i've been tooling with comm ideas while trashing witches castle. one of them is in honor of a member of the winning team in MITMH 2024 (Death and Mayhem), who solved my CRK puzzle and got hooked on the game :3

oh iirc, if a stage doesn't start with enough blocks to spawn the win-streak boosters, they get thrown in the trash!

Damn 😔 you reminded me that some puzzles start with a low block count bc they want you to start in a specific way. I think I had one or two times when the win-streak bonuses kinda fk me over XD

And then on the other end, some puzzles feel dependent on the win-streak boosters to even get an edge of completing them. Some of my frustration may come from my stubbornness with these games. Like, I will not use boosters unless I absolutely have to. And games don't tend to strong-arm me so much into doing so like WC.

Witches Castle made it pretty clear studio kingdom failed to understand the basics of the mobile puzzle game audience.

Yea, like it’s hard for me to explain but the best way I could put it, the problems with Witch’s Castle’s formula, is that there’s too much penalizing of the player.

You use way too many moves on the puzzle: you get only a tiny coin bonus. You were on a win streak but now you lost: you lose your power up bonuses and now have to get it back by winning three times in a row.

Things meant to help you feel like a sacrifice like using any of your power ups, not knowing if you’ll ever get any more without paying up. There’s only a set amount times you can use a Cookie’s skill in a puzzle before they run out of energy. And afterwards, you gotta heal them back up manually with another finite source.

And this is meant to be the kind of celebratory “new game” period where players get a ton of stuff to start for being the first ones there.

I realize how negative I sound and I’m sorry to anyone who is enjoying playing Witch’s Castle to see me ragging on it. ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ I’m no expert on game design and what I say is purely my thoughts and experience with the app.

And have you ever played witch's castle?

From what I know, I like his mad scientist energy in combination to him being built like *that* 👀 they pulled a Milk except they decided to make that guy morally dubious which has my interest! I would love to draw something of him but I would have to look more into his personality to understand what he’s do for romance XD

As for Witch’s Castle!… I’m gonna be real with y’all… it kinda sucks ASGSJFJ LIKE I’m not getting the same addictive grab at my senses as I did with that other CR puzzle game way back when I played it.

It’s def the path in which you get currency to roll in the game’s special gacha that bogs the whole thing down. Nothing other than the moves left at the end of the puzzle affect the coin bonus. And coins are important bc it lets you get more potential stuff. And you get about 200 coins per puzzle and one roll in gacha is 1000 coins. And even then, you’re not guaranteed to get anything of value. Multiple rolls are needed to fill up a gauge that will then spin a wheel to see what you can get. Basically a ton of work for little reward.

It seems I’m not the only who feels that the game is not great since the dev team has issued compensation for their shortcomings and promise to improve the gameplay.

I can’t say anything on the story’s quality since I’m not able to get that far :P ( last I played, I was in the 90’s I think.)

So yeah, I don’t care much for the game :P.

hellooo, guys! sorry for the lack of posts (oﾐﾟﾛﾟﾐ)o been doing a lot lately, but rn I'm gonna post very soon one of the V-day arts I had planned last month. I know you guys prolly don't mind the wait! However, I feel bad that my time blindness makes everything run away from me. Especially now as my birthday is coming up in a few days! ohh, heck ye!! ψ(｀∇´)ψ The ask game for context!

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward, even)?

I think forward or left is easier for me! Forward because I could use the symmetry tool :> it's less work for me to visually comprehend. And left because I'm right-handed and so the lines flow a little better that way.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself.

As of now, about 60% or so gets posted and the other 40% gets put away in my folders for me to look at from time to time. Though, that can easily flip when I'm in active social spaces, since I love drawing little sketches for those I talk to! And that ends up consuming my art brain power (ˉ▽ˉ；)... I had been drawing for myself more since last year and it's been nice! It's not like I haven't done that before, it's just that what I had done for myself and what I could post used to be overlapping. Now it's not so clear-cut. There are a lot of my interests that I don't make art of to post online because I don't quite talk about myself publicly a lot. <:D So if I were to post something different here, people would be like WOA where'd that come from??

14. Any favorite motifs?

❤ Hearts!! Most of my work is romantic/cute, so I end up drawing it a lot. Sometimes I feel like I put too many hearts in a piece and someone out there is yelling OMG we get it already!!

I think manpu or manga symbols counts, I do put them a lot in there. I just love how they look! :P

Hi okay so I’ve been a really big fan of your art!! But too awkward to send asks till now but anyways, I wanted to ask who your favorite cookie is :D?

I gave it some thought and I was able to narrow it down to two cookies that I distinctly love most out of the whole: Millennial Tree Cookie and Roguefort Cookie! (=´∀｀)人(´∀｀=) They’ve haunted my brain ever since 2018 and 2019 and haven’t left since.

I wish I had enough confidence to post this off anon, but I don't so you get my compliments anonymously.

I really adore your style, the way you draw characters while still being able to keep/translate the charm of their Canon appearance is honestly astonishing. The way you draw expression is captivating, and not to mention all the little details in clothing.

I'm especially a fan of your linework, from the line thickness to the colour variation in certain places (I have to ask do you do that all manually?) It really brings it all together in a way I can't describe.

Not to mention your colouring! Whether it's a full colour piece or adding tones to a sketch I really like it.

Your art inspires me, so I hope you keep at it!

I've been holding off on answering this, bc I don't know how to express just how much joy it brought me to read when I was first sent this! Like, it was very in-depth, I was stunned! Σ(っ °Д °;)っ

You mention the expressions and clothing details in my drawings, and it makes me feel seen, like me fretting over those things endlessly is worth it since someone has noticed it. Like I have fun drawing those things regardless, but the acknowledgement does feel nice qwq I'm super glad that you like the line work; It's my fave part of the process, bc it really fleshes out the drawing and relaxing in its own way! To answer your question, yes and no :P Sometimes it's the gradient map's doing, changing colors depending on how light or dark the lines are. However, I will go in and manually color the lines myself wherever I see areas of the drawing that needs it.
