her and Paimon some time before they meet up to complete the Rite.

Side note: when Dorman Port releases, i'm gonna try and redo the Monds. Archon Quest thoughts(tm) b/c i feel like Liyue is so CHONKY in comparison.

ANYWAY!

the Traveler Trio is off to get the Cleansing Bell, which means a cameo from MADAME PING

Cryptic Grandma rolls up, drops a foreshadow bomb about That Which Lies in the Deep, and then just wants her teapot cleaned in return for the Cleansing Bell.

Madame Ping: this teapot? it's my house. Paimon: ??????????????? Lumi: this world has portable housing like that??? Kaeya: Lumi— Madame Ping: the Cleansing Bell is inside. u can borrow it if u can find it.

the moment the Trio see the inside of the teapot when they get shoved inside, Lumi's immediately like "oh yeah. this is just like Cloud Retainer's thing". this actually bolsters Kaeya's idea that Zhongli is an adeptus, b/c they very obviously just found another one that's living freely in Liyue, and even alludes to 'an old friend', and ofc Zhongli called her an old friend.

Lumi and Kaeya being sus and trying to weed out a straight answer from him when they meet up again, only for him to be incredibly good at avoiding the topic. even Kaeya's impressed at how easily Zhongli's able to sideline most of his questions (b/c we all know Kaeya knows how to get info from someone in casual conversation).

i feel like the rest of this was just very 'normal', like them going to get the Kites and getting stopped by Childe and all that. i do think abt how, like, when Childe and Lumi get testy w/ each other, Zhongli kinda snaps out of his Thinking Funk for a moment and actually notices the tension. he very much gave me the vibe of 'oh, hold on, these three have an issue with the Harbinger...' I like to think that this is a bit of a moment where he kinda actually focuses on the Traveler Trio and sort of fully gauges them as individuals rather than just titles (b/c i feel like he's already done this w/ Childe previously when Childe sought him out).

like, before he knew that this was the Traveler and her current party. he knew that she, her floating fairy, and her envoy from Mondstadt have had dealings with Barbatos and are searching for the Seven. but now he's looking at them and is taking in pieces of them that he had glossed over while he was deep in thought. like, for example, the wind scars that both Lumi and Kaeya have, or the scars on Lumi's back—or, maybe even Kaeya's eye? hmmm?

obviously he still has to go and deal w/ the whole Rite of Parting thing but i like to think this is when he Really Starts Seeing These People(tm).

Bolai: so what kinda silk flowers u guys want Paimon: uh. the good kind? Bolai: Zhongli: lists the flowers Bolai: oh i see, u three must be this fine gentlemen's servants then! please refrain from contributing further! Kaeya: Lumi: ???? bro. Bolai: anyway!

i love how, immediately after, Zhongli just,,, yaps about flowers. he's so silly, and he yaps so much. and also Kaeya and Lumine are just like "oh,,, he's so knowledgeable,,,, and also his voice pretty,,,,,,,,"

and then immediately it's followed up with "oh do you have any mora to pay for these flowers?"

anyway, the Traveler Trio go off to get the flowers turned into perfume after the whole thing, while Zhongli goes and waits by the Statue of the Seven. while i am focusing mainly on Lumine and Kaeya rn, i do think that currently, Zhongli's just,,, burdened by such a heavy weight? he's probably still thinking about this decision he's made, and is probably consistently thinking of the outcome it'll have. he's a God of Contracts currently thinking heavily about this Big Ass Contract(tm) that he's got rn. so it makes sense that he kinda just,,, stops to stare at this Statue of his Divinity.

meanwhile, with the Traveler Trio goes off to like,,, talk to women abt perfume.

