also I kinda hold back when designing Sam with cybertronian forms that can fly even if I think they make sense, BEACUSE give a human the ability to fly at will and he will be propelling himself into the atmosphere at any minor inconvenience or slight resistance.

I can answer the Optimus Prime jet wing ask @saltykidcreation gave you!

It actually started with the Unicron Trilogy continuity as some people call it i.e Armada, Energon, and Cybertron.

Optimus got a super mode in the series which he constantly uses whenever a battle ramps up. Something he also hauled around in vehicle mode as it can act like a separate firing system for his fellow Autobots to use. At least what I seen in Cybertron since I grew up with it. Definitely has the best transformation sequence in my opinion.

Crack one shot. Scenario where that prowl finally know that Sam was human that turn into cybertron, and many foc out there when he can make sense something his processor will start glitching and he will pass out

Wait, did Sam full all cybertron or he only cybertron on outside and not inside? And what if there's something make metal into organic? Will there's things can make cybertron into organic? It's impossible, right? *

Has he been inhibiting allspark power in Sam by not pushing him to improve his battle capacity? has he been treating the allspark like a sparkling? is Sam a human ghost the allspark is disguising itself under? ( the idea powerful bots disguising themselves to walk amongst their people isn't new)

if Ratchet or another medic made comment about Sam's spark rate sounding like a heartbeat, recon Prowl would have a "there's a heartbeat under the floorboards" moment. Poor guy

the image of Sam's internal components being fleshy and red blood coated. does he bleed blue or red? Would it honestly change anything if he knew? does knowing this change really anything? is it meant to?

Have you any idea where optimus have jet wings come from? I meant in g1 he never have ability to fly or having jet wings but i think that idea exist in japanese version first then america put that

things are expeditiously cooler when they can fly. Japan is not wrong in that fact.

I think because the original incarnation of transformers as dynaclones were something similar to gundam or gundam adjacent. and power ups, and special battle features crated for marketing booms as unlocked upgrades probably gave him flight a few times.

and Optimal Primal a new generations Optimus prime had a hoverboard at one point which again is just math for cooler.

in the movies too Jetfire sacrificed himself to give Optimus the actual parts and even that seemed to be something He couldn't keep up either physically hosting the parts and the power demands of them or just couldn't find his battle style incorporating them without hindrance

Sam me transforming is an interesting thing. I for one think he’d struggle, mind over matter and his mind struggles enough recognising it’s an entirely different thing now.

But transformers are mechanically adaptable as humans naturally are. And him being flexible and changing what he is transforming into even accidentally is a neat idea to reference the human qualities.

I think if he does transform unlike other bots who can maintain communication between either form he wouldn’t be able to. I already think he has to manually learn how to do short and long ranged internal communication but when he becomes something else the power of mind over matter is so overwhelming strong he thinks he can’t communicate as data pad, or a baton. And often panics and becomes stuck in forms and bots and humans are stuck trying to determine if it’s Sam or malfunctioning equipment.

He dreads if one day he accidentally transforms into a cube. The allspark. If it’s even possible to. Becoming stuck in that form and has nightmares about the cybertronians becoming swept up once again at having the cube and it’s potential power they forget it’s Sam inside

Chatter again happy to share some hcs on Ultra Magnus or Mags as Rodinus calls him. He a large mecha and I feel at times he can be intimidating to others even if it’s not his intention. He has seen so much and as Optimus second in command/ leader of the wreckers. The fact he briefly in some transformer series was leading the war on cybertron while the autobot on earth.

Shows a great deal of respect. I enjoyed how in transformer prime series, when we first introduce him, he comes across as in charge and doesn’t want slacking or familiarity. This could be because he lost so many soldiers. He not one to get close to others, this is him coping as for so long it’s been war.

I love the hc that he from the same batch as Optimus hence their similar frames and that they are batch brothers or bonded brothers. He not afraid to raise his opinion or concern.

He more that stoic silent guardian type, but he observes eveything. He the sort who does paperwork to get his mind off things and a way to show he cares. It would be little things like perhaps taking some reports off a bot or taking them off duty. He also very very patient.

For his interactions with bot!Sam I believe he would take a similar role like Prowl did to Sam with providing him tasks/jobs to get him better intergrated into the autobots and for a way to Sam to better get use to his new body (he won’t take dad prowl rights tho). Ultra Magnus possibly hadn’t met Sam as a human so with that prospect he easily over looks.

But he cares for the next generation of his species so Sam unintentionally is a mascot to show there is a chance for Cybertronian to not go extinct and have a future. Mags would also try to take on a teaching role, he feels the need to if he sees other bots like Optimus doing it.

