i believe this part of the story was based on real-world events, where whales have mysteriously turned up (dead, unfortunately) in the middle of the jungle! i think there was one in the amazon a few years ago?

alright, thank you everyone for voting on my luminous spoiler policy! this is the decision i have come to:

this blog will start posting images from luminous after release, with no spoilers. these will be tagged #endless ocean luminous.

i will also be tagging posts containing creatures new to the endless ocean series with #luminous new creature, along with the appropriate tags (ie. #flapjack octopus).

if you wish to avoid seeing anything from that game here, or just want to avoid seeing new creatures to the series, just block the tag(s) and you'll be good to go!

i'll be trying to get my copy as soon as possible, and get some nice photos floating out on the web! you're more than welcome to submit your own photos too - i'll tag them appropriately before adding them to my queue. :>

did you know...? this is the only place in the game where you can see the spiny lobster's walking animation!

the model and animation for it were taken from the everblue series, where they did walk around... but in endless ocean, they made them stationary. for some reason

Started EO1 because I don't know how much longer it's going to take to 100% EO2 (25 titles left and most of em are the nasty ones). I saw on TV Tropes and maybe the wiki that zoom mode spots were randomized, and I thought that meant the contents- IT'S THE ENTIRE ZOOM SPOT?? GOOD GOD.

haha welcome to the club! eo1’s zoom spots are often random, though there’s a surprising amount that are static as well…

i like the idea in concept, because it’s just one more way that eo1 never gets boring for me… but in execution, it does make 100% completing the encyclopedia a living hell- few in the community will defend it lmao

here's something to try next time you start a new game:

when katherine asks you to try feeding a creature during the tutorial, if you go somewhere like the entrance to the lagoon with no fish, and waste at least half of your food there... katherine will let you continue anyways, without feeding a single fish!
