In retrospect, the fact that it was a meme for a good five years that none of us knew what was going to happen in the year 2020 seems oddly prescient.

Some rando: You should think about stopping your prescription
Me: My pills make me not want to die tho
They: You shouldn’t want to die, that’s not normal
Me: Yeah that’s why I’m taking my pills

pretty boy isn’t an insult. even if you sneer it at someone while pointing a gun at them and demanding their wallet, you’re still complimenting them. you’re just doing it with homoerotic hostility. fruit on fruit violence. why don’t you buy them flowers with their money that you just stole.

What does “The Spectrum” mean? Do some people have “more Autism” than others?
I covered these topics in a comic to help explain the extremely individual and incomparable nature of the autism spectrum!

tumblr trying to shorten posts is so funny it’s like the well-meaning gentleman in a period drama trying to offer a lady his hand to step over an obstacle and she just plows through it. like good sir I’ve never once filtered the “long post” tag in my life, I’ve handled every “don’t you love the color of the sky” ripoff you can imagine. I’m battle hardened. step aside.

Twitter User: I wish I had more followers, then I’d be more likely to get verified.
Facebook User: I wish my posts reached further, then I’d get famous.
Instagram User: I wish I had more followers so I can unlock more basic features for my account.
TikTok User: I wish I had more views then I’d be a real influencer.
Tumbler User: I specifically didn’t tag this so no one would find it why does it have 200k notes? Who the hell are these people following me? All of you need to go away so I can go back to posting incomprehensible garbage and pictures of frogs.

I hate linguistic anthropology. Why? One of the most influential experiments in linguistic anthropology involved teaching a chimp asl. One of the most influential linguistics is named Noam Chomsky. You know what the chimp’s name was?
Nim Chimpsky.
Fucking monkey pun.
And this is in textbooks, in documentaries, everywhere. And everyone just IGNORES THIS GOD AWFUL PUN cause of how important the experiment was. But
BUT LOOK AT THIS SHIT. FUCKING NIM CHIMPSKY. I HATE THIS WHOLE FIELD.

Friendly reminder that bi, pan, trans, aro, and ace people in relationships with someone of a different gender aren't less queer than people in relationships with someone of the same gender, and they aren't bad representation or "less good" in any way

Hello, just adding on to this to say that "heterosexual" wasn't created because we needed a term for "normal" attraction.
It didn't start out simply meaning "attracted to the opposite sex".
From 1869 (when it was coined alongside "homosexual", "monosexual", and "heterogenit") to 1934 it was a medical diagnosis, an "abnormal or perverted attraction to the opposite sex" (Dorland's Medical Dictionary, 1901), a "morbid sexual passion for one of the opposite sex" (Merriam-Webster, 1923).
In 1934, Merriam-Webster changed the definition to "manifestation of sexual passion for one of the opposite sex; normal sexuality."
I based this mostly off of The invention of 'heterosexuality' (which I read for a gender studies class), other sources seem to back it up as well.
Concepts aren't immutable, and neither is the language used to describe them :>
seriously I had some little TikTok teenybopper burst out laughing on my tour because I said that a historical figure was “most likely what we’d now call gay”
like
listen
you’re free to take a ouija board out to the cemetery and try to explain the dizzying array of current queer terms and get a solid answer as to how he identifies within that framework but
until then, I’m going to continue NOT definitively assigning someone identity terms they didn’t self-identify with, and might not have even known, when I’m responsible for representing them faithfully and they’re not here to correct me. even more so when they’re part of my own community
I mean, you know, as long as that’s okay with you. Bestie.
