[image id: several drawings of Data from Star Trek TNG.
top left panel: Lore hands Data a gift and says, "happy *birthday*, I guess." Data replies, "thank you, broth-" Lore interrupts him: "just take it."
top right panel 1: a front view of a yellow book. Data is holding it in his hands. the text on the cover reads, in all caps, "meow: the book is for your cat only. written in own language."
top right panel 2: Data has now opened the book. the text reads the word "meow" over and over.
bottom right panel: Data from the chest up, reading the book. he says, "quite humorous indeed."
bottom left: Data lying on his side, holding the open book in front of Spot, who is sitting next to him. there are three question marks above her head. Data says, "look Spot. it is written in your language."

happy very late birthday, Data!! your drawing killed me!!
Imagine Data practicing how to "personalize" his handwriting by studying others' examples (as an autistic kid I remember spending a lot of time mimicking the way my parents, teachers, and classmates wrote, so mine would "blend in". Data would probably do the same)
Imagine Data writing Geordi little notes and dotting his i's with tiny hearts or stars. Experimenting with writing in cursive for long form letters, and asking Troi why ancient humans seemed to associate cursive lettering with romance. Imagine him writing down Ode to Spot in the most excessively loopy and unreadable cursive ever known to man
hey wait i just had a thought. what would Data's handwriting look like. do you think whenever he has to handwrite he just perfectly prints New Times Roman in size 14 onto the paper in three seconds or something. wait imagine if he wrote in Comic Sans
This was one of my first ds9 episodes, and while it was confusing, I got that it was some kind of bisexual holodeck romp right away and I was HOOKED
I feel like Our Man Bashir has got to be one of the worst possible introductory episodes of Star Tek. In order for it to work at all, it expects you to come in with so much background knowledge, both in regards to tech and the intricate relationships between all the characters. Just look at the first five minutes. Some twink in a tux wastes a guy with a champagne cork and makes out with a woman before getting mocked and also hit on by a lizard monster in a matching tuxedo.
Who are these people? Why are they in the sixties; I thought this was a future sci-fi show? Why is the human standing so absurdly close to the lizard monster but pretending he doesn’t want him there? Is this foreplay? Where did that lady go and why are they acting like she isn’t a real person? Why are they flirting on top of the corpse of a guy one of them just murdered?? Am I supposed to be seeing this? Should I call 911?
hoshit this is gorgeous 😍 I always love a good speedpaint, and I love data so much so yay!!
I love drawing him
Speedpaint under cut as usual
This was a quick study I did with some new textured brushes I downloaded for clip. ID:1707517 if you want them they’re v sexy. Although I did tweak some settings.
