#everyone say hello to our favorite rich french woman................................................................ #🥰 #so im slowly working out a concrete.. 'lore' (if you will) for widowmaker. #i don't enjoy how half-assed her canon background is.. 'emotionless killer' SLDIHBDSF SHE SHOWS EMOTION #SHE GETS ANGRY.. SHE GETS FRUSTRATED #once you realize that widowmaker was only made for men who want to get h*rny over a fat ass and snarky assassin in tights.......... #it just feels so horrible #it's demeaning... but we're not going to get into That tonight. let's talk about a few ideas i have. #1) amelie's emotions relating to morality & sense of self/love are suppressed. loyalty and attachment are not. #in fact.. her feelings of attachment are heightened.. (all this through hypnosis & other torture methods) but it's not to herself or her #husband.. it's to talon. #talon is rewiring amelie's brain.. not erasing it like her canon alludes to #2) amelie's memories of her 'former self' are also suppressed. it's all like.... a fever dream for her. #from my research.. the stronger the emotions/memories.. the harder it is to get the brain to just block it out #trauma will cause the brain to NATURALLY suppress memories.. that's where we get a few of the mental illnesses we know today #so im wondering if talon used a combination of faux-trauma & artificial hypnosis #linking together a made-up traumatic event to her memories isn't too hard #so im thinking.. the death of her husband at her hands coupled with 'good' memories of overwatch to have amelie think #overwatch are the fucked up ones............. #which leads me to my third point #3) i wonder if there's a so-called layer of 'protection' in amelie's mind.. like i mentioned above.. linking overwatch with bad memories #would cause her to align with either herself or talon. im sure there's some other correlation with talon &.. 'security' or 'redemption' #there's many more correlations but im just being vague for now #i mentioned that moira might have added this.. but frankly.. i don't know. i have to spend some time with moira (blog? :flushed:) #but either way... im just saying.. my OWN brain is exploding trying to scientifically think this shit through omg widowmaker is my own oc no #😎 #tbd. #(ill write..... #i got five percent left on my phone i got somethin to say #i just think that amélie and widowmaker WERE two different people in her mind at the START #from what im thinking.. her memories as amélie are being smushed and she’s almost.. hypnotized to be widowmaker: talon’s best #also from what ive researched memories arent readily put away like that without extreme trauma #so for trauma to not be involved.. it just takes a lot of mental conditioning #some physical alterations but that’s just to make her a.. ‘better’ working machine #it’s almost all neural #and so i think she slowly starts to remember amélie.. slowly sees her memories as if in third-person #gérard comes the hardest.. his memories always will :( #i think.. i forgot the timeline but eventually.. amélie’s brainwashing isnt being ‘refreshed’ #i think she remembers a lot.. i think she’s angry but she bides her time #she’s a smart woman.. VERY smart #her mental reconditioning took so much more time than normal because she was so stubborn #her BRAIN was so stubborn #even if canon widow doesnt #‘defect’ from talon’s grips.. we’re gonna keep that on this blog #i dont mean defect in a literal way im just saying she’s not blind #i think moira predicted this though #i think she added a layer of.............. Protection in the form of an alternate brainwashing #even if she remembers everything.. she still thinks overwatch are the ‘bad’ ones who caused her to get captured.. caused her to kill her #husband etc. #it’s like.. a fire wall almost?