Paimon: [in reference to some NPC i forgot] Paimon remembers she smells pretty good! Lumi: Lumi: we barely spoke to her when we first arrived here, why are you SNIFFING PEOPLE, PAIMON Kaeya: even by Lumi's standards, that's weird.

anyway, Lumine gets a Weird Vibe(tm) from Ying'er and Kaeya, meanwhile, is personally very concerned and disturbed by the,,, innuendos that Ying'er uses when chatting with them.

on the way back to Zhongli, I like to imagine that Lumi tells Kaeya about her theory while Paimon is charging ahead. she's incredibly adamant about him being the Geo Archon, but Kaeya's not convinced. the current belief he holds is that Zhongli is more likely an adeptus of some kind—because Zhongli's DEFINITELY not human. but the God of Commerce not knowing about Mora??? pleaaaase.

and while Lumi's like 100% sure, Kaeya makes the joke that 'maybe Zhongli was just a simp for Rex Lapis before he died or something, lmao'.

and then they walk in on Zhongli staring at the Statue and kind of being Zoned Out(tm) and Kaeya's just like "hmmmmmmmmmmm"

ZHONGLI TIME, IN WHICH I WROTE MANY EXTENSIVE NOTES (i didn't even realize i was this feral until i reread these notes guys)

Childe said he'd find a guy, and he did! the Traveler Trio go to the bank teller!

Side Note: did you know that the fuckin bank teller is voiced by the same VA as Venti (at least in the ENG VO?). i didn't until i watched my friend do the quest again!! and then we had an argument on whether or not it was actually Venti's Eng VA. i love my friends.

ANYWAY, Traveler Trio hits the Liuli Pavilion, walks in, and LEMME TELL YOU. I fully, truly, genuinely h/c that the Moment(tm) that Lumine saw Zhongli, she Knew(tm).

Like girl ain't dumb. She probably had a moment of uncertainty, ofc, b/c she's not From This World (tm), but at the same time He Gives the Vibes. but, like, when he asks the question about her opinion between Mondstadt and Liyue, she's immediately like "oh yeah, ur the fuckin Geo Archon aren't you".

but also she doesn't say anything, b/c at this point she's more curious as to why this Archon is absolutely positively faking his death and not telling anyone about it.

the more Zhongli speaks tho, the more confident Lumine is. like she's bewildered that he doesn't really seem interested in what Childe's up to, but when he mentions his friend from Mondstadt? she's like "so u mean Venti, then".

Zhongli: oh. i did not bring any Mora. Kaeya: what. Paimon: what. Lumi: Lumi: (how does,,, the God of Contracts,,, and Commerce,,,, not bring any Mora,,,,)

Kaeya and Lumi break amber on Mt Hulao and get yelled at by Mountain Shaper. that was a thing, right? Mountain Shaper and Moon Carver kinda got ignored a lot when it came to the Adepti, ngl. like tbf, i know why Cloud Retainer and Xiao got attention, but still,,, like Moon Carver was cool b/c Beeg Deer(tm) but Mountain Shaper??? bro got sidelined so hard man.

anyway, Mt. Aocang, yah? Total Side Tangent Moment(tm): i always liked the seats that alluded to Guizhong (b/c i love Guizhong lore, she's Very Silly(tm)), and i remember this part very well the first time i did this quest b/c i was also very curious on who Guizhong was. it was just interesting to me that, despite being gone for so long, she showed up in the narrative due to her importance to Liyue? and i just thought that that was so cool... i should ramble abt Guizhong at one point, b/c i'm so interested in her as a character despite her being Deceased(tm).

SIDE TANGENT OVER

when they go into Cloud Retainer's abode, i like to see this as a true testament to Lumine's skills in puzzles. i love Smart Lumine(tm) so fuckin much, and it's always my favorite when puzzles are involved. b/c i see it going down like: Paimon: these mechanisms are so confusing.... Kaeya: i mean, i feel like they're doable, but ffs it's convoluted Lumi: proceeds to completely upend the puzzle in like seconds there we go Kaeya: Paimon: Kaeya: wow, we got a show off here huuuh? (inwardly, he's simping)

after talking w/ Cloud Retainer, obviously they get back to Serious Mode(tm) and get back and yap to Childe. and obviously they give Childe and update, and he gives them an update, and there's still no trust Childe: dw guys, i can help u out, i just gotta find someone Lumi: uh huh. really? Childe: yep. anyway, stay alive till we see each other again! leaves Lumi: sus. Kaeya: sus. Paimon: what DOES THAT MEAN?!?!?

