It had been supposed to be a quick mission. In, out, and be done with it.
The native population of the planet wasnāt supposed to be affiliated with the Galra. They werenāt supposed to open fire.
If Shiro had taken the hit, he would probably be dead. Humans can withstand much, but there are limits. Galra, on the other hand, are a little sturdier. And so are half-Galra.
Keith hadnāt seemed to make a conscious decision when he threw himself on top of Shiro. He hadnāt even had time to yell out a warning. And so Shiro, running ahead and furiously thinking of the best escape route, had been completely caught off guard by the sudden impact against his back, sending him skidding to the ground, his armor saving him from any abrasions.
Keith, as it turned out when Shiro quickly pushed himself up again and looked around, had saved him from certain death.
