Meltdown emergency chat

As I told lipstick-autistic in an ask, I made an app for android to help me communicate when I’m non-verbal after a meltdown. After receiving positive feedback on the concept, I decided to publish it here and hope I can help other people who want to communicate with outsiders in situations where speech is impossible.

This is the opening screen of the app. It has a base text that explains to the person you gave your phone to that you can’t use speech and want to use this app to communicate.

Both the title and text can be adjusted in the settings(accessed with the Menu button on your phone or through the separate Settings launcher) to be whatever you want the person you give your phone to to know.

When the Continue button is pressed, the app continues to a bare-bones chat client:

I hope this helps some people(and I hope never having to use this).

Hey, everybody! I just wanted to peek in and say hullo while I'm on here. I know I've been gone a long, long time. I know it's only been two months since I posted, but it seems like forever.

School has been going on for me, and I made a big choice to move on campus for this semester and the next couple until I'm done with my degrees. I haven't really made time for my little, which is not exactly easy, but I just really haven't had the time. I'm a senior at my university now, and I only have 5 classes left until my internship then my graduation. This is all pretty scary for me, and I know I've missed a lot being gone so long, but I'm gonna try and change that a bit. 

I really should be paying attention in class, but I already got here late and my brain has decided not too cooperate with me... I'm recording the lecture for this class, and I'll go over it this weekend along with a couple other lectures. I get to teach again on Friday, so that should be fun :D I really love teaching, and every time I'm in a classroom that gets reinforced, so I'm really looking forward to it even if I do have to get graded on my teaching on my birthday :(

Well this has gotten kinda rambly, so I think I'm gonna end this here, but I just wanted to stick my head in and say hi and to let you guys know I'm doing okay, despite my really, really, really long silence up 'til now.

This is Noah. Noah is gender queer. On any given day his answer to the question “Do you want to be a boy or a girl?” changes.

He loves superheroes, fast cars, rough housing and toy cars like most toddler boys. He also loves makeup, nail polish, pretty dresses and barbies.

I am Noah’s mother. Some of our family thinks its funny, others are supportive… Then there are those that yelled at me or try to tell him that he can’t like the things that make him happy.

Those are the people that hurt us the most.

Noah & I have and probably will continue to receive hate from the general population simply for being happy and true to ourselves. But I will love, support and protect Noah every day no matter what: as a boy, a girl or a mix there of.