Lumi would make Kaeya not fight the Mililleth for plausible deniability.

i'm not even joking on that, b/c remember that this guy IS like,,, an envoy of Monds., so him fighting the literal gov't might be a Bad Idea(tm). and Lumi would know this, so when u have to fight the Mililleth for Moon Carver, i personally believe Lumi fought them on her own and made Kaeya like,,, hide w/ Paimon.

tHANKFULLY, Lumi = good fighter, so it was EZ (no offense mililleth, but L)

Moon Carver: only fate will decide if you shall find them [Mountain Shaper and Cloud Retainer]—only fate. Lumi: oh no, not the crypticism Kaeya: u say that like this is a normal thing for u Lumi: u don't wanna know.

living for the idea, btw, that when they go to Wangshuu Inn and meet Xiao, it's very much like: Xiao: leave. Xiao: *disappears* Kaeya: wow, what a ray of sunshine. Lumi: Kaeya: Lumi: Kaeya: we're befriending him, aren't we? Lumi: that's the plan.

side note, Kaeya is creeped out by Dusky Ming (he teases Paimon for being a scaredy cat but also THAT'S A FUCKING GHOST CHILD?!?!?!) also when Xiao gets dropkicked by the info of Rex Lapis dying, Lumi and Kaeya immediately go like "oh he was ur DAD wasn't he" meanwhile Paimon's just asking abt Dusky Ming and completely Unaware(tm).

ok, full disclosure, i took notes when my friend redid this quest, but these notes are terrible and i hate scouring my quest archive to find stuff, so,,, haha good luck!

anyway, to set the scene, we've got Lumi and Kaeya headin to Liyue. b/c like, in my actual game, my last two characters fluctuated pretty consistently (it was a weird time guys), so i h/c that it was just Lumi and Kaeya for that reason.

Rite of Decension, the dragon corpse drops Paimon: oh. Kaeya: well. that's not great. Lumi: Lumi: F U C K

the two idiots proceed to try and escape b/c Kaeya cannot afford to be seen as a possible God Killer when he's supposed to be repping Mondstadt, and Lumi doesn't wanna be seen as a possible God Killer because she doesn't want to be WANTED BY THE GOVERNMENT (and also, she doesn't trust anyone who would kill a God!!! better gtfo!!!!!)

personally i think Kaeya knew Childe was a Fatui Harbinger right off the bat, seeing as he's the Cavalry Captain and has experience w/ Fatui. but iirc Childe just sorta tells Lumi pretty quickly. Obviously neither Lumi nor Kaeya trust him like,,, at a l l.

but i mean, they don't have much of a choice but to like,,, trust him, b/c, y'know, dead God allegations.

so off adeptus hunting they go lmao

adventuring rambles #1

HAHAHA I TOTALLY DIDN'T KEEL OVER BECAUSE OF SICKNESS, FINALS, AND GENERALLY JUST PERISHING LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT AT ALL anyway, so i'm currently deep in the brain rot (i have been the entire time gone, u think this shit goes away? no, no it doesn't, i live here now) and i was thinkin abt like, yk, how time works in Teyvat. cuz like me personally i didn't start playing till after Sumeru (and my acc is as old as Inazuma release but i didnt play cuz reasons), but every nation is updated like what, every year or so? so, therefore, at least in my opinion (and thus my h/c's b/c SUE ME) the traveler is in each nation for about a year. which means Lumi's in Mondstadt for a year after the Dvalin thing, doing generally good deeds and getting commissions and figuring out how Mora and stuff works (bc this IS a new world for her, girl doesn't know EVERYTHING yet) so there's a year of her helping out around Mondstadt, working w/ Kaeya and essentially doing team building b/c he's gonna be traveling w/ her when the Rite of Descension finally comes around, wringing Paimon for information on everything she can (girl is feral for info on Teyvat), all that jazz. which makes sense; the Traveler comes to be Very Well Known TM and while fighting a dragon is cool i doubt that's the ONLY reason she gets to be well known, right?

