“(y/n), come on. help me with this! this is too heavy.” you hear emma say as you walked out of your room, you nodded and held the other end of the box as the both of you made an effort to lift the heavy object.
“mikey!” you hear a foreign voice yell out from outside the house. you and emma looked at each other in confusion before you heard heavy footsteps approach to where you and your sister were.
“pardon the intrusion.” you hear him say, “i’m taking a shower! wait for me upstairs!” you hear mikey yell from the bathroom. you rolled your eyes at the exchange before grunting as the box you and emma were lifting suddenly felt heavier than it was.
“hm?” you look up to see a blonde male with a dragon tattoo on the side of his face look at you and emma curiously, you could only assume that this was the “draken” mikey talked about at the dinner table.
“are you mikey’s sisters?” he asked, you nodded as a response. “i’m draken.”
“i’m the youngest, emma.” “(y/n).” draken nodded before his dark eyes flit over to the heavy box you and emma were both carrying. without saying a word, he effortlessly lifts the box up and sends a teasing smile to the both of you.
“are you really mikey’s siblings?” he asks as you and emma led the way to where the box was supposed to be placed. “you’re not as strong.” you turned around to glare at him who only smiled mockingly at you.
“oi! were you talking shit about me?” you hear mikey ask as he comes out of the bathroom, drying his hair off with a towel.
“oh, mikey. there you are!” he turns towards you and emma. “i’ll put this away, okay, emma?” you swear you can see a tinge of blush on your sister’s cheeks as she nodded in confirmation.
“we’re going to meet my sworn brother at the temple, right?” draken confirms to which mikey hummed in acknowledgement.
“manjirou!” you hear your older brother’s voice yell from the other room. mikey groans as the four of you head over to where shinichiro was.
“where do you think you’re going?” “i told you, old man. we’re going to the shrine.” “who are you calling old man?!” shinichiro asked in frustration before letting out a sigh, fed up with the younger’s antics.
“take (y/n) with you.”
“huh?” “huh?!” you and mikey exclaimed.
“shin-nii… i don’t want to leave!” you say, tugging at your older brother’s shirt. “i don’t care about mikey and his friends.” you hear mikey let out a scoff at your words.
shinichiro only gave you a smile as he ruffled your hair. “sorry kiddo, gramps told me to tell you to keep an eye on the problem child.” “i’m not a problem child!” “shut up, manjirou.”
you sighed, glaring at your brother who seemed to be glaring right back at you. neither of you wanted to follow shinichiro’s words but you knew the earful you would get from your grandpa and shinichiro was not worth it.
“emma, how about you come with (y/n) and the rest so (y/n) won’t get bored?” “why can’t emma just go alone instead?” emma nodded in agreement, eyes still on the tattooed male.
“(y/n), we all know mikey gets scared when you’re mad.” you smirk at the offended noises mikey lets out.
“okay, fine.” you relented before turning towards your brother and his friend. “don’t waste my time.”
“i swear, (n/n), it was huge!” baji excitedly exclaimed. you only nodded at the ravenette’s words as the five of you walked towards the shrine.
initially, it was only supposed to be you, emma, mikey and draken, but baji was already on the way to your house so he tagged along, he was going to the shrine as well, anyway.
once the five of you reached the top of the shrine, you sat down by the steps, conversing with baji and emma as mikey and draken stayed by the entrance.
“you seem happy today, kei.” you say to the ravenette who talked your ear off animatedly.
“ah, the group will be meeting draken’s friend and kazutora!” you and emma tilted your heads in confusion. “kazutora?“
baji let out a grin before launching himself into telling you the story of how mikey kicked kazutora’s father because he thought that he was a kidnapper.
you pinched the bridge of your nose in stress. no wonder gramps and shinichiro asked to keep an eye on him.
“oi! (y/n), emma! come here. meet the new guys.” you hear draken call the three of you. you stood up, dusting the rubble that stuck to your bottoms before walking over to where your brother was.
there were two new males in the small group you were in, you could only assume one of them was kazutora and the other was whoever draken’s sworn brother was.
“these are my younger siblings.” mikey gestured to the two of you vaguely. you rolled your eyes at the way he brushed off your introductions, your eyes were focused on your brother that you didn’t realize the silver haired male staring at you with a fascinated expression.
“hi, i’m kazutora.” the male with a tiger tattoo on the side of his neck said, you nod in acknowledgement before introducing yourself with your name, the silver haired male coughed a bit to get your attention.
“mitsuya takashi.” he says with a small stutter, placing his hand in front of you. a shy smile on his face. “it’s nice to meet you, mitsuya.” you say as you shake his hand with a smile on your face.
if you look closely enough, you can see a light blush coating the male’s face.
you and emma didn’t stay for long, there was only so many topics until the boys lose their filters and forget that they have girls with them, so in order to not get in the way of their childish talk, you and emma decided on leaving early so the both of you can prepare dinner earlier.
“would you like me to walk you home?” mitsuya says in you and emma’s general direction. you politely shook your head with a grateful smile.
“no need, mitsuya! we’ll be fine. thank you for the offer, though.” before mitsuya could convince you otherwise, mikey interrupts with a “hurry up already!”
you threatened to cut mikey’s serving off for dinner before you and emma went your way, once the boys lost sight of you, draken pushed his shoulder playfully.
“eh? my sworn brother is apparently a gentleman. who would’ve known?” mitsuya shrugged draken’s hand off his shoulder with an easygoing smile.
“shut up.”
age: 15
draken didn’t know why he hadn’t noticed sooner. whenever he tells mitsuya that he had something to do in the sano residences, you best believe that mitsuya was tagging along, even if it was something as mundane as draken making sure that mikey wakes up on time for the toman meeting.
mitsuya didn’t care, any excuse to see you is something he would immediately take without question.
he didn’t know why he always had the urge to see you, he brushed it off as finding your company nice and wanting to get to know you more. but with time passing, he still finds himself using that excuse. within the two years of meeting you, shouldn’t he have already known you enough?
“oi, mitsuya.” draken asks as he walks in front of the male. “what?” the aforementioned replies as he places his hands in his pockets, keeping up with the blonde’s pace.
“why do you keep insisting to come with me when i’m just going to pick up mikey?”  mitsuya stayed silent, wanting to ignore the question. draken turned his head to look at the other male when his question was unanswered.
“did you hear me?” mitsuya took a deep breath before nodding.
draken was his sworn brother, he would understand, right?
“i think his sister’s cute and i want to see he–” mitsuya could barely finish his sentence before he was pushed to the wall with his collar gripped into draken’s hand as his body was barely off the ground.
“w-what the hell man.” mitsuya coughed, trying to breathe but the blonde’s grip on his collar only tightened, making it difficult to do so.
“say that again.” draken said, voice deepening as his eyes turned dark.
“i-i would. if you weren’t fucking choking me.” mitsuya coughed, trying to rip the grip draken had on his collar. draken relented a little, loosening his grip enough for the silver haired male to step foot back on the ground.
“the hell is your problem?” mitsuya said after he coughed out a breath, the glare on draken’s face didn’t relent. mitsuya returned the glare right back.
“i dare you to say it again.” “what?” mitsuya was confused at this point. he doesn’t think he said anything to have pissed off the blonde in front of him.
“if i heard it correctly, you said you’re following me because you think mikey’s sister is cute?” mitsuya nodded, a confused look on his features.
a vein on draken’s forehead portruded as he punched the nearest lamp post, further driving the other male into confusion.
before mitsuya could ask, draken let out a grunt.
“what kind of fucking brother are you?” huh? now mitsuya was getting agitated as well.
“what the hell are you talking about?” mitsuya’s fists are now clenching by his side, his patience was running thin and draken wasn’t making any sense.
“i fucking told you that i liked emma before i even told mikey himself, then you suddenly say you find her cute?!”
“ha?! i never said it was emma!” “but you just said mikey’s sister is cu— wait.” draken stopped mid sentence, an embarrassed flush on his face as realization dawned  upon him.
“did you mean, (y/n)?!” the blush on mitsuya’s face answered draken’s question as the blonde laughed, hands dragging down his face as he laughs in embarrassment.
“oh my god. i’m sorry.” draken apologized.
“don’t tell me…” mitsuya was now starting to realize the cause of the misunderstanding. “you thought i liked emma?”
“how would i know?! you said mikey’s sister.”
“(y/n) is mikey’s sister too! and besides, emma is cute but she’s not my type.” mitsuya muttered.
draken smirks as they both walked together towards the sano residence. “i would be offended, but that’s perfect. don’t ever think about emma that way.”
“i share the same sentiments with (y/n).”
a silent agreement and a new bond formed between the two of them as they stopped in front of the house.
“oi, mikey!” draken called out from the door, raising his heavy fist to knock on the door, only for the door to be opened with a confused looking emma.
mitsuya looked at the opened door to see you peering at the outside from your task at hand. it was as if you were curious to whom the visitors were. but draken’s voice has always been distinct.
perhaps… were you looking to see if he tagged along?
mitsuya shook his head, not wanting to feed into his delusions as he looked down to ground himself, only for his head to be raised by your hand. your eyes suddenly staring right at him.
“h-huh?” mitsuya sputters out, your face remained indifferent as your lithe fingers suddenly attached themselves to his collar.
“your collar’s askew.” you mutter before fixing it with an unconscious pout on your face. once you were done, you looked back at your handiwork before nodding at him and stepping away, going back to the task at hand.
mitsuya’s face felt warm, and he was only praying to whoever was listening that his face showed indifference. he looked over to see draken staring back at him with a smirk on his face, and emma looking at her sister with an intrigued expression.
maybe he should thank draken for almost beating him up.
“say… (y/n).” emma calls out from the vanity table of your shared room. you looked up from the book you were reading, waiting for her to continue her statement.
“will you accompany me to the festival tomorrow?” you tilted your head in confusion at your sister’s request.
“aren’t you going with draken?” emma blushed a bit before nodding. you looked at her through the mirror of the vanity she was sitting at. “then why do you need me there?”
“i can’t be alone with draken! i’m too shy.” “so you want me to third wheel?” “no! draken said he’s bringing a friend along.”
you hummed, wanting to refute, but suddenly the weight of your bed shifted as emma plasters her body on yours. “please, (n/n)! you know how i feel about draken! and i’m sure whoever he’ll be bringing will be nice. you know draken doesn’t befriend shady people.” emma fired argument after argument, not giving you room to respond and she shakes your body.
“emma, calm down! okay, okay. fine. i will.” you sighed, smiling at the cheerful expression on your sister’s face.
“i owe you one!” “yeah, yeah. now go to sleep, you don’t want draken to see your eyebags now, do you?”
“(n/n), shut up!”
“both of you quiet down and go to sleep!” “mikey, shut up!”
you blinked at confusion as you see the same confused eyes belonging to mitsuya, staring back at you.
he was the friend emma was talking about? you didn’t know why they bothered keeping it a secret when draken and mitsuya were rarely seen apart.
“you’re here.” mitsuya greets, his brown yukata fitting nicely on him. you gave him a smile in response before twirling a little playfully. “yeah, i’m here.” he laughs at your silliness.
when draken called out to the both of you, you and mitsuya followed emma and draken, falling into a natural conversation.
the both of you were so deep into conversation that when you looked front, emma and draken were nowhere to be seen.
"that fucking bastard." mitsuya mutters under his breath, "hm?" you turn to look at him. mitsuya only shakes his head before leading you towards a stall that sells your favorite street food.
mitsuya's heart pounded against his chest as he saw the way your eyes glimmered upon the sight of the treat, without wasting another moment, he bought it.
"mitsuya, you didn't need to!" you exclaimed as he pushes the treat in your direction. "i'll pay you ba–"
"just take it, (y/n)." mitsuya pushes the paper bag containing the treat into your hands. "and don't bother trying to pay me back. it's not going to work." you puff your cheeks in annoyance before sighing and giving him a grateful smile.
"mm. okay, thank you. takashi." you slipped, mitsuya's eyes widened and his heart pounded on his chest.
you mistook mitsuya's flustered silence as uncomfortableness as you quickly retracted your statement.
"i mean, mitsuya–" "takashi is fine." he cut you off, hoping the orange festival lights were enough to hide the blush arising in his cheeks.
"it's only fair that you call me by my first name since i call you with yours." mitsuya continued, avoiding your eyes, you doing the same.
"...yeah." you awkwardly say, noticing the shift of atmosphere between the two of you.
"uh… we should find emma and draken… right?" you awkwardly ask, shifting from one foot to another. mitsuya nodded, secretly disappointed that his time alone with you is now cut short.
all of a sudden, a mob of people began running towards the viewing area, causing mitsuya to grab onto your hand, so as to not get separated by the sudden crowd.
"the fireworks are starting soon." you realized before smiling at mitsuya and pulling him towards an area that wasn't so crowded.
mitsuya let himself be pulled by you, eyes locked on your intertwined hands and he didn't want to assume, but he felt as if the grip got a bit tighter. then again, he didn't want to get ahead of himself.
sparks of bright colors filled the sky, people letting out sounds of awe as various patterns took over the night sky.
but mitsuya paid no mind. his eyes were on you and his senses were overwhelmed with the fact that you still haven't let go of his hand. his eyes watched as yours reflected the sparkles in the night sky, how your mouth was slightly parted as a look of awe was plastered on your features.
in his eyes, you look beautiful.
his hand hesitantly tightens around yours, drawing your attention from the sky to him.
"(y/n)..." he says quietly, the ruckus of the people around you made you take a small step forward to hear him better.
the moment is now.
"i like you." he says, just in time as the biggest firework exploded.
silence.
you blinked in confusion as the residual embers of the fireworks simmer down the sky, leaving a fog like hue to cover the night.
"i'm sorry… i didn't hear you. the fireworks were too loud." mitsuya felt embarrassed. the expression on his face was something you couldn't decipher before his face quirks up into a smirk.
"i said—" the male was cut off as he felt a droplet of rain on his head. "later. we'll find shelter first."
mitsuya never got to repeat what he said before the rain. but, he didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
maybe the moment wasn't today.
the next day after the festival, mikey decided to try a new location and asked to meet in their dojo.
mitsuya, finding yet another reason to see you, agreed a bit too fast causing a few brows to quirk at the unusual behavior from the second division captain.
mikey only shrugged it off.
mitsuya wasn't paying attention, he was aware of that. he kept darting his attention to his surroundings, hoping to see just a glimpse of you. draken noticed his brother's actions before smacking him upside the head, telling him to pay attention. but mikey was amused.
mitsuya may hide it, but mikey has always been sharp, and therefore able to read people. the blonde wanted to confront his friend, but of course, when has mikey ever made things easy?
"oi– sister!" he yelled to the outside of the room, biting back a laugh as mitsuya stiffened in his sitting position.
the gang leader only felt a bit bad when mitsuya deflated as emma entered the room.
"what is it, mikey?" she asked, a mask on her face which piqued mitsuya's interest.
"how's our other sister doing?" mikey asked, emma was confused as to why mikey was asking, he was just in your room teasing your immune system, does he really think a lot can happen in 15 minutes? but emma followed mikey's teasing gaze to his second division captain who was looking back at her with such intensity, she couldn't help but follow along with her brother's questions.
"(y/n)'s fine, she drank her medicine a little while ago so she might be loopy."
"e-emma." mitsuya was shocked that he spoke up, it was as if he couldn't stop him.
"what's wrong with (y/n)?" he was aware of the glances his co-captains were giving him but he couldn't find it in himself to care.
"she caught a cold from the rain last night." emma explained, and once mitsuya asked all the questions about you that he needed, mikey shooed her sister away, much to the annoyance of draken.
mikey then began talking once more, but mitsuya was zoning out.
you were in the same vicinity as him, sick, he could be taking care of you… he should be taking care of you.
"mikey." he really needs to learn how to shut up. "i'm going to the bathroom, you can continue the meeting without me." he excused himself, but everyone, even pah-chin could see right through him.
mikey only gave out a nod. baji coughs out a quiet "simp." to which kazutora snorted at.
"oh, mitsuya?" mikey called out when the aforementioned was by the doorframe.
"hm?" "(y/n)'s room is on the second floor, door to the left." with that, all the boys in the room let our their suppressed laughs as mitsuya nods and bolts towards your room.
once he was in front of your room, he noticed that the door was slightly ajar, he hears you cough lightly.
mitsuya knocks with a light fist before pushing the door open. your droopy eyes widened just a tad bit as you saw his figure in front of you.
“oh… takashi, hey.” “don’t talk.” mitsuya shushes you as he nears the bed and replaces the washcloth with cold water.
you watch as he moves carefully, as if he doesn’t want to make any sudden movements to make your already hurting head worse.
“was this because of me?” mitsuya asks as he pulls up a chair beside your bed.
“why would it be because of you?” you were puzzled, mitsuya has been acting weird lately and you couldn’t pinpoint why.
“i was with you when it rained at the fest–” “are you some kind of rain god in disguise?” you cut him off with an unamused expression on your sickly features. mitsuya couldn’t understand why but the scowl on your face paired with your reddened nose made him want to coo at how adorable you looked.
“no?“ “then shut up.” mitsuya cracked a smile at your retort.
“it’s just a common cold, it’ll go away tomorrow.” you reassure him.
mitsuya hums in acknowledgement.
“say…” mitsuya starts, you bit back a yawn, wanting to hear what the male had to say.
“when you get better… do you…” mitsuya couldn’t believe he was at a loss for words.
you silently gestured for him to continue with his statement. “would you accompany me to the shrine on new years?“
“okay.” you smile before letting out a yawn. mitsuya chuckles at the sight before patting your head and standing up.
“rest up, (y/n). i’ll see you tomorrow.” you nod before letting out another yawn, letting sleep take over you.
mitsuya then walked over to the door, closing it gently once he left, only to be met with the knowing gazes of his co-captains and president.
“what.” mitsuya tried to remain indifferent, but he felt his face warm up at the possibility of them eavesdropping.
he looked over to see draken smirking at him and before he could say anything, baji’s rough voice caught their attention.
“d-do you… w-w-wanna go to the shrine with me?” baji imitated mitsuya, making sure the tone of his voice resembled a shy boy. baji’s execution of the scene was so exaggerated that mikey had to shush them all because the boys’ laughter was too hard and he’d rather not wake you up.
as much as mikey doesn’t like to show it, he actually does care for you as a sister.