Most of my view of Mags comes from Lost light and Mtmte comics, they can be found for free online and I fully recommend them! Tho warning they are absolutely spark wrenching and wholesome.

That version of him happens to be very intriguing which I won’t spoil in case you read the comics but let’s just say he could understand Sam on the smaller level.

Contrary to belief Ultra Magnus does indeed have emotions, he just doesn’t show them in a usual way. He basically the strict military leader who prefers to address in formal terms then personal ones.

I believe I mentioned Turning point as a good fanfic but I forgot to mention that it is decepticon Prowl redemption centric. But still a great read.

I love so far how you’ve done his character. So just some little thoughts.

I do recommend a YouTube video about Ultra Magnus it’s the Tfp version but it’s cool if you’re interested. It’s called ‘TFP Ultra Magnus Has Emotions. The channel called Emperor Kumquat. He seems to do deep dives into different characters to give perspectives on their personalities.

The idea He lets prowl or Sam’s many parental candidates because that means he basically gets to be the fun uncle now is amusing to me. Like he doesn’t want one of his own but his brothers kid? That’s his kid too, sometimes you know? Gets to return him to whoever so he can go back to his own mess

I know he and Rodimus are often portrayed in the same materials which feels kinda funny that I’ve come full circle from my first cybertronian Sam ideas being him reborn on cybertron during Rodimus era. Strange ways you always happen to find yourself back where you started in some way.

So I’m just imagining he often invites himself along if HotRod or any of his common team are a hanging with Sam so they don’t play a game “how high can we get Sam”

What do you think optimus feel when Sam turn into cybertron permanent or new Allspark considering that Sam be middle of war.

I meant I think optimus will feel guilty, even optimus have believe Sam will come back he no want put Sam in middle of cybertron war but when Sam turn into cybertron or Allspark, he automatically be middle of war permanent.

I meant while Sam still just regular human he still hunted by deception but as long Sam not threat or not useful look likely deception leave him alone (for some periods) but since be become cybertron or Allspark he dragged into war more. Permanent.

And Sam will rely to autobots that he close (at first. Bumblebee and optimus) to teach him and stuff about being cybertron. Dan Sam will be very difficult because while his body is metal buy inside he still human and he no want let go that part and definitely feel very scared with his situation and trying find comfort in many shape even something so stupid.

Fear and a lot of anxiety and the sense of dread.

Fear from not knowing what was happening, not knowing how or if Sam would come out the transformation himself or something else. Fear because he knew how powerful and dangerous the allspark is, was and primus knows still is especially if it showed signs of effecting Samuel as a human leading up to the big reveal m

Anxiety because now there is one more bot who shouldn’t be under his wing. One more bot who has no stake in the war other than he knew them being dragged into it without experience or protection or enough supplies readily accessible

And dread because he would have to watch as someone young and unharmed by war was yet again molded and beaten into a soldier. He would now watch Samuel who he met still worrying about what his mum and dad would think where he went when he wasn’t there to get up for breakfast, have to wake up to the sirens and call for military duty to rise with the dawn and what it ment to think you may not live to see an end or victory to the nightmare

Which is why I think Sam would cause a lot of tension between Optimus or other bots. Because he is a generation who didn’t see cybertron or was sold a dream of a better future. He doesn’t know what he never saw and can’t care about some planet that’s not really his. And cant create the sense of the war is worth fighting for. Because he knows there’s no victor, and nothing to be won just dead tolling.

If Kup thought the young generation after him was another level of didn’t do it like them Sam is a different beast

In this one shot Sam and UM quite close and also the fact UM look like optimus that giving Sam some comfort, UM idone of autobots that he often sleep on their alt mode and well prowl still like between strict and soft to Sam and he mostly logic person! In here

Prowl : ultra Magnus, why you still let Sam sleep on your alt mode?

UM : this.. I don't mind let him sleep until he wake up self

Prowl : *start twitch because it's look very dangerous and not make sense* it's dangerous, here let me move him *move his hands to move Sam*

UM : *UM roll away from prowl* no no no. Let him.

