A Visit to the Doctor, Part 4

"Where do we start, Purple?" Stellar was eager to get things going. The sooner she understood and had control over this power, the better.

"Typically you'd have to be near death. Closer to embracing oblivion, closer you are to nothingness, something like that," Stardust stated with a half-hearted shrug. She then added, "And I don't exactly want to get you there."

Stellar nodded. "Yeah, that's... that's not gonna work without causing obvious problems." She yet again recalled what happened before, though. "It does seem to come out in response to strong negative emotions, though... Both in Aurora's world, and just now. You saw it, right?"

The hooded mare nodded at Stella's question. "Indeed I did... somewhat, at least."

This was starting to help get the cosmic unicorn's brain juices flowing. "Then what can we do to trigger that again, for the sake of getting some hooves-on experience?"

"Sadly, absolutely no clue." Stardust admits after a moment of thinking.

Thankfully, Stellar was starting to get ideas of her own. "I have one idea... but I'm not sure how we'd do it." She looked in the direction of her home, the Astral Mansion. "I have a Simulation Chamber back home. I've told you about it before, right? It lets me simulate stuff, hence the name." She looked back to her friends. "Maybe I could simulate a stressful situation. One that'll elicit a strong emotional response. The problem would be convincing my brain that it's real enough for it to work."

"You could attempt to face off against me. I would know not to hold back in a simulation." The pink-furred mare stated, after another moment of thought as she tapped her chin.

Stellar nodded. "It's a pretty realistic simulation, but… fair point. Hopefully, it can handle the full extent of our powers, too." She seemed a little concerned, however. "I've… yet to test it with either of my two new states, and I don't even know what you're capable of."

"If I get it my way, you'll keep guessing," The mare simply responded, then nodded to herself and gave a bit of a cheeky grin, instead of her usual neutral expression.

"Fair enough." Stellar blepped, not seeming to mind too much. If one didn't know any better, they'd think there were zero brain cells between those eyes. "Well, let's head to my home! Doc, you gonna be alright?"

"Dear, when am I not?" Turner chuckled. "I’ll probably be traveling through spacetime soon, and picking on the Multiverse Council once again."

"Heh, sounds about right." The star-maned mare booped the Doctor, who reflexively scrunched his snoot. "Just don't get into too much trouble, okay? I can only bail you out so many times."

Stardust nodded, and seemingly disappeared into a puff of (admittedly odd looking) smoke… Hmm. That's a new one. Maybe just her masking her teleportation? Who knows?

Stella looked over when she realized she was gone. "Huh. That's… a weird teleport. Welp!" She giggled, and then galloped away to her mansion. "Thanks, Doc!"

The Doctor waved to her. "You're welcome, Stellar!"

Stellar wasn’t about to tempt fate, though she was incredibly tempted to do so. Tempted to tempt fate. Say that five times fast.

“Well, a shield spell might help, but I’m not sure if any of you have the necessary power to produce one that can withstand multiple shots from a sniper rifle. Those things tend to be pretty powerful.” Instead, she produced one herself, although it would lower her attack power since she was rerouting energy into the spell, similar to Hypermode being activated by injecting a single full tank. “I put an energy tank into this. I’d appreciate some reinforcement as well.”

Stellar had taken the scrolls from Crimson with a nod, and shoved them into her mane, where they somehow disappeared. Upon the attack, she was able to keep herself upright, but when Drako asked about her suit’s flight capabilities, she realized she forgot something. “Crap… I don’t have Space Jump. I’ll have to use my magic to keep me airborne.”

She peeked out the side, trying to get an idea of what was going on. “I can still easily make long falls if needed. This suit’s highly mobile and made to do stuff like that.” She giggled a bit as she remembered who created its original blueprints. “Those guys are incredible. Y’know? Now, are we making it, or do we have to jump?”
