Wait no, I'm not going to hide this in the tags.
I wonder if thinking that something in English skews something is a typical thinking error in monolingual English speakers.
Even people with REALLY bad English can look up the 5 words of the question and then the words "yes" and "no" and vote.
It's possible to get a vague idea of what content in a language you don't know at all is about with a dictionary.
Like really what the heck
I'm honestly so confused whenever someone in the reblogs of my poll says that it's skewed because it's in English and therefore directed at the English speaking world...
I can't speak Chinese or Russian, and I don't know how to reach those who do. You'll need to forward it to them manually. Plus, a poll in Chinese or Russian would've excluded those who learn English as their first foreign language in school and French, Spanish, German, or Italian as their second foreign language. Or those who learn their ancestor's native language as a first or second foreign language because it's actively revived.
Yeah, Chinese is spoken by MANY people, but almost everyone understands English at least to a degree still.
And why would you think that an English post automatically is directed at "the English speaking world"? I could've posted it in my country's sign language or our family's North Frisian dialect, THAT would've been directed at a very specific target audience, yes. But English?! That's directed at literally everyone who understands it or has a dictionary nearby.

code switching is great because one moment everyone can understand you and the next la frase gets totalmente incompréhensible for tout le mundo except ton cerebro y on ne peut hacer anything about ça

#'we all know that tumblr is us centric' op you better not be fucking british
I'm Frisian German, thanks
So we all know that Tumblr is US-centric. But to what degree? (and can we skew the results of this poll by posting it at a time where they should be asleep?)

Dear followers with nsfw blogs,
I don't mind you following me (you do you), but please make it clear that you're not a bot
- there's been an influx of porn bots recently and especially if your blog is new or you never comment or write in the tags of your reblogs, I can't tell if you're a bot or just a Tumblr user who forgot that your main blog is what everyone sees when you like and follow (which is why normally you should create a side blog for that).
Normally I don't soft-block people, but in this case I'll do it if I'm not sure if you're real or a bot (you can re-follow after making it clear that you're a real person). Writing "I'm not a bot, I swear!" should be enough, I think.
Thanks!

your US poll post got very big, which means that I keep seeing it being reblogged by mutuals who do not know you.
I think “omg Sina is famous!” whenever I see it!
One of my mutuals has the habit of writing "Hi Sina!" in the tags whenever one of my posts re-lands on her dash and I love that 😄 Or generally random greetings hidden on my dash on the off chance that maayybe I see it (whenever I see it I send it back with "Saw it!" or something)

Follow-up ask:
"... I meant to ask if it was August yet. I may be a bit high rn"
...it's April, May in 3 days. You can check that on your phone or computer, it shows you the current date near or next to the current time
Is it autism yet?
What's autism yet?
I mean chances are that whatever you mean is autism, as this is an autism blog

(⬆️ this is about my "Are you from the US?" poll ⬇️)
And then people assuming that the majority of "no" voters are from Australia and the UK. Are you aware how SMALL the UK is? Do you know how many OTHER countries there are where English is perfectly understood?
Like, what the actual fuck

Interestingly, the percentage for "no" only got 0.3 percent lower over night. That's a good sign, we can try to make it 50:50 again today!
So we all know that Tumblr is US-centric. But to what degree? (and can we skew the results of this poll by posting it at a time where they should be asleep?)