Prowl : no, let me

*they playing catching game until it make Sam wake up from that*

UM :

Prowl:

*Sam wake up by force and shock it make his brain not 'full' yet and well he look around frantically look like about to cry*

Sam : * then Sam jump down and running away*

UM : *change into mech mode*

Prowl : *look confuse*

UM : look what did, it's your fault

Prowl : my fault? You the one rolled away

UM : yeah, because of you. I told you to let him

Prowl : it was dangerous to sleep on your alt mode

UM : and look what happened

*UM and Prowl argue who's fault make Sam wake up and running away. Luckly Sam only running around in base*

(Note, it's actually happened to me when I sleep and suddenly wake up I start crying because well I feel I late school while in reality I already graduated , I forgot about that🤣. So I think Sam will reach like that too when he suddenly wake up, his brain is not full yet from sleep so he will feel scare wake up in 'strange' place)

Ultra M and Prowls arguing and the atmosphere of charged room while your asleep triggered Sam’s brain of being home while his mum and dad were doing stuff around the house making him think he should be doing something as well, poor bot woke up with the impending feeling he needed to mow the lawn or else he’d get in trouble

bay!Bee- feral creature hiding under sheeps clothing, had rabies, doesn't look like a dog sometimes, kinda like a wolf who really loves domestic life unlike every other wolf around it, people ask Sam if its friendly and he has to say idk legally

tfp- beautiful, well pampered and trained boy. great with kids while also being a natural protector. also sometimes a little eerie. people come up to pet him and raf is not worried about it

I never really understand Sam x optimus ship, I meant sure they both have some tensions and chemistry everytime they meet but I am not catching the 'vibe' between them. If Sam x bumblebee that definitely understandable but Sam x optimus? I am not feeling the vibe

Tbh I don’t get the vibe myself but I also can see from what angle it could be seen from.

I think ultimately bayverse Optimus could never allow himself romantic feelings but devotion? Maybe not that he would be devoted to someone but knowing someone is to him? And He could see that in Sam who both fears him and hates the circumstances that bring them together but Optimus trusts that Sam would always come back to him. And thus it would be a loveless union but one they both take comfort as there is otherwise very little to find in their situation.

Something not love but as deep as it can be.

It would definitely be a very strained or uneven dynamic. Sam’s resentment of being dragged into battle like a sacrifice to slaughter and Optimus being one of the few he could rely on.

It’s not uncommon once bots realise Sam is sleeping on them in their alts they try and move to a out of the way parking pay. And it’s like an autobot egg and spoon race

Prowl literally twitching and fighting to restrain himself from collecting Sam because it makes no sense to fall asleep that much let alone unguarded out in the open on some unsuspecting bot. And what if that bot needs to do something? After the Ultra Magnus sam heist it really would make the most sense to put Sam somewhere more predictable-

Try telling any cat where to sleep and you’ll never win. Humans tell Prowl as much and he argues that Samuels not a cat and he’s not treating him like an animal life form. And then some bots like “yeah your not treating him like an animal, just like your sparkling” and it’s like that audio “in a country of Neanderthals I wear it like a badge of honour” and what about you treating him like a sparkling? “ WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT-“

BRUH now I’m thinking about Ultra Magnus and Sam,

Like Sam has been told a few things about Ultra Magnus and from the other Bots impression he guess’s he’s a lot like OP and upon meeting him Ultra Magnus definitely FEELS similar and makes a comment about the things he’s read and heard about Samuel he expects great things so he feels the pressure to live up to a standard like he does with Optimus.

Until he gets caught in an embarrassming situation or maybe when he wakes up STILL on top of a very awake and moving Ultra Magnus. And he panics and tries apologising. And they have a talk about it or Ultra Magnus tries to at least comfort Sam that it’s not bad, unexpected sure but it was workable and he felt it was nice Sam included him in something he’s only heard about from others. And Sam starts to realise Ultra Magnus is his own bot and feels and works about dealing with others or specifically dealing with Sam differently then Prime would.

And then he starts genuinely trying to learn about Ultra Magnus himself but trying to play off the sincerity behind it all. New bot of course he’s gonna want to hear all the battle stories and hobby’s and if he happens to catch on he is also in Primes shadow then only Sam is gonna know that puts Magnus in a special spot in his new spark

I fully agree, semi trucks can have trailers so you could incorporate a car carrier trailer. It does suck ultra Magnus was at first just a discoloured Optimus. Like he his own character and not many series have given him that.

The doomed fate of recolours to eventually have angst arcs over who they are…

He always seemed under-utilised but then I feel like it ends up a problem of what to do next with the autobots on earth, something the movies felt hard by having the decepticons be so rag tagged and out numbered I feel. Eventually you run out enemies to fight so you have to create new things to fight.

G1 and the autbots building autobot city and such makes sense

Later a new protocol would be informed that you MUST tell or inform some superior base staff member that if you have to roll out with Sam. Or you can ask if a fork lift manoeuvre can be made to move the minibot
