I mean I get it that her husband is dead and it’s difficult times and they need to find her son but if they really wanna act like the love doesn’t always sits in the room WHY is she adding “As your queen “ ? I can’t with these two they need to stop I’m unwell .

Yeah I would not say that what Alicent and Viserys have is anywhere close to a father daughter relationship, even for Targaryens.

If Viserys was seeking a fatherly relationship with Alicent to fill that void with Rhaenyra, he’d have reached out to connect with her on her interest instead of making her connect to him over his.

Their relationship is much closer to a man child forcing a much younger woman to do all the emotional labor and be his therapist so he can be happy. It’s the kind of relationship where once the woman is out of it, she realizes how abusive he was to her.

Also hate the implication that Viserys wanted to bone Rhaenyra 💀

I can’t believe they had Rhaenyra go “I don’t want to be in the birthing bed, mother” only to have her do it six times.

I can only think that they’re setting up for her to have both. She can be a dragon rider and a mom! Wow! Just like every Targaryen woman before her.

Like honestly making Rhaenyra not want children at first would only work if we saw her go through changing her opinion on it. Instead of jumping from i never want children to birthing her 3, like the disonance in that. And even then it would have been a needless detour. And I never thought about Alicent having that fear but it makes so much sence now that I do.

Like, show us why she so suddenly changed her mind. Show us what caused this switch. Was it envy because Alicent had children and she didn’t? Was it because she desperately wanted heirs and wouldn’t want Aegon to succeed her? Was it to strengthen her claim? Was it because she wanted more dragonriders on her side? Was it because she wanted to usurp Driftmark through her son? Was it because she thought she could get away with anything? Was it because she was just stupid?

If the Greens had fled to Esso, would they have been safe? Black Stans have always said something along the lines of the Greens could have fled to Esso and didn't need to start a war. 

This had we stumped for a bit anon! So there are a few different ways the greens could flee to Essos and

The first thing to think about is who would the green flee to in Essos? If they fled to one of the free cities in Essos, they’d need to bring some kind of bargaining power for the city to take the chance hosting a rival faction to the iron throne. Plus, the greens would need a powerful ally in Essos to flee to so the blacks won’t try to take them out while in exile.

So what do the greens have to bring to the negotiation table? The gold from the treasury won’t be enough to keep daemon from flying in on Caraxes to burn down a free city. They have to bring their dragons to the city as both a protection and deterrent from attacks.

But this takes the conflict from being centered on Westeros to possibly involving a free city. What free city would not want the biggest dragon in the world, an egg laying dragon, and two large dragons being part of their defense?

But this is a terrible situation for the Blacks because now there is an outside power with dragons! The Targaryens succeed because they’re the only one with a dragons so if another outside power has dragons, they’re in trouble!

If the Greens flee to Essos without dragons (which I doubt the dragons wouldn’t follow them because we see Sunfyre and Dreamfyre being very in-tune with Aegon and Helaena) they’ll be on the run 24/7 trying to avoid being used as political pawns or hostages. They’d be in a similar situation to Viserys and Daenaerys because they don’t have the skills to slide into the lives of peasants or traders.

So I don’t think the greens could be safe in Essos without still being a threat to the blacks. They need their dragons to ensure their safety in essos but that still makes them a threat and if they don’t have their dragons then they have no way to ensure their safety in Essos.

The brain rot some people have about Sansa; like, I just read this huge meta about how Sansa isn’t kind and all her kindness is superficial because she wants to slap sense into Robin and doesn’t make friends with everyone

Like, the whole point of Sansa’s character is that she’s kind and that forces people around her to change because she touches them

It’s just a weird thing to read about, especially if you’re framing it that Arya’s actually kind, and Sansa isn’t, because it just seems to me that either you didn’t read either of their POVs, or you don’t understand either of their characters

They’re both kind in their own ways, and just because Sansa doesn’t act exactly the same way Arya doesn’t make her unkind

Not like Ned literally took a hit to his own honor to protect Jon from Robert of anything. Not like Ned created a rift in his marriage to protect Jon or anything. Not like Ned literally lying to Rob’s face about Jon.

No, he’s totally hand over his sister and her son to Rob to do what he wish with them.

If Lyanna lived, Ned would of snuck her back home to live under a disguise as someone else or lie to Robert that Lyanna is too far gone mentally to marry him.

What is your opinion on this post? Do you agree or disagree?

Very interesting post! I do agree that Daemon’s “love” is like Cersei’s with his kids being extensions of himself instead of people in their own rights.

I saw some commenters disagreeing saying “Cersei was willing to out her kids as bastards to get out of her marriage to the Tyrells, Daemon would never” but as the post says, Daemon said he’d rather feed his sons to his dragon than let them serve as squire and cupbearer. Which is very similar to Cersei’s use of her kids. Both don’t care for their child’s well being and will use them to get what they want.

I’m disappointed but not surprised that fans think Daemon loves Rhaenyra. He wasn’t with her while she was delivering their stillborn daughter. I’ll give props to Viserys for actually being by Aemma’s side during her last labor, which is one of the only humane things he did.

Can’t wait to see the mental gymnastics people will do to justify Daemon’s abusive treatment of Rhaenyra next season.

Rhaenyra deserved a better husband than Daemon :(

Should Laenor have been killed off in the show, in your opinion?

I think it would have been good to have him killed off in a similar fashion to one of the stories in the books where he’s at a festival and either Qarl attacks Laenor or they get jumped by Qarl’s debt collectors. It could be ambiguous on whether it was influenced by Daemon and Rhaenyra or not.

Currently, having Laenor fake his death and run away just leaves such a mess. We have Rhaenys assuming that Daemon and Rhaenyra were responsible for killing Laenor yet this suspicion is never truly resolved only hand waved. We also have Laenor just leaving Seasmoke which makes it unclear if he can bond with a new riding. And it raises the question, what does Laenor need to be alive? What will him being alive add to the story that him being dead can’t? Is he coming back in later seasons? If the answer is no and he just dies off screen then why did they keep him alive?

If he’s actually coming back in later seasons to affect the plot then I guess it was good that he wasn’t killed off. But if he’s just MIA or confirmed dead, then why didn’t they kill him?

With Laenor being left alive, the show has to finish what it’s started by concluding Rhaenys’ suspicion and Seasmoke’s statues. If they don’t, then it’s just pointless they kept Laenor alive.