“now, now, you can all leave.” mikey said, pushing each and everyone out, draken had a hand on mitsuya’s shoulder as they walked outside.
"oh, and mitsuya?" mikey called as the remaining boys left. the aforementioned looked back with a curious gaze.
"i wouldn't mind having you and ken-chin as my brother-in laws." mikey winked before shutting the door.
draken let out a groan of annoyance before yelling at mikey to shut up before walking the opposite direction. mitsuya turned around, walking back home with a smile on his face.
the day after christmas was probably one of the worst days you have ever witnessed. you were made aware by your brother about what happened on christmas, and as soon as he finished, you bolted over to mitsuya's apartment.
after knocking a few times, you were surprised to see a small girl in front of you.
"who are you?" the girl asks quietly. you knelt down to look her in the eye before introducing yourself. you see a flicker of recognition behind her eyes as she gasps quietly and pulls you in, almost catching you off balance.
"you're the pretty onee-chan that taka-nii talks about!" you blinked, giving her an awkward smile before asking for her name.
"i'm luna! taka-nii's sister." she pulls you to a room where you see another child cuddling mitsuya who was fast asleep. "that's mana!" the volume of her voice managed to startle mitsuya into consciousness. you gasped as you saw the bandages and bruises on his body.
mitsuya blinked twice to be sure. he didn't want to believe that you were here, but you were and luna was holding onto your hand. takashi asks his younger sister to step outside the room with their youngest sister.
luna, who was oblivious to the situation only nodded before chasing her younger sister outside.
when it was only the two of you, a silence overtook the room. none of you knew what to say.
after a good minute, that felt like hours, you quietly said.
"your bandages are tied wrong." you take a step closer, brushing your fingers on the bloodied cloth before you look into his eyes, a silent permission. to where he nods in confirmation.
you internally cringed as you see the dried blood on his forehead, bruises that decorated the side of his face.
"i'm not going to ask what happened." you assured him as you measured a clean roll of bandages. "mikey already covered the gist of it."
your fingers were gentle against his head, if mitsuya didn't know any better, he could fall asleep while you were tending to him. but he knew it wasn't the right time or place.
once you were done, you pulled back quietly ensuring the bandages will stay in place.
you held mitsuya's face in your hands, inspecting his features if there were any more wounds or bruises that you missed. you were so focused in your task that you didn't notice mitsuya looking straight at you.
once your eyes snap to his, you let go of his face gently after patting his cheek lightly.
"you better get well soon, taka." you say, giving him an assuring smile.
"you still have a shrine to take me to." mitsuya chuckled, even if it hurt his head before he let out a sound of agreement.
"look forward to it."
unfortunately, mitsuya couldn't pick you up due to his mom insisting that he take his sisters to the shrine as well. you assured him that it was no problem.
that's how you found yourself trailing behind the rest of toman with mitsuya's vice captain, hakkai and his sister, yuzuha,  behind you.
the siblings were so lost in conversation that they didn't notice that they were being louder than anticipated. you were so close to drowning them out, the thought of seeing mitsuya plaguing your mind before you were abruptly snapped out of it as hakkai teased yuzuha with him.
"i can see why you would like taka-chan." hakkai said, a light lilt to his voice. "i mean… you saw how badass he was in the christmas fight. i can't blame you for falling."  you grit your teeth, you know you shouldn't eavesdrop at that point, but you couldn't help it.
"you even fell into taka-chan's embrace." you could vaguely hear yuzuha telling her brother to shut up. but all you could imagine is another girl in mitsuya's arms and that left a bitter taste in your mouth.
you knew what you were feeling was irrational and immature, but how couldn't you feel insecure? yuzuha was beautiful. and you couldn't fault mitsuya if he falls for her.
but why should you care?
what were you and mitsuya?
your thoughts become overwhelmed with irrational jealousy, you stiffened when you hear mitsuya's voice greet the group.
"you look nice." you hear mitsuya say to yuzuha, hakkai was blushing from behind as if he was the one being complimented, and you were trying to discreetly sneak out of the group.
not knowing that mitsuya had his eyes on you ever since he spotted the group.
"(y/n)." he smiles. you nod back, managing a small smile on your face.
from the corner of your eye, you could see hakkai pushing his sister into talking to mitsuya. not wanting to meddle with the potential budding of a relationship. you quickly excuse yourself.
only to feel mitsuya's hand clasp against yours.
"where are you going?" mitsuya asks as he pulls you towards him. you looked around to see the other toman members being none the wiser and strolling around the festival. from the sides, you can see takemichi wailing about how mitsuya's sisters stole hina from him. chifuyu was beside him, laughing as he slaps his partner's back, trying to console him but failing to do so.
"i just needed a bit of air." you say quietly, not wanting to let the thought of mitsuya and yuzuha together plague you.
"then let's go." "i meant alone." "no."
"no?"
mitsuya nodded, your hand still in his as he pulls you towards a clearer ground.
"clearly something is upsetting you. and i want to know." "it's stupid."
"it's not if it makes you feel this way."
you let out an annoyed sigh at his stubbornness.
"no, mitsuya. really–" "mitsuya?" "takashi i'm fine. i swear, you should go to yuzuha–"
"yuzuha?" mitsuya was quietly connecting the dots. but as always, he didn't want to get ahead of himself.
"i mean… hakkai and yuzuha seemed to be waiting for yo–" "i don't care. they're not my date to the festival." mitsuya cuts you off.
your face warms at his straightforwardness.
"you look beautiful, by the way." you blinked as a response, at a loss for words.
"i don't know what you heard, but i don't want it to ruin our night. so either tell me now or we'll be miserable for the festival."
"i…" "you?"
"i was jealous…" "of?"
you sighed in frustration at the pace of the conversation before tightening the grip of your intertwined hands.
"i was jealous of yuzuha, okay?" mitsuya only looked at you as you ranted about all the details you've accidentally eavesdropped on the shiba siblings, mitsuya only listened attentively, but when you reached a certain point of explaining why mitsuya and yuzuha should've been each others' dates, he stops you with a finger to your lips.
"i never would've thought you would look so cute when you're jealous." mitsuya teased, your eye twitched before you slapped his hand away from your mouth.
"can you be more serious about this?" mitsuya only smiled before pulling you closer to him.
"you've got it all wrong, i only see yuzuha as a sister. and besides hakkai doesn't know an important detail…" he leans in to whisper in your ear.
"it's takemichi that yuzuha likes." "huh?!" mitsuya laughs at your reaction and before you could ask any more questions. mitsuya mutters lowly into your ear.
"i'm a bit offended that you kept pushing me away when i asked you to be my date." he says before he pulls away and talks in his normal tone, his voice a bit deeper.
"for years…" he starts. "for years i've tailed behind draken just to get a glimpse of you and for weeks i've tried to hide what i feel for you." you suck in a breath.
"when you ran over to my apartment when you found out that i was hurt… i almost kissed you then and there." you gasl quietly at the revelation.
"do you remember when i got interrupted in the last festival we went to?" you nodded. it was the festival you went to before you got sick.
"i wanted to tell you i like you. like, like you." your eyes widened at his words, heart pounding erratically in your chest.
"but i wimped out." he says as your lips parted. as if you wanted to say something but he interrupts you with recalling the days when he has always tried catching your attention when mikey brought you over.
"and now, here i am. just a step closer to you, and you push me away because you think i don't want you?" mitsuya said in a low tone, eyes darkening.
"you drive me crazy." "t-takashi."
"(y/n)... may i kiss you? i don't think i can handle it any longer." you didn't answer, you only pulled his chin down to slot your lips on his. mitsuya reacting in no time as he pulls you closer.
once you pull away to breathe, you couldn't help but whisper on his lips.
"i like you." you barely finish your words before mitsuya is back to connecting your lips together.
from the distance, you can hear the hoots and cheers of the toman members, the whines of mitsuya's siblings as their vision was obscured by takemichi and chifuyu, they were too young to see this side of their brother and mitsuya was grateful for it, and looking over to yuzuha who nodded with a satisfied glint in her eyes.
you blushed as mitsuya held your hand tightly, pulling you closer to him as the both of you made your way back to the group.
for the entire night, mitsuya didn't let you leave his sight, the girls in the group were swooning over the way mitsuya attended to you, wishing that their boyfriend would get the hint, but sadly, they didn't.
mikey smacked mitsuya's back as hard as he could, earning a grunt from your now boyfriend. once mitsuya recovered from the impact, they both laughed over it.
"make her happy, okay?" mikey asked, gesturing to you. mitsuya smiled and nodded.
the countdown of the fireworks began.
and once the first firework exploded into the night, you can hear all the people around you cheer and whoop.
but in a sense of deja vu, your head tilted back down to see your boyfriend looking at you and mouthing the words he said at the previous festival.
i like you.

Some other Tokyo Revengers characters headcanon. There will be SPOILERS.
When Mikey left the Sano household he brought with him his towel and some pics of the people he lost. Almost every night when he's curled up in his towel ready to sleep he watches the pics and cries. Yes, even when he's in bonten.
Draken biggest regret is not confessing his feelings to Emma. So when he gets up and goes to bed he always says "I love you" to her pic on the wall.
Baji is so scared of his mother tears because when she cries she turns in a really strong opponent. She's the female version of the blue ogre.
Chifuyu thought that his mother hated Peke J till one day when he got home from school and found the two sleeping together snuggling.
Takemichi finds some notes of his past self in which he's confused about being friends with people he doesn't even remember he knew and lately being involved in a gang. Past Takemichi is afraid he's going insane so our Takemichi writes te a note in which he explains everything. Not surprisingly past Takemichi is even more confused and thinks he need a therapist.
Kazutora is proud of his tattoo. He just wish people in Japan wouldn't be so scared of tattoos because sometimes is tired of hide it with turtlenecks.
Takuya likes to watch wrestling.
Yamagishi dream is that his delinquent encyclopedia would be published one day.
Akkun dies his hair red by himself as a training to be an hairdresser.
Mitsuya is very good at karaoke, he likes to sing rock songs.
Hakkai is the first and more hardcore shipper of Mitsuya x Yuzuha. He really wants Taka-chan to be a part of his family.
Sometimes Taiju babysits Mana and Luna. One time they asked him to watch IT (the 90s version) with them since Takanii forbid them to watch such a scary horror movie, Taiju accepted but not much longer the movie started Mana and Luna started to cry and Taiju did his best to comfort them (he said he would punch any clowns that goes close to them or something similar). In the end the little ones fell asleep in his arms and Taiju had to live for a week with the Mitsuya because Mana and Luna felt safe only near to him. Needless to say an angry Mitsuya scolded Taiju.
When Pahchin gets released all the Toman members throw a party for him. He was sad Mikey was not there though.
When Yasuda confessed to Pehyan he malfunctioned and froze for a solid 15 minutes.
Angry thought for a while that he would be a nurse when he will be an adult. He changes his mind after seeing Nahoya smiling with his eyes wide in delight while eating the ramen that he prepared. Since then Angry wants to be a ramen chef.
Smiley once stole Angry favorite stuffed animal, Souya got so upset that accidentally unleashed the blue ogree. Since then Nahoya always politely asks to Souya if he can borrow one of his plushies.
Mucho goes to punk rock concerts, one time he brought Sanzu with him, but it wasn't a good idea. Sanzu beated almost all the people in the venue.
Sanzu ends up regretting killing Mucho, he misses the older brother he was for him. Especially when he feels lonely and he realizes he has got nobody to talk to.
When Kisaki reaches the afterlife Baji punches him in the face so hard that for a moment he was sure he would come back in the world of the livings.
Hanma likes to play shooting games at the arcade, but when he loses he usually punches the machine.
Kokonoi lives in a traditional house when he's in bonten. There are a lot of candles, lanterns and things that make it a cozy place. Only Miley is admitted in his house and only for urgent matters. The house is his sanctuary to find inner peace after dealing with his crazy coworkers.
Inui likes goth girls more because they understand and appreciate his hobbies.
When Izana listens to Queen the whole neighborhood listens to Queen.
Kakucho learned to cook from Mochi.
Mochi hates creeps who harass women and always beat them down to a pulp. Harassing a woman is not an honorable behavior for a man!
Shion always fails tests of courage since when he was a kid. He believes in ghosts and he's afraid of them.
Rindou panicked when Ran slept for a whole day, he thought he was dead or in a coma. That's when he realized how important Ran is to him. When Ran woke up he cried for joy and ran to buy a mont blanc for his brother.
Ran cut his hair because he was tired of Sanzu calling him Wednesday or Annabelle.
Never insult someone because they are not fully Japanese in front of South, he will punch the living shit out of you. Since he's also a mixed race person he hates when people are bullied for that reason.
Wakasa saved a stray cat once and let the kitten live with him. Now when he doesn't wanna hang out with Takeomi he said he's busy... Busy cuddling his cat that he treasures so much because it help him avoid unnecessary social situations. And because... Who doesn't love a cat?
Benkei likes to built copies of castles in miniature. It relaxes him cause it takes great concentration and ability to do that in the right way.
Takeomi gossips like an old lady with his coworkers (may God help them)
Shinichiro cried the first time he watched Titanic, it's one of his favorite movies.
Yuzuha meets with Emma and Senju every month to talk about how hard it is dealing with problematic brothers.
Hinata is a fan of Avril Lavigne and sometimes she dreams of touring around the world playing the songs she wrote. Unluckily she can't sing but she has got some alternative fashion clothes.
Emma talks and sleeps with the plushie Draken gave to her. She calls him Kenken.
Senju goes often to Harajuku to take inspiration for her outfits.

Title: Little Help
Pairing: Shinichiro x Reader
Summary: You take pity on the poor guy crying inside the groceries store. | Genre: Fluff | Warning: Mentioned stalking, hinted toxic family and pevious relationship | Word: 8.6K
‘Excuse me, but can I, please, help you somehow?’ you asked walking away from the register for a moment even if you really shouldn’t do that, but honestly, you just couldn’t stand any longer.
The tall dark-haired young man, who you were asking abruptly paused his dramatic wailing about what was he supposed to decide and other incoherent nonsense and looked up at you with wide shining dark eyes as he was on the verge of tears for some time now.
 He had to look up since he was currently kneeling on the floor in the small convenience store you worked at. It was quite a scene. You saw grown men cry in dramatic movies, but never in a convenience store in the hygiene products aisle. Then again you supposed there was a first for everything.
The dark-haired man looked at you with a mixture of absolute gratitude and desperation and sniffed almost like an adorable little child, ‘Yes, please.’
Or a puppy, you thought to yourself questioning if you could get away with patting his head since he really resembled a K9 with his dark eyes and desperation mixed with joy covering his face.
Sighing to yourself over just how long it had been since you were on a date if you were thirsting after this random fool, you turned to look at the shelves and immediately deduced what his anguish was all about.
‘Girlfriend?’ you asked casually pointing to the female section of the selves as the man slowly got up revealing his height in full, ‘No, I wish,’ he said and sighed gloomily before he explained, ‘Younger sister.’
You nodded, ‘Got it. First time?’
‘Yes,’ he said and hung his head down a very negative vibe appearing around him.
You still found it amusing enough to chuckle and picked two options you deemed most suitable, ‘These should work for now until she finds a brand, she likes for herself. It’s really embarrassing, so you shouldn’t make fun of her or give her a hard time by being weird about it.’
‘I WOULD NEVER!’ he practically shouted causing a few other customers to look your way, but you paid it no mind only chuckling some more at his embarrassed state. If nothing else, at least he gave you some entertainment. Working in a tiny convenience store was the furthest from your dream job, but at the moment, you definitely weren’t in a place, you couldn’t be picky about where your next paycheck would come from. Anyway, the work wasn’t too bad. Despite this not being the best neighborhood, your only problems so far were small shoplifters and too chatty elderly people who seemed to enjoy talking your ear off while you worked. Since the clientele was mostly either too young or too old, it was refreshing to see someone your age and laugh a bit at his misfortunate.
‘Is it store’s policy to laugh at good paying customers?’ asked the man as he must have noticed how much you were enjoying his misfortune.
‘It is if they’re funny,’ you said quickly and chuckled, but not unkindly hoping he wouldn’t seriously get offended. He seemed he caught on as even for a moment he shot you a smirk and a look. At least, he knew not to take himself too seriously.
‘I will put this at the counter for you,’ you said motioning for the pads in your hands, ‘if you want something else, feel free to browse.’
You returned to your post by the register and waited for the guy to finish, in the meantime taking on and finishing another customer.
You couldn’t help, but think it was nice that the dark-haired man was willing to suffer this embarrassment and anguish over his sister though, and when he finally came back with some groceries, you scanned everything and tossed him some chocolate bars for free, ‘For your sister,’ you explained, ‘Chocolate helps.’
The man’s hand paused in stuffing things into his bag, and he went to pick up his wallet again.
You shook your head, ‘Nope. It’s on me.’
His dark eyes widened surprised, and instantly he started to protest, ‘No way, I can’t do that-’
‘Well, I’m not giving you a choice so,’ you said closing your register that let out a small ring as you did.
You smirked victoriously at him as you saw him realize there wasn’t much he could do, and to your surprise, he offered you a small smile instead.
He continued to stuff his bag with the groceries he did buy and then took the chocolate bars pausing before he looked back up at you appearing far more relaxed almost casual now that his mini disaster was averted.
‘Thanks for the treats and help. I would have been really lost without you,’ his smile morphed into a grin, and you felt almost star-struck for a moment because of how honest and grateful it seemed. People thanked you a lot every day while you work the register. It was part of the job. Not everyone, but in general those who came here often always spared a small thank you for your help or something more polite and formal, but you couldn’t help, but feel properly rewarded by how this dark-haired young man said it.
Maybe it’s because he’s young and not half bad looking, you thought trying to sober up a bit and wondering if you shouldn’t start dating again since you might gain a crush on this man simply for grinning at you like this.
‘Hey, uh, do you know anything else that might be useful?’
Your own smirk a bit as you heard the hesitance in his voice and for the first time you properly took him in.
