Brother by Ania Ahlborn
I have such mixed feelings about this book.
The creepy farm, the 70′s aesthetic, and family of serial killers? I mean, I thought I would be obsessed with this book! Don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoyed many parts of the book. The descriptions are skin-crawling and there are a multitude of disturbing images to keep you up at night, however, the twist was very easy to figure out. I wanted to be surprised by the end of the book, but instead, I found it hard to finish because I knew what was going to happen.
The upside of this novel is that the characters are written very well. Reb and Michael are fleshed out throughout the story and I had a very...interesting...time getting to know them. I enjoyed seeing Reb’s point of view from when he was little as to understand why he is the way he is.
I would recommend this book to someone who wants a creepy, quick read.

Wow my first book review!
I’ve always had a fascination with literature, especially horror lit, and I wanted to start a personal blog detailing my opinions/logging the books I read. Here it goes!
I went into this book knowing absolutely nothing. That was a great decision for this novel specifically. It is from the supposed authors point of view and is a mixture of flashbacks to his childhood with certain parts detailing the present. This book left me uncomfortable, nervous, and I stayed up late just to see what happened next. I would thoroughly recommend this to someone who is looking to feel on edge.