anyway, this massive prelude is just me yapping abt how they totally go to Dragonspine nearer the end of the year to do stuff. and the only reason they CAN go to Dragonspine is b/c they meet Bennett (who Lumi immediately wants to adopt b/c HE'S A BABY), and Benny offers to take 'em up there. :) so,,, i like to imagine that when they're up in Dragonspine, doing everything that has to do w/ that place, a silly thing happens where Lumi and Kaeya kinda get separated from Bennett and like,,, trapped in a place and almost get murdered by a Frostarm Lawlachurl (i have horrible trauma w/ that one fucker by the goddamn crimson tree. he may be dead but i will never forget the fear). anyway, so Kaeya literally almost dies, and it culminates w/ Lumi almost dying to sheer cold to get him to a waypoint, and then her refusing to leave him while he's getting patched up b/c uh oh abandonment issues! (dw abt Bennett and Paimon btw, they made it back to Mondstadt to try and get help; tho tbf that was also an arduous journey in of itself)

now, u must be asking; why did i come up w/ this idea?

b/c it was the best way to express the general Dragonspine experience, and also bc i CAN. totally didn't also write a love confession afterwards, no not at all, i'm not a psychopath

after this, Lumi never goes to Dragonspine w/o AT LEAST 15 warming bottles. and after she finds out abt portable waypoints, u know for a FACT she carries 5 on her at All Times. also Kaeya would never admit it but he gets a little stressed around Frostarm Lawlachurls now.

anyway i WILL Return TM w/ the silly goofy Liyue chapter (at least everything i can FUCKIN REMEMBER BRO (tho i DID take notes when my friend redid it so!! :)c))

kaeya trusts lumi after the whole 'helped save Mondstadt AND Dvalin' thing'. like CLEARLY she's a good person, absolutely super sweet and also really cool (she fought a dragon yall just WAIT till Liyue).

also, i'm sorry, i know the joke is that the only thing ppl have ever done to help the traveler is put up missing persons posters, but i cannot fathom that Jean would sit there, after the ENTIRE THING, and just put up posters.

i just imagine, like: Jean: how tf do i repay her??? she needs more than posters,,, Kaeya: yo i got an idea Jean: where tf did u come from Kaeya: dw abt it, we should send an envoy w/ the Traveler to help her out on her journey.

bc Kaeya would totally think of a good way to help her out bc she DID save Mondstadt, ok. like he loves Mondstadt ofc he'd want to repay her.

anyway Jean's like 'k u can go, its not like u have any horses or cavalry to worry abt'. this was NOT Kaeya's intent btw, he totally imagined Jean sending someone else bc that's just what he figured she'd do, so he was like 'i'm flattered but maybe we let lumine decide that??' bc he figures like Lumine would ask for someone like Amber or somethin

little does he know that Lumine is smitten w/ him now, and so ofc she chooses him as the envoy????

anyway these are my thoughts on Mondstadt, thank god this quest series was so short, not that i remember much of it since i did it like 2-ish years ago lmfao. i'm gonna go die for a bit again lmfao

yk how Lumi and Paimon try to steal the lyre and almost get caught??? then she runs off to the Angel's Share right, and all that.

u can't tell me kaeya doesn't know she totally tried to steal it, right???

like he hears abt a blond stealing the lyre and like??? yk????

me personally, i like to think that Kaeya's like 'sigh i knew she was up to no good. but why tf is she after the lyre?' and he's a lil hurt by it but he'd never say that ever at all no.

confrontation while she and paimon go to get the excess tears to power the lyre, Lumi's like "no wait hear me out PLEASE i know this looks bad" and Kaeya's like "yk what i'm curious, i'll hear u out"

proceeds to learn abt all the shenanigans she's been up to, and all that jazz.

this may just be me silly goofily explaining why/how he's in my party while i'm doing things he arguably wouldn't be there for, but yall can SUE me, i love these two and i think it's silly.