He seemed like a nice guy; he went out of his way to help out his little sister even if it must have been frustrating and embarrassing for both parties. If you weren’t working in the story and having to handle all sorts of purchases, you would probably still be a bit awkward about it too. Not to mention you had a few years of experience when it came to feminine hygiene products. But back to the young man in front of you.
‘No mother or aunt around?’ you asked quietly since you knew not everyone was interested in digging into such things. You didn’t even dig into your own family drama.
‘No, just me, my two younger brothers, grandpa, and my younger sister,’ he said, and you sighed to yourself feeling a bit sorry for the unknown younger sister who had to deal with so many men in the house. They might have been loving and all, but sometimes, it would help to have a good female role model. Not that you would consider yourself such, but you didn’t think you were that horrible either.
A sudden nagging took space inside your mind, and even if you never thought yourself to be an overly good and helpful person, looking at this dark-haired guy, you couldn’t help but feel like maybe it wouldn’t kill you to try a bit harder.
You glanced at the clock. Your shift wouldn’t end for another two hours, ‘If you want,’ you started hoping it didn’t come off as pushy or suspicious. You were still essentially strangers, ‘I can talk to her. I have some expertise in the uncomfortable area of becoming a woman. And in my experience sometimes it’s better to hear it from an actual woman, and well stranger.’
His dark eyes widened and his mouth opened in surprise. You didn’t blame him. You were a stranger, and here, you were offering to meet up with his little sister and talk about periods. Putting it like that, it sounded better in your head.
However, that surprise quickly bloomed into something else, and before you could blink the young man looked properly hopeful about your out-of-the-blue offer. It made you wonder if it meant, he didn’t get offered help often or was just really desperate about his little sister.
His small smile turned into an honest and enthusiastic looking one, and a sudden urge arose inside your chest to look away from him.
He’s actually quite handsome.
So, he’s going to be trouble, You couldn’t help, but mentally prepare yourself before you tried to change the topic and redirect your loose thoughts, ‘I finish in two hours. Text me an address, and I will be there.’
‘You’re serious,’ he said rather than asked and set the bag full of groceries down looking for something he could use to write you, his address.
You pulled out a pen and paper from behind the register, and the dark-haired man instantly got to work, ‘I’m Sano Shinichiro, by the way. Call me, Shin.’
He handed you the paper, and just as you went to grab it his fingers caught yours for a moment holding your hand from moving away, ‘You’re a really amazing person.’
He looked so happy yet casual, it was like those things radiated off of him and somehow found cracks in his skin before getting under it. It was too much.
Suddenly, you felt a wave of self-awareness hit you in the gut, and you almost shyly looked away chuckling a bit to ease the tension inside you, ‘Can you stop being so grateful? It’s embarrassing.’
‘But true,’ he said but allowed his fingers to let yours go and pulled his hand away still looking rather happy about it as he snatched his bag and quickly rushed away waving at you as he did.
‘I never saw one pick up a date like that,’ commented your next customer, an elderly man, and you quickly shot his senile imagination down, ‘It’s not a date.’
Right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The evening wasn’t the worse. It was a bit overwhelming to meet so many family members of a guy, you knew for less than twenty minutes, but it seemed you quickly fit right in.
‘You’re not Shin’s girlfriend, are you?’ asked his youngest brother peeking at you through one of the doors as you were introduced.
‘No, I met him today.’
‘Thought so, he couldn’t get a girl to safe his life,’ commented the boy earning a loud disapproving ‘Hey! Don’t tell her that. She barely knows me.’
‘Then she should know right off the start how uncool you are.’
Brutal, but it got you to laugh and definitely lightened up the awkwardness of being in a stranger’s home for the first time.
You spoke to Emma, who tried to act a bit too mature for her age for some reason, but you couldn’t help, but thought she was sweet, and very intelligent for her age too.
It would have ended in less than an hour, but you were surprisingly asked to stay for dinner and ended up helping to cook in the process.
It’s a bit pathetic to admit it, but it was the best night, I had in months.
The next day, you were reading your magazine by the register when Shin appeared in front of you caring something inside a shopping bag.
You couldn’t help but grin brightly and sweetly when you saw him all the while asking, ‘Hi, need more pads?’
The words obviously startled him so he must have been deep in thought, but once he got over it, he chuckled and shook his head. You could tell some of the tension he seemed to have been carrying as he walked in fell off his shoulders, ‘No, thanks. All good on that front.’
You nodded and looked back down at your magazine. It wasn’t that you were ignoring him or anything, you were very aware of his presence which was why you felt you needed to try your hardest to look like you weren’t. You couldn’t have for him to jump to the conclusion that you might gain a tiny crush on him from spending a couple of hours in his presence of him with his family.
It was ridiculous really, but at the same time, it was sort of hard to unsee how sweet and carrying father figure he was to his three younger siblings all the while being charming and easy-going around you.
‘Thank you,’ Shin said after a while, and you forced your eyes up from the words you weren’t even paying attention to in your magazine, only to watch him nervously rub the back of his neck with an almost serious look on his face, ‘You really helped me out yesterday. Uh, Emma was a bit down lately. After you talked to her, she seemed more like her usual self.’
A bright small smile pulled across your lips upon hearing that, and you would be lying if you didn’t admit to yourself, it felt genuinely good to hear you actually helped her. It was embarrassing to talk about this with a pre-teen girl who you just met, but it was just a moment, and the rest of the evening was rather fun. You liked the Sano family dynamic although that might have been due to how much such a good atmosphere lacked inside your own family, and how lonely, you have been lately, ‘Don’t worry about it. I had fun. Emma is a sweet girl, and your brothers are hilarious,’ you said and grinned, ‘Especially when they make fun of you, I might add.’
His nervousness melted away with a groan and eye-roll, ‘Yeah, they love to do that, especially in front of other people.’
You chuckled recalling the evening and then said, ‘I gave Emma, my phone number, so she can talk to me whenever she wants a break from you guys.’
‘Really? I don’t even have your number, but my sister does?’ he asked raising an eyebrow mockingly, and you pushed further by stating in your sweetest voice, ‘When you’ll be as adorable as your little sister, you can have it too.’
‘Should I start wearing pink dresses and braid my hair too?’ he asked half-seriously, and you nodded, ‘Yes, please, and allow me to take pictures.’
You both chuckled a bit, and you looked away playing with the edge of the magazine making a dog-ear only to straighten it up a moment later, ‘But seriously. Your family is really great. You’re lucky.’
When you dared to look back up from under your eyelashes, you could see Shin had a very fond smile on his face, no doubt knowing just how lucky he was to have his siblings and grandfather in his life, ‘Thanks.’
You couldn’t really say anything else. There was no joke or tease that came to your mind, and at the same time, it seemed impossible to speak at all while looking at how soft Shin’s whole face, whole persona, appeared when he was smiling in such a tender way.
You felt a tension settle against your stomach just by watching him, and so you rather looked back at your magazine just to be safe.
‘Oh, I wanted to give you something,’ he said suddenly, and you blinked at his bag as he pulled out a small Japanese bird's nest fern inside a brown pot, ‘Yesterday at dinner, you said you want to have many houseplants inside your home. So, here’s a new addition.’
Your eyes blinked and the tension inside your stomach melted away as you watched him settle the small houseplant on the side of the counter, ‘Is it okay? I had to ask the florist about it.’
You looked up and saw that Shin looked almost hesitant now maybe because he could see how much your own face lacked responses.
It lasted only that moment because in the next event whether you wanted to be so obvious or not, your lips pulled into a bright and wide smile, and you giggled almost like a little child, ‘It’s beautiful, thank you, Shin.’
You could see the relief wash over the young man, as he closed his eyes almost painfully tight and opened them nodding and smiling, ‘I’m glad.’
Your fingers started to softly stroke the pedals, ‘I used to have a lot of plants before. So much so they were tripping people in the hallway, but in my new place I only have a few. They’re expensive, and I don’t have much daylight because of a nearby building,’ you confessed and bit your lower lip feeling strangely cozy inside even if you were brushing against bad memories, ‘I’m going to keep it here, so it has the right among of sunlight coming from the windows.’
When you looked back at Shin, his face carried his usual casual look, but also something close to a fondness for a moment. It surprised you because you weren’t sure you were ever looked at in such a way, by anyone including your ex-boyfriend, who was the reason why you had to move into a small apartment with little sunlight, work in this store, and avoid all your friends.
Shin's dark eyes blinked, and you could tell something changed because the fond look got replaced with momentary panic and him clearing his throat, ‘Good. The florist made me promise it will be taken care of properly. She was intense. You plant enthusiasts sure are weird.’
‘Says the guy whose default topic of conversation is motorcycles.’
He shrugged his shoulders returning to his nonchalant attitude.
Soon after that, you said your goodbyes as Shin needed to get back to work, and another customer showed up. From the day before you learned that Shin worked at a shop nearby, so it was likely you would see him again. You wouldn’t hate the idea, and if you were a bit more honest with yourself, you would even admit, you would like to see him again.
It’s that damn smile, you thought brushing the pedals of your new house (store) plant.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Hey, what are your intentions with my brother?’ asked a short blond kid that carried a remarkable resemblance to Shin which was only fair since it was his younger brother, Mikey, after all.
You leaned a bit further against the counter to have a better look at him.
He and a horde of his friends entered the shop a few moments ago. At first, you simply assumed, they were there to load up on some popsicles due to the horribly hot summer weather. It was unbearable, and since the shop was really small and not as profitable as its owner would like it to be, you were forced to suffer behind the glass windows with almost no cooling too. Miraculously, your plant seemed to be doing well despite the heat, so at least you could take pride in that.
‘Oh, you care about him that much?’ you asked and grinned at the younger boy noticing that even as he looked away seemingly disinterested his cheeks were quite red revealing you did hit a spot, ‘I just down want to see him mope around because of another shitty rejection.’
‘Another?’ you asked genuinely interested. Shin had been coming to the store a lot after that first time, almost daily, and even if your little crush was still very much present, and at times, you were almost positive he felt the same, he never really instigated anything making you think you must have been projecting your own feelings.
Currently, you were very friend-less, so you wouldn’t hate the idea of having him just as a friend, but if there was a chance for something more, you might be brave enough to try it.
‘Just how many times did he get rejected?’
‘Twenty,’ said Mikey looking directly at you with dark eyes that looked almost the same as Shin’s except there seemed to have been something a bit more dangerous inside them for a second before it was once again replaced with a typical childlike spark.
‘Twenty?’ you repeated, ‘That’s rough.’ You wouldn’t rather tell a child, what you would do if you got rejected twenty times, but it would be pretty bad. Still, maybe you shouldn’t feel all that bad about Shin and remember that you got dumped not so long ago and ended up friendless and almost homeless in the process.
‘Shin’s weak when it comes to women,’ explained Mikey, and you wondered if that was the reason why up until now, the dark-haired guy, who seemed to show up every day to spend time with you during his break hadn’t asked you out so far. You wouldn’t hold it against him if he wanted to stay friends, but you couldn’t help, but occasionally catch him looking at you with that same smile you noticed before and wonder about.
‘So?’ asked Mikey clearly not too patient with you spacing out.
You sighed. It didn’t sound like the best idea, to tell Shin’s little brother of all people what was running through, your mind thought, ‘Look, don’t go assuming things about adults. You’re too young to get those,’ you said and watched the boy pout, ‘But know that I don’t plan to hurt your brother. Definitely, not if I can help it, alright?’
You reached your hand to him, ‘Let’s shake on it.’
His hand snatched yours after a moment and shook it while the blond kid stated, ‘I’m going to tell him to man up and ask you out soon. You’re pretty cool. Someone else might steal you before he finally grows a pair.’
You chuckled but thanked him wondering what would happen now if Shin’s whole family got involved in this. Emma already sneakily told you a couple of evenings ago, she would like if you were like her older sister so if now Mikey would also urge Shin maybe he could finally cut the crap and ask you before the end of summer. Or at least make it clear that he wasn’t interested so you could get rid of your crush sooner.
Idiot with a cute smile, you thought to yourself fondly before you noticed something else, and your good mood fell a bit.
‘Oi, you need to return what you took before you leave though,’ you said and looked at the black-haired kid, who came in with Mikey that froze in his track near the shelves with sweats and snacks.
‘What?’
‘You heard me,’ you said looking at the kid but making sure not to appear angry or too adultlike since you could still recall how bothersome that was when you were their age, ‘Come on, if you take it, it gets cut from my paycheck, and the owner will call the police on you and report to your parents.’
You saw the dread that passed behind the kid’s eyes immediately signaling to you something was wrong. It was just the look a child got when he feared punishment. It was the look a child got when he feared the parent.
You pushed back against your own past memories and tried again, ‘Just put it back alright?’
You walked around the counter to the freezer and pulled out some cheap popsicles, ‘Here. Take these instead. The chocolate will melt before you can enjoy it. This will at least cool you down.’
You tossed one to each of Mikey’s friends and kept the last one in your palm looking at the little shoplifter.
He seemed to weigh his options looking at his friends and when his eyes landed on Mikey you saw something shift.
He pushed his palm into his pocket and pulled out a chocolate bar tossing it back toward the box with the others.
When he turned back to you, you tossed him the last popsicle and waved at the door, ‘Now, out. You scary delinquents are chasing away all the good paying customers.’
Some snickered or grinned at your poor joke before they all rushed outside the bell above the door ringing each one out.
The boy who almost stole from you paused those, ‘Won’t this go out of your paycheck too?’
You glanced at him and offered him a smile, ‘It will. But it’s different when it’s my choice, do you understand?’
His eyes watched you for a moment before he grinned, ‘Yeah, thanks.’
You nodded to yourself satisfied with the outcome while hoping a couple of popsicles wouldn’t ruin your plan to pay rent and buy more plants.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After that first time, Shin stopped by every day whenever he had some short break from his work in the motor shop to talk with you. Sometimes the conversations were short because there were customers, the shop owner, or Shin had a busy day and was using his brief smoke break by spending time with you instead. Other times, it was a slow day for the both of you, and the dark-haired guy, you grew to know pretty well now, wouldn’t leave your side until someone called him.
‘Your boyfriend can’t steal your attention when there are customers,’ warned you the owner, and you politely listened, ‘I promise he doesn’t, and he’s not my boyfriend.’
The older man waved his cane at you mumbling to himself as he went to his upstairs apartment again.
Every once in a while, Shin would show up with Emma or Mikey because they came to the shop with him. It wasn’t often due to school, but you liked having them around to help you lightly tease Shin, who never seemed to let it get to him too much.
This time, he showed up with Izana surprising you as you just finished up a customer, ‘Hey, if you bring your grandpa next. I will have the whole Sano family visiting me at work.’
Shin grinned while Izana offered you a short wave and went to look around. He seemed bored.
‘I wanted him to spend some time with me too. He and Mikey often get jealous of me,’ said Shin quietly brushing the back of his head while you deadpanned, ‘No, way. I thought they adored one another.’ You noticed right away that even if the boys were brothers their relationship was more combative if the window that got broken during your visit had anything to say.
You reached through your things and pull out something. You were meaning to give it to Shin sooner, but every time, he showed up, you started to chat and forgot about the manga, ‘Hey, I saw this and thought of you.’
Izana watched you for a moment before he came toward the register and took the manga from your hands, ‘Coco Long Vacation?’
‘It’s set in the Philippines,’ you said and watched as his purple eyes widened in amazement before he quickly opened the manga and started to read.
You smiled pleased with yourself, and when you looked up, you found Shin giving you a thumbs up and grinning, ‘I told you, you were an amazing person.’
‘Yeah, just don’t tell anyone, or they will start taking liberties. I’m a tough cashier, you know?’
‘I won’t let them,’ he said referring to the first statement causing you to swallow. Given how confident he seemed, you could almost believe him. It felt nice to know you would have someone in your corner. You didn’t really feel that in a while.
You looked at Izana who was now fully absorbed in the manga in his hands.
‘I’ve never been anywhere,’ you said eyeing the front page of the manga and thinking about traveling, ‘You?’
He nodded in the direction of Izana and smirked, ‘Manila. I found a pair of engines for my ride there.’
You grinned teasing him a bit, ‘Bet you thought it was destiny that you found something for your bike there.’
You joked for a bit while Izana quietly read the manga near you until you stumbled upon the topic of dinner, ‘I’m going to come later today to cook for you. Emma asked me to show her some things.’
‘You don’t have to-’
‘I tasted your teriyaki if you can’t cook that how do you plan to teach Emma and your siblings to be good significant others?’ you asked pretending to be very serious, ‘it’s a modern age, and men need to pick their share of the chores, Sano-sama.’
You turned to Izana who was still busy reading but did a little hum to let you know he heard you, ‘It’s always a good adult skill, and just because your brother doesn’t possess it, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.’
‘I’m right here, you know!’ said Shin rather annoyed, but you knew he didn’t mean it. You knew well by now and knew it was hard to get under his skin.
‘Oh, and tell Mikey to bring that Draken and Kazutora kid,’ you said before you would forget recalling the boy who tried to steal from the store not so long ago.
Shin blinked surprised and curious by this, ‘Why?’
You shrugged your shoulders hoping to appear more nonchalant than you felt at that moment, ‘They seemed to like their families might not be the best either. They could use home-cooked meals too.’
You tried to avoid it, but it was hard not to know that dummy was smiling at you now all the while carrying that fond look on his face that made him so stupidly handsome, it was honestly unfair, ‘Oh, you care so much.’
‘Don’t be sappy, alright?’ you said and turned only to see him handing you his wallet from one of his pockets, ‘Take as much you need.’
You shook your head quickly trying to protest, ‘You don’t have to, I offered-’
‘You work at this low-income job and frequently feed my siblings with snacks and sweets. I might not be a decent cook, but I would die of embarrassment if I wasn’t at least a good provider.’
You watched his face wondering if this was a dig at your earlier conversation, but since Shin didn’t look any other way but his charming and calm self, you took the money and offered him a small smile, ‘Don’t do it too often though. I might get used to it and bankrupt you.’
‘Nah,’ he said with ease and went around the counter tapping at Izana’s shoulder the follow since they needed to return to the shop, ‘You’re too much a good person to scam someone out of their money. I can tell.’
