Last night I had a very strange dream that I already lived through most of today, but then I accidentally bought a very expensive pair of shoes and woke up. So here’s how my actual day went: I put some copper ore in the furnaces, I had a little harvest from my garden, and gave it some well-needed maintenance (even popped to the shop to get some more seeds!). Hopefully at some point the beds in my garden will actually be divided into different plants, rather than all mixed together! Then I worked a bit in the top corner of my land, clearing the stuff on the ground around Grandpa’s shrine. Oh, also, I found a stone statue of an owl! Bit spooky but a nice surprise, I put it up by the shrine too.
I’ve been trying to think of a way to clear some of the grass I have (because it’s everywhere!) without getting rid of too much of it. It’s very pretty after all and might one day be useful. My idea for this right now is to build a little meadow where the grass can thrive without being trodden on all the time, so I worked a bit at that, too, before a very late night.

I started today without any real plan, and everything I did went a bit more slowly than usual because once you start collecting salmonberries it is very hard to walk past a single one without picking it. Still, I dropped off a cauliflower at the Community Centre and finally got my stash of geodes processed. I ended up with quite an assortment of gemstones, but donated most of them to the museum - which all worked out well because Gunther gave me some cauliflower seeds in return! Then I thought “Oh hey, it’s only 5pm, maybe I’ll just pop down to the mines for an hour or so”. Of course that never happens, if I go down there I’m down there for ages, so I didn’t get home until past midnight. Oops. Oh, also, I saw a woodpecker! Are those common here, I wonder?

I decided to dedicate all of today to reaching level 20 in the mines - and I did it! I found lots of goodies and waiting for me on level 20 was a sword which is, at the very least, better than the one I’ve been using so far. Progress.
P.S. how pretty is the blossom at the moment? I love the spring.

Sun’s back out today! I dedicated most of my day to fishing and foraging, as I’m trying to save up for a bigger rucksack (among other things!), but in the evening I found time to work a bit more on my garden. I popped to the shop and bought some tulip seeds to plant, and decided to dig two more beds. Unfortunately I was way too tired to finish them tonight, but hopefully I’ll get around to it tomorrow. I’m meeting new people every day at the moment, and I’m starting to get used to spending my days outdoors.