MY BBGRL,,, MY LIL CUTIE MANS WHO I ADORE,,,, i love him so much he's so fuCKIng CUTE dude, lil dragon mans sksmefkhjrshefkj. i swear i'm a normal individual w/ these characters

list of current h/c's: - i feel like he's socially anxious?? like ok, listen, he's GREAT w/ any formal situation, but THE MOMENT it gets casual he PANICs on the inside bc he's like 'wait what's the right and wrong thing to say'. - following that, i feel like when he's in a casual conversation w/ ppl and starts getting panicked, i feel like he's learned to tap his cane twice on the ground to signal to any of his closer companions that he's freaking out. like a "get me out of this situation please" type deal. - this ties into my belief that he's got anxiety regarding smaller scale things. like if he makes a small mistake on something or breaks an object, he feels SO BAD and panics as he tries to figure out how to fix it. - knowing this, i feel like he feels a bunch of emotions, he just doesn't know how to like,,, put them into words? read below - a yearning for learning,,,, actively seeks out how to label his emotions, but how does one define their feelings? Emotions are not equated to logic, and yet they're a part of human experience, so what is the method to label that which is so intangible yet so real? he doesn't know yet, but he's figuring it out and i'm so proud of him :)c - overprotective in his own way. like he's been putting a lot of stuff on his shoulders so ofc that includes him being sensitive towards people he cares about being harmed. - prideful! he doesn't think he's prideful, he just is Proud Of Things, but tbh i get a bit of a "dragon pride" vibe from him. it's silly goofy and rears up the most around certain Archons. - GOOD DAD. NEUVI IS SUCH A GOOD DAD. IF A MELUSINE COMES UP TO HIM TO TALK ABT A THING, HE IS THE MOST ATTENTIVE LISTENER. HE'LL ASK QUESTIONS, TOO, TO TRY AND LEARN MORE. oUGH i love him he's SUCH a gOOD DAD - afraid of losing everything; Neuvi didn't really realize he had so much to lose until he almost lost it, and now he's like even more scared to lose anything else. - anxious of closer connections. Neuvi wants to be closer to people; he really likes humanity, and he wants to reach out to people. but he's afraid, bc if they ever err away from the side of justice, they may end up in his court. no matter what happens, then, is him sentencing them not a form of betrayal? neuvi ponders this a lot - MOVING AWAY FROM SAD THINGS: y'all i'll be SO real, ppl are so used to Neuvillette being in Fontaine that, when he's Outside of Fontaine, unless they Know Him on a personal level, no one recognizes that he's the Iudex of Fontaine. like not even actual Fontainians register it, bc, like, why would the literal Iudex Leave his Natural Habitat of the Court of Fontaine??? - side note, average ppl are intimidated by him. like most ppl look at him and go 'if i approach him, i will be arrested for war crimes bc CLEARLY he is a PRINCE' (which is the best and funniest shit) - 'unrelated'; Neuvi doesn't talk to a lot of ppl outside of his closer friend group, i think u can understand why - such a hard worker,,, honestly probably overworks himself and doesn't even realize it. - WHICH LEADS ME TO HIS HOBBIES HEHEHHEHEHEHE - ARTIST,,, you CANNOT sit there, after Lantern Rite, and TELL ME that HE DOES NOT start looking into the arts. THIS MAN would ABSOLUTELY get into painting and poetry and shit. he likes watercolors and he ADORES POTTERY (THAT FUCKING LADLE??? I CRIED OVER IT IN MY TEAPOT FOR 30 MINUTES HELP) - loves books and stories. like seriously they're kinda actually really fun for him to read bc he sits and breaks down what is and isn't accurate abt them (crime/detective books) and he gets invested in romance books (he's CURIOUS okay??) - bc he reads Fontainian romance books, any and every romantic gesture is like,,, awkwardly sappy? like he'll do small scale things bc he's a lil nervous baby, but it's THE SAPPIEST of the sappy. - fashion lover. Listen, this man could arguably wear whatever he wants and he chose to wear THAT???? he's a fashion lover / makeup master, and i will die on this hill. - he would laugh at Cyno's jokes, but only AFTER Cyno explains them.