His words weren’t all that surprising, but the fact that they warm your heart was. You didn’t think you were someone who would take anyone’s money, but it felt nice to know Shin wouldn’t believe you would either. Even if there was still a chance, as there always was, that he wasn’t sincere, you believed him. Every word.
It’s that stupid cute smile.
You noticed Izana was about to put down the manga, but you waved it off, ‘Keep it. You can give it back when you’re done with it.’
The boy looked at manga with a small smile and whispered or breathed out a small thank you before walking outside.
Shin watched a bit stunned before he grinned at you, ‘You’re the best you know that? Call me when you’re done. I will help you with the grocery bags.’
‘Alright,’ you said and waved at the young man and boy as they left.
Shin and Izana were already waiting for you by the time you ended your shift, and as promised helped you with the bags both telling you about the customers they had and what he learned so far from the manga.
‘If you like, I will have a day off soon, so we can go to the store, I found the manga and you can pick up the next one,’ you told the boy who thought about it and enthusiastically nodded, ‘Yes, let’s do that. But let’s not invite Manjiro.’
‘Hey, that’s not very nice,’ you tried to be a bit more adultlike, but Shin cut in, ‘He probably won’t care anyway. He doesn’t like to read manga all that much.’
You had to walk, but it was still summer, and their evening was nice and warm, not to mention, your chest felt warm and soft knowing you were once again going to spend some time in the Sano household.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘Oh, so that must be her,’ said a male voice causing you to pause reading your magazine and listen. The person who spoke wasn’t being too loud but given that it was only him and his friend inside the small convenience store, and it had been quite a few minutes that you thought you felt their eyes on you it certainly seemed like they were talking about you.
Are they planning to rob the store?
Horribly judgmental thought on your part, but to be fair they looked a bit delinquent-like.
You remained seated with your eyes on the magazine but mentally prepared yourself so you wouldn’t be too surprised if they did something. You were a cashier earning low-income in a store that wasn’t yours, you were not planning in any way to try and play the hero if it came to it. Even if the store owner told you it could happen, you were never robbed before despite the seeming interest this neighborhood seemed to be to ex-gang members according to your employer.
Finally, you sensed the two men approach your counter and settled some snacks on it.
Usually, when you worked to scan their goods people tended to look at your hands or around the shop. However, there was no doubt in your mind and body (since you started to sweat across your back), that these two were looking at you.
Your instinct was confirmed when you finally finished offering them your polite smile and thanked them for shopping at your store, ‘Here you go.’
They were looking at you rather intensely before one of them was rather tall and practically towering over his friend and you and likely many people he met in his life. While the other was rather distinguishable because of his purple and blond hair and quite feminine features.
‘Is there anything else?’ you found yourself asking before you could stop yourself because this seemed fairly weird, and if these two had some business with you, you would rather know about it upfront. Even if you hoped that wasn’t the case. Minus some catty behavior from your classmates in middle school, and the whole ordeal with your family and ex-boyfriend, you were never in a physical conflict with anyone. Let alone these two men who looked like they could take you down with a single hit if they really wanted to.
‘Say, would go out with a known-gang leader?’ asked the bulky one, and your smile froze in place as your panic and confusion kicked in because huh?!
‘Uh, what?’ you asked looking from one to another wondering if he was asking you out. You honestly didn’t really know what to say. You didn’t want to accept, but you didn’t want to get beat up either.
‘Ignore him,’ said the other one, and took their stuff not bothering with a bag.
You felt honestly relieved except, you couldn’t overhear their words from the next moment, ‘If you scare her off before Shin even grows the balls to ask her, he will never forgive you, you know?’
Again, what?!
Luckily, Shin stopped by only after they left, and you were already prepared for just what you would ask him. However, you decided to toy with him a bit pretending to have a secret all the while waiting for him to declare he was going to go out to smoke a bit, ‘Say, you wouldn’t happen to be a well-known former gang leader, would you?’
The look on his face as he opened his mouth causing his cigarette to fall out was priceless.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the time October rolled in, you lost all hope Shin would ask you out, and you had to wonder if maybe everyone was mistaken. Even if you and Shin were constantly teased about it, it seemed the dark-haired boy would simply tell everyone to shut up or mind their business rather than admit there could be more to his feelings than friendship. You made some peace with yourself about it, but it didn’t stop from occasional wishful thinking especially when you slowly morphed into a sixth member of the Sano household with how often you came to cook them dinner and saw them around the store. It was probably just the whole feeling of safety and comfort, that it couldn’t be helped, and the best you could do was make sure your feelings that now seemed to move beyond crush wouldn’t get in the way of your new domestic routine. You liked it too much to jeopardize it.
In the present moment when you took a break from checking out customers and thinking about what to cook today for the two growing boys, one growing girl, an elderly dojo master, and a young man, you were very fond of, you frowned.
You looked out of the window and saw that the man from earlier was still standing there.
Asshole!
It happened a couple of days ago. You were doing your job and being decent enough toward this strange man, who however seemed to have taken a likely of you. An inappropriate and unreciprocated liking of you!
You were doing your job and being polite, not once signaling you had any interest in the man whatsoever. He was much older than you and seemed to have a certain vibe that didn’t sit right with you at all.
Since you told him a couple of times, you weren’t interested until the point you asked him to leave because he was holding the line, he tried to stay inside the store with you without buying anything.
Luckily, the owner of the store didn’t like that and his behavior toward you either and kicked him out threatening to call the police if he didn’t leave his shop.
You were relieved and hoped it would be the end of it, but it was far from it. Yesterday, you stayed longer in the store because the owner wished to properly tidy and clean it up. You didn’t mind since he offered you more money, and it was painful to watch the old man try to do it himself when he needed a cane to move around. However, this forces you to walk home in the dark and a couple of moments in, you were positive you heard footsteps following you.
Your heart sank even now just thinking about how terrified you were running for your life even if you couldn’t really see if anyone was there.
It was a horrible experience and seeing that the creepy man from before was back, you couldn’t help, but think it was him yesterday who followed you. Even if you didn’t have any proof. You had a hunch.
Today, it seemed he had the same tactic. It seemed, he learned of the days when the shop owner wouldn’t be around and decided to wait for you then. You felt sick to your stomach despite trying to appear all tough about it as if it wasn’t a problem.
I’m scared.
This was why you hated being alone before. But at least now, you would like to think you weren’t completely.
You snatched your phone and called one of the few numbers you had there even if the owner frowned upon you making personal calls during working hours, ‘Hi, are you busy?’
‘Just finishing up. Do you still plan to cook for us tonight? Because if not Mikey took a liking to hamburgers.’
You chuckled knowing that sounded like something the younger Sano would enjoy easing up a bit before you glanced outside again knowing the man was still there, ‘Listen, uh, there’s a troublesome situation. Well, it’s mostly a bother, not actual trouble.’
You could hear how he stopped working and probably fixed his phone to hear you better before he asked, ‘What’s wrong?’
‘There’s this man outside who’s waiting for me,’ you said realizing just how stressed you felt just thinking about it let alone talking about it.
‘Y-you have a boyfriend?’ you smiled a bit at how freaked-out, Shin sounded, and instantly felt better brushing your face and calming down knowing just hearing his voice helped, ‘Sadly, no,-‘
-because he’s taking his freaking time to ask me out-
‘-a stalker,’ you said and grimaced a bit, but that was essentially what the weird man waiting for you outside even if you told him, asked him, begged him not to, was.
‘I’m coming over,’ he said with an almost chilling voice, and you heard him move.
‘If you’re not done, you don’t have to. He’s outside and I’m inside the store-’
‘Good, stay there. Talk to me before I get there, alright?’ Shin asked his voice softening up but remaining tense throughout the entire conversation. You felt almost completely safe and comfortable just hearing his voice as you talked through the phone, but your eyes still shifted to the man outside from time to time just so you wouldn’t be surprised if he was gone.
‘I’m here, I’ll be over in a bit,’ you heard him say finally and end the call.
You patiently watched as Shin suddenly appeared in front of your stalker and without a warning hit him across the face sending him to the ground.
You were shocked. Ever since you found out Shin was a former gang leader, it didn’t really affect your views of him. Maybe because of how calm and charming he was, you couldn’t even imagine it, however, now as you watched him, he sent the man down and stood above him obviously telling him something, you had to admit he seemed beyond powerful.
The man rushed away tripping on the sidewalk, but Shin didn’t come into the store until he was sure he was gone.
He barely opened the door, but you felt a rush of something take over you, and came to meet him halfway, ‘Shin!’
He immediately pulled you into a firm and safe embrace, ‘It’s alright. He won’t bother you anymore. I promise you’re safe.’
You found yourself closing your eyes and pressing your forehead against his body while he put the hand that wasn’t keeping you close on your back to the back of your head to bring you even closer.
This feels really good.
Your whole being relaxed against the young man, and you whispered a soft, ‘Thank you.’
Shin kept you company until it was finally time to close, he helped you tidy up and lock up.
‘From now on, I will ride you to and from work. I can take you home to get some clothes, and you can sleep at our house for a while. Emma will be over the moon,’ he said as he took your hand in his leading you back to his shop to get his bike since he ran over without even thinking that taking it would be faster.
You chuckled feeling touched but also trying to ease the seriousness of the situation, ‘Don’t you think, you’re overdoing it a bit?’
‘I know you’re safe now, but I want to make you feel better. You like spending time with us, right?’ he asked watching your face, but you both knew the answer even before you nodded.
He grinned and continued to watch you softly, ‘Then let us help you take your mind off of this. Let’s make you feel better.’
You giggled a bit at his antics, but he made it impossible to feel anything negative at the moment.
Your hand squeezed his hand back enjoying how warm and solid it felt as it held onto you like he didn’t plan to let you go any time soon, ‘Alright.’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fortunately, you never saw or heard from your stalker again although you rarely found yourself walking around and you figured after getting beaten up by Shin, the creep wasn’t too inclined on returning and potentially meeting him again.
Unfortunately, you did meet one of your old friends.
‘Oh, I didn’t really come here to buy anything. I simply came to ask if you could give me smaller cash?’ she asked and immediately showed the bills in front of your nose.
You did your best to appear polite if only because you knew it bothered people more if you acted like their insults didn’t get you.
‘So, I heard from someone that you worked here, but I’m still stunned. I could never do what you did. Move away from your ex, quit your job, and start fresh,’ she looked around the place as if she was worried something nasty might be leaking and touching her.
You didn’t really care much for her words, but it did bother you that Shin, who stepped aside when the woman showed up could hear her too, ‘Did you hear your ex is getting married? It must have been really hard for you since you were together for so long. Are still alone?’
You knew she was going to ask that or something similar, and you feared it would still hurt, but the moment she did ask, you didn’t really feel any pain, you simply recalled seeing Shin and his family grinning at you as they threw you a small dinner party not so long ago giving you even more house plants and other things they learned by now that you liked.
A smile appeared across your lips, and you opened your mouth to answer in good conscience that you weren’t alone at all.
However, before you could you noticed Shin stepping around the counter toward you, ‘Sorry, I have to get back to work, but I will pick you up after your shift, alright, darling?’
You were stunned beyond words, but it became worse or better when suddenly you felt his palms take hold of your face.
His thumbs gently nuzzled the skin on your cheeks, and you had a second to see Shin’s fond face look at you with something unreadable behind his eyes before he leaned closer.
The moment, you felt his lips touch your own, you forgot all about your former friend, the potential other customers, or everyone else in the world. His lips were soft and warm, and the moment they pressed against your own, it was like static ran through you lightening up every corner of your body. It was all too short and tender, and it broke you in a way, you didn’t think would be possible, and enjoy every micro-second of it.
When he leaned away, he seemed to be in a strange peace all the while your heart threatened to burst out of your chest.
His smile was the charming calm one you knew so damn well now it should have been illegal based on all those things it could do to you without effort.
Then since even such a small kiss made it too hard to process what was happening around you, Shin winked at you and turned you around settling one of his arms around your shoulders in order to keep you close to his side, ‘That’s so lucky.’
His voice sounded a bit off, and you were grateful that it at least made it clear you weren’t the only one affected by what happened.
You blinked and realized he was talking to your former friend who seemed stunned by what happened as well. Obviously, she assumed you would never find anyone again.
Shin cleared his throat a bit, but carried on in an overly cheerful way, ‘Make sure he gets our congratulations, right darling?’ he asked looking into your eyes before he turned back to the annoying woman in front of the counter, ‘But shouldn’t you be on your way. You needed to change the money for something, right?’
You couldn’t help but burst out giggling upon hearing him act this way toward the woman and offered her your best fake polite smile that wasn’t your best at all because of all the giggling, ‘T-thank you so much… for shopping here. Have a nice day!’
You both waited until she was gone before you burst out laughing only to calm down a moment later with you immediately looking at Shin’s face, ‘Why did you do that?’
‘She was annoying,’ he said, and you gave him a look, ‘Do you often have the urge to kiss other people when you find someone annoying?’
He smirked, ‘If that person is you then yes,’ his dark eyes seemed darker now, but not in a bad way, ‘Often.’
You watched one another for a moment before Shin cleared his throat, ‘So that was your friend?’
‘My ex’s friend. When I moved from my family,’ you said, and he nodded since you already shared a lot about how toxic and troublesome, they were, with him, ‘he immediately took me in. He had a good-paying job, and all his friends became my friends. He gave me a job in his small business. He fell in love with someone else, dumped me, and forced me to move and quit. All our friends became his friends again,’ you said in a nutshell. It was horrible, and you still felt hurt by a lot of those things, but it didn’t hurt as much as it did at the beginning, not when there was still a tingling inside you caused by the sweet kiss you received a moment ago.
You glanced down noticing he was still holding his arm around your shoulders and smirked a bit, ‘Darling?’
You watched Shin’s usually pale face turn slightly red and his free hand rubbed the back of his neck, ‘She was really annoying.’
‘She was, wasn’t she?’ you agreed but continued to look at him not able to stop smiling, ‘It was nice,’ you said and with your free hand you reached out letting your fingers brush your lips as if you could touch the remains of Shin’s kiss on them, ‘You always try to save me. I really like that about you. You’re a really amazing person, Shin.’
His dark eyes followed the movement of your fingers before he breathlessly said, ‘I like a lot of things about you too.’
‘Yeah?’
‘Yeah.’
His dark eyes looked a bit hazy now, ‘For a long time now actually.’
Your heart skipped a beat before it started to beat even faster than before all the while you couldn’t stop smiling feeling like your chest might explode with the wave of absolute adoration you felt toward Shin at that moment, ‘That makes me really happy.’
He took in a deep breath moving closer to your face, ‘Really?’
You bit your lower lip pulling your fingers out of the way, and nodded all the while moving closer as well, ‘Really.’
Your lips touched again, this time far more unkindly than before moving against each other as if they wished to leave an everlasting mark spreading the spark from before even further and deeper inside you leaving you breathless when you finally broke apart for air, ‘E-every-one told me…,’ he took in a deep breath and let it out before he carried on, ‘to ask you already.’
‘You should have,’ you told him leaving no room for doubts before you put your arms around his neck enjoying how flushed his face looked knowing yours was no better.
You giggled as he let out a silent curse.
He managed to put his palms on your waist bringing you closer to him and holding you still.
‘Shin,’ you giggled some more urging him on feeling like your chest might explode with the feelings of adoration and affection for this man, ‘Shin, ask me now.’
He chuckled, ‘Go out with me, darling?’
Your answer was another kiss.
Koniec
A.N: Thank you for taking the time to read this. It turned out longer than my usual works. I hope you and your loved ones are alright. English is not my first language so I apologize for mistakes and such. Have a lovely day 💙💛

How They (Almost) Lost Their Virginities
Warnings: NSFW
Reader: Female
Characters: Chifuyu, Mitsuya, Rindou
(if this does well or people request more I'm down to make this a series. Gonna start out small for now and do my top 3 faves so far.)
Tumblr media
NSFW Underneath MDNI
Chifuyu:
- You two were around 17 and kind of around that area of starting to want to push your relationship further.
- However, there always seemed to be something in the way whenever the two of you even thought about being intimate with one another. First off both his mother and your parents insisted that your doors stay unlocked
- Second, it was either Peke J or your parents interrupting the two of you by knocking (or in Peke J defense clawing) at the door.
- Peke J had managed to get inside his room one time while your boyfriend's mother was away since Chifuyu had failed to close the door all the way and basically watched for a while as his owner rested between your legs, the two of you basically grinding against one another trying to create some friction.
- As soon as Peke J noticed his owner's hand slip under your skirt and a moan slip past your lips, he honestly thought Chifuyu was hurting you, so the next thing your boyfriend knows is that his cat is on the bed and swatting at him till he falls off both you and the piece of furniture.
- Glares over his bed at his cat that's now resting on your stomach while you're trying your best not to laugh.
- However, that isn't how the two of you nearly lost your virginities to each other.
- It was when Chifuyu was learning how to drive, going on and preparing to get his license when he reached 18. Though he shouldn't have been driving, his mother had allowed him once a week on a weekend to take her car out to the country to try and practice on some empty roads.
- She had no clue that he had picked you up one night and that the two of you were currently on some back road near the woods in the back of her car trying to mess around.
- I say try because it was kinda difficult to get comfortable at first. When he was between your legs eating you out you had grabbed at the door and accidentally opened it, tumbling out of the car. Once back inside and the doors locked you tried sucking him off however that failed as well.
- You couldn't really get comfortable on the floor of the car since it was hurting your knees and when he tried leaning against the car door to let you back on the seat with you laying on your stomach, your tongue had accidentally brushed against a sensitive vain causing him to moan and throw his head back which caused him to bust his head against the door he was leaning against window.
- However, for some reason, that doesn't stop you two. You're both too horny to really care.
- But you did end up giving up when he tried to put it in, you laying on your back with him on top, and his hand slipped from the edge of the seat beside your head. He fell off and somehow busted his nose on the center console causing it to bleed.
- His mom gives you both an odd look as you help your boyfriend inside his apartment, a bloodied tissue against his nose. You both try to lie saying he had been driving home when he saw you walking home from the convenience store and decided to pick you up. He'd slammed on the brakes and busted his nose.
