From an avowed FF aficionado... Many of the Older FFs will be available on multiple consoles. If you’re looking for anything pre-2000s your best bet is to boot up the console of your choice and poke around in the online store. I’ve also seen where many are available for IOS, especially anything before VI, so you might check the Android store too.  That is also the beauty of the Final Fantasy franchise, you will likely be able to find something to your tastes, as each one has to be taken as it’s own experience. Even sequels to the various games can vary in the way they’re played (ex: FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus is a 3rd Person Shooter, OG Dissidia is more of a story-driven Brawler while Dissidia NT is a story-light Arcade Brawler). Also, don’t knock the older ones just because of their age or their lack of recognition. I’d highly recommend Final Fantasy IV, especially if you can get your hands on The Complete Collection, which includes FFIV: The After Years. While it’s the older, turn-based gameplay, the story is NOT to be missed.  The one thing I WILL contend though is the “which Dissidia you play doesn’t matter” because... well... not all the Dissidias are equal. XD Dissidia Duodecim is the best because: a) basically a remake of OG Dissidia with lots of extra bonus content and b) introduces you to plenty of Main-Line FF characters WITH story & context. Dissidia NT suffers from the fact it began life as an Arcade Game and they decided NOT to create a true campaign mode for the console version. So much wasted potential... -deep sigh-
So any recommendations on best FF games to start with? I have literally never played any, lol. I'm getting a switch soon so anything playable there is a bonus, but I also have no problems finding other ways to play, haha.
Kind of depends what you are looking for to start with. So take multiple lists (also I have no idea where half of these games are playable the old ones especially got ported onto a lot of things but I don’t off the top of my head know where):
“I want a game that plays like a modern videogame” - Final Fantasy XV - Final Fantasy VII - Remake
“I enjoy playing turn-based combat (think Pokemon - in both battle style and graphics level) and a strong story” - Final Fantasy VI - Final Fantasy VII - Final Fantasy VIII - Final Fantasy IX
“I want to learn as many main Final Fantasy characters as possible as quickly as possible and also enjoy Smash Bros style gameplay” - Dissidia Final Fantasy (there’s a few of them, doesn’t really matter which)
“I want to learn as many main Final Fantasy characters as possible quickly and don’t enjoy Smash Bros style gameplay” - Dissidia Final Fantasy youtube cutscene compliation - Final Fantasy Opera Omnia (Mobile game - turn based)
“Where did the most culturally recognisable Final Fantasy characters come from?” - Final Fantasy VII (and all it’s extended materials) - Final Fantasy XV - Final Fantasy XIII youtube cutscene compliations - Final Fantasy X
“Fandom in-jokes starter pack?” - Final Fantasy VII - Final Fantasy XII - FInal Fantasy X
“I want to fall in love with girls” - Final Fantasy X - FInal Fantasy XIII youtube cutscene compliations (bonus points here for Fang and Vanille who basically every fan can admit are in a relationship it’s just not confirmed) - Final Fantasy VII Remake
“I want to fall in love with dudes” - Final Fantasy XV - Final Fantasy VII (especially Crisis Core) - Final Fantasy VIII
Hope that helps.

A while back I finally finished up my Fran Bow fic series The Thin Line Betwixt Light and Dark. I originally intended it to be a look into Remor’s head, because I love that little shit. It developed into something more as I dove into my personal headcannons about the realm of FREE. My favorite part is how it inspired another author to come play in my universe.

Hit The Road Jack
—-[ A Gentle Fuck Off Spell by The Wayside Witch ]—-
DISCLAIMER:
What follows is a curse. Use it wisely, even when not harmful. Also, be safe. Playing on the sides of roads is dangerous, watch yourselves.
SUPPLIES:
A small jar with a lid that you don’t mind breaking
Paper that you don’t mind burning
Ink/Blood/Pencil to write with
A bowl you don’t mind burning things in
Jack Daniels, Jameson, or other such flammable liquid
Red pepper flakes
Match/lighter
A road
Dirt from the side of said road
Cloth to protect car hood/trunk
Broom.
INSTRUCTIONS
Find yourself a road, a not so busy one would be best. Park yourself on it’s wayside and preform all further instructions either on the hood/trunk of the car. Use the cloth to protect your car’s paint if so desired.
Write the name of the person you wish would leave your life/you alone upon the paper in you chosen medium. I just use blood, my own or animals. You can also use ink or just a pencil if you like. Try to use the full name, pet name, or url that you know. The more names you have of theirs the better.
Place the paper in the bowel and pour a bit of the Jack/Jameson/other such flammable liquid into it. Not too much, just enough to soak it. Then, light it on fire. Let it burn until it is as dry as it will get.
Add the ashes and any left over liquid to the jar along with some red pepper flakes and the dirt from the road. Fill it up but leave a bit of room and add a bit more flammable liquid. Close it up, shake it a bit, then toss that fucker as far as you can down the road. Do not do this when a car is coming. If it breaks, go down to it with the broom and sweep it off to the side. Pick up any trash you see coming back (besides the jar and what not) as to help clean up the road and appease it. If it does not break, pick it up and toss it again, then do the former sweep and clean.
Your done, pack up and drive off into the sunset!

