It's finally here!!

...well at least part of it. Let me explain...I had a dream that I could create scripted events easily, sadly as it is with anything, it's not always easy. I am rolling out the Empty version of New Pleasantview so you can add whoever you want and do whatever you want with it. The thumbnail picture for this one was taken by @plumbtales .

Speaking of Plumbtales, I want to give my sincerest thanks to Plumbtales for not only helping me with the lots for this big project, but for the support, kind words, teaching me new things, making the hood safe for download, handling the tedious task of taking charge of the language files and for just being an overall a great person to work with. I just want to put that out there because thanks are just not enough. I could not have done this by myself so thank you for being part of this with me.

Then there is the N001 version which it is the same hood and buildings, but with all the original characters that came with the game. I used @meetmetotheriver clean Pleasantview with townies. I used @microscotch Pleasantview Image as the thumbnail. After tweaking the neighborhood with SimPE and Mootilda Hood Replace, as well as a few mods that keep other characters from generating. (Thank you PT!) I was able to maintain the character's integrity and internal stories. They are all in the families bin in addition to their deceased (tombstones) being in the inventories of the living members. With this also came some sacrifices. The only thing I could not save were the scripted events because the properties no longer exist.

Lastly, I have also created a little realty catalog of all the properties in Oldtown. some have cute back stories and others you can put 2 and 2 together to determine where everyone in the families bin belongs.

ALSO I HATE TO YELL, BUT THIS PART NEEDS SPECIAL ATTENTION! THE N001 VERSION MUST BE PLACED INTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOLDER AFTER THE OLD N001 VERSION HAS BEEN DELETED OR RELOCATED BECAUSE IF YOU DO A REPLACEMENT OF FILES IT WILL BE WONKY FOR SURE. Done yelling.

This is only part 1. I plan to come back with a part 2 that will live the dream I am hoping to come to fruition where some characters from the past will be back and scripted events will make a comeback as well. I just need more time for that. I thought in the mean while I would give you guys this. This also helps me so if any of you notice anything amiss, you can let me know and I can fix it.

Just so you know the version of The Sims 2 that was used to create this neighborhood build was The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection.

And last but not least please make sure that you back up your stuff before you put anything that anyone has created (including me) into your folders.

***Please note: there is a known issues that tends to happen with apartment lots when you move in a sim, the entire lot appears to sink, don't panic. Return to the neighborhood and pick up and immediately place down again the lot. Do not move it to the lots bin. This should fix the issue. This is a well-known bug dealing with apartment lots built on not entirely flat lots. This is a snippet provided from one of Phaenoh's uploads on MTS. Thank you PD for answering my previous post.

like there are some papers that I *might* use for my thesis but i don't know because they are paywalled and I am not going to pay for them if I don't even know if they'll be useful???

i understand these people need to make money but we gotta come up with a better monetizing strategy for academic literature because this is ridiculous

I have plans on updating the Tattooer sometime this year with some quality of life improvements, along some new stuff, but yeah the new workflow might use just a couple keyboard shortcuts to make the process even faster. Just wanted to know what the cc community generally prefers before I write down the guides and stuff for the new version in the future.

bro they put my lennon mesh conversion in there, BUT ONLY THE MESH, NOT THE TEXTURES lmao. That will show up as a broken flesh-coloured mess in game.

also the download itself is super unorganized. There's a 4t2 folder with clothes and hair inside but then there are also 4t2 clothes and hair outside of that folder and also several mods and I can't even tell if they paid attention to load order. Was that person high when they made this?

I normally don't do this, but please do not download this CC pack. It not only has some of my default hairs which I explicitly asked people not to reupload, but entire 4t2 packs, clothes, mods and what look like bodyshop installations.

I've seen this before but not at this magnitude. I don't know which version of the hair defaults they nabbed, what mods they loaded...

Trying not to be a hater, but with no credit and potentially harmful concoctions of cc, I'd recommend to find the original sources which was predominantly items on LordCrumps.com, @deedee-sims, @mdpthatsme, @tvickiesims, @applewatersugar, @rascalcurious, etc

The Sims 2 Inspired UI for The Sims 4

After making my own UI override, I've been itching to look back in time and try to recreate The Sims 2 UI in TS4, and here it is!

I tried to capture the look & feel as best as possible, so I hope you can enjoy this mod and reminisce a bit c:

General Info

PC: 1.105.345.1020 / Mac: 1.105.345.1220 Older game versions will not work with this mod.

UI overhaul in the style of The Sims 2's UI.

Over 500+ additional icons recolored for CAS & BuildBuy!

Sims 2 style cursor recolors.

Most text are kept in their original color, though they might get changed/updated down the line.

To install:

// Main mod

Download & extract the zip file within your Mods folder.

Install the latest UI Cheats Extension mod and make sure it loads after the Sims 2 UI mod. Current version needed: v1.40

// Extras

Loading screen: download only one loading screen file. Available in: 4:3 - 16:9 - 16:10 aspect ratio.

Opening screen: file to replace the intro TS4 screen. Choose the file that pertains to your game language.

TS2 Cursor: recolored TS4 cursor to match with TS2's cursor. Unfortunately, some cursors are missing their recolors (rotate cam & grab+arrows in CAS).

EA Notif: optional file if you prefer to keep the notification in its original color scheme.
