Cagney? Can the people of Inkwell Isles die of a broken heart? Is it possible for the people of Inkwell Isles to die of sadness? Emotions can either increase or decrease the production of important hormones such as adrenaline. Adrenaline has the effect of narrowing the main arteries, putting a person in a situation where they may die of heart failure. I'm just curious to know about depression and other negative emotions can cause heart attacks and strokes that can lead to death.