- His mom proceeded not to believe the two of you when the next day she was checking her car and found an open condom wrapper in the back.
Mitsuya:
- Mitsuya, aka the gentleman, aka husband material, honestly doesn't care when he loses his virginity, as long as you're comfortable and it just feels like the timing is right.
- The two of you have made out before in his apartment while his mom and sisters are away or when he's at your place, however when they're home the only thing you're really getting are quick pecks and some squeezes from behind.
- It really doesn't bother you though, because there are obviously boundaries and do/don't for when he and your family are home. However, the older the two of you got the more you both felt that certain boundaries were beginning to falter as the two of you explored each other more.
- You both experiment with each other before even thinking about going all the way.
- As you got older his arm went from resting around your shoulders to a hand on your waist to a hand on your thigh.
- When his mother is asleep or working late and his sisters are tucked in you usually find yourselves on the couch watching a movie. Or, well, you used to. There's still a movie on in the background and a blanket thrown over you but his fingers are inside your panties thrusting in and out of your slick pussy.
- However, the moment the two of you hear the door creak to his and his sister's shared bedroom, you're both upright and separating from each other. He's wiped his hand off on his pants legs and you've got your legs crossed and the blanket wrapped around you in embarrassment.
- All Luna wants is a glass of water which her big brother fetches for her before sending her off back to bed. However, when she leaves the mood is ruined and you both decide to cuddle instead.
- You're both left horny and frustrated.
- It's kind of bad at your home too since your mother is a stay-at-home mom and is always knocking on your door asking if the two of you are alright. No, you're not, you're both horny and trying to suck your boyfriend off but she keeps asking if y'all want anything to eat.
- However, all those incidents were just in the heat of the moment. Usually, make-out sessions that got very handsy.
- You both almost lost your virginities to each other at school actually, during graduation. He'd asked if you'd join him in the club room while he collected some of the designs he had left there, and somehow the two of you ended up kissing as you both shared memories of high school with each other inside the room.
- However, kissing quickly led to you unbuttoning his pants while he had his hand shoved up your shirt groping at your breasts. Next thing you know you're laying across one of the few desks in the room, your panties stuffed in his pocket while he rubs his cock between your slick pussy lips.
- You're both moaning into each other's mouths and your legs are wrapped around his waist wanting nothing more than for him to fill you up. However, you're both interrupted by the sound of footsteps that are quickly approaching.
- You can hear two girls talking, both of which are from Mitsuya's club, and you quickly separate. He tries his best to pull up and buckle his pants while you try to recollect yourselves. Both of you are obviously flushed and trying to be normal.
- The underclassmen walk in, both confused as to why the two of you are there. Mitsuya is sitting in a chair, papers held up to his face pretending to study his designs, to which the girls understand but they're mostly confused as to why your shirt isn't buttoned properly and you're counting a small box of different colored buttons on the other side of the classroom.
- They don't remain in the room long, however, the two of you are embarrassed and you can't leave till Mitsuya's erection goes down.
Rindou:
- Both of you have matching horny energy, which is kinda funny since you're both virgins. When I say that I mean you could be eating a popsicle and when he randomly asks "Can you suck dick like?" instead of getting embarrassed you look him dead in the eyes and ask if he wants to find out.
- That's the first time you gave head and he's ever had his dick sucked.
- He ate a mango one time and was like, really getting into it, so as a joke you tried asking if he could eat pussy like that, and not even five minutes later your legs were over his shoulders and your hands in his hair as he ate you out for the first time.
- However, whenever the two of you actually did get close to going all the way for some reason the two of you just got shy. Like, all cocky energy is gone because you're both about to be extremely vulnerable with one another.
- Your faces are red and you end up turning away from each other. In the end, he usually ends up fingering you to completion while you give him a handjob.
- It doesn't help that whenever the two of you chicken out if Ran is home he'll usually be on the couch watching tv or on his phone. When he hears the two of you come downstairs he just shoots y'all a smirk since he notices the fresh hickeys on both your necks and asks if y'all had a nice time.
- Rin is embarrassed and just walks away with you following after him and burying your face into his back while he looks through the fridge for some water for both of you.
- The two of you almost lose your virginity on your first year anniversary. He took you out to a nice restaurant and you insisted on renting a room at a love hotel for the two of you.
- The room is actually really nice, however, the two of you end up sitting on the bed for the first ten minutes of being in there, awkward.
- You insisted on freshening up and taking a bath before getting started, you have even brought a set of lingerie that was the same shade of Rins eyes, and oddly enough he asks if he can join you, which you're not against.
- After that things just kinda start going along naturally. The two of you make out in the bath, and he allows you the privacy to change.
- His face gets really red when he sees you in the lingerie set and once again things start taking their natural course.
- You're both so close to going all the way until when Rin reaches over to grab the condom, but he reaches too far and slips up.
- He accidentally falls off the side of the bed and when going down accidentally drags you with him. He ends up hitting his head on the side table and you end up face planting on the floor. To make matters worse at that time the phone starts to ring, letting the two of you know your time is up.

જ⁀➴ synopsis: you meet shinichiro one day when he’s working in his shop. you’re sweet, nice and there’s an obvious tension between you two. you feel like a teenager with the way he’s making you nervous, but you accept to go on a date with him. things only get better from there.
જ⁀➴ content warning: so much fluff i almost cried, fem!reader, you and shin have the biggest crush on each other, he’s so sweet and respectful, eventual smut, mentions of a breeding kink, protected sex, fingering, oral (fem! receiving), pussy whipped shinichiro, dirty talk, lots of kisses, shin has a big dick<3
જ⁀➴word count: 7,9k (lord have mercy)
જ⁀➴note: a great thank you to @mztoman  for commissioning me again!! I got so carried with this fic, the plot was just so good!!
COMMISSIONS ARE STILL OPEN: 1 SLOT LEFT.
COMMENTS AND REBLOGS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED!
Tumblr media
Working on weekends was Shinichiro’s least favorite thing about his job. He tried his best to make it a good experience, he really did, but he was tired from a long week of working eight hours a day (and sometimes more when there was an emergency). And so, small things got on his nerves.
His lunchbox wouldn’t open, he forgot to pack chopsticks with him, he forgot to put water in his mini-fridge, the air conditioner was barely working—good lord, he was getting so annoyed.
Ring!
Oh great, a customer visiting when he was at his wits ends. Shinichiro stands up from his crouching position next to the bike he was working on. He grabs the rug that was attached to his pants and wipes his hands. He was expecting the usual type of customers; rude, stubborn, the know-it-all who tried to explain to him his own job and how it’s done. All in all, unlikeable.
Though, he is pleasantly surprised when he finds a girl standing at the door, looking around his shop with heart eyes. You looked so lost in your thoughts, your hands gripping your hand bag so tightly (from nervousness? Shinichiro wasn’t sure). Your stance was polite, and you looked in awe at his work. Maybe working today wasn’t such a bad idea if his first customer of the day is someone like you.
He brushes off the thoughts, telling himself that you looked young—no, way too young for someone like him. Plus, he wasn’t exactly the luckiest with girls. He’s had his fair share of hookups, tried to be in relationships, but things just never worked out for him.
He rolls his shoulders as he approaches you, greeting you with a wave. He was tall, had a smile that had you feeling a little dizzy—good god, this man was attractive. Whether it be the way he carried himself, or how he wiped the dirt off his hands, you could tell that he was hardworking and truly loved his job.

DIE FOR YOU 𑁍 haitani rindou
nsfw (smut) mdni
sweet / die for you / west coast / heart to heart
Tumblr media
If one were to ask Haitani Rindou what matters to him the most in life, his answer would be the same every single time.
"My girl," he'll say.
It's straightforward, no sugarcoating, and he always says it nonchalantly, too. For someone at his age to answer anything but career or money always shocks people to the core -- but Rindou thinks it's fine. It's okay. It doesn't matter what they say or wonder. Because in the end when he comes back home to you and you greet his tired figure with warm arms and a pretty smile he suddenly doesn't feel like dying anymore -- he doesn't think it's wrong or shameful for you to be so important to him; for you to mean so much to him.
And Rindou will choose you every single time despite everything because he loves you an awful lot and he knows there is nothing in the world that can weigh and matter more to him than you.
The evening sun hangs low on the horizon and paints the skies a pretty apricot. Hot summer air turns into wind as it breezes through the Earth and into your opened window -- the furin you bought from Kyoto a while ago hangs sturdy on the wooden frame and it chimes softly with the sheer curtain you adore so much swaying together as the wind blows past. Its warmth makes you sweat and your skin is sticky and moist while you pant and moan in Rindou's ear; soft, pretty whines and lewd whimpers -- the signs of your Eden all because of him and for his ears only. It is only ever Rindou who gets to listen and savour it in his head while he loves your body to.
He flushes, the warm fuzzy feeling in his chest getting a little too overwhelming for a man like him to handle and he fucks you a bit harder at that -- a man like him who is brash and rough around the edges and he needs you there to smooth it all out. He wants you with him to ground his fleeting mind; when it gets so bad he starts hyperventilating and you're always there to hold him as you whisper lovely little words in his ear -- words he never got to hear when he was a child, words he never got to say as a teenager, words he thought he'd never experience when he is older.
Rindou's heart rattles against his chest, pride high into the heavens when you say his name again and again and he hugs you anymore closer to his body. He thinks you are everything that is made out of love. He even believes that you are love itself.
The collar of the tight tank top you're wearing is stretched and pulled beneath your breasts and Rindou sucks a nipple into his mouth. You gasp at the sensation of his tongue swirling around your hardened bud and it makes you clench tighter around his dick.
"Fuck," you curse when the tip of his cock kisses at your walls so perfectly and your pretty tits bounce up at his deep, hard thrusts. Your mouth is ajar and your sighs of pleasure escapes in the form of puffed breaths when he releases your bud with a lewd pop. "Fuck." You say it again and he moves to bite and suck on your bottom lip.
Rindou's hands finds themselves on top of your limp ones and he intertwines your fingers together. All twenty -- his that are bigger and thicker and longer than yours -- locked and gripped tight against one another. He feels the cool of the metal band on your finger against his skin and he smiles a little at it.
Rindou slows down his pace and you're quick to whine at the sudden change of speed, "baby . . ." but it hangs mid-air when he chooses to rub his pelvis up and down against your puffy clit instead. You moan loudly, eyes rolling to the back of your skull -- you actually think you saw some really bright stars back there and he buries his head into your neck, sucking and biting on the skin until it turns into a pretty shade of purple.
Rindou will never give you a moment where you feel the need to make him keep going. He knows you and your body far too well at this point to tease you; he just loves spoiling you so much. And so he makes love to you with fever and moves his hips just the way you like it. Your face scrunches up at the immense pleasure on your abdomen and your walls clamp around his dick hard.
You're cumming soon.
"Tell me . . ." Rindou hisses when you arch your back just right and he hits even deeper now. His pretty tip grazes at your sensitive spot and you mewl so sweetly into his ear he swears his balls are tightening at the sound.
He wants nothing more for you to let everything go; to feel your sweet, thick nectar coat around his veiny length as he fucks it back into your warm pussy when it leaks out.
"W-What?" You peer up at him through clouded, lustful eyes and Rindou licks at your lips before kissing them with fire in his heart -- you're the sole reason it ever lights up and you're also the one who is there to soothe it away when the flame gets too big and hot and it starts burning down the things around him.
Rindou feels his own high coming and proceeds to pull up your pliant arms and wrap them around his neck. He needs all of you. He wants all of you. He wants to become one with you. And you immediately latch on to him and whimper when you feel his warmth radiate against your body, chest to chest and face to face. It is summer and the hottest month of the season but you do not care -- Rindou's warmth is nothing like the stinging burn from the Sun and the Earth when it meets your skin. It is everything that is made out of love and it's comfortable and lovely and you can always feel it deep in your veins.
"Tell me you want the world," Rindou pants against your chin, pupils all blown out from the high amounts of chemical running through his brain and you bite down on your lip to hold in your gasps. He fucks you so well you think you might be losing it any second now.
But he simply pushes a thumb down on your bottom lip, releasing it from the bite of your teeth to keep it open for him and your noises starts echoing in the bedroom. It is loud and pretty and he wants nothing more than to grab his phone off the nightstand and put it on voice recording -- maybe he'll turn it into his new producer tag, but at the same time he doesn't want other people hearing you like this because he is selfish and he wants you all to himself.
Rindou's pace is fast but it is also gentle and soft when he thrusts his dick in and his tip doesn't stop abusing your spot. You moan and moan and moan.
Anytime now.
"Tell me you want the world. Anything. Everything. And I'll give it to you. Don't even gotta ask, baby. Jus' tell me." Rindou begs through broken stutters. He babbles it straight into your mouth. He speaks it to your flaming heart, to your ardent soul. You swallow his love and everything he has to give you. Your tongues meet and he kisses your lips sweet after.
You roll your eyes back, seeing nothing but clean white and you bury your head back deeper into the soft beneath. It is silk and fluffy and everything that is comfort. He's made sure to fluff it up right before you plopped down on it -- he doesn't want your neck to ache painfully after.
And you are so lovely in his eyes when your swollen lips part and his name -- the two syllables of a flower which symbolises affection and everlasting love that his mother named him after -- escapes your mouth in a soft voice.
You cum hard as you say it, head tilted back and your neck exposes his masterpiece. His lips, the brush and his love, the artist.
"Rindou . . . Jus' want you, baby."
Te deseo, cariño, boy, it's you I desire.
Fat tears escape and rolls down to the pillow as you lay all open for him to admire.
"Want nothin' but you."
Your love, your love, your love.
Your thighs tremble as your juices spray all over his abdomen and Rindou moans loudly into your mouth as he continues slapping his thick cock into your warm pussy.
He melts into you.
"I'm all yours, baby."
You become one together.
". . . All yours."
And he paints your gummy walls white.
Wet, squelching noises sounds through your tiny bedroom and he doesn't stop moving despite the intense overstimulation of your sex. You break into many tears and sob loudly as he shoves the mixture of your nectar and his pollen back into your pretty, gooey pussy with deep and long thrusts and he cups your face all the while. He swipes a calloused thumb across your wet, rosy cheek and you sigh when you can finally think straight again.
"Love you so much . . ." He admires your face and Rindou keeps his dick snug in your pussy. He twitches and you spasm -- it's like they're talking to each other as well.
"Love you the most, pretty girl." He kisses your forehead sweetly and you sniffle while trying to catch your breath.
"Fuck, I'll die for you."
You smile through tears, the apple of your cheeks rising with your happiness and his mouth moves up to bite a little on it.
Rindou would actually die for you and you know that. He's said it to you many times, but he never likes it when you say you'd do the same for him too. "No, you can't do that." "If you can do that then I can too."
"I'll die for you, baby."
And he kisses your salty tears away. He wipes the sweat off your forehead. He kisses on your fluttery eyelids softly.
Two of you at 25, bad with words yet harbouring so much love and affection for each other that you don't know what to do with so you spend it on each other's bodies at every given chance. And the thing is, it never runs out -- your love for him is infinite and his love for you is boundless. And you'll keep on telling each other again and again until it stops and there is no more love to spend on each other anymore.
But you figure it is impossible. You don't think you will ever stop loving him in this lifetime or the next. There can only be Rindou and your love for Rindou and there can only be you and his love for you in both your worlds.
Soft, gentle kisses are scattered all over your bodies as you lay in bed together that evening, fixing each other up and whispering eternal promises in each other's ear. You hold him tight as you both regain your senses and he puffs a warm breath onto your cheek. It smells of sweet strawberry from the bowl he had earlier and you grin and press your cheek to his, relishing in your love and his love and everything that the two of you are and have created in this tranquility.
"I'll marry you." He murmurs. "My pretty girl." He praises. "I love you." He confesses. You blush at all three and turn to bury your head in the crook of his neck. You inhale his scent and although he is so sticky and sweaty you still love him so much.
While he is slowly dozing off at the comfortable feeling of you rubbing and massaging at his sore back, a scene from a few days ago plays in his head.
Rindou ran into an old friend -- Hanagaki Takemichi -- the other day at the store and the two men shared a drink in an izakaya later on. He hasn't seen the blonde boy for a very long time and realise he has changed a lot now -- no longer the weak and crybaby he was back then. And despite being a few years younger than Rindou, he is already the father of a 7 month-old baby who is sitting on his lap and munching on a piece of mango seed her father picked from a Tupperware.
"She's teething now, excuse the mess." Takemichi grins, holding the fruit to her mouth as she chews on it messily and Rindou smiles softly at the sight. He shakes his head, telling him he doesn't mind -- "let babies be babies" -- while observing her little features. "Looks a lot like her mother." He nods at her tiny figure and Takemichi laughs loudly. "Yeah, right? Hina is so happy about that."
Rindou bring his glass up to his mouth with a lopsided smile and Takemichi suddenly remembers when he looks at the older man's fingers.
It's not there.
"How old are you, Rindou-kun?" He asks curiously and the said man downs his drink in one go. "25." Rindou hisses at the strong taste and licks off the excess on his lips.
"That's 3 more years, then."
Rindou is confused now. He raises a brow while picking up a steaming hot dumpling and shoves it into his mouth.
"3 more years? To what?" He asks while chewing on his food and Takemichi's eyes turn into thin crescents.
"Your wedding."
Rindou is aware that Hanagaki Takemichi is no ordinary man. He's someone who's saved countless of lives with his ability and has never once backed down from his goal; be it by fear or all of the horrors he's witnessed in all the different timelines, Takemichi has never once let himself be swayed and intimidated by it. He is a determined man and a hero. He is a saviour. And after finding out about it during their very last Toman meeting many years ago, Rindou only harbours nothing but pure respect for the man sitting before him.
"I've seen her, you know," Takemichi sighs with a wide smile while refilling his and Rindou's cup with saké. "Your girlfriend." He looks into Rindou's eyes and chuckles a little at his puzzled expression. Little Hina yelps in his lap and her father is quick to hush her down with soft pats to her head.
Rindou's heart thumps at the mention of you.
"What about her?"
"I've been to so many different timelines, yeah? And I see you in every single one. You're either a civilian, a criminal or a rich man in all. And you know that, I've told you before last time. But what I never told you is that . . . I've also seen her too, heh. Even in the Bonten timeline."