Zhongli headcanons

HI HELLO I'M BACK-- i finished my h/c list ages ago but then brainrot took over and i was caught between mini fic writing and schoolwork lmfao. anyway, zhongli's my precious lil mans and i must SCREAM abt him for a moment thank u.

current list: - FLUENT in the art of yapping. could weave a story abt a blade of grass, and y'all know bitches are listening. - i feel like most ppl are kinda intimidated by him. like regular average ppl look at him and are shaken by this sort of regal air he's got around him. - straightforward! he doesn't beat around the bush when he's got a point or needs something. this kinda thing also makes ppl more intimidated of him bc he's just very confident abt it. - WARM HANDS,,, - he gives me the vibes of a fidgeter. like he spins his rings on his thumbs, and will fiddle with the sleeves of his coat. like it's just a habit he picked up, and now he can't help but do it when his mind is wandering. - ON THE TOPIC OF FIDGETING: Guizhong's puzzle box. Zhongli's usually pretty good abt figuring things out when he's confronted w/ something confounding/confusing, but when he can't figure it out or it's a very hard thing to work through, i am CONVINCED that he fiddles with Guizhong's puzzle box. like it's sort of like him trying to solve her final question helps him solve the current Difficult Question he's faced with. absolutely probably fiddled w/ it when he was deciding what to do abt retirement. - this man LOVES antiques and art/music (he likes a lot of things tbh) and he will do anything to talk abt them. like he's probably one of the best antique appraisers, and has stories abt specific antiques he's seen before. as for opera and music and art, he just really appreciates their creativity! also sorry he would absolutely indulge in the art of calligraphy. - he hoards rocks. listen, he hoards them. he loves rocks, and when he finds a Perfect Rock, he just yoinks it (Perfect Rocks are hard to come by yk!!!). - he's usually very sweet and nice, and has a good attitude, but i'm PRETTY sure he's got a bit of pride to him yk. - listen,,, he was in a really long war and lost a lot of ppl he cared abt in the Archon War, and i'm like pretty sure he's got battle anxiety now bc of it. like he would MUCH prefer talking things out, but if push comes to shove he will still fight; he just tends to push himself to the front so that less people get hurt. he just REALLY wants to protect people, which makes him a little self-sacrificial (he's usually fine). he's also fucking PROTECTIVE as FUCK. - Zhongli has gold blood. not red blood, gold; i think this makes him more nervous around red blood bc it means to him that someone is hurt and he wasn't able to protect them. it's equated with Really Bad Things. - back to sad things, i'm 90% sure he's afraid of forgetting things due to erosion. he's always had a good memory, so the idea that he might one day have his memories eroded is one of his greatest fears. - i feel like all of his worries and concerns have turned him from a stern War God to a very gentle mans that will make u soup when ur sick. - Zhongli and Venti are the best of friends and he would deck that guy so hard if someone asked him to. Literally besties for the resties, they hate each other but someone fucks with one of em, the other's got his back. - Zhongli talks pretty, so ya know he's got That Sass that hits different. Like it's out of left field, and it probably doesn't register as a slight at first. sometimes it takes u a good hour before u realize he wasn't complimenting u and instead was calling u an idiot. - the definition of "curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back". literally exudes pure curiosity when he sees something he hasn't seen before. - he adores little gifts,,, like these small gestures would Never Be Noticed by anyone, except him, and he just thinks it's so fuckin sweet. - secretly a prankster. you Would Not Expect It from him, but that's what makes it so perfect. he's the PATIENT type of prankster, too; the one who moves the flower vase a cenimeter to the left every day over the course of a month type of patient.