Sorcerer’s starter pack
Tumblr media
As someone kindly asked, here is the men version of the strega starter pack. When I think about a masculine version of strega, I always picture some kind of a ragged Dandy, dwelling the forests under the rain with a rather crazy look in his eyes. A modern Edgar Allan Poe with a folk twist. I’m not at ease with men fashion having always been a girly-girly girl reguarding fashion taste, but here you go! I guess everything up there can be find either in thrift shops or in mainstream stores such as H&M. Men fashion is always a tad bid expensive compared to women fashion (especially here in France) so you might need a bigger budget!
Rundown is from left up to right bottom:
a hooded jacket. Warm, cozy, assymetric, a bit flowing and 100% stylish! Model shown is from H&M, but you can find similar clothing at nuitnuitnuit.
a warm shawl. A very cheap item. Chances are you’ll find one at the thrift store, and if not, an old plaid cut in half could totally do the work!
a velvet blazer. This piece will give you a nice victorian dandy flare. Choose it with a slim cut. Chances are you’ll find one at the thrift shop! If the velvet is a bit worn it’s even better!
a waistcoat. Again a victorian inspired piece. Any fitted waistcoast will do, you can choose to stay classic in black or gray, or consider something wilder such as contrasted damask, tapestry or whatever pleases you. Definitely a thrift shop find!
a long tank top. This piece if for the layering look. It should be longer than your tshirts, but no longer than your knees, or shorter if you want to avoid the dress look. This one can easily be made at home from a huge tee, or if you have a small figure, maybe just take a look at girls sections in H&M and the like.
a oversized cumtomised t-shirt. Take the largest basic tee you can find at the thrift shop. Cut it, dye it, print it, did it!
a distressed t-shirt. Take a basic black tee the size you prefer, and tear it appart with style. Voilà!
a printed fitted tee Could be a band shirt. Anything you’d like is fine as long as it is fitted enough to look good underneath the blazer
a folkloric/medieval shirt/tunic Romantic, folk and magick all at once! Don’t hesitate to buy this one at ren faires, medieval markets, or if you travel to a country that has this kind of traditional clothes. Could be an investment, but it is a rather special piece!
a printed shirt Paisley or liberty, or even stripes are what you are looking for. Again choose a slim fit, it has to look vintagey and elegant! If you are bold enough why not try a seventies shirt?
a large brim hat No matter what look you choose you need a face hiding hat for that mysterious look. Thrift shops carry a wide choice of these!
leather pants. The epitome of the dark romantic protagonist. Or of the rebel. You can find some nice ones for cheap at thrift shops. If you are vegan, PU leather is great too, as long as it doesn’t look too cheap.
sarouel pants. Typically wizardy looking.  Super easy to make (tutorial to come) and you can find them easily too as it is a unisex item!
slim cut jeans. You know for sure where to find them as it is the most basic item ever!
a hooded sleeveless jacket. Gives you an assassin look, can be used alone or as a layer. Model shown is from H&M.
a denim (or leather) waistcoat. Can be customised with patches, badges, studs… A very versatile item all men need in their wardrobe! head to yeour local thrift shop for this one!
a black sweater. A sorcerer also needs to be warm at times. You are free to choose any design you like. If you know how to knit maybe you can even do it yourself! But the cheapest option remains the thrift store.
fingerless gloves You need to keep your hands warm while writing or collecting herbs and stones in the forest right? You can find them almost everywhere for very cheap, and keep them in your bag or pockets at any time.
a belt with silver buckle A pretty belt is one of my favorite details in a man’s outfit. A celtic knot or a vegetal pattern are spot on. You may find your dream belt at a ren faire or a medieval market!
pointy derby shoes. Classy and quirky, pointy derbys are your best option for a dressy look. You can find some at the thrift shop, that’s where my boyfriends got his pair.
western boots. These make perfect everyday shoes while keeping the pointy look! Winklepickers are fun too. You can switch that one to any kind of boots if the pointy look isn’t your thing.
a basic black scarf. It is so versatile you can use it around your neck, as a headwrap, as a belt… choose a jersey fabric for even more possibilities! This so easy to do it’s basically just a rectangle of jersey fabric (150/25 cm; 60/10 inches), no sewing needed!
a distressed scarf. A scarf can complete even the most basic jeans+tee outfit! A distressed looking one will fit right in the style. This can be a DIY project, (distressed infinite scarf tutorial to come)
A messenger bag A man needs to carry stuff, whether it a sketch pad, a notebook, a laptop, books, bones… The one pictured has a oui-ja board printed on it, but a basic blac one customised to your liking is good enough! keep it witchy!
A slouchy beanie A sorcerer can have a bad hair day. This is how to remain sexy and stylish. Every mainstream store carry these in winter since they are a big thing, just pick one you like!.
I hope this can be helpful to our fellow male fashion lovers, or inspiring for people who want to wear an androgynous/unisex style!

It just kills me when writers create franchises where like 95% of the speaking roles are male, then get morally offended that all of the popular ships are gay. It’s like, what did they expect?

Truth vs. Twilight
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In collaboration with the Quileute Tribe, this site seeks to inform Twilight fans, parents, teachers, and others about the real Quileute culture, which indeed has a wolf origin story, a historic relationship with the wolf as demonstrated in songs, stories, and various art forms, as well as a modern, multi-dimensional community with a sophisticated governance system. We also hope to offer a counter narrative to The Twilight Saga’s stereotypical representations of race, class, and gender, and offer resources for a more meaningful understanding of Native American life and cultures.