Rindou's flushes at that. He doesn't like it when someone mentions the Bonten timeline because in it contains the very version of himself that he never wants to become. He can't stomach the thought of hurting someone to the point of no return. Sure, he's beaten many people up when he was younger and have done some illegal things. But murder? Drug trafficking? Prostitution? And everything else that is illegal in the book? He doesn't think he is capable of doing them. So with him being in Japan's most feared criminal organisation? And you're there as well? What does that even mean? And his wedding in 3 years? What?
Takemichi's eyes flickers again at Rindou's very empty fingers. He burns holes into them and Rindou shyly retracts his hands away from the wooden table and rests them on his lap. He starts picking the skin around his thumb as he looks at Takemichi who is busy pondering his thoughts.
"You have a silver ring that has the design of bellflowers engraved on it, don't you? Your mother gave it to you when you were young."
Rindou's eyes widened at his abrupt yet very true question and he sits up straight, knee banging the other vacant chair at their table and he apologises to the startled lady beside.
"How'd you know?" He asks with no hesitation, albeit a little curt and Takemichi ignores it.
"Did you give it to her?" He nods hesitantly, eyes not looking away from the man's. He needs to know how he knows; he doesn't recall telling anyone about it. Only you, Ran and his parents knows about the ring.
Rindou slipped it on to your finger one night in bed some time ago when you both got into a fight. It was his way of apologising -- the ring that he treasures so, so much and he thinks it is only fitting that he gives it to the person he loves the most (though she is upset with him). You are his life and death and everything in between and he tells you just that when you cry and say it hurt when he yelled at you. He says he is so sorry and kisses you so sweetly after that you don't even remember the point of your argument anymore.
Takemichi laughs.
"That ring . . . It's on her finger every time I go into the future or back to the past. Even in the Bonten one. I saw it when she pointed a gun at my head. Good God. She's with you in every single timeline, Rindou-kun."
All the worries in Rindou's brain vanishes in an instant. Whatever doubt or confusion he had earlier floating around? They are all gone with the wind. He grins and giddily swirls the drink in his glass, giggling like a fool while Takemichi rocks his bubbly daughter on his lap.
"I was invited to your wedding once and I saw the two of you together." The blonde recalls seeing your arm hooped around Rindou's as he walks with you down the aisle. Petals are scattered all over you two and you were smiling so brightly. He tells Rindou all about it and the older man listens intently with love in his eyes. "You get married at 28 in every timeline. Did you make any promises with her about 28?"
Rindou remembers and suddenly it all makes sense now. He nods and hides his blushy face in his arm. "My pretty girl once told me 28 feels like a good age to do many things. Dunno, she's weird like that." He laughs and his phone vibrates next to his hand. The screen lights up and it's a text message from someone irrelevant but his eyes focuses on the wallpaper of you munching on a mouthful of rice. You look like a squirrel in it and Rindou finds himself falling in love all over again. (He does that every day. No big deal.)
"Waaah," Takemichi exclaims with a fond smile. "Not a single timeline where the two of you don't end up together, huh?"
He simply smiles at Takemichi's words.
And your voice is quiet when you nose at his cheek in bed.
"This is so dumb but like, you know how Spiderman has like, the multiverse and there's always a same thing that happens every time in every universe and it is your fate, right? Is it a canon event? I dunno what's it called." You're not an avid watcher of Spiderman but you know Rindou is. And there's something really important that you really want him to know right now. But you don't know how to put it into a normal sentence and a normal example. You're bad with words. You hope he understands you.
"Yeah." He murmurs sleepily into your neck.
"Well, can I call us a canon event, then? If the multiverse is real, I'm sure we're together in every single one . . . I really hope it is that way, Rin. I dunno what I'd be without you." You kiss his cheek. You feel vulnerable and silly and hot tears spring to your waterline.
I hope you got my message.
↻ loading . . .
Yeah, kinda stupid, but I got it.
He smirks and wraps his arms tighter around your frame, trying to tell you that it's okay, because he wouldn't know what he'd be without you either. And he guess he'll indulge you for a bit.
"We already are, baby."
Tumblr media
drops this n runs off to study for my test tomorrow

synopsis: in which ran convinces you to tone down on wanting rindou's attention
warnings: none!
wc: 2.02k
note/s: this was so fun to write i wanna write more (i probably will)
Tumblr media
“good morning, rindou!” you cheerily greeted as the younger haitani walks by you, he gives you a side glance before facing front and walking away from you, not even saying anything.
the smile on your face drops as you look at the writings engraved on his retreating back.
“you good there, (y/n)?” you jolt once you hear kakucho’s deep voice say from beside you.
“huh? oh. yeah.” you agree absentmindedly, walking over to where rindou was headed. you hear kakucho sigh from behind you but you paid no mind as you tapped rindou on his shoulder.
“what do you want?” rindou turns his head to face you, a glare on his face as he raises his brow at you. if you were anyone else, you would’ve cowered under his gaze but you weren’t scared of the younger haitani. you don’t think you’d ever be.
“do you… do you wanna get lunch with me today?” you say quietly, feeling a bit embarrassed over the eyes of his underlings and the smirk of his older brother as they listened in to your conversation.
you looked straight into rindou’s gaze, awaiting for his answer but it didn’t seem like you were the only one waiting as you could feel all eyes on you and rindou.
you felt your heart drop a little as rindou rolls his eyes.
“pass. i have plans with nii-san.” from the corner of your eye, you can see ran raising a brow at his younger brother’s reasoning, seeing as they had nothing planned for the day– but you didn’t know that. your heart dropped at the rejection yet you gave him a small smile and said that you understood.
“well, maybe another time, then.” you say before turning on your heel and leaving the area, not wanting to embarrass yourself further.
Tumblr media
a sigh leaves your lips as you sit down on the grass, recalling the events prior, a wince leaves your lips as you shut your eyes in cringe.
“trouble in paradise?” your eyes open as you see the older haitani sitting further up on the small hill.
“eh? ran?” “that’s the name, sweetheart, don’t wear it out.” ran playfully winks at you and lets out a laugh as you roll your eyes at him.
“i thought you and rindou had things to do?” you asked, ran shakes his head as he lies down on the grass.
“nope, i’m not in the mood to cover his ass today.”
“so he lied?” “yep.” you looked down, feeling a bit sad at the revelation and it didn’t help on how nonchalant ran was being.
“he could’ve rejected me like a normal person, am i that repulsive to be around with, haha.” ran clicked his tongue at your self-deprecation.
“on the contrary, i would say my brother likes you.” you whip your head to where the older haitani was lying down and give him an unimpressed stare.
“i don’t think you know how to read the room but obviously i’m not in the mood for jokes, ran.”
ran chuckles as he sat up. “oh i’m not joking. you should’ve seen how red my otouto went when you left.”
“then why does it seem like he doesn’t like me?” “he’s just emotionally constipated.” ran laughs off your concern.
“do you want him to want your attention?” ran asks as he sat up, a smirk on his face.
“i’m not interested in playing your games, ran.” “don’t worry. you won’t be doing anything, literally.”
now you were curious.
“what do you mean by that?” ran’s smirk widens at your inquisitive tone before it turns into a full on mischievous grin.
“do you trust me on this, (y/n).” “no.” “oka– hey! come on, i’m not that bad.” ran whines and you couldn’t help but let out a short laugh before relenting.
“fine, i trust you… somewhat.” ran pretends to not hear the last bit before he clicks his tongue teasingly once more.
“it’s simple. ignore him.”
“and here i thought you’d actually give me a decent idea.” “hey! you didn’t let me explain yet.”
“fine. go on.” “you want to get rindou’s attention right? play hard to get, see how he comes running after you. trust me on this.”
“and you’re sure about this because…?”
ran sighs.
“just trust me on this. ignore him and see what happens.”
Tumblr media
rindou couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. he ate breakfast, had a full eight–well eleven hour sleep, won the fights his gang was involved in so why does he feel incomplete?
“good morning, everyone.” you greet as you enter the warehouse, ah. that’s why. rindou thinks. you haven’t greeted him good morning yet.
he watches with secret glances as you walk towards his direction, he puffs out his chest just a bit and awaits your greeting.
but it didn’t come.
rindou hides his confusion with a blank look as you walk past him with a neutral face, not even acknowledging that he was there before your face breaks out into a smile.
“kakucho, hey, good morning!” your back was turned on him and rindou couldn’t help but stare daggers at his colleague because that good morning was supposed to be for him.
his brows furrow at the uncharacteristic behavior you showed but didn’t speak up about it, you probably didn’t see him. it’s fine, you’ll probably ask him out to lunch again later.
“why are you looking so gloomy, otouto?” ran slides right beside him as he sat by the container terminals. rindou remained silent, and you could practically feel his burning stare from the back of your head but you paid him no mind, not even glancing behind even though you really wanted to see the expression on his face.
“ah?” rindou, once again ignores ran’s teasing tone. “i get it. your lil crush hasn’t greeted you good morning yet.”
rindou clicks his tongue, shoving his brother’s shoulder. “fuck off.” he says as he stands up and walks away, trying to busy himself, trying to not make it obvious that he’s waiting for you.
ran bites back a laugh the entire day, he swears if laughter was tangible, he would be able to fill up a jar– maybe two, due to the way rindou was acting.
if you weren’t in the vicinity, rindou would take it easy, barking out orders to the other members of tenjiku, not wanting to move his ass. but if you were even in his peripherals, best believe that rindou would be flexing how strong he was and how much work he’s done.
yet still, nothing.
you did not spare him a glance at all, not that he cared, why would he? that’s ridiculous. why would he bother caring that you didn’t greet him a good morning, it shouldn’t matter because in a few minutes, you’ll be asking him out to lunch and he’d maybe agree… after a bit of persuasion, of course. everything is fine.
he’s fine.
until a few days later passed and you still didn't bother glancing at him. it was like he didn’t exist in your orbit anymore and no amount of subtle flexing, glances or short amount of words exchanged could fix that.
rindou hates feeling this way.
but what can he do? you weren’t his— even if he thinks otherwise. he had no idea how to make things right because is this the punishment he gets for trying to play the mouse game? for making you chase him? if so, he wants to injure himself the way he injures the other gang members if they don’t act right.
he hates that he took your attention for granted because all he wants now is for you to even glance at his general direction and give him your stupidly annoyingly cute smile.
“hey shion, do you wanna get lunch with me?”
he was not fine.
you didn’t even get to hear shion’s reply before you feel yourself getting whisked away by a strong hand.
you let out an eek! as you were forced to your feet, both you and shion looking confused, you can hear ran let out a laugh as if what he was witnessing was the funniest thing ever.
finally, you looked in front and saw the back of rindou’s iconic blonde and blue hair.
“rindou?” the aforementioned did not say anything, only pulling you out of the warehouse.
“what’s up with you?” you try asking, but he still says nothing.
not liking the lack of interactions, you pull your hand away from his and stop in your tracks, causing him to stop as well.
“where are you taking me?” you asked, rindou looks at you with a blank expression, he says nothing, trying to take your hand once more but you don’t let him. “where?” you ask again.
“lunch.” rindou replies. you tilt your head to the side, confused. “i was about to have lunch with shion. you should have joined us.” rindou clicked his tongue in response, brows furrowing at the thought of having to share your attention with shion of all people.
you knew what you were doing, you should know what you were doing because rindou would never act out like this.
he doesn’t even know if he’s feeling jealousy, possessiveness or longing… or all three.
“rindou?” you snapped him out of his thoughts, pressing him on about how the two of you should head back and invite the other tenjiku members to lunch with the both of you.
“no.” he cuts off your rambling. fuck kakucho, fuck shion, fuck tenjiku. this is his time with you. no other tenjiku member should interfere.
“no?” you parrot back, not understanding why he’s acting like a petulant brat.
“no.” he confirms. “i don’t want anyone else to come to lunch with us.” you blinked in confusion.
“eh? why?” rindou thinks you’re doing this on purpose. you have to be.
“just… eat lunch with me.” “you’re acting weird, rindou.”
the thread to rindou’s sanity snapped.
“no. you’re being weird! you’re so… you–”  rindou began spluttering. “you began ignoring me for a week for no reason and i didn’t know what else to do! i… fuck. why did you even stop talking to me?” rindou rants, not even giving you time to answer his questions.
“why does it even matter?” you ask in the middle of his ranting. rindou looks at you as if you were dumb, as if he couldn’t believe that you even asked that.
“because i like you, you dumbass!” the both of you stood in silence as you processed rindou’s words.
god you can’t believe ran’s advice actually worked. maybe you’ll get him a mont blanc in thanks.
rindou’s face was bright red, from his frustration or from the fact he confessed. you don’t know. you purse your lips, trying to keep the smile that was threatening to make an entrance.
“you’re so cute, rin.” you say, and you swear, you can see rindou’s cheeks turn a darker shade of red.
“shut up. pretend you didn’t hear anything.” rindou says as he turns on his heel. “you can go back to the warehouse, i’ll have lunch by myself.”
“no, rindou, wait–” you reach for his hand, pulling him back to you as you give him a smile.
the stupidly annoyingly cute smile that he missed.
“i like you, too.” rindou’s heart felt like it was going to leap out of his chest because what the fuck. he was not expecting that. at the very most, he’d expect to just never show his face whenever you were around but this was turning out way better than he expected.
he was so caught up in his thoughts that he almost didn’t feel the pair of soft lips that stamped against his cheek. he felt himself freeze for a second before his hands automatically grabbed at your waist, his eyes closing as he pulls you close.
you pull away with a smile on your face and rindou swears his face feels like he’s running a fever by how warm it is.
“so, lunch?” you ask, intertwining his hands with yours and pulling him into the direction where various diners lay.
“s-sure.” god he hates the way his voice just cracked, but unbeknownst to him, you found it quite endearing.
if you knew ignoring him would make him confess, you would’ve done it sooner.

(part 1 here! it's not required for reading this piece, but they are connected, so it'll make more sense if you read the first part first!)
The door to the sewing club slides open with a loud BANG!
“Yo.” A tall, intimidating guy with blond, braided hair strolls in, with all the casualness of someone taking a trip to the convenience store.
You gape wordlessly at him from where you're sitting, still jolted from the lound and sudden bang. Who is this? What does he want?? Has he ever heard of knocking???
“Let’s go eat, Mitsuya, I'm hungry as fu– oh, sorry, didn't see you there.” he strides into the room, pausing when he sees you. You can only blankly nod in response, the movement itself almost pure instinct, brain still running on fight or flight mode.
A light chuckle comes from your right, and you shift your gaze to the lilac haired male sitting next to you. He shoots you a reassuring smile before turning his attention back to the blond, now standing in front of him.
“Gimme a moment, yeah? I'm almost done here.” He motions to the school jacket in his hand. Your school jacket, actually. You accidentally ripped it while you were at school, and Mitsuya insisted on helping you fix it, waving away your voiced worries of taking away his precious lunch time.
He returns to the current task at hand, hands swiftly and fluidly sewing the tear up, masterful after years of practice. Your gaze returns back to the blond guy as he pulls up a chair from one of the nearby tables and plops down across from Mitsuya. They seem familiar with each other, the way both are relaxed in each other’s presence.
“Oh yeah, this is Draken, by the way. The guy I was telling you about.” Mitsuya pauses briefly from his sewing to introduce the new person in the room. You immediately perk up at the familiar name. Well, that clears up a lot of things.
“Draken? The guy with the matching dragon tattoo?” You ask, eyes alight with intrigue. Draken snorts amusedly.
“I see you've heard the story.” He turns his head so you can see the familiar dragon tattoo inked into the left side of his head, the exact mirror of Mitsuya's. Your mouth forms into a little ‘o’ at the sight of it. “This tattoo is mine, by the way. Paid for it and everything.”
Another snort, from Mitsuya this time. “Right, I'm sure you paid for it fair and square.” A smile dances on his lips as he continues sewing, eyes focused.
“Hey, who was the one who ate all my rice first?”
“Um, excuse me…” Your voice turns Draken's attention back to you. “If you don't mind, could I take a closer look at your tattoo?” You shyly ask the blonde male.
His eyebrows raise at the bold request, and you hurriedly add on to your previous question. “It’s just that, I've seen Mitsuya's one before, but I couldn't really get a full view due to his hair covering most of it. It seemed really cool, so…”
The explanation seems to placate him, and he smiles reassuringly, the sight easing some of your nerves. “Yeah, go ahead, knock yourself out.”
You brighten up at that, immediately moving your seat to Draken’s left and wasting no time in studying every detail of the tattoo.
“Woahh…it’s so different seeing it in its entirety! It really is beautiful…”
“Heh, right? I thought it would’ve been such a shame, leaving such a cool design to stay hidden in some dingy alley, so getting it as a tattoo was a no-brainer. Didn’t expect this guy over here to do the same, though.”
“Hahah, you really made the right decision. It fits you really well!”
“Yeah, and it fit with my name too, y’kno? Draken, dragon. Really helps with making a name for yourself.”
“Ooh, that’s a cool detail!”
As you ooh and aah over the inked dragon on Draken’s head, unconsciously shifting closer and closer to him, you don’t notice how Mitsuya pauses in his work, quietly staring at the two of you with an unreadable expression on his face.
“Have you seen the actual mural? It’s way bigger than this tattoo.”
“I haven’t, actually.”
“If you want, I can bring you sometime—”
“[name].” Mitsuya cuts in loudly, both your heads snapping towards him at the sound. He raises the repaired jacket in his hands with a smile that doesn’t really seem to reach his eyes. “The jacket’s done.”
“Oh!” You hop off the stool and gratefully accept the jacket as he walks over to hand it to you, lilac eyes never leaving your figure as you slip your arms through the sleeves, blissfully unaware. “Good as new! Thank you so, so much, Mitsuya.”
His eyes soften at your sincere words, a warm smile naturally finding its way onto his face at your happy expression. “No problem at all, [name].”
“I’ll get going, then. I don’t wanna take up anymore of both of your lunch time.” you say, turning around to leave. You shoot Draken a wave as you walk past. “Bye, Draken! It was nice meeting you; maybe I’ll take you up on that offer to see the mural sometime.”
