I have a really bad feeling about the new descendants movie... I just know there's gonna be SO many plot holes. (I ALREADY CAUGHT A FEW AND THE MOVIES NOT EVEN OUT YET) Also without the full og cast its not gonna be the same😭

Okay, so I was thinking about various ways to accommodate the fact that I don't curse when writing characters who I'm sure would curse, and I was also thinking about fluoridation of the water supply (specifically in the US), and I have a headcanon:
HC that Fairy Godmother added a chemical/potion in the water at Auradon Prep that keeps people from cursing.
Just because I love to think of the Isle kids having The Good Place-style reactions to this.
Uma talking to someone and saying "That sounds pretty forked up." And then she pauses and repeats. "Forked up. Fork. Why can't I say fork?"
"Are you trying to curse?" Audrey asks. "Yeah, you can't curse here."
Harry tries it out: "Fork. Shirt. Count. Dandelion."
"What was that last one even supposed to be?"
Now the whole crew is trying out the language filter, finding that it works in every language.
"Seriously," Audrey says, "you just can't curse here. It's impossible."
Gil is the one who suggests, "What if we go, like...fa-huck."
Everyone goes silent, because his thing worked. Adding a syllable works; what he said sounded enough like the actual word without actually being the word exactly. Right away, the pirates adopt this method of just adding a few superfluous sounds to their chosen curse words and successfully saying them without incident.
"They figured out how to get past the cursing filter in under a minute," Ben marvels.
