[START ID] Ranboo: So I accidentally recorded over like 5 seconds of footage of someone's party from 1993 on this camera (I had no clue that it was on there until I realized) and it did this? What it did was it spliced my video but only on the bottom half for some reason and it was dead silence with my audio until it cut back to the original video of just someone's party. It genuinely scared me

y’all know wilbur can have trauma AND be manipulative like those are two very real and valid statements. no one is trying to undermine his mental illness, like it’s clear that he is doing unwell despite wanting to be better, but ignoring his actions under the guise of ‘well it’s not like he wants to do it’ is just doing a disservice to his character. of course wilbur doesn’t want to be manipulative, but his trauma pushes him to act out of a place of distrust and fear. you can still like his character and acknowledge that his actions are harmful to others that’s the point of having dynamic figures on the server

honestly? I think it’s interesting how much weight different fights / deaths have on the dsmp and how they can be interpreted in different ways

people die all of the time; it’s a video game. and yet so little of those deaths are canon, even during heavier lore.

for example: on one of the most recent c!crimeboys streams, revivebur and tommy fought. wilbur died fairly quickly. wilbur laughed, tommy seemed affronted/frustrated, but it was very clear that wilbur did not… die. he didn’t lose a life, nor did he or tommy display any signs of injury in their acting. so, it leads us to believe that this was what happened there: they sparred, wilbur was incapacitated by tommy first, making him the winner, and no one got hurt.

and you know, I kind of like that. the way that they used it as a tool for storytelling- to show Tommy’s frustration and hurt, wilbur’s presentation of apathy, that tommy has more physical prowess and could best wilbur in a fair fight, and altogether it was a really easy and interesting way to give more insight to their characters and their relationship, despite it just being them smacking each other with swords in the game.

and while I understand how it can be frustrating to not have a solid way to determine how much a death or a fight matters without it being explicitly laid out, I think this can also be exploited in a very cool way if done right, like in the example I gave. but maybe I’m just biased towards wilbur and tommy’s acting

ik we talk a lot about fanon interpretation but it literally blows my mind how most of the fandom seems to see dreamxd. i see posts about him and it's literally like oh haha can't believe god is a gogy simp. when that's? a ridiculously small part of his character???

did we all miss the part where dreamxd was meeting george in his dreams, creating all sorts of hallucinations to make him question reality? and torturing the dream versions of his friends, displaying an incredibly fucked up sense of morality and humor while still being weirdly attached to him???

the takeaway here should not be that he's whipped for george but that the god of this world is by no means a benevolent one