“You too, [name]. I’ll see you around.”
Mitsuya coughs lightly, and the sound prompts you to continue moving towards the exit. He follows closely behind you, reaching forward to open the door before you can.
“Thank you again, ‘tsuya.” You say once more, turning to him with a bashful grin.
He huffs amusedly. “Like I said, it’s no problem at all. You can come to me anytime if you have any problems.” Your lips curl up even more at that, cheeks tinged with the slightest pink.
“Also,” He lets out another light cough, and you can’t help but take note of the way his ears are tinged red, how he suddenly seems to be avoiding your gaze. “You don’t…have to take Draken up on his offer.” he quietly says, words slowly turning into mumbles, the red from his ears slowly spreading to his cheeks. “I can bring you…if you want. And,” His face is fully red at this point, words so quiet you had to lean in to hear them. “if you want to look at the tattoo up close, you can just look at mine anytime…” he trails off, eyes looking anywhere but you.
You gape at him. This was something you definitely weren’t expecting. Despite your surprise, you can’t stop the giddy smile spreading across your face, giggling as you try to hold back your teasing. He’s already flustered enough; you suppose you’d spare him, just this once.
“Okay then.” You wave at him as you step out, eyes twinkling with mirth. “See you, ‘tsuya!”
Mitsuya watches your figure go until you disappear from his sight, sighing in relief and slight disbelief as he closes the door to the club. He hadn’t really planned on saying that, but the words just… slipped out. Something about the way you looked at him made them bubble up until he couldn’t contain them any longer. At least your reaction was positive.
He turns around, fully prepared to put the whole thing behind him, only to be greeted with a razor-sharp grin. Draken wiggles his eyebrows at him, looking like a cat that just caught its prey.  “So…someone got jealous, huh?”
Mitsuya lets out a suffering groan. “Please. Don’t tell anyone. You didn’t see anything.”
Draken cackles. “Maybe I’ll consider it if you buy me a karubi don.”
He’s so telling everyone.

“Tell me something about yourself that not many people know.”
“What's this?” he asks, voice laced with amusement.
“Just answer me, ‘tsuya.” you grumble, head lolling over the side of the bed you're currently spread out on, peering at his upside down figure. “I'm bored.”
Mitsuya hums thoughtfully, pen tapping against the table absentmindedly. Both your homeworks lay abandoned on his table, you having already given up a long time ago and pestering him to do the same, despite his best efforts to stay focused and finish them.
“I have a dragon tattoo on the side of my head.” he says casually.
“WHAT?????” you leap up from your spread-eagle position to gape at him properly. His lips curl into an impish grin at your reaction, the sight sending butterflies flying through your stomach. You swat them away in favour of focusing on the more pressing matter at hand.
“Yeah.” His hand comes up to tap at the right side of his head. “Right here.”
You scramble off the bed, nearly tripping over yourself as you rush to his side. “Whaaat the fuck. You're the last person I'd expect to ever have a tattoo.” you say as you pull up your chair next to him, plopping down on it.
He huffs in amusement. “I am in a gang, y'know.”
“I know, but you're like, more well behaved compared to them.” You pause, peering at his face suspiciously. “...right?”
A mischievous smile is all you get in response.
Rolling your eyes, you turn your attention back to the side of his head, peering closely at the short lilac hair, trying to catch a glimpse of the tattoo. You can't see anything, though, due to all the hair fully covering it.
“Can I…?” you raise your hand hesitantly. He nods, grabbing your wrist and bringing it to where the tattoo supposedly lies, the warm touch sending sparks flying through your skin.
Carefully, your fingers gently part his hair to reveal the scalp below. The slight shiver as your fingers make contact with his head doesn't go unnoticed by you, although none of you say a word.
And there, under the lilac strands, you catch glimpses of furling strands of black ink, coiling and curling into something resembling—
“A dragon?” you murmur.
Mitsuya hums. “Mhm. I designed it myself. Cool, huh?” You can hear the pride in his voice.
You snort, not wanting to give him the satisfaction. “I suppose.” Following the strands of ink, you trace down the side of his scalp, mesmerized by the intricate design. Despite your seemingly unimpressed response, you found the tattoo really beautiful, the art style unique and artistic, the way it curves along the side of Mitsuya's head so naturally you wouldn't be surprised if he said he was born with it. Lost in your concentration, you don't notice Mitsuya's slowly reddening cheeks, closing his eyes as his head subconsciously leans into your gentle touch.
The two of you stay like that for a while, in comfortable silence, him enjoying your ministrations, you too absorbed in admiring every detail of the tattoo to notice.
Until you trace the final curl of the dragon's tail, the trail ending making you snap out of whatever trance you were in, face immediately flushing a deep red as you realized you probably spent way more time touching him than you should've. Your hand instantly jolts back from his head as if it touched hot iron. At the loss of your touch, Mitsuya's eyes slowly fluttered open, gazing lazily at you, the sight once again sending some weird, hot feeling shooting through you. Damn this man and his stupidly pretty face.
You clear your throat, trying to act natural. “Why have a tattoo when you can't even see it under all that hair, though?”
That question catches him off guard, and he barks out a laugh. “There's a funny story behind it, actually.”
He goes on to tell you the story of how he got the tattoo, from meeting this boy called Draken, to playing games at the brothel, to deciding to become a delinquent and accidentally matching tattoos with Draken. Your jaw dropped more and more as the story progressed, mostly from how unexpected and wild the entire thing was.
“Damn.” you laugh when he finishes. “And here I thought you were this good, well-behaved child who got roped into the gang business by their friends. I mean, abandoning your sisters to graffiti a wall?” you shake your head in mock disapproval. “What a bad child you are.”
His lips stretch into a sly grin, something dangerous glinting in his eyes. “Oh? Really, [name], you should've known by now.”
He leans forward until his lips are right by your ear, voice coming out in a teasing whisper.
“I can get quite naughty sometimes.”
...
You're quite certain your face is in flames.
You sit there, short-circuiting, as Mitsuya leans back into his chair, a self-satisfied smirk on his face. Fumbling, you glance around desperately from something that will save you, and your eyes land on the abandoned exercise books on the table, the whole reason you were at Mitsuya's house in the first place.
“Oh! Would you look at that! Our homework! That we still have to finish!” You pull your chair back to the other side of the table hurriedly and bury your face in the books, your homework suddenly being the most interesting thing in the world. You hear him chuckle, but he doesn't say anything, picking up his pen and continuing with his work. Your heart finally stops racing, and you think that you're safe until—
“[name]?”
“Hm?”
“I enjoyed that very much. Feel free to do it again if you want~”
“...”
This boy is going to be the death of you.

THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 5TH. 2013.
"I'm looking for a job."
"Thanks, but no."
"I’ve seen the sign you have at the entrance and the job offer on LinkedIn."
"No."
The young man's eyes never leave the car magazine he's leafing through disinterestedly throughout the entire conversation. A pen is gracefully held behind his ear, and a grease stain adorns his pale cheek.
"Can I at least talk to your boss?" You put your hands on your hips. The man lets out a deep sigh before forcefully closing the magazine's pages. He raises his gaze to meet your eyes and forces the most insincere smile he can muster. In his green pupils, there's nothing but annoyance.
"Of course."
With heavy movements, he takes two steps with his long legs and elegantly opens the flip phone on the counter. After a few moments of awkward silence, another phone rings in the room. You search for the object producing the sound. When the phone's beep stops, a toilet flushes. The small wooden door behind the counter swings wide open, revealing a massive figure zipping up his pants.
"Seishu, damn it, you don't even let me go to the bathroom," The blonde man laughs, sarcastic, before returning to his serious expression. "Sorry, boss." He shrugs, raising his thumb and pointing at your figure, standing in front of him. "This girl here says she's looking for a job."
You look the sturdy man up and down who stands before you. You swallow hard as you examine the tattoos that decorate the side of his head.
Draken raises an eyebrow, looking at Inui, who leans on his arms at the counter, amusedly watching the scene. The tall young man with the tattooed skull returns the girl's gaze before extending his hand.
"I'm Ryuguji Ken," shaking his hand back, you pronounce your own name. "So you're here for the job offer... Do you know anything about motorcycles?"
"Not exactly. My father was a big enthusiast. But I learn quickly and make good coffee."
Inui continues to look at you with a poker face. Did you really come to apply for a job at a motorcycle shop without knowing anything about the subject? What's next, studying international relations and trying to build a bridge?
"Oh, I see," Draken says, touching his chin with two fingers, looking thoughtfully at the ceiling. "You're young, pretty, and you seem nice. You might attract some customers and be of help to us. You're hired. You start tomorrow."
"What?"
"Yes!" Your exclamation only emphasizes the vein that protrudes on the blonde man's pale forehead.
Inui looks at Draken in disbelief.
"How is she supposed to help in the workshop if she knows nothing about motorcycles, Draken?"
"I put up the sign at the entrance because I needed someone at the counter, not to have another mechanic," Seishu tightens his lips and closes his eyelids. "Besides, if she needs help, you're always here in case something comes up, Inupi. It'll do you good to have some company to improve your social skills."
The tension in the room thickens as Inui grudgingly accepts Draken's decision, though he remains skeptical about the new addition to their team. With a deep sigh, he shifts his attention back to the tools in his toolbox, muttering something under his breath.
On the other hand, you do your best to conceal your excitement and nerves. You are determined to prove your worth, despite your limited knowledge of motorcycles. In truth, you don't care much about the specifics of the job; it's all about paying the bills for your apartment. Even though your mom insists on helping, it's too much for her. Several cafes rejected your job applications due to your refusal to accept exploitation or wear specific uniforms. That's why having a job just 20 minutes away from your house, with a consistent schedule and no split work shifts, feels like a great opportunity.
You are more than ready to embrace this new chapter in your life at D&D MOTORS, at least for the next few months until you earn your degree and sort out some other aspects of your life.
The one who isn't willing to embrace the concept of working with someone else is Inui Seishu. As you stand there, happily texting your mom about the new job, you can't shake the feeling that there's more to him than meets the eye.
THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 23TH. 2013.
Inui Seishu is the typical man who hates Twilight. You haven't asked him, but you know it. It's not like you have the opportunity to exchange more than two words with him. Every time you try to ask him something, you get a 'uh-huh' or a 'look it up on the computer' as a response. The only moments when you have more chances to talk to him are when you make a mistake in naming a part of the order or point something out. Then, Inui's sermons, as cold and abrupt as he is, echo off the walls of the shop. Later, Draken arrives to tell you it's not a big deal and gives you a pat on the back.
Even though you have only been here for two weeks, you have already gotten used to the penetrating smell of burnt oil and gasoline at D&D MOTORS. Your mother isn't exactly thrilled about you working in such an environment, especially with the rise of gangs in Tokyo, but she can't complain much if that job helps you pay the rent. Every day you look at the calendar, hoping to get to the final exams of your degree and say goodbye to Tokyo to return to your hometown.
“My co-workers are not dangerous, Mom, I promise. I have to go in. Love you,” you close your phone and open the heavy glass doors of the shop.
Draken is looking at the day's schedule, and Inui is starting to set up his toolbox next to the radio he uses to play some music during work time. The doorbell rings when you enter, catching Draken's and Inui's attention.
“Good morning. You are a bit late today. Everything okay on the way here?” Draken comments as he continues to write things in the notebook. A few days ago, you mentioned that you don't live in a good area of the city, but it's what you can afford. Inui, at his boss's words, lifts his gaze and finally greets you with a nod. His expression remains as serious as ever.
“Hello,” you reply with a smile, trying to appear as relaxed as possible. “Yes, my mother called, and I couldn’t hang up sooner. Sorry,” you make a slight bow. Draken laughs lightly.
“No worries, woman. I arrived a couple of minutes ago. Inui is always the first to arrive.”
“I just like to get up early,” the blonde says without much emotion.
Draken approaches you, leaving the counter.
“Today, we have a couple of customers waiting for us to take a look at their bikes. You know how it works. Inui inspects, and you write down what he tells you, understood? I have to handle several orders, so I'll be at the counter for today.”
“Understood,” you nod as you hang your coat on the rack. You are determined to show that you can be a valuable worker. Draken pats your shoulder before turning to Inui.
“Inui, you know the drill. Today, you're in charge of the initial inspection. I trust you'll do a good job with Eiichiro. He really likes your way of working.'” Inui nods without saying a word.
Both of them go to their respective tasks, and you prepare to assist your colleague in the inspection.
The discomfort in the air is palpable. You can't quite understand what part of your personality Inui finds displeasing. But you are at work to work, not to make friends, so you have to swallow your colleague's attitude without complaint. After all, the pay is generous, you don't have split shifts, and Ryuguji (or Draken, as he has asked you to call him on the third day) is a great guy.
When the first customer arrives, you watch carefully the meticulousness and attention to detail with which Inui works. It's evident that he has outstanding technical skills. You begin to take notes of his observations, trying to learn as much as possible.
You can't help but be acutely aware of the silence that envelops the workshop. The client goes away to run some errands while the revision is being done, and Draken is nowhere to be seen. Inui's work seems almost unnaturally quiet except for the occasional sound of 'hum' or 'pass me the screwdriver,' amplifying the awkwardness of the situation." . Every move appears as if it's part of a silent ballet. He almost looks bored, if it weren't for the light reflecting in his eyes. Eyes that look at you from time to time discreetly, as if waiting for you to make a mistake. You almost feel like a child waiting to be grounded. The absence of chatter or the usual workshop sounds adds to the discomfort, making you feel like an intruder in this world of expertise.
With a notepad in hand, you begin to take notes of your observations, the sound of the pen scratching against the paper echoing in the quiet space. You have already familiarized yourself with the brake locations and even sketched a few diagrams detailing the engine parts. But in the hushed environment, you can't shake the feeling of unease, like an outsider trying to blend into a world where silence reigns, and every movement holds a weighty significance.
Whenever you think you have identified a possible issue, your eyes meet Inui's unwavering gaze. Although he doesn't speak a word, his discreet look seems to silently pass judgment on you. After a few minutes of inspection, you cautiously venture to ask a question. "Could it be an issue with the engine's synchronization?" you ask. Inui nods slightly, but his expression remains unflinching. Soon, he redirects his attention back to the motorcycle.
You decide to delve deeper into your theory. "Perhaps it’s a blocked exhaust valve," you mention, tilting your head, hoping for a response or a sign of confirmation. Once again, Inui nods with a minimal gesture, without saying a word. He stands up while removing his gloves and shakes them against his pants. You close your eyes as you watch him smear grease on the fabric. That stain won't come off easily, not even completely.
As if he was a mind reader, Inui speaks for the first time in ten minutes. "I don't come to the workshop to stay clean. The dirtier my uniform is, the harder I've worked in a day," he says. You nod at his words, although you don't entirely agree with his statement.
"Oh, of course, it makes sense,". It doesn't make much sense, but who are you to contradict someone who seems to have no thoughts behind their gaze?
Back when you still lived with your mother and came home after a night out, you tried to make as little noise as possible to avoid disturbing her. In those moments, you felt the same way, measuring your words and avoiding causing any disruption. The lack of conversation and the absence of the usual workshop sounds only make the situation more uncomfortable.
Tearing the page where you’ve been taking notes from the notebook, you leave it on the seat of the inspected motorcycle, and then follow Inui through the workshop. Appearing submissive is something you hate; but working with someone who makes you feel like a burden with every step is even worse.
“Hey, Inui”
“Uh-uhm.”
“Am I bothering you?”
“Right now? Not much.” Inui grabs a denim jacket from the rack and drapes it over his shoulders. Draken looks at him from the counter, raising an eyebrow. ” I need to step out for a moment.” You watch how he touches the pocket of his jacket, probably making sure he has the pack of cigarettes he always carries around “I  won't be out long. If Eiichiro comes back, you take care of it.” Nodding towards you, Inui proceeds to leave the premises. It has started drizzling not long ago.
You follow his figure with your gaze, observing how his hair sways gracefully with each step his military boots take.
“This guy... “ Draken's voice breaks the silence with a comment that is more for himself than for you.
“He's peculiar. “ you add.
“He's really damn weird.” Both of you laugh at his comment “But he's a very good person and a great friend. He didn't have an easy adolescence when it comes to making friends.” As he pronounces the last word, he gestures with his hands as if making quotation marks. “Give him time, you'll get along well.”
The conversation with Draken continued for a few more minutes. The rain began to intensify. Eiichiro should have arrived a while ago, and Inui hadn't arrived either.
"Inupi didn't have an umbrella, did he?" Draken asks. You shake your head. "Here, take one for him. He's probably in the alley on the other street, having a smoke, and he can't come out in this downpour. I'd go, but I'm waiting for a call. If Eiichiro comes, I'll let him know to wait for a moment."
Taking the umbrella that Draken hands you and another for yourself from the umbrella stand, you nod and start walking to the location. It must be a frequent spot for him to know where he is with such assurance.
As you approach the alley, you hear hushed whispers beneath the sound of falling raindrops. Suddenly, laughter fills the air. You clutch the umbrella you're holding tightly and press the other one close to your chest.
"Inui, I brought you an—"
The words you were about to speak are left unspoken. The scene unfolding before your eyes is hard to comprehend. Seishu's back is visible in the darkness of the alley, but the hands gripping his scalp and exploring his back under his jacket are unmistakable.
When you were taking a step back to return the way you came, both figures become aware of the sound and turn around. Seishu raises his eyebrows, and your gaze instinctively goes to his swollen lips. In an instant, you cast a glance at his companion. You couldn't see his features clearly, but slanted eyes and white hair greet you in the darkness.
"...umbrella. Return carefully."
Dropping the umbrella to the ground, you run back to the workshop. Embarrassment starts to course through your body, and your cheeks begin to burn. Suddenly, laughter begins to bubble up, and when you arrive at the workshop, you close the door and bend over your stomach, laughing.
Draken is just finishing his call when he sees you walk in the door. Hearing your laughter, a smile spreads across his face. The redness doesn't leave your cheeks, just like the feeling of embarrassment that penetrates your mind.
"He..." You still haven't caught your breath enough to articulate a word properly. "He was..." Opening your mouth to laugh again, you raise your hands to start clapping your fingers together, mimicking two people kissing.
