Fic Teases
A/N: Planning on posting the fics these teases are from sometime this week...hopefully.

Muse – ch.20
The loud booming noise of the club enveloped them as soon as they walked through the doors. Iris was starting to make a beeline for the bar to get that buzz from a drink, but Barry wrapped his arm around her waist, smiling easily when the question appeared in her eyes.
“We’ll get drinks later. Come with me.”
His hand slid around her curves, then intertwined with her fingers, tugging her onto the dance floor.
“You’re being very sexy right now, Mr. Allen,” she said, smirking as he pulled her into his arms.
“Just you wait, Mrs. West-Allen. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
She draped her arms around his neck and smiled, practically giddy now. Then she drew him in till their lips collided and kissed him right there on the dance floor.

This Christmas
“Christmas sucks.”
Iris’ over-the-top cheesy smile immediately fell when the last of a long line of customers emptied out the door they’d come in with hot drinks in their hands. She glared, annoyed by how happy they looked and how dumb they had to be to buy into her cheery demeanor when ordering said drinks.
“Now, now, don’t take it out on the customers, Iris,” she overheard her boss say as he passed by her.
“Sorry, boss,” she said, not sounding one bit sorry.
Stacy, her favorite blonde co-worker sidled up beside her.
“Come on, it can’t be that bad.”
“Let’s recap, shall we?”
Stacy sighed, preparing herself.
“Oh, boy.”
“Mom and Dad are still not speaking. Meanwhile my brother is away at college and has decided to spend Christmas and New Year’s with his girlfriend’s parents, so I probably won’t be seeing him till his spring break. Maybe.”
Stacy winced.
“How fresh is the divorce?”
“Two weeks.”
“Yikes.”
“Yeah. And my dad has started dating some floozy from the department, so I don’t know if we’re even having Christmas this year. I’ll probably be spending it alone. Just me and a wine bottle or two. Or maybe eggnog, if I feel like making it. I never was much of a cook.”
“Why don’t you come over to my place? My roommate and I are having a party on Christmas Eve. It could be fun.”
Iris sent her a look, a glare to be more specific.
“What did I do to deserve that look you reserve only for our pesky, innocent customers?”
“Let’s recap again, yeah?”
Stacy sighed.
“Was it or was it not you who invited me to this same party last year and introduced me to a guy who felt like the real deal but then not only stood me up on Christmas Day but also ghosted me for almost a year now, never to return.”
Stacy winced again.
“Maybe there was a death in the family?”
“That not even you knew about? You’re dating his best friend!”
“Okay, okay!” She held up her hands in surrender. “I admit defeat. It was not my strongest hour. I apologize.”
“Hmph.”
“Still, it might be better than being by yourself on Christmas.”
Iris sighed.
“I’ll think about it.”

Unfaithful
Iris took a seat next to her bestie, Linda, and made no effort to open her textbook or notebook to attempt studying for the test that she would undoubtedly fail if she didn’t do said things.
“You’re not studying,” Linda said in a sing-song voice, not looking up from her notes.
“I’m thinking…Barry Allen.”
Linda lifted her head, looked at her best friend, then across the way to where her eyes had landed. Sure enough, there was Barry, his head bent over one of the library’s computers, typing away madly, probably for an assignment in one of the three classes he shared with the two of them.
“Iris, no. He’s taken.”
Iris gave her a look.
“And you’re taken.”
“Oh, that’s right. How could I possibly about lying, cheating scumbag of a boyfriend, Eddie Thawne?” she fumed.
Linda sighed.
“You don’t know that he’s cheating. You’re just paranoid.”
Iris’ eyes widened.
“I’m paranoid? Me? The one who is spot-on about things 100% of the time?”
Linda rolled her eyes.
“No one is spot-on all the time.”
Iris’ eyes narrowed.
“Ninety-nine percent then.”
“Even if he is cheating, you shouldn’t just hop into bed with someone until you’re actually broken up, and especially not someone who’s dating the president’s granddaughter.”
“Ugh. Becky Cooper. She doesn’t deserve him.”
“You don’t even know-”
“You know she trash-talks him when she’s with her friends and he’s conveniently MIA? Says he’s a bad kisser, a bad fuck, that he doesn’t listen to her…”
“And this is the guy you want to have revenge sex with.”
“It’s all talk. He can’t really be that bad. And if he is, why doesn’t she just teach him so he gets better, instead of bashing him behind his back?”
Linda looked at her curiously.
“You’ve been thinking about this for a while.”
Iris couldn’t meet her eyes.
“He just seems like a good guy. He doesn’t deserve that.”
“And he’s cute,” Linda pointed out.
“There is that.”
