are you going to run this bang again this year?

Hey there!

Originally the plan was to run it again this year since I, Mod Kei, had tons of fun running it last year! But the BNHA fandom suddenly had an increase of character-centric big bangs and I did not feel comfortable contributing to the oversaturation. I would love to run it again at some point, but for now, the answer is no.

To See You Smile

Hello, everyone! This is the story I wrote for the Bakugo Big Bang; it’s a special tie in to my ongoing series, Cherry-Orange Blossoms, but you can enjoy the story even without any context! Please be sure to check out my partner Otto’s artwork as well! 

“Right, so I was sitting there, my arm stuck in the vending machine-” 

Katsuki half-listened to Hanta’s animated chatter that was marginally discernable from the hundreds of conversations circulating the high school lunchroom. The din conglomerated into a loud, suffocating bubble over their heads. With lips pursed in disinterest, Katsuki traced abstract patterns onto the surface of the table, cheek resting on the forearm of his opposite limb. Lunch was almost too long for Katsuki’s thin thread of patience to sustain his social meter. Every day he found himself fraying the string, unraveling the strand until it threatened to snap in the form of irritable grumbles and, if provoked, angry cursing and stomping. All the noise and movement just drove his senses into high-alert, making every nerve hypersensitive and sparking like an overheated circuit. 

That’s why his lips curled into a scowl when the girls sauntered over from their table nearby.

Summary: Bakugou enjoys the peace and solitude of the bakery’s kitchen. He leaves the annoying customers to Midoriya while he turns out pastries, until of course Midoriya gets it in his head they need to expand the bakery and Bakugou is forced out of the kitchen. At the very least there’s a handsome, redheaded firefighter to keep him company while he waits for the renovations to be completed.

we all make mistakes | bakushin for bakugou big bang

Summary: At their five year reunion, Bakugou is drunk enough to hook up with Shinsou. He’s disappointed at the lack of someone in his bed when he wakes the next morning, but after not seeing someone for over twenty years, he thinks it doesn’t matter.Until Bakugou shows up at Yuuei as a guest lecturer and runs into Shinsou on more than one occasion. It’s been twenty-three years and Bakugou can’t seem to get that night or Shinsou out of his mind.

Snippet: 

The sound of the voice causes some long forgotten ache in his gut. A dull, lingering hurt. A reminder of past feelings, of past mistakes, of missed opportunities.

Katsuki ignores it, lifting his head slightly to peek at Shinsou. He looks just as good as he did those years ago, maybe even better. He’s filled into his tall stature, though his muscles are hidden by the baggy choice of clothing. There’s a stubble along his jaw, barely there but visible all the same. His purple hair is pulled into a bun, his eyebags more pronounced than they were in their teenage years, hidden behind a set of round glasses that somehow accentuate his beauty.