HERE'S THE LIST, LOVE THIS MAN SO FUCKIN MUCH YALL plEASE,,, he's my pretty mans and i just foam at the mouth over him i s w e a r.

i'm speedrunning this before work while my breakfast is cooking so BEAR WITH ME, i have SO MANY thoughts on my bbgrl

current list of h/c's: - ice skater kaeya, i will die on this hill. will have a post abt that one day b/c there's so much to it that i want to scream abt and Thoughts (tm) to be had (like him getting flustered??? OUGH i need to restrain myself) - speaking of flustered, he's really good at keeping his cool (pun fully intended, fight me) and he typically is the one who CAUSES the flustering. smooth af and KNOWS it - he likes to cause chaos and mayhem. a bit of a gremlin. mischievous man. perhaps a tad prankster in his bones. playful teasing bastard and has a lot of fun w/ it. - cold hands. nothing more. - when push comes to shove, Kaeya's the guy w/ the plan. like genuinely he's incredibly strategic and has the main plan, and like two or three back up plans. it's not even like an anxiety thing he just wants to be prepared, and he makes them up pretty last minute. - he's kind of an assassin-style character, y'know? not as much of a main fighter as he is a sneaky backstabber. roguish and charming but can and will yeet u type deal right??? - LOYAL to a GODDAMN FAULT. i TRULY believe this man's loyalty is unshakeable. like he'd do anything to the people he cherishes the most. and if he perceives u as a threat??? a threat to the things he cares about?????? ur on the list now and there's no escape. - incredibly perceptive! like he's really good at getting information from people already, but i feel like that just makes it a lot easier for him to notice when Something Is Up. it's hard to catch him unawares. - kaeya's great and i love him but he doesn't love himself and i'm sorry this man definitely feels like he's got really bad self esteem. Like he KNOWS he can get shit done, but he has a hard time believing that anyone likes him and probably has trust issues b/c of it. - i also feel like he doesn't like the spotlight? like specifically Kaeya; if he needs to put on a persona for the spotlight, it doesn't phase him bc he's good at hiding behind a persona. but the moment Actual Kaeya gets spotlight he's like a bit of a mess and nervous and would just rathe people enjoy themselves. essentially just doesn't want the spotlight. - abandonment issues. i don't need to explain this one. - kaeya puts on the air of an anti-hero but he's a quiet paragon himself. literally helps people out of habit and while he jokes abt it he doesn't actually expect anything in return and literally forgets he helped ppl bc it's just so engrained in his brain. - epitome of "sorry i had feelings, i'll replace em w/ jokes right away" - not the best cook tbh? like he can make some GOOD snacks (chicken mushroom skewers, a fried egg, simple stuff like that) but ask him to cook actual meals and he's at a loss for food prep and has no idea how to time everything in the dish. - emotionally available but only for other ppl. cannot and will not express his own emotions bc of aforementioned anxieties; but u wanna talk to him abt shit? he's all ears and will comfort u like a bbgrl. - this is less of a h/c but actually canon, and that's just that Kaeya's lonely. i genuinely think he wants to be around ppl but he feels like they wouldn't like the real him :(( - on that note, i WILL say that, despite his playfulness, this man is a romantic at heart??? like he probably LOVES poetry and writing and music, and the only reason he makes light of it is b/c he thinks it's funny and also to make people underestimate him. he would probably die for the opera performances in Fontaine tbh. OKAY,,, i've gotta hurry up and wrap this post bc i have work soon but please here thank u this is my bbgrl kaeya i love him so much. he has been in my main party since day one and like i'm beyond attached to this lil shit, like PLEASE HIS VOICELINES ARE SO GOOD. i will talk more abt my kaelumi h/c's and explain how things go in my "canon", b/c i'm trying to go in order of how all the poly met each other. WHICH means that Zhongli's next!!! b/c ofc i'm going to scream abt him, my friend's playing his archon quest and letting me watch it again and i'm taking so many notes its not even FUNNY.

