I can confirm this is true actually, like OFMD was such an amazing show and I was super obsessed with it, but that addiction to the ship didnāt last for very long after. Like yes, I love them but Iām not analysing them, because I donāt need to. They were canon.
This is controversial, but if Johnlock were a confirmed ship, we wouldn't be as obsessed with it as we are. It's the groveling, the anger, the unspoken words that keeps us coming back for more. It's the grief John felt after Sherlock died that makes us all weep and write fanfics to soothe our aching hearts. It's the unresolved romantic and sexual tension that drives us all crazy. It's the lack of a happy ending that keeps Johnlock alive.
Itās something about this face too that absolutely kills meš
just something about "you don't get to say that to me".
Not "you're lying" or "I don't believe you" but "I know it's true but you don't get to say that to me" because "I know you love me sure as the sun but you've not yet earned the right to tell me" and "you don't get to say that to me" because "I know you love me as pure as grief but we're not getting over this that easy" and "you don't get to say that to me" because "I know you love me sure as you know that I love you but I don't know if I'm ready to hear it yet" my god this fucking show
thank you for bringing so much joy, kindness and laughter to our lives š