Your boss laughs again.
"Oh, so you've met Kokonoi."
Approaching the counter to pick up your water bottle and take a sip, you heard the door beginning to open.
"Now," your coworker's voice made you jump, "now you're really bothering me."
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9TH. 2013.
Inui Seishu's lip balm has the scent of vanilla although his mouth carries the taste of tobacco. Kokonoi loves the former, but he detests the latter. However, whenever he sees Seishu, he doesn't waste much time before capturing his lips, entwining his fingers in his long blonde hair. He is the one who gives him that lip balm; the same one that Akane carries in her school case whenever they go to the library. This brings him closer to understanding what it would be like to kiss her.
But he's sure that Inui Akane wouldn’t have hands as big and calloused. Nor such a broad back. Nor the prominent Adam's apple in his throat. That's why closing his eyes and kissing Seishu is the simplest way to live out his fantasies
"I have a business trip tomorrow. I'm going to Hong Kong for a couple of weeks."
Oh, that's great," Inui replies, his attention still on his phone. The screen congratulates him for completing another Candy Crush level when he presses the lock button. "Are you going with the Haitani brothers?"
"No." Kokonoi's coat costs more than the entire D&D MOTORS shop and the rent of all the buildings in his neighborhood. Seishu watches closely as Hajime adjusts the collar of his shirt, covering any possible marks decorating the smooth skin of his neck. Any mark that brings him thoughts of Seishu; any mark that reminds him that it doesn't belong to Akane." "I'm going alone. I'll leave you money for the taxi and for another shampoo."
"Shampoo?"
"Yes." Turning towards him, Kokonoi approaches his body lying on the bed and grabs a strand of hair.
"I don't like the scent of the one you use. It's too strong."
"Ah." Seishu moves his hand aside to sit up on the bed. He takes his white T-shirt from the end of the bed and starts to get dressed. "Lately, my hair has been falling out quite a bit. Draken told me this one would help, but it's true the scent doesn't suit me much."
"Certainly not." Checking the time once again, Hajime gives a final look to the hotel room before approaching the door. "Goodbye Inupi, take care."
The sound of the closing door echoes within the four walls. A sigh escapes Seishu's lips. The king-size bed, covered with high-quality Egyptian cotton sheets, is too big for one person. Surrounded by fluffy pillows, he sat on the mattress and watched the flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. He could take the opportunity to watch "House of Cars" and entertain himself. He had asked for the day off from Draken, so he wasn't in a hurry to go back anywhere. Although, in his day-to-day life, he never really rushed for anything. He didn't even have to go back anywhere.
He decided to lie back down and rested his forearm against his forehead. The distant sounds of the city served as a lullaby; Koko always chose hotels away from the crowd. He had time to stay in the room until six, and it was only four. He considered taking a nap but opted to check his mobile phone again. He had an unread message from Draken.
"Look at what you're missing out on," he smiled upon seeing the photo that accompanied the text. It's a blurry picture of a plate of Takoyaki and some fingers with silver rings peering in the lower corner of the photograph. You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to know that the low-quality jewelry belonged to you. Tomorrow you would come complaining that your fingers were turning green. He would take the opportunity to call you Hulk, and you would get angry and say, "are you implying that I'm a monster?"
Seishu laughs before locking his phone and closing his eyes, sinking deeper into the tranquil cocoon of the luxurious hotel room. Outside, the city's lights began to twinkle as evening settled in.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4 TH, 2013.
There are good days and bad days. Today was one of the latter kind.
The guy you had been seeing had been leaving your messages on read for three days. It's not like you had grown too attached, but he provided some company outside of friendship. On the other hand, you had continuous arguments with his family for the most absurd reasons. Your roommate thought it was a good idea to finish your cereal box without asking and to constantly bring her boyfriend into the common areas of the house. To top it off, you got your period before leaving home. You felt like a matchstick being dragged across the box, destined to turn into white phosphorus at some point.
When your umbrella wouldn't close at the entrance of D & D MOTORS, and you arrived fifteen minutes late (with wet hair and socks) for your shift, the last thing you wanted to deal with was your coworker's comments.
Draken had to go on a business trip to pick up some parts in Osaka and was going to take the opportunity to see some old friends. Considering the time he spent at work, you were sure he could use some time away. However, this also meant more time with Seishu. And that didn't excite you much. He had been quite irritating lately. You had heard Draken talking about a fight with his boyfriend (or whatever their relationship was). You didn't care much about people's sex lives, except when it directly affected you. Whatever was going on with Inui, he was taking it out on you at work. So the best thing that could happen to him today was to keep quiet until the clock struck six, without sermons, sharp comments, or unnecessary sarcasm.
“Christmas is approaching, have you thought about asking Santa for a watch?”
“What?” The vein on your forehead starts to throb.
“I’m asking you if you've thought about being on time for once. Draken should start deducting hours from your contract.”
When his words meet silence, Inui places the wrench he was holding on the floor. He turns his body to face yours. His green eyes inspect you from head to toe with an indifferent look. Instinctively, you cover your stomach with your hands. Has he noticed that you look more bloated today? Without saying a word, he turns his head and goes back to his business.
“Are you going to start working now?” he asks.
You don't know if it's the stress, the piercing pain in your lower back, or the bad weather. But the tears in your eyes start to burn more and more.
“What have I done to make you treat me like crap?” The words flow from your throat before your brain can process them.”If you want, I can talk to Draken and ask him to switch my shift. But I don't deserve to be treated like this.”
“Like what? Look, I don't understand what's wrong with you today.”
“It's not today, Inui, it's every day” Tears began to roll down your cheeks. Damn it, you didn't want to cry today. At least not in front of anyone. “I don't expect us to be friends, but lately, it seems like you hate me, and I don't want that either.”
Seishu looks puzzled as you bring your hands to your eyes and try to wipe away the tears before they fall from your cheeks. How badly had he behaved? He wasn't the most careful person when speaking; his parents always nudged him when he was opening Christmas presents to make him put on a better face. Words kept coming out of your mouth, but Inui had stopped listening to you a few minutes ago, thinking about the interactions of the past week and measuring the words of what he was going to say next.
“I don't hate you. Not at all. I had a fight with someone important to me, and it affected my behavior. I'm sorry.” Bowing slightly, Inui prays that this will be enough to stop your tears.
“...and you're always so obsessed with me being a few minutes late; are you that obsessed with the time?” Your eyes remain hidden behind your hands, which continue to wipe away the salty drops endlessly pouring from your eyes.
He clicks his tongue and straightens up at the same time. With all the gentleness that his calloused hands allow, he delicately grabs your forearms to separate them from your body.
“Hey, did you hear me?” Moving away abruptly, you bring your arms to your chest protectively ”I don't hate you, okay?” He continues speaking. “To be honest, I'm just like that. I thought you knew” You raise an eyebrow at his words, sniffing the mucus generated by your tears with your nose.
“Did you think I found you that unpleasant?”
“No, I didn't mean that” He laughs lightly, putting a hand in one of his pants pockets, and handing you a tissue. His laughter is a very pleasant sound. “I'm not the most expressive person, I guess. I don't know, I'm a bit reserved. I don't usually express things the way I should. But I don't hate you, not at all. I haven't stopped to think about how I made you feel with my words, to be honest.”
Your reddened eyes meet his. For the first time, you notice that there is no boredom in his gaze. Just genuine concern. Despite your anger and frustration, something in the way he looks at you makes you lower your guard a bit.
“Well, that's a start, I guess” You murmur, feeling the tension slowly subside and bringing the tissue you had taken from Inupi to your nose. Inui nods as if he agrees with you. He seems uncomfortable, but he's willing to try to resolve the situation.
“I'll pay more attention to how I act, I promise.” You smile at his words.
“I've never heard you laugh” The poker face disappears from his face. The slightest blush decorates his cheeks. “I like your laugh, Inui.”
“Of course you like my laugh, you sound like a newborn piglet when you’re laughing” A mischievous smile appears on his face.
“Take that back!” Grabbing a cloth from the seat of a motorcycle, you start whipping his shoulder. Laughter begins to resonate in the shop as his Adams apple moves with every sound.  “Good thing you have a boyfriend, because you're terrible with women.”
Taking the piece of fabric from your hands, Inui Seishu stands in front of you with an eyebrow raised. For the first time, you are aware of how tall he is. Despite his soft features, he has a very masculine jaw. Your eyes instantly shift to your hands, where you hold the other end of the cloth tightly.
“I don't think I'm bad with women in any sense. You can ask one of my ex-girlfriends if you want tho.”
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13 TH. 2013
The rainy days are the least crowded in the store. Only half an hour left before closing time, and it didn't look like any customers were going to walk in through the door. In the fridge, there were a couple of beers that Draken had bought for the Friday night shifts.
"You're going to laugh at me." The glass of the Asahi bottle was freezing the tips of your fingers. Inui had taken the last Kirin.
“Oh, believe me, I don't need to know your favorite movie to laugh at you. You give me plenty of reasons already.”
“I know, but I know you, and you're going to annoy me day and night.”
“It's Twilight, isn't it?” Silence fills the room before a deep laugh erupts from his chest. The sound quickens the pace of your heartbeat. It’s too pleasant, too familiar. If death were to knock on your door at that moment and offer you the chance to hear something for the last time, you would choose to hear Inui's laughter.
“Yes” You answer without thinking, with a smile on your face and a blush spreading across your cheeks. Your favourite movie isn’t Twilight, you don’t even like vampires. It was probably a 2000s sitcom or some Adam Sandler comedy. But you were still enchanted by the mischievous smile Inui fixed on you.
“Kokonoi has always hated Twilight” When he spoke those words, Seishu fixed his gaze ahead. He never talks about him. And you don’t really want to know.  You observe how  a sad smile makes its way in Inui’s face.
“And you don't?” You ask, giving him a light nudge in the torso.
“I love it” In response, your body turned automatically, your mouth opening in surprise.
“NO WAY” Now it’s your turn to laugh. Inui's eyes fixated on the dimple that occasionally appears on the right side of your face. He likes it (the dimple and your laugh).
“Draken and I went to watch Breaking Dawn Part Two at the cinema last year. Some girls invited us for a drink after the movie. It was fun.”
“Oh well, you use it as a flirting technique” You roll your eyes. A strange knot forms in your stomach as you speak those words “That doesn't count.”
“Pf, I don't need to say I like Twilight to flirt. Just covering this up with a bit of concealer is enough” His fingers pointed to the red mark that covered a quarter of his face.
Your eyebrows furrow at his words, and a wave of questions and emotions fill your mind. Why would someone as attractive as Inui feel the need to hide a birthmark?
“Why would you do that? You have a beautiful face.”
A lopsided smile appears on Inui's lips before he took a sip from his beer bottle. You can be as blunt as him when you want. (He also likes that)
“You're very kind. Try telling me that when we're not drinking” he says while flicking your forehead with his free hand.
“Inupi, are you laughing at me?” Grabbing his cheeks between your hands, you gently squeeze his face between the sleeves of your sweater. “You have an enviable face. You don't have to be ashamed of a birthmark.”
“It's not a birthmark” Setting the beer aside, the young man grabs your wrist and rolls up the sleeve of your sweater on your forearm to let your fingers touch his forehead.
Feeling the wrinkled skin under your fingers, you shiver. It indeed wasn’t a birthmark; it was a scar. So Inui decides it’s time to tell you everything. The fire, Akane, Kokonoi, Shinichiro, his adolescence. Throughout the monologue, your hand continues to caress his head, alternating between his forehead and some strands of his hair. (He appreciates that). His voice didn't waver at any point. It almost sounded like a rehearsed speech, bordering on robotic.
Evoking pity is disgusting. Just remembering how his family's friends acted after the fire makes him angry. The looks they gave when they discovered the mark beneath the bandage, the whispers when they left his sister's room, the loneliness of his parents. Everyone went to say goodbye to Akane, but no one stayed with the Inui family. Except Koko.
"And at what point in your story do heels come into play?" Your voice disrupts his thoughts. He notices your hand is no longer on his head. Sitting on the floor, imitating his posture, your pinky timidly caresses the back of his hand. A shy smile decorating your face, inviting him to speak more. "When did you start liking heels?"
He was never a cheerful child, but he was a child who loved to laugh. Akane always tried by all means to erase the poker face from his expression, and most of the time, she succeeded.
At some point during his speech, his pinky ends up entwined with yours.
MONDAY DECEMBER 23RD 2013
The day Inui Seishu cuts ties with Kokonoi Hajime, the workshop is swamped with tasks. Christmas is in two days and people want to be able to travel with their bikes. Draken never stops answering calls, and you attend to customers, jotting down the problems they describe and directing them on where to park their motorcycles for Inui to inspect later.
It's not traumatic, and no tears are shed. It's expected by both parties. They haven't slept together for weeks. Inui is always straightforward with his words, and that day is no exception. Koko chuckles and affectionately caresses his cheek. His white hair is tied in a braid, and a diamond adorns his right ear.
"One less Christmas gift to buy, huh?" A mischievous smile spreads across his face."Take care, Inupi. You always know where to find me."
A light drizzle falls over Tokyo. Upon entering, Inui fixes his gaze on the scene unfolding before him. The last customer has just left the shop when you place a Christmas hat on Draken's head. He's smiling as he bends down slightly. Seishu closes his umbrella and approaches the counter. Your eyes meet his, and your hand extends a piece of red fabric, shaking it slightly.
"I'm not going to wear a Santa Claus hat."
"I know you're not going to wear it yourself," you say, circling the counter and getting closer to him. "I'm going to put it on you."
"I don't have another choice, do I?" he asks, but your arms are already outstretched, and the synthetic fabric is caressing his still damp hair. Seishu's impassive face doesn't reveal any emotion, but a slight glint in his eyes indicates that he's not as annoyed as he's trying to show. When you finish placing the hat, you lightly pat his cheek.
"Look at yourself!"
"I'm not going to."
But even with the worst expression on his face and speaking with as little energy as possible, the smile struggling to break through gives him away. As you step away for a moment to go to the bathroom, Draken winks at him. Inui's middle fingers don't take long to show his boss his shiny black-painted nails.
"Nice color."
"Screw you."
"Thanks, buddy."
Seishu approaches the motorcycle he has to finish fixing. A liquid leak can be repaired in 45 minutes if he hurries.
"Inui."
"Hmm?"
"Teach me how to ride a motorcycle."
The blonde pauses in his work. You? On a motorcycle? You, who trip over your own shadow and seem always about to cry when it gets cold and you forget your jacket? (he always ends up lending you his) Well, no, he's not going to fix the bike’s problem in 45 minutes.
"Don't you think it's a bit dangerous to learn to ride a motorcycle in this weather?"
You sit down next to him on the floor and decide to watch as he resumes his work on the motorcycle.
"I can live with the risk it poses."
"All right, then. But I won't do it. Ask Draken," he says, rolling his eyes at your words. You huff. Not even a Christmas hat can motivate him.
"Draken is going to Osaka tomorrow to spend Christmas Eve with his friends."
"I know, he invited me to go with him."
"And? Are you going?"
"No, my parents want to have dinner with me" Inui lets out a sigh.
"Oh, well, that's fine," you reply. "So I guess we'll see each other on Wednesday. Don't think I'm going to stop insisting tho" you add.
Seishu smiles inwardly. He doesn't expect you to stop. (He doesn’t want you to.)
As you stand up to start tidying up the workshop, Draken says his goodbyes to both of you. He still has some packing to do, and he has to leave early in the morning, wishing you both a Merry Christmas.
"Why the sudden fixation on learning to ride a motorcycle?"
"I want to impress someone."
In all your interactions during the few months you've known each other, Inui has been the one to speak plainly. You always try to express things differently, frustrating everyone who dislikes indirectness (Him).
Seishu begins to remove his gloves. A small wrinkle forms on his forehead as he furrows his brows. Your shoes suddenly become the most interesting object in the room. So much so that you can't, and don't want to, take your eyes off them.
"Do you think you can impress someone by taking them on a motorcycle ride that could potentially end in the hospital?" Inui is the first to break the silence. His hands finish cleaning the motorcycle he has just repaired.
"He's used to my clumsiness. I don't think he'll be too impressed." The heat begins to rise in your cheeks as you speak each word.
Inui arches an eyebrow, intrigued by your words. But still, he doesn't say anything immediately. Instead, he stands up and places the gloves on the freshly repaired motorcycle. His eyes carefully examine your shoes for a moment, trying to see what's so interesting that you can't look at him.
"What if you tell him how you feel instead of trying to impress him with daring maneuvers?"
A mix of surprise and nervousness is reflected in your gaze. You know Inui always gets straight to the point, but speaking openly about your feelings is a bit more unfamiliar territory. However, you have resolved to take a step forward.
"That sounds too easy for the person I'm trying to win over. Don't you think a good dose of bravery on a motorcycle might be more effective?"
Inui smiles slightly, as if enjoying the wordplay.
"Oh, c’mon." Placing a hand on your head, he affectionately ruffles your hair. "What could be braver for you than being honest with yourself and others?" Fortunately, your brain can't throb like your heart is doing at that moment because, knowing Inui, he would drag you to the hospital in a heartbeat. "But, okay, if you think impressing him on a motorcycle is the best way to have a chance with him, then go ahead. I'll try to help you."
Your lips curve into a grateful smile.
"You're great, Inui, tha—"
"However, I have a condition. Actually, two." Placing a hand on your chin, he holds your head still to look into your eyes once and for all. Your shoes will have to stop being interesting for a few minutes. "The lesson will take place as soon as we finish the shift." As you open your mouth to reply, his finger moves to rest on your lips to prevent you from speaking. "And when we finish the lesson, invite me to watch 'Twilight' tonight and ask me out on a proper date. I'm not a fan of indirects."
"And what if I already have plans tonight?" you comment, gently withdrawing the hand that prevents you from speaking. Seishu smiles without taking his eyes off yours. His eyes reflect, for the first time in a long time, happiness. Your fingers interlace with his and his thumb caress your hand instantly.
"Then," leaning in close to your ear, you feel his breath on your ear. You love the smell of his shampoo "now you have better ones."