Lumi headcanons

i have dragged myself outta the hell that's been my weekend and have FINALLY cobbled together all of my thoughts abt Lumine,,, it's a lot so bear w/ me bc i love her so so so much. the big list of h/c's: - extroverted lumi,,, - tired older sister / mom of Paimon. Paimon may know more about Teyvat than Lumine does, but Lumine's the one who takes care of Paimon and guides her through the harder things in life; definitely gives the vibes of Paimon being a kid sister and Lumine being very protective of her. somewhat mother but also not??? definitely the adult between the two smh - incredibly smart. very perceptive with a lotta intuition. i mean, you need to be able to be quick on the draw if you're going to be traveling nonstop, y'know?? - paragon Lumi is my roman empire. - frugal as SHIT, penny pincher extraordinaire. Paimon has yet to find all the emergency funds, and Lumine is adamant on KEEPING it that way. - abandonment issues. listen,,, listen she's got em, we all know she does, and i feel like she gets very attached to people but doesn't really let them know. - stemming from abandonment issues, I feel like she's got this issue of putting the weight of the world on her shoulders? like she cannot let herself feel negative emotions and bottles up a lot of the bad shit she deals with. her belief is that if she's not being a positive force, she's failing everyone around her and they'll one day leave her behind. - adding onto that bit, it definitely shows through the fact that she's not quick to actually anger. like her anger is VERY VERY rare, and usually she's very relaxed and tries to work through things as calmly as possible. - despite lumi being slow to anger, she's def violent in a mischievous gremlin way. definitely gives the vibe of 'u called me short, i am consuming ur knee caps'. But this is more of a bit and something to do as an intimidation tactic for ppl who don't know her, and it feels very accurate tbh - Lumi is bilingual, nothing more needs to be said. - she has scars. like a few of em, too. Mostly from her adventures in Teyvat, since she's less durable than she's used to being??? She has some scars from her fight against Dvalin, a scar or two from fighting Childe, a LOT of scars from Inazuma, as well as scars from using the elements!! - on the topic of scars, i DO believe she has scars from losing her wings in the fight with the Unknown God. and like, this hurts her. she feels such intense guilt over what happened and how she failed to protect her brother. she would gladly boast to you about any of her scars, but if you mention the ones on her back, she gets,,, quiet,,,, - i have done a deep dive dissection of the differences between the twin's elemental animations, and one day i will post that i swear; but for now all imma say is that Lumi struggles w/ Geo element the most. - fear of failure! i mentioned it before, but I personally feel like this has such a huge affect on her? - speaking of fears; CLAUSTROPHOBIA! listen, lumi definitely feels like she'd be claustrophobic, can't handle tight spaces. she also is terrified of the Abyss specifically, but tight spaces? unable to move? feeling trapped???? yeah, she's got that besties. - she feels like such a mom sometimes i s2g. like some of these characters feels like characters she would call her kids teasingly. personally believe Bennett called her "mom" once and he hasn't been able to live it down since b/c she refuses to answer to anything else from him now. - protective Lumi is my favorite, nothing more to add. - Lumine is very dancer-like in a lot of her animations, so me personally i think she would be a good dancer ong. - GOD tiered Cook, she's so fuckin good at that shit, like girl can crack just about any damn recipe she gets.
